Sarah is awesome! Our little senior pup, “Tokki,” can get nervous with new people and Sarah was so professional and so kind with her—taking the time to bond and make Tokki feel comfortable before starting the walk. And Sarah kept us updated with photos and was very responsive every step of the way; would highly recommend!

About: Throughout my childhood I’ve been surrounded by animals of all kinds - dogs in particular. My family has always had at least one dog in our household and I’ve spent a combined three years volunteering, shadowing, and working at animal hospitals / clinics - learning how to meet the needs of every dog or cat I encounter. The passion I had as a child led me to pursue zoology. I recently graduated from Cal Poly Humboldt and while there I worked at the Humboldt Wildlife Care Center. It was here that I learned to confidently and humanely rehabilitate numerous critters. I’ve worked with everything from raccoons to seabirds! The experience I’ve collected throughout my life has left me confident in my ability to provide structured and comforting care to any cat, dog, or other critters you may have. Please feel free to reach out with more questions or inquiries! :) Taking care of pets is my passion and priority. I'm available any time of the day, on both weekends and weekdays, to give good care to your animals. The most important things I focus on are giving love to all pets and ensuring they feel safe. Additionally, I have or create a schedule for taking care of the pet's needs, from meals to potty breaks to medication.

About: I have house sat for many families, and a majority of them had pets. I love getting the chance to connect with a furbaby and take them for fun walks, grooming them, playtime, or just keep them company and lounge if they are more low-key! I have also owned dogs my whole life (Springer Spaniels, Labrador Retrievers, Pugs, Jack Russel Terrier/Beagle mix, and currently a 3-year old Cattle Dog mix. I have great experience with an array of different pet types and personalities. One time I house sat and took care for a dog, cat, two goats, and ten chickens. I am very flexible and open to helping accommodate to what is most helpful for you. Thank you for considering me, I look forward to meeting you and your furbaby soon. I work 9-5 in the office on Monday-Wednesday. Other days are much more flexible depending on any special events happening that week. I also have a dog of my own to care for. I am unable to house a pet in my place of living at this time. I take safety and trust extremely seriously while house sitting and can frequently update the client on their pet(s)’ wellbeing.

About: Nice to meet you, my name is Ghelina and I have always loved animals. I currently have the time available to be able to share, attend to them and, above all, give them a lot of appreciation. I live in San José in an apartment, so I have the space available to be able to share with your pet🐶🐱. If you are looking for a trusted person, you can write to me with pleasure 🤗 I have taken care of pets since I was 18 years old, neighbors, family and friends have trusted me because they know that I love dogs or kittens since they are part of the family and accompany us day by day to make us happy with their company.🫶🏻 I have the availability to be able to attend and take care of them but above all that they feel confident with me, since I like to share a lot with animals 🤍 I have a large room of an apartment since we only live 2 people, and outside 3 gardens by the apartments to be able to go out with them.

About: I’ve always loved animals and have hands-on experience caring for dogs through my own Golden Retriever, Vesper. I’m comfortable with everything from daily walks and playtime to feeding, keeping pets company, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable in their routine. I understand that every pet has their own personality and needs, so I’m happy to follow your instructions and keep their normal routine as consistent as possible. I’ll treat your pets with the same patience, attention, and care I’d want someone to give mine. My schedule is currently very flexible, which means I can be pretty accommodating to your pet’s routine and needs. I’m available for walks and drop-in visits, and I’m happy to work around your preferred timing whenever possible. I’m especially happy to spend some extra time with pets who need companionship during the day. I’ll always do my best to keep their normal routine consistent so they feel comfortable while you’re away. 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I know it can feel stressful leaving your pets with someone new, especially when that person will be coming into your home, so I take that responsibility seriously. I’m respectful of your home, attentive to your pet’s needs, and will follow your instructions and routines closely. I’ll make sure doors and gates are secure, keep an eye out for anything unusual, and communicate with you if I have any questions or concerns. I’m also happy to send regular photo and text updates so you know how your pets are doing while you’re away.

About: I have personal experience helping to train and walking reactive smaller dogs who need a confident and kind leader. I will be attending a PhD program in Clinical Psychology starting this fall and know the importance of catering to each soul individually whether it is a person or pet. I also have experience with older dogs who struggle with neurological issues know how important it is to ensure that the owner as well as the pet have piece of mind in their pet care. I am currently unemployed while I prepare for graduate school, therefore I am available each day of the week and can make any schedule work for me! I am always happy to meet your pet at their crate or at the door, whatever is most comfortable for them! I love to play enrichment games with my pets that engage their mind and body in order to help their cognition. A simple one I play with my sisters miniature schnauzer is putting his food under paper plates on top of a towel and he has to figure out how to access his food and he loves it! I always think a simple game after a walk is such a great way to tire them out on multiple levels!

Rachel was fantastic with our enthusiastic hound dog during our last getaway, so we booked her again for dog walks while we were out of town over the long weekend. Unfortunately, our pup developed an unexpected stomach issue the day we left. Rachel was extremely communicative and kindly worked with us as we assessed our dog's health and recovery. She was patient, flexible, and incredibly helpful—we were ultimately able to continue our vacation plans knowing that our dog was in great hands. We look forward to requesting Rachel’s help again during our next trip, and our dog does too!

Ava is great with my senior girl. She allows Callie to go at her own pace and understands that new smells are Callie’s favorite. David is a rare find — reliable, kind, and truly cares. There are no words to fully capture the level of care David has shown for our Oreo. He's understanding, listens with patience, and is meticulous about following directions — the kind of person you can genuinely count on. He handled our goofy husky like a pro, and even gave attention to our cats, which wasn't part of the job at all. He's also incredibly responsive and consistently goes above and beyond — taking Oreo on longer walks and spending extra time with him. David was an absolute godsend while we were out of town for an extended trip. We came home to a dog who was relaxed, happy, and honestly more fit and healthy than when we left, thanks to all the exercise he made sure Oreo got. Beyond being a wonderful dog walker, David is just a genuinely great human being — generous, humble, dependable, and someone we feel lucky to have found. Highly, highly recommend.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
