“Belinda watched my cat, Bella, for about 3 weeks and she did fantastic! Bella warmed up to her right away. Belinda was great about sending photos and making sure Bella’s food, water, and litter were taken care of. It made me feel much better knowing that there was such a caring person looking after my girl. I’d be happy to book her again.”

“Brandee is so caring towards my puppy. She always makes sure that she is well taken care of and gives her so much attention. Brandee genuinely cares about dogs and I always know she's in great hands when she comes to check on my puppy. Definitely reccomend her to everyone! ”

About: I have had pets for 17 years and so far I have 2 cats and 5 very friendly dogs. I know every behavior and jests at them or if they feel sick I am at home full time. The only time I go out is to go to the market and the occasional medical appointment. The rest of the time I will be caring for and raising your little loved one. My house has a secure fence, a yard to run around in. They will have fun meeting new friends. When they get tired they will sleep in a bed or blanket if they want.
“She’s the freaking best!! From the very first meeting she was so great with our cats who are usually shy with new people. You can tell she truly cares. We were gone for a week and never once had to worry. We got daily updates with photos and little paragraphs of what happened at each visit. She went above and beyond. She would take the time to hang out with the cats and play with them. She even gave the kitties a cute treat at the last visit to remember her by. Just the best! Will definitely use her again.”

“My first time hiring a rover for my kitty and Elizabeth went above and beyond to make sure my cat Dixie was comfortable and safe. Dixie had an upset stomach over the weekend and Elizabeth even stayed extra time to make sure everything was okay when she threw up. Will definitely be booking with Elizabeth again! :)”

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover and have enjoyed caring for pets my whole life. I had my sweet girl Stella, a pug, for 13 years. I crate, potty, and recall trained her as a puppy, fed her a balanced diet of vitamins and homemade food throughout her life, and gave her loving, gentle care in her senior hospice years. I’ve also cared for my mom’s boxer for a year and even taught her, her favorite trick… tossing a treat up with her nose and catching it! I’ve looked after my friends’ pets as well, including cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, senior dogs, birds (parrot), a chameleon, and special mentioned of a disabled Frenchie who needed a little extra help to go potty. I make friends with any neighborhood kitties when they let me. Usually just takes a bit of chicken or turkey. Lol I am happy to say that I have a pretty flexible schedule, so I can work around almost any needs. Let me know what works for you! I’m patient, attentive, and dedicated to making sure every pet feels safe, happy, and loved while in my care. I treat every animal as if they were my own and understand that giving their family peace of mind makes leaving them just a little bit easier.
About: I offer reliable, loving dog care with plenty of attention, playtime, and patience. I treat every dog like family and adapt to their energy level, routine, and personality so they feel safe and happy in my care. I carefully follow all owner instructions, including feeding, walks, medications, and special care needs. Whether your dog loves active play or just wants companionship and reassurance, I make sure they’re comfortable, well cared for, and given lots of affection while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I currently have a flexible schedule while working on building my own entrepreneurial business. That flexibility allows me to dedicate quality time to each pet and adapt to their routines, whether that means visits, walks, feeding, playtime, or simply keeping them company. I’ve been pet sitting for years for family, friends, and acquaintances, and it’s always been one of my favorite side gigs because I genuinely enjoy caring for animals and getting to know their personalities. Since it’s something I’ve done and loved for a long time, I decided to start offering my services to more people in my local community. At this time, I’m only able to offer care in my client’s home, where pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment and routine. I take time to get to know each pet’s personality and adapt to their individual needs. I carefully follow the owner’s instructions regarding feeding, walks, medications, and routines, and I always make sure fresh water is available. I also provide playtime, affection, and companionship based on what each pet is comfortable with, whether they want lots of cuddles or a little extra personal space. I pay close attention to their behavior and physical condition so I can quickly notice if something seems off, helping ensure they stay safe, healthy, and happy while you’re away.
About: I grew up with 2 childhood dogs & have experience from them, i walked/fed & kept company to my neighbors dog when i was around 12, & i watched my bestfriends dog while they were out of town for 2 weeks. Im a bit rusty with dogs as i haven’t had one myself for quite some time now but id love to get back into their furry world I’m currently a stay at home mom looking for side hustles & i have a lot of free time as i’m home all day I treat every home with care & every pet like my own & follow all care instructions closely. I can stop by for walks, feeding, playtime, & give your pet calm loving attention in a safe space. I can occasionally do overnight stays if needed & given an advance.
About: I grew up with my own pets and have always loved animals. One of my favorite things about them is that no two pets are ever the same. Every animal has their own personality and their own way of showing you what they need. I began working with animals in 2020 as a kennel technician. I cared for pets while they were boarding and made sure they were fed, comfortable and clean while still feeling loved away from home. I later gained experience assisting veterinary technicians and caring for pets in a veterinary hospital. I helped with routine appointments, medications and emergencies. I also worked in veterinary reception and became familiar with many different aspects of pet care. I love caring for all kinds of animals. That includes energetic dogs and puppies who love to explore as well as pets who would rather relax at home and spend time with a companion. I also have a special place in my heart for senior pets. My oldest dog is 20 years and is still happy, playful and full of personality. Although he is now blind and deaf, he still has the heart and spirit of a puppy. Over the years we have learned how to adapt to his needs and help him confidently get around. He has taught me so much about patience, understanding and how much joy our pets can bring to our lives at every age. I know how much your pets mean to you because I feel the same way about my own. I treat every pet I care for like they are my own. I want you to feel confident knowing they are receiving the same love, patience and attention I would want for my pets. I would love the opportunity to get to know your companion and care for them just as you would while you are away. 🐾 I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide your pets with care, attention and walks around their usual routines. I can also provide consistent play breaks and plenty of attention throughout the day. On weekends especially, I love being active and exploring new parks and places. If your pet is energetic and loves an adventure, I would be happy to bring them along! If they would rather stay home and snuggle, they will get plenty of affection from me too. I know that leaving your pet with someone else is not always easy. Your pets are family and I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with their care. When I meet a new pet, I always pay attention to their body language and take the time to understand what makes them comfortable. Some pets are excited to meet someone new while others may need more time to warm up. I do everything I can to meet each pet where they are and adapt to their individual needs. During walks, drop-in visits and house sitting, I will follow your pet's usual routines and your instructions as closely as possible. I will make sure they receive the care, exercise, attention and love they need while keeping you updated along the way. My goal is not only to make sure your pet is happy, healthy and comfortable but also to give you peace of mind while you are away. I want you to feel confident knowing your pet is well cared for and hopefully not miss them too much! When house sitting, I understand that I am also caring for your home. I will treat your space with the same respect and care I would want for my own.

About: Hello! My name is Lyss (they/them) and I am from San Diego, and most recently have worked for an LGBTQ+ non-profit as well as several different roles in public education. I have grown up around all kinds of dogs my whole life and consider myself a canine cuddle enthusiast and pup enrichment director (according to my dog Boba). I am well versed in the ins and outs of caring for dogs and puppies of all ages, and well as more mature pups, and all fur babies in between. I am very comfortable around dogs of all sizes and breeds, reactive or non-reactive, etc. I would be happy to make a game plan with you about how to best care for your four legged fur baby. I am currently between jobs as my contract just ended, so I currently have flexibility for summer and fall bookings. I am able to come by for daily walks and can pop by last minute if you're running home late from work- feel free to connect with me! I am also available for pet sitting. I plan to connect in depth with each pet parent to learn more about how I can best care for your pet. Be it allergen awareness, behavioral considerations, safety notes, or just learning more about how your dog likes to be rewarded or blow off steam- I will be ready to listen and take notes.

About: Hi! I’m Miya :) Having grown up with dogs my whole life, I feel comfortable with small to medium dogs of any disposition — couch potatoes to high-energy pups. As a lover of all animals, I’m also comfortable with any other friends you might have: birds, lizards, fish, cats, you name it! I work part-time but as long as you book with me a week in advance, I’ll do my best to put your furry family member first :) I currently have a part-time job, but with a work schedule that comes out every 2-3 hours and flexible hours — and as long as you book with me a week in advance — I’ll find the time to put your furry family members first :) While I don’t offer in-home services at the moment, I’ll be sure to prioritize the care of your pet within the comfort of their own home as well as the privacy of the human residents. If you have any concerns at all regarding me in your space, just let me know!

About: I have had pets since I was a child, I have taken care of my pets, for now I don't have pets, I hope soon, I have even taken care of fish and also plants, but I love animals and all pets and I love old dogs that want many kisses I currently have a part-time job so I can take care of your puppy while you work during the day, and easily if you allow me your pet could sleep with me one day if necessary At the moment I don't have a pet, so all the attention would be for your pet, and if I have a shared patio space, but there are no pets in the area your dog could play with my teenage daughters and would have a lot of love to receive

I currently work at UCSD, and I work from 7-3:30. I love winding down with a dog walk, or pet care. I am available weekends as well! I am comfortable walking any size of dog. I volunteer at an animal shelter, so I have experience housing dogs and cats! I love playing in home with dogs too if walking isn’t suitable for them.

About: Hello! Just a little about me. I was raised around cats & dogs my whole life. So I am aware of the constant needs that they may require. Whether that be enjoying the weather outside on a walk or a much needed cuddle sesh. I also genuinely love dogs and cats! From high energy dogs that are always on the go and to the mellow cat that just prefers to lounge around on a sun spot. So I'm sure I will love your fur baby during the time that I'll spend with them no matter the circumstance! I am currently working full time as an early childhood educator for the past 9 years, however I do have an open availability for house sitting during the weekends on Friday evening through Sunday evening. I work with children as a Teachers Assistant so “Safety” is my middle name! I am hyper attentive when around animals and will also put their needs first.

Brandee is the absolute best! She replied to my booking so fast. Eventhough she wasn't available for the entire booking, she actively searched for friends who could help. Other sitters just turned down the request, or didn't reply. We agreed on some days that would work. The request was to care for tiny, sick, shelter kittens. The job was not easy, it involved an application to the animal shelter, wearing full protective gear, coordinating with the foster coordinator, and then caring for sick kittens. She handled it like a pro! She found her way in and worked with the kittens and even sent pictures. I highly recommend her as a pet sitter!

Shannon did amazing. She handled my sifting pellet wood litter so well with it being her first time, gave my baby ample amounts of attention and love. Communication was frequent alongside cute pictures of my sweetie. Wish I could book you again. Have fun up north 🖤

Anjelica was great! I booked her last minute and she was super accommodating, setting up a meet and great quickly. She was very communicative, followed all guidelines and provided updates with lots of photos. I felt comfortable leaving my cat under her care while I was away and was able to enjoy my time knowing all was being taken care of back home. Thanks again! 🐈⬛

Belinda watched my cat, Bella, for about 3 weeks and she did fantastic! Bella warmed up to her right away. Belinda was great about sending photos and making sure Bella’s food, water, and litter were taken care of. It made me feel much better knowing that there was such a caring person looking after my girl. I’d be happy to book her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chula Vista. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
