“Sjofn was soooooo happy to get so many belly rubs she was thrilled and didn’t want them to leave. I highly recommend Guilherme and his wife. Sjofn would be thrilled to get more belly rubs and I would be happy to have them watch her again :)”

“Jess was awesome! We had a change of plans last minute before the Memorial Day weekend and I was able to find Jess the day before we left. We scheduled a meet and greet the day we were leaving to give her the rundown on how to take care of our dog (Bella), 3 guinea pigs, and rabbit. She took it all in and exceeded my expectations as I was expecting a phone call or message about something but I never did. She absolutely took great care of all of our animals!”
“Ka Ying was able to take care of Kuma and Jiji on incredible short notice. We didn't get to meet in person but she was able to understand what care that our two black cats needed. She is definitely someone worth booking and we trust her with our pets.”

“Maria took great care of our two cats while away! She sent regular photo updates, and we returned to happy pets. Her genuine affection for animals made our time away worry-free. Highly recommended!”
About: Hello, my name is Aaron! I've been an animal lover my whole life! Growing up, I was always surrounded by pets, and I even trained dogs just for fun. It taught me a lot about building trust and having a good time with furry friends. I'm excited to bring that same love and positive energy to caring for your pets, whether we're going for a walk or just hanging out. I currently work full-time during the weak from 7am-3:30 pm in San Francisco. I have plenty of time during the evenings for walks or play dates! During the weekends, my schedule is free! My pets have a fenced back yard they play in all the time. There is a pool but it is always covered so no worries.

About: I’ve had the joy of owning and caring for both dogs and cats over the years, giving me hands-on experience with pets of different ages, personalities, and needs. I understand that every pet is unique, and I always strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. With dogs, I have experience raising one from puppyhood, so I’m familiar with the patience, consistency, and attention they need as they grow. I have experience with daily walks, maintaining feeding schedules, and keeping dogs safe during walks by being mindful of things like hot pavement with summer weather. Additionally, I taught my dog fun tricks like “sit” and “paw,” which strengthened our bond and reinforced positive behavior. I have even more experience with cats, having cared for my own cat for over three years as well as multiple kittens and stray cats. Through this experience, I’ve learned to recognize their different personalities, respect their boundaries, and provide the care, patience, and affection they need to feel comfortable. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having someone dependable to keep them company, I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I’d give my own pets. My goal is for both you and your furry family member to feel comfortable, confident, and worry-free while you’re apart. I have a very flexible schedule this summer, which means I’m available for bookings throughout the whole week! Feel free to reach out anytime as I’d love to help care for your furry family members whenever you need a reliable sitter or walker. Please feel free to let me know before I care for your pet if you have any special requests, routines, or precautions you’d like me to follow. My goal is to make sure your pet feels as safe, comfortable, and loved as possible while you’re away. For example, if they don’t like being petted in certain areas, have specific feeding or medication schedules, need extra patience around new people or other animals, have favorite toys or walking routes, or have any other unique preferences, I’d be more than happy to accommodate them. Every pet is different, and I’m committed to providing the personalized care they deserve.

About: My family has fostered puppies and kittens since I was 10, giving me over 12 years of experience in caring for animals. I love giving animals the best care possible and I’d love to meet yours! I currently work a hybrid schedule on the Stanford campus, allowing me to offer care in the mornings and evenings, as well as over lunch if needed. I’m also open to full-time care on the weekends and would love to spend time with your animals! Keeping your animals safe is my top priority! Understanding and upholding your expectations with your animals is my goal and key to keeping your animals safe!

About: I've cared for the dogs and cats of close friends and family, and I take that responsibility seriously every time. At home, I share my space with my own dog and three cats, so your pet will be in the care of experienced hands. I'm the kind of sitter who sends updates, sticks to routines, and makes sure every pet feels safe and comfortable — because I know how much your fur baby means to you. My working hours are flexible so I can fit your schedule and the needs of your pets with ease. I am open to pet sitting from 8am to 11pm on weekdays and weekends I am committed to send updates, sticks to routines, and makes sure every pet feels safe and comfortable — because I know how much your fur baby means to you.
“Cameron is absolutely amazing. He took care of our 3 cats for a few days and did a great job. One of our cats is very difficult and poops on the floor instead of pooping in the litter, but he was great at cleaning, for which we were really grateful. He is very good at communicating and very reliable. We are very grateful we found him and we will use his services for sure in the future.”

About: Over the years I’ve noticed that I can’t think of a single bad experience that I’ve had with cats/dogs. Pretty much every single animal I have crossed paths with has grown comfortable with me if not immediately. I think maybe it’s the way I approach animals, im always talking to them like they’re humans for some reason and it almost seems like they can understand me. And I like to tell myself I can understand them and their silent expressions. This is what draws me to animals so much. That silent understanding and comfort is what makes me love animals so much. I’m currently on summer break while working 2 part time jobs, one is a weekend job only at a pottery shop called color me mine and on top of that I work as an assistant for a home stager! My schedule with her isn’t consistent so I’m looking for one more flexible job. Unfortunately I’m living in a pretty small studio while I study interior design. Because of that I had to leave my pets at home and I decided to rescue an indoor cat in need of a safe home. I got him a window perch which he loves to watch cats and birds on. And every day I make sure to leave my front door open for him so he can watch from the screen with some fresh air. I’ve actually tried to get him outdoors a few times on a harness so he could get familiar with the area but since it’s kind of a busy area the sounds were freaking him out. He loves being pet and snuggling up under my blanket so I give him as much affection as I can throughout the day even if that means I go through endless amounts of lint rollers to get all his hair off of me!! I love taking dogs on walks that’s the only thing I wish cats were more comfortable doing haha!

About: Besides working my morning job I love to take care pets. I used to pet care couple years and have helped my aunt with her 3 dogs that needed daily walks! I always took care of them as if they were my own! I also have experience with elderly dogs who needed more attention and needed to be given medication daily. I enjoy going outside long or short walks and it’s always great to have a walking partner! I have a one full time job, so this would be 8 hour shifts. I mostly work early in the morning. But besides that I would love to be your pets new playmate! I can adjust and make the free time around my working hours. So please don’t hesitate to reach out! I will always treat your pet as if they were my own! Meaning they will be given unconditional love lots of playtime and attention! With my own pet she is the queen of the house and I am there to take care of her the best I can! You won’t have to worry while they are with me!
“Julie was great. Very conscientious and proactive. Our cats hide from strangers but Julie sought them out and tried to get them to be less fearful. We would definitely book with her again.”

“Genevieve was very thorough and provided check-ins and followups in unclear situations (e.g. my cat has a medical condition and she was attentive and checked with me on his symptoms regularly). She also cleaned my apartment/countertops on the last day which I really appreciated!”

“Lena was absolutely perfect and gave us peace of mind while we were on vacation watching our two cats. She was kind, reliable, kept in communication with us the whole time and gave us pictures daily. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone who has pets they love.”

About: I grew up with dogs and hamsters as a kid, but my love for animals didn’t end there. I raised and trained two dogs from puppies to adult. I volunteered at the SPCA socializing cats. I adopted and raised cats from kitten to adult. I currently have a 15 yr old and two 2.5 yr old cats. I have helped dog sit and cat sit for friends over the years and fostered several litters of dogs and a few cats. I love animals and will ensure yours gets the attention, care and time they deserve. I’m currently a teacher on summer break . I’m traveling for some of June but around in July with low key plans around the area. I’d fit my plans around your fur baby’s needs. I will follow the needs you share of your pets and your expectations , and use my skillset to connect with your animals at the level they are comfortable with.
About: I live with my wife, baby girl, cat, and dog in Palo Alto. At home, I am the CPO (chief poop officer). I've experience with administering flea medicine for cats and dogs. I make sure the pets have food and water. I've trained my current and past dogs (sit, stay, go home, come, leave it, look at me, and other commands). I am responsible and clean up after the animals whether it's poop or vomit. Furry animals make me happy. I'm extroverted, so I am also social and easy to communicate with. I can care for your pet as long as I'm available. I've a flexible work schedule, and am on holiday for two weeks starting the week of Christmas. I have a cat and dog that likes to run out of the door, so I am careful when going in and out of the house. I'd do the same for you. I make sure they've food and water. If the dog goes on a hike where there are tall grass, then I'd check for ticks after the walk and use a tweezer to remove the tick if needed. If the cat or dog has its tail between its legs, then I'd approach slowly and walk around them to not make them too uncomfortable. If the cat's tail is up and approaches, then I give him/her a scratch on the head or chin. If dog's tail is wagging, then I'd definitely pet him/her. If the pet has dietary restrictions, then I will follow the owner's dietary guideline.
“Natalie was absolutely wonderful!! My girls (Romy and Michele, two very felonious felines) immediately warmed up to her and she loved them as if they were her own. Natalie was exceptionally communicative, took many pictures, and it was clear that she genuinely enjoyed being with my girls. I will DEFINITELY be using Natalie again, and I cannot recommend her in the strongest enough terms to any cat parent!”

Kathrine checked in on our cat, Hadoop, twice a day reliably. She has great communication, is very friendly, and made my older cat feel comfortable right away. She was able to give him his pills no problem and I appreciate that she asked when she had a question. Would definitely recommended her!

Beatriz took fantastic care of my cat. She was willing to step in last minute to take care of him when I left town. She sent lots of photos, played with him a lot and asked good questions when he wasn't eating his normal amount of food. Would love to have her back!

Michael was amazing. He understood every ask I gave of him, even those that were conditional on what he saw at our house. He made sure to give my cat the full time, and never let her out of his sight while he was with her. I would happily book him again to take care of my cat

Katelyn was absolutely incredible with my two cats! She did a fantastic job feeding and playing with them, and she sent tons of wonderful photo updates that totally put my mind at ease. On top of that, one of my kitties had a messy bathroom accident, and she went above and beyond to clean everything up.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
