“Kaylin took care of our big fluffy guy for a long weekend and we couldn’t have been happier! Leo was exercised to the fullest every day and we loved all the picture updates :) our home was in perfect condition when we came home. We will definitely be using Kaylin again in the future!”

“Erika is wonderful! We are repeat clients of hers. She is so kind and caring. She’s extremely communicative and sends pictures and updates regularly. I feel completely comfortable leaving my home and my pet/pets in her care. Thank you Erika!!”

“Katherine did so great watching our 2 dogs and 2 cats. She sent updates and photos and let us know of any issues right away. She was always quick to respond. She kept everyone happy and kept the house clean when she left. Overall, an amazing job and I’d definitely ask her back.”

“Raquel and Andrew were wonderful! They went above and beyond to ensure our dog was well taken care of. They communicated often, followed Cheo's typical schedule and spent a lot of time with him. I was very pleased to come home to a happy, healthy dog and a clean house! They took care of the garbage and recycling, bedding and dishes!”

“Isabella is prompt, reliable, communicates quickly and took great care of the pooches while we were away. They have found a new friend and can't wait for us to use Isabelle again.”

“Sarah is excellent! She took great care of my dog and cats while I was away, and I came home to a very happy crew of animals. Communication and photos were great. Will definitely hire her again and highly recommend!!!”

About: Before attending CSU I worked for a professional pet care company for nearly 2 years where I managed daily walks for a variety of breeds, ages, and dispositions, administered specialized care and medication to dogs with conditions such as epilepsy, and fostered strong and trusting bonds with their owners. I am currently a student at Colorado State University so I am more available nights and weekends but my schedule is flexible! I can do walks in between classes as well. In a clients home I make sure I am very tidy. I hope to leave all homes better than I found them. I have 2 years of experience dog sitting for a professional care company where I stayed in other peoples homes, and I am happy to say they were all very satisfied with the conditions they returned to.
“Taylor was great. The house was clean. My pets were calm and happy when I got home. And I especially love that no only did he send photos, but a video of Saeda, my cat. Highly recommend”

“Marissa was awesome! She listed to all my details during the meet and greet. She was communicative and responsible. She sent me regular updates. I came home to happy dogs. I’m absolutely using her again and I would recommend her!”

“Kept me informed to dog loved her and appears the feeling mutual. Wouldn't hesitate to call on Allison again. I got hung up on return by a few hours and she stayed with my furry housemate till I got home.”

“Gloria was a wonder sitter. Our pup, bunny and fish were very well cared for! Our pup is a senior and she went above and beyond to make sure his needs were met! She was very communicative, respectful and responsible with our animals and home! I will definitely be using her again and can’t rate her high enough.”

“Rory was fantastic! 11ish days with my temperamental chi and his 4 kitties... I will definitely be keeping her on my shortlist for future trips! Rory sent pics and videos during my trip to help ease my anxiety of being away from the babies. I can tell my brood had a good experience!”

“Amanda and Laura have been a blessing since we moved to the area! We were used to leaving the girls (two dogs, one cat) with our kids, so we were super-worried we wouldn't find someone that treated them like family -- but we did! Amanda has done both drop-ins while we are at work and stayed with them in our house while we went on trips, and in both cases, we get wonderful pictures and updates on how they are doing!! Amanda and Laura also coordinate to cover when the schedule isn't perfect for one or the other, allowing them to be flexible, even when I forget to book ahead and have to do it last-minute! We (and our pets) are so glad we found them!!”

“Darlene took great care of my high energy, anxiety prone dog while I was out of the country for two weeks. If she can handle my not-so-little bundle of fun I’m sure she can handle yours!”

“Haley was really great to work with! She was very communicative and left our house spotless and our dogs happy. We really appreicated her daily updates and felt the entire time we were away that our dogs were in great hands. Thanks Haley!”

“Robin was phenomenal and made us feel at ease while we were out of town. Our pup was completely comfortable with her, and we came home to a spotless house. We’ll absolutely be booking with her again if/when she's available!”

About: Having been in the pet care industry for almost a decade, I've never met a pet I didn't love! I'm comfortable working dogs large and small, cats aloof and cranky, and friends furry, scaley, or feathery! I can't wait to meet yours! Caring for animals is my full-time job, so your pet will be my top priority! Most weekends I work part time at a doggy daycare, and weekdays I spend my time out and about walking pups around town! With enough notice I can accommodate most any schedule or care that your baby is used to! I live in an apartment complex that sits next to a gorgeous natural area, and provides a large fenced in grassy area for dogs to run off leash! My 2 kitties are very respectful of other creatures, and everyone is welcome on all the furniture! Whatever your pet is used to, I'll make sure it feels like home!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 1,105 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Livermore. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Livermore walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Livermore maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Livermore choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Livermore. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
