“Nina and Leo is very kind and careful. They followed instructions and adapted to different situations - when we're away, there was an unexpected ant situation and unexpected outage. Leo and Nina went extra miles to help us keep our cats safe and comfortable, also kept our house everything in order. Very helpful and communicative!!”
“Savannah is responsive, professional, and so good with animals! This is the second time she's taken care of my kitty and my cat couldn't have been happier when I returned. Highly recommend Savannah as a pet sitter.”

“I booked with Megan for check-ins for my three cats over the holidays and she was amazing! From the meet and greet to her notes and pictures, she was professional and attentive. She went above and beyond providing care for my pets. After a few other lukewarm Rover experiences, I was so happy to find Megan.”

“Thanks Danielle! You were so kind to go back and check on something for me when you had already left. Always goes above and beyond to take care of my kitty. Highly recommend!”

“Rachel was amazing with our cat, Jasper! She was communicative, thoughtful and clearly genuinely cares. Her updates were detailed and reassuring and she went above and beyond—bringing in mail, spending extra time, and even leaving a sweet handwritten note and photo. Jasper clearly adored her and we felt so at ease while away. Highly recommend and would absolutely book again!”

“If you’re reading reviews looking for a sitter, just stop and book Marisol. We hired her to watch our dog Daisy during 3 day trip and couldn’t be happier. She was super COVID aware (gloves, mask, no shoes inside the apartment), and very attentive. Went out of her way to clean, and gave Daisy tons of attention and care. Daisy has sensitive paws, and Marisol did a great job making sure Daisy’s socks were on when they went out for play time. When we decided to extend our trip she was perfectly accommodating and able to do an extra day. Her update photos of Daisy were awesome as well ? Will 100% hire again during our next trip!”

“Samantha has been fantastic with our two cats! She has watched them twice now, and was attentive, communicative, and clearly cared about making our cats feel comfortable while we were away. We came home to two happy, relaxed kitties. We’d definitely book with her again—highly recommend!”

“Meg has had three really positive visits with our often super anxious cat. We love that our cat has been calm in Meg’s presence each time. We appreciate that Meg has been communicative each visit. We would recommend her and look forward to her checking in on our cat in the near future.”

“Beatriz took fantastic care of my cat. She was willing to step in last minute to take care of him when I left town. She sent lots of photos, played with him a lot and asked good questions when he wasn't eating his normal amount of food. Would love to have her back!”

“Maila did a great job dropping in on our cat, Felix, while we were away for a few days. She even let him play outside for a bit, which I’m sure he loved since he’s an indoor-outdoor cat and doesn’t get to go outside as much when we are traveling.”

“Cameron was very responsive and comfortable with handling my 65 pound dog. My dog also warmed up to him much quicker than he would with the average stranger/sitter. Thank you Cameron for a wonderful session.”

“Julia was wonderful! She dropped in to care for my 2 cats for three days. Her Rover cards were awesome with tons of pics and great feedback about her visit. Would definitely recommend!”

“I was nervous about finding a new person to watch out pets during travel, but I’m so glad I found Octavia! We came home to happy, relaxed pets and a clean place - I will definitely ask Octavia to take care is the fur fam again.”
“Ghazaal took great care of my fur baby! She followed my care guide closely so my cat was well taken care of and happy when I returned from vacation. Ghazaal pays close attention to what Kola needs and goes above and beyond taking care of her :)”

“Emma was fantastic. We were so lucky to find her last minute over a holiday weekend. My two cats warmed up to her quickly, she was incredibly prompt and thorough with communication, and we got hilarious photos after every check-in. I'm crossing my fingers she'll be available again next time we go out of town.”

“Caroline is amazing! She was able to fill in for an emergency sitting request and take care of my boys. They love her, and she takes great care of them, and provides great updates and pictures throughout. I fully recommend her!”

“Highly recommend Jas! Every visit has been so easy and the updates we get are super informative. We had an issue where our cat had a hairball (typical!) and Jas let us know promptly and gave us feeding updates as the cat recovered. Great professionalism and feedback!”

Rachel is amazing! She is really clued in to our cat’s well being and quirky habits. Her daily reports (including things she notices that are non-pet related, like houseplant watering needs) and attention to detail make us feel completely at ease while we are gone. She’s the absolute best!!!
Jess is awesome! Incredibly attentive, responsive and caring. My kitty is older and needs lots of affection- he didn’t even seem to notice I was gone with Jess coming to care for him. I cannot recommend her highly enough!! Thank you Jess for being such a wonderful cat sitter for Carl!

Beatriz took fantastic care of my cat. She was willing to step in last minute to take care of him when I left town. She sent lots of photos, played with him a lot and asked good questions when he wasn't eating his normal amount of food. Would love to have her back!

Katelyn was absolutely incredible with my two cats! She did a fantastic job feeding and playing with them, and she sent tons of wonderful photo updates that totally put my mind at ease. On top of that, one of my kitties had a messy bathroom accident, and she went above and beyond to clean everything up.

Ally was so great taking care of our senior cat. He needs medication and some extra care so having Ally give him the right attention was important to us. Ally gave us detailed updates and pictures throughout our vacation which helps us know our cat is well taken care of. Highly recommend Ally for any pet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Palo Alto. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
