“Isabella is great. She’s a great communicator, flexible and reliable. Bowie got a little bit of a sinus infection going on and she was willing to help administer his medication during her drop-in. I will definitely book again!”

“Kaya was SOOO amazing with our little senior man!! He can take a bit to warm up to people and she was so patient with him. She was such an attentive, communicative, and timely sitter - I would highly recommend her for drop ins and overnights!”

“Our two cats do not get along. Despite their territorial spats, Patrick has somehow managed to get our trouble makers to play nice! I am astounded to come home from our trips to find the cats as best buddies. Our home is automated for food and water, but the mental stimulation from quality playtime is something you cannot simulate from a machine. According to our two cats, they give him 4 paws up! You can expect from Patrick a sitter that follows directions, thoughtful comments, excellent photos, and reliable availability. Thank you!”

“Madeleine did a great job - last minute- and accommodated our needs for Hudson. She even suggested a quick meet and greet which is above and beyond for a same day walk. Hudson was well taken care of and Madeleine is a responsible young woman. Thanks again”
About: I’ve always had pets in my household, both cats and dogs! I’ve walked and pet sit multiple neighborhood/friend’s dogs and cats and I have done over 100 services for others! I’m an avid animal lover of all sizes! I’d love to meet your cute dog (or kitty!), get to know them, and then care for them as they need. I do not have injected medication listed as a skill, however, I am certified in IV and IM (muscular injections) in humans if that helps! I will almost guarantee your dog will be best friends with me after we meet. My schedule is quite random at the moment but I try to keep busy with pet care in my free time! Please reach out with a time/day first! I like to follow the pet parent’s instructions to make sure I start it on a good foot! Communication is always key to taking care of someone’s pet(s)! Whether something happens or it was just a good day, I love to share the details of the booking! If something is new to me, like a way of feeding or walking, I’d love to be shown how! That way I can confidently do it in the future! I also have leashes for walking dogs as well as poop bags just in case!
About: I’ve cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities, and I bring a calm, patient approach to every pup I work with. My background includes dog sitting, horse training, and general animal care, which has taught me how to read body language, build trust, and keep animals feeling safe and comfortable. I’m experienced with: - Puppies — gentle guidance, routine building, and lots of positive reinforcement - Senior dogs — slow, attentive care with a focus on comfort and consistency - High‑energy breeds — structured play, walks, and mental stimulation - Shy or anxious dogs — calm handling and a reassuring presence What sets me apart is my reliability, my genuine love for animals, and my ability to stay patient and confident in any situation. Whether your dog needs playtime, structure, or simply someone who will treat them with kindness, I’m committed to giving them the same level of care I’d want for my own pets. Pet care fits smoothly into my weekly routine. I’m in college Monday through Thursday from 8:30–2:00, and I work part‑time on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Outside of those hours, I’m home consistently and able to give dogs regular attention, walks, and check‑ins throughout the day. I keep a steady routine that helps pets feel comfortable — morning potty breaks, midday playtime, and calm evening wind‑downs. I’m flexible with timing and always make sure each dog stays on their normal feeding and walking schedule. Even on my busier days, I plan so that every pet gets the care, consistency, and affection they’re used to. When caring for pets, I focus on creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment where every dog can relax and feel at home. I pay close attention to each pet’s routine, body language, and comfort level so they always feel secure in my care. In my home, I keep the space clean, pet‑friendly, and free of hazards. Dogs get a cozy spot to rest, regular potty breaks, and plenty of supervised playtime. I make sure doors, gates, and personal items are secure so pets can explore safely without getting into anything they shouldn’t. In a client’s home, I treat the space with respect and follow the dog’s normal routine as closely as possible. I stick to their feeding schedule, walking habits, and any special instructions you provide. I always double‑check that doors are locked, crates are secure, and pets have fresh water before I leave. Above all, I prioritize trust — clear communication, consistent updates, and gentle, attentive care. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, loved, and understood, whether they’re staying with me or I’m caring for them in their own home.
“Taylor was THE best cat sitter! I had never left my cat for 10 days so I was incredibly anxious about it (I’m a worrier, I know), but Taylor instantly made me feel relieved. He sent updates, pictures and videos of my cat. She is a picky/demanding cat, so it made me incredibly pleased that they got along and bonded just fine! Taylor let me know everything I needed to know about my cat sprinkles, how she was doing, acting and eating, he emptied the litter box, changed her water and food, and gave her lots of pets! Great communication, great pics and videos of my cat, the best experience all around. I would 100% recommend Taylor if you’re looking for a pet sitter of any kind!”

About: I have taken care of a bunch of different pets over the course of 5 years. I have cared for and played with many animals ranging from lizards to bunnies to cats and dogs. I have babysat many furry babies including ones with special care like health problems or seniors. I currently work at the foothills mall about 6 hours a week so I’m free pretty much all the time. I do have one more year of school so during the school year I’m slightly busier. I have had dogs come to my house before for babysitting but I have a very nervous dog at home and I'd prefer not to.
“Jeni was a huge help! We need someone who could visit twice a day to put ointment in our cat’s eye and Jeni was available. She came over that night to meet our cat and took over the next day. She shared pictures of our cat every visit so we could track the infection. We wholeheartedly recommend Jeni!”

About: Although I don’t currently have a dog of my own, I’ve been caring for them since I was 10 years old. Growing up with dogs taught me the importance of routine, patience, and understanding each pup’s unique personality. Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, from playful puppies to senior dogs needing extra care. My lifelong love for dogs drives me to provide reliable, attentive, and loving care as if they were my own. I am currently a full time student at CSU so during the week it will be a little bit of in and out while I am in classes. For the most part, I can stop in 2-3 times a day around my schedule and overnights are no problem for me! When caring for pets in your home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I’ll follow your instructions closely, whether it’s feeding schedules, walk times, medication, or playtime preferences. I always treat your home with respect and make sure it stays clean and secure while you’re away. I understand that pets feel most comfortable in their own space, so I provide calm, attentive care to help them feel safe and loved until you return. From snuggles on the couch to solo playtime or quiet companionship, I adjust to your pet’s needs and personality.
About: Before attending CSU I worked for a professional pet care company for nearly 2 years where I managed daily walks for a variety of breeds, ages, and dispositions, administered specialized care and medication to dogs with conditions such as epilepsy, and fostered strong and trusting bonds with their owners. I am currently a student at Colorado State University so I am more available nights and weekends but my schedule is flexible! I can do walks in between classes as well. In a clients home I make sure I am very tidy. I hope to leave all homes better than I found them. I have 2 years of experience dog sitting for a professional care company where I stayed in other peoples homes, and I am happy to say they were all very satisfied with the conditions they returned to.

About: I have had my own dog for 7 years. I house sat for a couple family members more recently and I have loved spending times with all the pets!! I love to take dogs for walks and spend time outdoors but am free to fenced-play time as well. I am willing to feed and clean up messes during my time spent with your fur baby!!
“Richard did a wonderful job on the drop-in visits. He proved himself to be a real neighbor, spending time with my senior dogs and making sure they eat their meals. When thunderstorms came through, knowing how jittery they get, he made sure they were safe and in the house until the storms blew through. Thank you, Richard! You helped out in so many ways, all the reviews I’ve read about you were all true! Looking forward to letting you take care of my girls the next time!”

About: Hi, I'm 21 and I've spent the last 8+ years working with kids and families—most recently as an Assistant Program Director at a YMCA summer camp. That job taught me a lot about responsibility, patience, and caring for living things that can't always tell you what they need. That mindset carries right over to how I care for animals. I grew up with pets and have experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, cats with big personalities, and a few small critters too. I'm comfortable with walking, feeding, medication schedules, and handling the occasional mess or emergency without panicking. When I'm watching your pet, I treat your home with the same respect I'd want someone to treat mine. I'm happy to bring in mail, water plants, and leave the place cleaner than I found it—it's just part of the deal for me. I'm currently visiting family in Cincinnati with a wide-open schedule before a summer road trip, so I'm especially available for short-term sits, weekend care, and last-minute needs. I'll send you photos and updates so you never have to wonder how things are going back home. Let me know if your pet has any quirks, routines, or special needs—I'd love to meet them and make sure they feel safe and loved while you're away. Right now I'm between jobs and visiting family in Cincinnati, so my schedule is completely open. Pet care is my main focus—I'm available mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights, weekdays and weekends. I can build my day around your pet's routine instead of trying to squeeze them into a busy calendar. Walks, feedings, playtime, and just hanging out so they're not lonely—whatever rhythm your pet is used to, that's the rhythm I'll follow. I provide care exclusively in my client's home, where pets feel most comfortable and secure. I follow your instructions closely—feeding schedules, medication, leash protocols, doors and gates kept secure—and I treat your home with total respect. I'll send regular photo updates so you always know your pet is safe and happy. If anything seems off with your pet's behavior or health, I'll reach out immediately. Your pet's well-being and your trust are the most important things to me.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Livermore. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
