“Autumn was great with our 3 (somewhat sensitive ;) pups). Great communication throughout her visit. Highly recommend if you are looking for someone trustworthy to look after your pets. Thanks Autumn!”

“Kaya was amazing and took care of our senior dog last minute and did such a great job! We 100% would use her again! She kept us updated and sent pictures while we were away, which was so nice.”

“Zara did a great job dog sitting for my two Chows. One of my dogs is very anxious around new people, and I’m always worried about leaving him with other people. But Zara handled him very well and took great care of him while I was away. Would absolutely recommend, I will be trying to book Zara for whenever I go out of town!”

“Ava did a great job with our high anxiety girl! And we had a minor issue that arose which she was able to handle without any disruption to our plans, and gave me great updates throughout her stay. Highly recommend!”

“Emily was the best sitter we could have asked for! We have several animals; both dogs and cats, some with medication needs. She didn’t hesitate when we explained everything, and was more than up to the task! Our 20 year old cat, Goober, had especially specific instructions (including IV fluids), and Emily did every step we asked for, and went above and beyond. She understood how difficult it was to leave Goober at this point in his life (end stage renal disease) and made making him as comfortable as possible at all points in time a huge priority. She communicated frequently, sent tons of pictures, and made our wedding time completely peaceful knowing everyone was taken care of. Our home was completely perfect getting back to and she left a very sweet “just married” card for us. She will be our go-to for all of our future house-sits.”

“Chloe was incredible. She stayed the weekend with our 8 month doodle and she cared for our pup so well. Communication was a breeze and she left our home absolutely spotless. I would HIGHLY recommend Chloe to anyone.”

“Talia was excellent from start to finish. Prompt, friendly, responsive, sent pics of my dog during her visit, & dog clearly adored her. I came back to the house in the same condition I had left it in. It was the exact experience I was hoping for.”

“Kayla was great! She took such good care of Gypsy, Lafitte, and our home. Her communication is timely and she left our home very clean, even washing the sheets and towels! Our dog had a bout of sickness the day before we came home and Kayla was very attentive and caring with her. Gave us frequent updates and treated Gypsy as her own. I highly recommend Kayla and will be using her services again!”

“Karina was very communicative and professional leading up to the booking and sent lots of photo updates throughout her stay. The home was well maintained. Would recommend!”

“Carinne did an such an awesome job with my pup. Copper enjoyed lots of snuggles while I was gone, and it was easy to trust her even when I knew I would be out of phone service for several days.”

“This is the second time Adrienne has watched Gadget (our pup) and Spodey the tortoise. She is always prompt and a good communicator, and we come home to everything in order. Thank you!”

“Scarlet, was very responsible, responsive, and trustworthy! She gave us updates throughout or trip; and never once were we worried about our dogs or home. We would most definitely recommend her if you are looking for a pet sitter :).”

“Katherine is exceptional. Her communication is outstanding and it is clear she respects animals. She was great with my senior lab and very flexible with my booking. I recommend you book with her.”

About: I have experience with puppies and kitties and have also cared for those in their golden years. I looked after a senior dog that had congestive heart failure and would give that dog medications daily. While watching your pets, I love spending time with them doing simple training, either teaching them manners or keeping them from peeing in the house! I'm switching jobs so not working right now but would love to spend my time working with your pets. I'm free in the afternoons after 12 into the evening until 8. I'm not able to work Sundays. I would only be able to watch over your pet at your home. I live in a small apartment and feel like most pets like the safety of their own home while their people are gone!

“Morgan is very knowledgeable about dog care and understands their needs. She enables our labs to relax and follow appropriate commands. We are very satisfied with her care and interaction. Highly recommended.”

“Aaron was an absolutely STELLAR friend to our animals for what was actually quite a hectic time in our lives. Between a recent move, starting new jobs, getting married in 7 days - she was an excellent communicator, retained information about our pups and their routine like a pro, and even left our home better than she found it. My (very large, young, high energy, anxious) dogs have been through a lot of transitions in the past couple of months and when we came home they were more relaxed, happier than I’ve ever seen them after a weekend away. HIRE HER NOW!!!”

About: Reliable, Attentive Care for Your Furry Family Members Hi there! I am a stable, active, lifelong animal lover local to the Fort Collins area. As a married father of two adult sons, I understand firsthand how deeply we love our families and our pets. I maintain a smoke-free and alcohol-free lifestyle, ensuring that when I step into your home, your pets are always in safe, clear-headed, and highly attentive hands.Whether I am staying overnight for house sitting, dropping in for a daytime visit, or taking your dog for an energetic walk, my goal is total peace of mind for you. When I am not caring for your pets, you can find me riding my road bike around Fort Collins, playing my guitar, or relaxing with my own cats. Note: I am currently offering introductory rates for new clients while I build my roots on Rover! Reach out today—I would love to chat about your pet's specific routine and needs. Because my schedule is predictable and flexible, pet care fits well into my weekly routine. I am currently teaching a third of a psychology course for CSU online, which leaves me with plenty of open, flexible free time throughout the day. Since my teaching responsibilities are entirely virtual and manageable, my primary daily focus is being fully available for your pets. When I am not teaching, I enjoy staying active by riding my road bike on our local Fort Collins roads and trails or spending time playing my guitars. I will easily structure these personal hobbies around your pet's specific needs, ensuring they receive consistent companionship, timely potty breaks, and plenty of attention. Reach out to me and I would be happy to chat with you about your particular needs! Do note that for overnights, I do bring my own food and will not cook in your home. My dinner while "on the road" typically consists of a sandwich and/or veggies to munch on. My Approach to Trust I truly enjoy interacting with animals and naturally tune in to their needs. I view meeting a new pet just like meeting a human: first impression, exploration, and eventually, a harmonious relationship. I let your pet approach me at their own pace, reading their body language to ensure they feel safe and respected. Safety & Peace of Mind Home Respect: I maintain a smoke-free, sober lifestyle and treat your property with the utmost care, double-checking all doors, locks, and gates. Routine & Consistency: I follow your feeding, walking, and medical schedules precisely to minimize separation anxiety. Open Communication: You can expect frequent photo and text updates so you always know your pet is thriving. I am even open to doing Zoom sessions, if so desired.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fort Collins
Darlene did great with our anxious pup. Our dog usually struggles with anxiety and not eating while we are away, but she seemed to do great this time. We got updates and pictures throughout our trip. She left her house as she found it and was a great houseguest. We really appreciate her and will definitely look forward to booking her in the future.
Shea was absolutely fantastic. She saved us as it was a last minute decision. We got daily updates and too cute pictures. She gave our dog his medicine 2x daily and took him for walks. She also watched our spicy kitty without incident. When we arrived home we couldn’t even tell she had been here. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend.

She was absolutely amazing! She checked in with me regularly, sent lots of photos and updates, and took such great care of my pups. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were happy and well taken care of while I was away. I would definitely recommend her and will absolutely book with her again! ❤️
Liz did a wonderful job with our pups! They are both pretty anxious and were so well cared for while we were gone. She not only took care of the dogs (communication, pics, questions on preference, etc) but she also took great care of the house as well. We will definitely be booking with Liz the next time we need to go out of town! 🙂

Autumn was kind, flexible and communicative. She was able to meet for an introduction with us and our dog for a last minute booking. While she was here she was kind, considerate, and took great care of our dog. Her being a Vet Tec, as well as her professional and friendly demeanor, really gave me piece of mind. I’d highly recommend her, and absolutely will be booking again!

Alexis is awesome! Not only did she save us when our other sitter had an emergency on short notice, she was prompt, checked in with me the morning before the sit, is so friendly, kind and happy! Charlie loves her, Cooper was cautious but decided that she was great and actually slept with her! The house was spotless and she even washed and dried the sheets and towels for us! Communication was amazing! Both texts and photos! Can't wait to have her back in 2 weeks!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Fort Collins on Rover is $46.01 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 1,663 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fort Collins. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort Collins walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort Collins maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort Collins choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
