“This was our first time having Rachel look after our boys! She did an excellent job and was stellar with her questions and attention to detail. She had questions for us about details we forgot on our OWN cat instructions. If you are looking for a new cat sitter - look no further!”

“Beatriz was truly great with my cat. He got a URI right before my trip and she gave him all of his meds with a little extra TLC. He was a very happy boy when I got home. I’m so glad she took such good care of him 😊”

“We booked Ian again for drop in visits while away. Once again, he went above and beyond for us. I always feel at ease leaving our home knowing Ian will be there to care for our furry family. Thank you, Ian!!”
“Danielle is awesome! We scheduled meet-and-greet prior to the pet sitting so that we can meet in person and Danielle knows where everything is. My cat is too shy and timid to come out and play with her, but Danielle took care of the daily chores for my cat and sent me detailed notes daily. Highly recommend her for your pet :)”

“Savannah did a wonderful job with our one cat, Smudgie, and the one feral cat that gets fed here as well. She really is the best and plan to use her whenever we leave town. Thanks, again, Savannah for taking such great care of these cats!”

“Marisol took great care of our cat, Martin, for a week. She sent lots of pictures and updates about how he was doing. She also took great care of our house and even swept before we came home. We are planning on rebooking her. Highly recommend especially for cat owners.”
“Sjofn was soooooo happy to get so many belly rubs she was thrilled and didn’t want them to leave. I highly recommend Guilherme and his wife. Sjofn would be thrilled to get more belly rubs and I would be happy to have them watch her again :)”

About: I’ve taken care of animals ever since I was a child. Dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens- you name it! I genuinely care for your fur babies as you would. I work from home and have a flexible schedule. We can work around what you need. Message me and we will work something out :) I can’t have pets at my current apartment, unfortunately. I can take incredible care of your pet at your home. I’ve had pets all my life and I’m the trusted friend/relative when anybody needs a sitter, you can rest assured they’re in good hands with me!
“Isabel SAVED THE DAY...no joke. We'd planned to board our 5-mo-old pup, Kaia, at a boarding place, but she contracted kennel cough on her trial visit there (yikes). Isabel agreed to 3x day house visits for Kaia. She gave her the medicine and played with her at home. THEN, Saga II, Kaia learned to jump the baby gates in our house, so Isabel volunteered to take Kaia all around with her during the day and crate her at night. This was so responsive and proactive. Isabel communicated throughout the visit, installed our much taller gate ordered rush, and sent me tons of pics of Kaia playing with her other pups she watches. I could not recommend her more highly. She truly cares about our dog, and it showed in every way. Our house was in perfect working order when we returned.”

About: We’re an engaged couple living in East Palo Alto and looking for more opportunities to spend quality time with animals! We’ve been trusted dog and cat sitters for friends and family for years, and recently decided to give Rover a try. We’d love to provide your pet with extra love, attention, and care while you’re away or taking some time for yourself. We can’t wait to meet your furry family member! 🥰 One of our favorite things to do is go on walks together. We always joke and say we’re meant to have a pet, and we’re sure we will have our own one day. We walk daily during our lunch breaks and each evening after work. We’d love to take your pet with us! We live in a house with a private fenced backyard. We have no pets or kids in our house and we plan to take care of one pet/family at a time so we can give them our full attention and make sure they are as comfortable as can be.
About: I’ve taken care of my families and friends pets many times throughout my life and I’ve always heard positive feedback! Would love to help out others. It brings me serotonin and gives me that extra boost in my week to spend some time with animals and show them some love too I have a fenced yard and lots of grass space, and plenty of sun. Not to mention a park within walking distance of my house
About: I grew up around dogs and even fostered a few throughout my college years. I have the strength to walk any dog and am very active if they need lots of walking. I understand their personalities and always lead with love🐶 I’m currently working part time and am always open to working around your schedule. Weekends during the day are always busier for me but I’m flexible and will put your pet first. Pets at my home have the apartment to run free, although I do not have outdoor space those who require it will get more than enough outdoor time. I spend most of my time outdoors and they are always welcome to join.

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs for 4+ years. Friends and neighbors have entrusted me with both their pets and homes! Services have included simple house care, and walking and feeding of pets. I’m currently studying full time at Santa Clara University so my daily routine varies on my class schedule. Right now I’m currently on summer break but working so my availability typically runs after 5pm and free on the weekends I am very respectful and mindful of my clients homes. I leave the home in the same condition it was left to me. I clean up after the dog/ cat whenever needed!
About: I have helped foster dogs for at least 5 years now. I understand that each dog may require their own individual needs and care, which is why I am open minded to trying different ways to look after each dog. I work a part-time job in retail. This means that I have a lot of open and free time to help look after peoples' dogs. In my home, I cared for my dog by trying to keep him entertained, showering him with affection, and taking him out on walks, and I make absolute sure that he is as healthy as can be.

About: I have done short term pet sitting for my friends and neighbors, feeding their cats and dogs in the morning and night. I like to take the time to play with the pets too rather than being in and out. Personally, I have had 2 cats and 2 dogs and both my dogs are larger breeds. My golden lab was quite the trouble maker and I was present during his training, so I can say I will most likely be able to train walking etiquette for jumpy dogs. I have been around many animals from cats to sheep and they all took their time getting to know me, but in the end they all love me. I currently have no obligations so pet care would form my schedule. I can spend as much or as little time as you want with the critters! In my own home I have a fenced yard and easy outdoor access. I would go back and forth with the pet to make sure they are safe and seen and have adequate potty breaks. If the client wants the pet to remain in one spot I can make that happen as well.
About: I was inspired by my sister, Delila, who has been working with animals for as long as I can remember. I continue to help her and her growing business, del’s dog walking. I’m a behavior specialist with a Master’s in Education and Human Development. I teach children and adults. Thanks to Rover, I’m working with animals, too! Full-time Catholic. And part-time volunteer. Due to my flexible schedule, I can take your pets on an adventure where ever we are called to go! If I’m petsitting, I will make sure the pets are fed and exercised. I can do light grooming. I can also take your dog to the dog park and practice basic commands and training.
About: Hi, I’m a higher education professional based in the Bay Area! I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 12 years old and have extensive experience with animals of all sizes, ages, and needs—including fostering dogs in search of forever homes and pet-sitting for neighbors. I am a massive animal lover and have four dogs of my own, including our newest addition, Roberto! I treat every pet like they are my own (and honestly, love them more than people at times!). Having joined Rover years ago in the UK, to give back to the community that has taken such great care of my own pets, I’m well-equipped with the skills needed—feeding, walking, bathing, and giving endless affection. Surrounded by dogs my whole life, I’d be thrilled to provide your pets with the same love, care, and attention I give my own. I am currently free when needed. I will always let you know if I am not since I work hybrid at times. When sitting your pet, I would make sure she/he has what they need at the time necessary. I love to play and give lots of cuddles, so no need to worry about them not getting loved or attention. Overall, I would care for your pet as I care for my own. I work hybrid but I love to care for doggies when I get the chance. I am home mostly all weekends so if you want to get out and go somewhere, I can always care for your dogs like I do for mine. We have a dog park in our apartment complex, so they will have a lot of time to play. We have four dogs who love to be active well two of them. Plus, we have a dog spa so if they are dirty we can clean them up pretty quick

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - East Palo Alto
This was my first time using rover and I am so happy I found Rachel! She was flexible, accommodating, and did everything and beyond for my kitties. One of my cats is very scared of people and doesn’t like changes so I am so scared to leave him, he came out to her and she send a lot of pictures on the rover card. I felt at ease knowing she would take care of him so I could enjoy my vacation. Would definitely recommend her and I will be using her every time she’s available in the future!
Jess is awesome! Incredibly attentive, responsive and caring. My kitty is older and needs lots of affection- he didn’t even seem to notice I was gone with Jess coming to care for him. I cannot recommend her highly enough!! Thank you Jess for being such a wonderful cat sitter for Carl!

Katelyn was absolutely incredible with my two cats! She did a fantastic job feeding and playing with them, and she sent tons of wonderful photo updates that totally put my mind at ease. On top of that, one of my kitties had a messy bathroom accident, and she went above and beyond to clean everything up.

Ally was so great taking care of our senior cat. He needs medication and some extra care so having Ally give him the right attention was important to us. Ally gave us detailed updates and pictures throughout our vacation which helps us know our cat is well taken care of. Highly recommend Ally for any pet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
