“A good sign of having a great petsitter is when my dogs looked at me like they knew me but not from where. 😆 Next time I book with Rover I will book Adrienne C. She's wonderful! I had full confidence in her. Thanks Adrienne ❤️”

“We’ve had Lindsay house sit and care for our spaniel multiple times and her care and communications have always been stellar. Can’t recommend her highly enough!”

“Hilda was an exceptional house sitter! Our dogs, which are usually very anxious, were so relaxed and comfortable with her! Hilda was wonderful at communicating and reassuring us about our specific requests about caring for our dogs and she sent us pictures, videos and text updates about how the dogs were doing. Hilda was also very tidy and helpful around the house with helping water plants and such. We highly recommend Hilda and look forward to having us help our fur-babies again in the future!”

“My husband and I planned a vacation and our normal sitter was not available. Becca was used as a Dog Sitter for one of our neighbors so I knew she was reliable. I have never had used any one off Rover for an overnight stay at our house with our dog so I was very nervous, especially since this wasn’t a one or two night trip, we were gone for five nights. I had a lot of anxiety about leaving him with someone new, but I felt very comfortable once I met Becca and felt she was going to do her best while taking care of my dog. I left detailed notes which might have been too much but Becca understood that I was just trying to keep my dog on his schedule and comfortable. Becca sent lots of photos and updates about my dog daily which really helped put me at ease. Becca helped me enjoy my vacation worry-free with her communication and updates! I had no issues and my dog loved her! She’s communicative and super sweet, I can’t wait to use Becca again! I highly recommend Becca 🙂🫶🏼 ⭐️”

“Karina was great! She came over before my trip to get to know my dog and his routine. She sent multiple pictures of my dog on walks and happy and playing ing the yard. I would definitely hire Karina again.”

“Zach was SO good with Bally. He took her on multiple walks and spent a lot of quality time with her. He also took the extra step and kept an eye on things at our house while we were gone on vacation. Will 100% rebook! ?”
“Olivia was very easy to work with and I came home to a very happy dog! She took great care of my place while I was away and Mecca seemed to be very content and well cared for. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Kristina did an absolute amazing job watching my two pups while I was gone for a weekend trip! She made sure that they got plenty of outside time and kept me updated with lots of pics while I was gone. They seemed super happy and well-taken care of when I got back. Would definitely recommend!!”
“Rebecca was great with our puppy!! She sent us videos and photos and detailed updates. She worked on training commands we've been working on with our puppy while we were gone. We highly recommend her!”

“Amaya always does an excellent job taking care of Miley, and watching after my house. I appreciate her punctuality and keeping things tidy. Will definitely use her again!”

“Danielle was absolutely wonderful with our two pups and kitty. She stayed at our home and took care of it like it was her own. Our two Frenchies loved her the minute they met her. We got pics of them cuddling on the couch and playing outside in the yard! I would highly recommend Danielle for all your pet care needs. We don't leave our babies with just anyone and she is just a gem!!”

“Isabella took such good care of our home and our kitties! She was awesome about coming for a meet and greet and responding quickly to messages. Our babies were well loved, and our home was left very clean and tidy. She was fantastic!”

“Karli was excellent and we felt very comfortable leaving our kiddos with her! We have a senior dog and Karli was extremely attentive to her and understanding of her extra needs. She updated us a few times daily and was very communicative throughout our time away. Our home was also spotless when we returned, and our dog & cat seemed very relaxed. We will definitely be asking Karli to sit for us again in the future!”
“Kaylin was great!! She was extremely flexible when we had to unexpectedly extend our vacation by a day. She sent pics of our pups and always answered quickly any time I messaged her. I would highly recommend her to anyone!😁”

“Chloe was incredible. She stayed the weekend with our 8 month doodle and she cared for our pup so well. Communication was a breeze and she left our home absolutely spotless. I would HIGHLY recommend Chloe to anyone.”

We can't stay enough wonderful things about Audrey! She is an outstanding house sitter and pet sitter. Our dogs and cats loved her, and she took extra care with our puppy who has nervous bowels. Finally, just as someone else said in their review, Audrey did in fact leave out house cleaner than she found it. We definitely will be hiring her again in the future.

Stacy was amazing! She stayed at our place and watched our small new kitten along with our dog. We were nervous to leave the kitten, but Stacy was so attentive and gave us updates and photos. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She’s a gem of a person!

From the first time we met Delia, we knew she would be a good fit for our zoo (including our anxious dog)! This was our first time leaving our dog with a stranger and Delia made us feel super comfortable! She sent lots of updates and communicated with us throughout the trip. I would absolutely recommend booking with her!

Grace was very sweet and very responsive. She was very clear with her plans and made sure they would work well for our furbabies. Our animals were definitely well cared for and our house was also very clean when we arrived home. Will definitely use Grace in the future.

Paulina took care of all four of my animals (3 dogs, 1 cat) while I was away for the weekend. One of my dogs had developed a rash that got worse while I was away, and she monitored it and kept me updated the whole time so I could address it when I got home. My pup is feeling much better now because of her. She's amazing!

We were very pleased with Ashlyn, our house/dog sitter. When she met with us, she asked lots of questions and took notes. Our dog Fred obviously took to her right away even though he is wary of strangers. Although he was excited to see us return, he was sad to see Ashlyn leave. And she left our house much cleaner than it was when we left! We would definitely recommend her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Laporte walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Laporte maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Laporte choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
