About: Like many people here, I have grown up with dogs and cats my whole life. I have helped train both family/friends pets with patience or redirecting behavior rather than relying on punishment. I am a treat heavy household so please let me know of any dietary restrictions! As for why I want help take care of your fur babies, iv promised myself to keep my menagerie at a minimum. I would love to incorporate some new fur friends into my daily routine. I'm more that happy to schedule meet and greets to see if I'm a good fir for you and your family! I'm usually free all day Sunday through Wednesday with the occasional errand runs throughout the day. I'm more than willing to work my schedule around your needs. As for Thursday through Saturday, I will be at work in the afternoons and evenings with fur babys being alone for about 7-8 hours (if they are staying with me or need drop by visits) In my home visits: I will provide walks, outside time in the back yard, and dog park excursions (if permitted). I will also incorporate feeding schedules, medication and any other personal requirements that are needed. Communication is key! In your home visits: I will provided walks on each visit (unless otherwise discussed) scheduled feedings and play/snuggle time. I would prefer not to do overnights unless I can bring my dog with me and all pets get along with in your home.

About: I have been taking care of dogs and cats for about 6 years now. I have walked and cared for many older dogs around the age of 10 years old or older, all loved with extreme care. I have a very energetic dog who tends to be wary of dogs and children, so I am understanding of how to care for animals that need more stimulation and exercise, and I also have cared for those that need love and attention shown with lower-energy activities. I am currently on summer break from college and am able to care for pets on most weekdays and some weekends depending on my availability. I have my own dog in the city and am very comfortable walking and taking care of her. I would care for your dog the same way you would both in and out of the home.
“Casey has been a lifesaver for our family! She is fantastic with our dog Lucy - always reinforcing good manners when she collects her for walks and bringing her back tired and smiling ear to ear. I trust her completely to make good decisions and keep Lucy and our home safe, and am looking forward to having her start regular walks with us again this school year.”

About: I’ve had a dog in my household ever since I was born, in that time 2 of my 6 dogs have had puppies which I have raised. As my dogs aged I’ve taken care of them in their senior state. After turning 16 I’ve expanded my care to the local dog shelter and within my neighborhood. I am currently in summer break from school until august 10 when I go to Colorado for college. I am free mostly any day before then. I have a fenced yard with 2 other dogs who live completely outside, they are great with other dogs. My parents and younger sister live with me. Unfortunately my father doesn’t allow larger dogs in the house so they will spend the day in the yard where there is water, shade, and if needed, a separate section to be away from my dogs.
“Wendy has been walking Virginia almost every week day for 4 weeks. She has always come on time and Virginia is always so excited for her walks. Wendy always includes a picture from her walk and let's me know if Virginia is acting different from normal which has helped me determine if she needs to see the vet. I would highly recommend Wendy to take care of your fur baby”

I love getting dogs outside for walks, playtime, and fresh air, while making sure they stick to their usual routine and feel comfortable. I’ll always provide lots of attention, keep their water full, and send updates so you know your pet is happy and well cared for!!

Kaylin is reliable, friendly, great with dogs, and responsive. And is even helping redirect/ leash train my very energetic 1 year old English setter! Kaylin also came through recently when I was very sick with pneumonia and my partner was out of town. Life saver that weekend!! Thankful we found her on Rover, can be hard to find people reliable and understanding of “extra” dogs like mine- very patient (with my dog and my ability at the rover app 😅).

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
