About: I have over ten years of experience pet sitting cats and dogs. Outside of having my own cat, I’ve been a trusted dog and cat sitter for several neighbors and friends. I also have experience with fostering cats, as well as handling high stress veterinary situation for both dogs and cats. I’m patient, caring, and extremely communicative. Your comfort and your pet’s comfort is my top priority. I’m available via text or call all hours of the day for updates, and appreciate honesty and respect. I work full-time in the office four days a week, however have flexible hours. I’m often available after 3pm Monday - Thursdays, and typically all day Friday - Sundays. I am comfortable staying at client’s home, and prefer having a meet-and-greet to familiarize myself with your pet and your home. My top priority is ensuring you feel safe with me around your home and with your pet.

About: I’ve had countless pets growing up, as my mom regularly rescues street dogs. We care for them until they get placed in shelters. I’ve been taught to handle all types of dogs from super energetic to calm dogs. I'm currently a senior at Menlo-Atherton High School. I'm always available on weekends. On weekdays I’m available anytime after 3pm, except Thursdays where I’m available anytime after 1pm. Beatriz took fantastic care of my cat. She was willing to step in last minute to take care of him when I left town. She sent lots of photos, played with him a lot and asked good questions when he wasn't eating his normal amount of food. Would love to have her back!

About: I have done short term pet sitting for my friends and neighbors, feeding their cats and dogs in the morning and night. I like to take the time to play with the pets too rather than being in and out. Personally, I have had 2 cats and 2 dogs and both my dogs are larger breeds. My golden lab was quite the trouble maker and I was present during his training, so I can say I will most likely be able to train walking etiquette for jumpy dogs. I have been around many animals from cats to sheep and they all took their time getting to know me, but in the end they all love me. I currently have no obligations so pet care would form my schedule. I can spend as much or as little time as you want with the critters! In my own home I have a fenced yard and easy outdoor access. I would go back and forth with the pet to make sure they are safe and seen and have adequate potty breaks. If the client wants the pet to remain in one spot I can make that happen as well.

About: I’ve had the joy of owning and caring for both dogs and cats over the years, giving me hands on experience with pets of different ages, personalities, and needs. I understand that every pet is unique, and I always strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. With dogs, I have experience raising one since he was a puppy, so I’m familiar with the patience, consistency, and attention they need as they grow. I have experience with daily walks, maintaining feeding schedules, and keeping dogs safe during walks by being mindful of things like hot pavement with this summer weather. Additionally, I taught my dog fun tricks including “sit” and “paw,” which Im willing to teach if wanted. I have even more experience with cats, having cared for my own cat for over three years as well as multiple kittens and stray cats. Through this experience, I’ve learned to recognize their different personalities, respect their boundaries, and provide the care and affection they need to feel comfortable. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply having someone to keep them company, I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I’d give my own pets. My goal is for both you and your furry family member to feel comfortable, confident, and worry free while you’re apart. I have a very flexible schedule this summer, which means I’m available for bookings throughout the whole week! Feel free to reach out anytime as I’d love to help care for your furry family members whenever you need a reliable sitter or walker. Please feel free to let me know before I care for your pet if you have any special requests, routines, or precautions you’d like me to follow. My goal is to make sure your pet feels as safe, comfortable, and loved as possible while you’re away. For example, if they don’t like being petted in certain areas, have specific feeding or medication schedules, need extra patience around new people or other animals, have favorite toys or walking routes, or have any other unique preferences, I’d be more than happy to accommodate them. Every pet is different, and I’m committed to providing the personalized care they deserve.

If you’re reading reviews looking for a sitter, just stop and book Marisol. We hired her to watch our dog Daisy during 3 day trip and couldn’t be happier. She was super COVID aware (gloves, mask, no shoes inside the apartment), and very attentive. Went out of her way to clean, and gave Daisy tons of attention and care. Daisy has sensitive paws, and Marisol did a great job making sure Daisy’s socks were on when they went out for play time. When we decided to extend our trip she was perfectly accommodating and able to do an extra day. Her update photos of Daisy were awesome as well ? Will 100% hire again during our next trip!

This was my first time using Rover, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Danielle! She was kind, calm, and attentive with Benek, which immediately made me feel comfortable leaving him in her care. I really appreciated her detailed updates throughout each visit and all the wonderful photos — she seriously took the best pictures of him! 🥹 Her calm and caring approach really put me at ease, especially since this was my first time having someone care for Benek while I was away. I’m so appreciative of how thoughtful she was, and I think Benek is too! 🐾 I would absolutely trust Danielle with him again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Palo Alto. On Rover:

  • 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
