“Emily was the best sitter we could have asked for! We have several animals; both dogs and cats, some with medication needs. She didn’t hesitate when we explained everything, and was more than up to the task! Our 20 year old cat, Goober, had especially specific instructions (including IV fluids), and Emily did every step we asked for, and went above and beyond. She understood how difficult it was to leave Goober at this point in his life (end stage renal disease) and made making him as comfortable as possible at all points in time a huge priority. She communicated frequently, sent tons of pictures, and made our wedding time completely peaceful knowing everyone was taken care of. Our home was completely perfect getting back to and she left a very sweet “just married” card for us. She will be our go-to for all of our future house-sits.”

“Amelia did an absolutely amazing job! This was my first time leaving my puppy and I was very nervous but she did great! She constantly sent pictures and updates and assured me everything was fine! She did a great job at following everything I asked of her as well! I would definitely recommend using her and you can trust that your pup is in the best of hands! I will absolutely use her in the future!!”
“Kaylin was great!! She was extremely flexible when we had to unexpectedly extend our vacation by a day. She sent pics of our pups and always answered quickly any time I messaged her. I would highly recommend her to anyone!😁”

“She was absolutely amazing! She checked in with me regularly, sent lots of photos and updates, and took such great care of my pups. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were happy and well taken care of while I was away. I would definitely recommend her and will absolutely book with her again! ❤️”
“Such a great sitter! Was very flexible with the start time and communicated throughout. Made sure our girl was taken care of, and she even got to play with Lucy. Will definitely be a repeat client! :)”

“We had a wonderful experience with Autumn watching our dog, Bandit. We came home to a clean & tidy place plus one happy pup. We appreciated receiving pictures, reassuring that bandit was having a great time and looked content. We would absolutely recommend Autumn’s services and look forward to booking again in the future!”

“Emma was great. We have a finicky dog and she was very patient while he warmed up to her. She even went on a second walk with both dogs after the finicky one decided he actually DID want to go on a walk. She communicated throughout the stay and sent lots of pictures. Will definitely have Emma house sit for us again.”

About: Hey! My name is McKenna and I've been caring for pets (both professionally and for friends and family) for over 7 years now. It's an absolute joy of mine to care for pets of any kind (peep the adorable Guinea Pigs in my profile photos!) and you can trust me to be a reliable, caring, and experienced sitter for your furry (or scaly or feathery) friend. I am in school currently and on campus Tuesdays and Thursday mornings. Otherwise, my schedule is fairly open and available to fit in caring for your pet as needed. When it comes to home visits, whether it's for multiple nights or just a daily walk, I maintain a high level of respect for your home and the norms you maintain. I am clean and tidy and make the effort to leave it better than I found it.
About: I have experience with puppies and kitties and have also cared for those in their golden years. I looked after a senior dog that had congestive heart failure and would give that dog medications daily. While watching your pets, I love spending time with them doing simple training, either teaching them manners or keeping them from peeing in the house! I'm switching jobs so not working right now but would love to spend my time working with your pets. I'm free in the afternoons after 12 into the evening until 8. I'm not able to work Sundays. I would only be able to watch over your pet at your home. I live in a small apartment and feel like most pets like the safety of their own home while their people are gone!
“Sarah is excellent! She took great care of my dog and cats while I was away, and I came home to a very happy crew of animals. Communication and photos were great. Will definitely hire her again and highly recommend!!!”

“Becca did a great job with our two dogs and was very patient with our rescue dog that has some quirks. She also was very responsive to messages and sent pictures everyday. We would definitely use her again!”

About: Hello!!! I’m Niki and I’ve been doing pet care, paid and unpaid for probably my whole life! I’ve always been an animal lover. So before I started my corporate job, I signed up for a different pet sitting app, which turned into traveling the world to care for pets. I have cared for animals in Costa Rica, England, France, Canada and all over the states. And have even been flown back to Canada and England multiple times for repeat pet sitting visits. When I started working corporate, I stopped doing it for a while. But I always miss caring for a sweet animal. Now that I have a remote corporate position, my work allows me deep pockets of time between meetings throughout the day, which gives me more time! I am signing back up to merge my two goals, caring for animals while making a little extra money for help me go to a destination wedding at the end of the year. Since it’s a destination wedding I’m also pretty determined to get in shape, so if you have an active animal that needs a good walk, I am your girl! I’m happy to provide references and additional photos as well. Please reach out if you have any questions at all! Since I work remotely I have a lot of time between meetings and I love to get outside as well. I’m fully off work by 4 pm but I will have multiple hours free during the day as well. I have my own car of course and it’s fully available to bring pets anywhere too! I treat every animal as if it were my own baby. With love and respect, I will ensure they feel safe and cared for but I have zero issues with excitement and fun. I’m pretty active and my parents own a 8 month old Doberman and previously owned Malinois… so I know crazy and how to handle it as well. Whatever direction or instruction I’m given I will follow :)
“Olivia stayed with my doberdork for a week over the thanksgiving holiday and I couldn’t be more pleased. She was extremely communicative and both pup and house were in excellent spirits/shape upon my return!”

“Ali’s communication is top notch! She responds in a timely manner, is very friendly, and you can tell she takes it seriously. I’m so happy we found her to watch our 4 dogs while we had to stay in the hospital for a week. After our meet and greet we knew we could have time away from home without stressing if everything was getting done. She provided daily updates and pictures, our dogs clearly enjoyed her company. Will definitely book with her again.”

“Alyson was a great pet sitter! Responded to texts, sent photos to me and followed all instructions pertaining to the care of our pets. Everything was in great shape on return of our vacation.”

“When we first me Jamie we knew instantly she was a great fit. Jamie stayed with our dogs for two weeks while we vacationed in Europe. The dogs instantly warmed to her and I was at ease leaving our fur babies for such a long time. Jamie took good care of our home, all my house plants and when we arrived home it was just as we left it. Most importantly our two doggies were very well taken care of. Jamie is great with communication, she sent photos and checked in during the two weeks almost daily. She was super flexible when we missed our connecting flight coming home and was very accommodating. I’m delighted to have connected with Jamie and will be having her back.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Timnath
We originally hired Trey for standard house sitting, though after meeting and working together a bit his visits turned into full training sessions and we ended up with more care than we thought we could get for our guys while we were away. He stayed on schedule and worked nicely with others who were staying out our home to make sure our boys exercised, engaged, and cared for. What sets this apart was that every visit ended up as high-level training session. Communication was fantastic and completely reliable before, during, and after the sit, good photos every day of the visits. Trey is a natural at reading body language in real time and has expertise with large breeds and helped us update patterns that had crept into our own handling. We’re thrilled he moved to Fort Collins and brought his skills here. We’ll absolutely be booking him for future trips and are already lining up our holiday schedule with him.

Emma sent lots of photos and I could tell that my pups were happy and well cared for. My younger dog is quite anxious and Emma noticed some inappropriate chewing and contacted me to see if that was normal for her or not, wondering if she was feeling anxious. I really appreciated her attention to that detail and her communicating with me about it. She did a great job!

Sarah recently cared for our dog and house sat. We couldn’t be more pleased. This is the first time we’ve left our pup since she lost her buddy a couple of years ago. Sarah regularly communicated and sent pictures, reassuring us that things were going well. We could really enjoy our time away knowing that Sarah was there. Thank you, Sarah.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Timnath walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Timnath maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Timnath choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
