“Phillip took wonderful care of my cat. He was communicative and provided nice updates about how my cat was doing throughout the week. My cat seemed content when I returned. The liter box was well maintained, and the apartment smelled clean.”

“Leilani did some drop-ins for our dog Moxie as we were away for the evening for a special event. I loved the reports we got from her with updates and our dog loved her at the meet and great! Will definitely be rebooking.”

About: Hi! I’m Sarah, a lifelong dog lover who has always grown up with multiple dogs in my family (besides my freshman year of college in the dorms, which was a long enough break for me before I adopted a dog of my own again). I genuinely enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, from black Labradors and American bulldogs to smaller breeds like pugs. I’ve also dog-sat for friends, family, and neighbors many times, helping with walks, feeding, playtime, and overnight care. I currently have two pugs of my own, Bean (3) and Gus (5), who keep me on my toes and bring a lot of joy to my everyday life. Being a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet. While this is my first time on Rover, I’m not new to dog care. I bring years of hands-on experience and a calm, attentive approach to every dog I care for. Whether your pup is playful and energetic or more relaxed and cuddly, I’ll treat them like my own and make sure they feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away. I’m an elementary school teacher, so I currently have the summer off, which gives me a lot of free time during the week and a very flexible schedule. During the school year, I still have consistent mornings, evenings, and weekends available for pet care. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I already structure my day around my two pugs and am used to taking on that sense of responsibility and consistency. I’m used to managing feeding/walking schedules, routines, and daily needs. I also enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, so incorporating walks and check-ins is something I genuinely look forward to. In my home, pets would be cared for in a calm, safe, and supervised environment. I have two very friendly pugs, Bean (5) and Gus (3), who are social, gentle, and get along well with other dogs. I always do slow, supervised introductions to make sure everyone is comfortable. Dogs in my care get regular walks (at least 2–3 times a day depending on their needs), along with plenty of attention, playtime, and rest. I also have a securely fenced outdoor area for quick potty breaks, but I prioritize walks for exercise and enrichment. My goal is to make visiting dogs feel at home while keeping a structured, safe routine so they feel comfortable and cared for during their stay.

About: First experience with dogs was growing up and my yellow lab had 11 puppies all delivered in the house. I helped care for them while finding their new homes along with two cats. I would love a dog of my own, but don’t have the space for one to run around freely. Part-time pet sitting to help pay off some debt while I continue to grow my coaching business. I love animals and this was an easy way to do something to help and also make a little extra money. I respect pets and care for them. I do had a no fear attitude and understand that every pet has their preferences. I can do most things so long as I am prepared ahead of time.
“Danielle was amazing with our cat Leo! I was a nervous cat parent leaving him alone for the first time and she was so easy to communicate with and made me feel very comfortable that he was in good hands. She went above and beyond and sent lots of photos which was so appreciated.”

“Kristin was the best. I have a new dog, and I was worried about leaving my dog alone for the first time. Kristin kept me updated and communicated frequently. She put me at ease. Appreciated her!”

“Marcie did a fantastic job looking after our cats and went far above and beyond taking care of them when one of them got sick after we'd left the country. She took Huey to the vet twice, administered medication, isolated him as needed while keeping him company, while making sure Slinky was well looked after as well. The boys love her as do we, and we hope to work with her again soon!”

About: I have been pet sitting ever since I have been a little kid and have never had a dissatisfied pet owner. I love all kinds of animals and can’t wait to take care of yours like my own while you’re away. I work a full time job with a flexible schedule. I will be to adjust my schedule to fit yours and your pets needs. I am available for drop in visits or able to stay at your house. I am usually more available on weekends but can also be available during the week. I prefer jobs in hillcrest or nearby area. I grew up with large and medium size dogs and have been pet sitting for about 14 years. I am very responsible and will take care of your pet like it’s my own. Your pet and home will be in very good hands.
“Jordan did a great job keeping my cat company and communicating with me about my cat’s status. She had to clean up some of my cat’s messes and the apartment was nice and clean when I returned.”

“Jessica has been great with my boys! They love when she comes over for drop ins. She keeps good communication for the drop ins and informs me of her schedule in a timely manner if she will not be available.”

“My dogs love Caitlin. She’s amazing in how well she cares for my dogs while I’m gone. I can be certain that they are in great hands. She thinks of the smallest details to make sure they are comfortable and safe. Thank you!”

Wow!!! Danielle was easy to communicate with and seems like she genuinely enjoyed spending time with our cats Suzie, Finny and Millie! This makes such a difference when working with a new sitter as you feel you can naturally trust them to take amazing care of the little ones, which gives true peace of mind :) She also sent a nice update with many lovely pictures! Thanks Danielle!

Samantha did a great job watching the kitties. She followed the care instructions and extended efforts by cleaning up some messes from the cats and even gave our jumping spider some attention during my trip. Quick communication and responses which kept us at ease.

Brandon was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G with my cat while I was out of town for the weekend. My cat can need a lot of stimulation at times & Brandon was not only great at keeping him engaged but was also exceptional at reading when my cat needed some chill time. It’s super special to have someone who “gets cats” & pays attention to their subtle communications. Brandon is super organized, thorough, great at communication & following through with instructions & plans. Thank you again!

Jasmin was a wonderful pet sitter! She took excellent care of my two kitties while I was away and gave me so much peace of mind. She was reliable, communicative, and sent regular updates and photos, which I really appreciated. It was clear my cats were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I would absolutely book with Jasmin again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter!

Chelsea was awesome taking care of my cat, she went above and beyond. She checked his water and food daily, ensured he got daily pets, snacks, and play. Throughout the visit Goose even began to seek pets and attention something he does not usually do. She even went so far as to check and change out his litter bag since it was getting full towards the end of my trip. I am really happy with the service she provided and will happily rebook with her if I need petsitting services.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hillcrest. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
