“Angela & her partner were so so lovely! I got cute photos & updates and they were super flexible when I was running late to pick my dog up from them. Would totally use again!! Thanks so much Angela!”

“Christy was wonderful with our dog. It was our first time leaving her with a dogsitter, and we were nervous because she has a lot of puppy energy still (she is one). But Christy was lovely, she sent regular updates and photos, and our dog came home so happy. I would absolutely recommend Christy! She is warm, quick to reply, and professional. Thank you so much!”

“Ida took such great care of our girl - she went on so many fun adventures, even a trip out to a pet-friendly restaurant! Her time was full of play with her girl Nala, so she came home absolutely pooped. She sent many photo updates to keep us at ease at how our baby was doing. We’ll definitely book with her again!”

“Juno had a lovely stay at Bill and Gerie’s! Communication with them was great and we loved getting updates sent to us. We’ll definitely be rebooking with them in the future!”

About: I have been around and loving all animals for my whole life. I have had my cats and even over 40 chickens to care for. I have been working with dogs and training them for over a year. Caring for animals in general for 10 years. I give the animals in my care my full attention and love. Taking care of dogs is definitely a huge part of my love for life. I work from home so it fits perfectly. My 8 year old daughter loves all animals and helps out as well. When she is in school or when I take her to her fathers I will be out. Willing to have dogs in my car if they are okay in vehicles I live in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood. With this house we have a fenced in yard and no other pets in the home currently. My focus will be solely on the animals I care for.
“Stephanie was amazing with my dog, Olive! Her two dogs were so well-behaved and got along great with Olive. She kept me updated throughout the stay, sent me adorable pictures, and made me feel completely at ease. I could tell Olive was happy and well cared for. We will definitely be using Stephanie again in the future. Thank you so much!”

“Stephanie was very kind in assisting us to sea plane while picking up our dog. She followed our wishes and was on time and dependable with our pet. Highly recommend!”

“Lisa was fantastic with Artemis! She was on time, and clearly gave Artemis great care; regular walks kept her active and happy. What really stood out was Lisa noticing when we were running low on dog food and offering to pick up more in case we were running late. She also gave us multiple touchpoints throughout our trip, which we appreciated. We highly recommend Lisa to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog sitter!”

“Kristen and Guy were really wonderful hosts to our beloved Dolly. They were very communicative throughout her 2 day stay, which was so appreciated. They have a very friendly lab Rory, who took good care of Dolly himself. Would absolutely choose Kristen again next time we are in the area!”

“Rachel is absolutely amazing! She took care of our dogs in her home for an entire week while we were out of the country, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the moment we dropped them off, we knew they were in excellent hands. Rachel kept us updated daily with messages and photos, showing how much fun the dogs were having and how well they were being cared for. It was clear they felt right at home, and Rachel treated them like part of her own family. We’re so grateful for Rachel’s exceptional care and attention to detail. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet sitter. She truly went above and beyond!”

“After months of stressing and trying to find the perfect sitter for our 12 yr old baby boy, we found Amanda 5 days before our 12 day vacation. The minute Sam stepped into her home, he was ready to stay with her. It was the perfect meet and greet. I got updates everyday and Sammy was smiling in every picture. Amanda treated Sammy like family, making our vacation so care free. We are so happy to have found Amanda, her sweet son and lil pup. Sammy came home a very happy boy. Thank you, Amanda. We adore you and are excited to leave Sammy in your care again.”

“Neil was very caring and communicated regularly with pictures throughout Laves stay. Lave got plenty of exercise and love , I will book again when visiting Victoria . Very good experience !”

About: Hi there! I’m Carolyn, and I’m passionate about providing top-tier care for your pets. With a lifelong love for dogs, I grew up with four Australian Shepherds and now share my life with Moose, my own furry companion. I understand that every dog has its own unique personality, and I have experience working with pets of all ages—from energetic puppies to seasoned seniors. In addition to caring for my own dog, I previously fostered rescue dogs in my free time, which has further deepened my understanding of various dog temperaments and needs. My most defining characteristics include empathy, patience, reliability, punctuality, energy, and an unwavering love for animals. I have experience working with dogs with different training and energy levels. I offer a luxury pet care experience designed to give your pet the individual attention they deserve. I always encourage a meet-and-greet before providing services to ensure we’re a perfect match. Please note, I can only care for pets who meet the following requirements: up to date on vaccinations, crate trained (boarding), potty trained (boarding), no human aggression, no dog aggression. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities, and I strive to create an environment where they feel comfortable. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine as I’m an avid dog walker, which gives me the perfect balance of exercise and quality time with animals. I work full time 9-5 (ish) Tues-Sat. I take pride in offering an enjoyable, energetic walk that caters to your dog's individual pace and needs. Whether it’s a brisk walk for high-energy dogs or a leisurely stroll for those who prefer a slower pace, I make sure to create a positive experience for them. For drop-in visits, I’m always cautious when entering and leaving your home, especially if your pet is an expert escape artist! I take extra care to ensure they don’t slip out unnoticed, and I make sure their environment remains secure and stress-free. I’m dedicated to providing the highest level of care, keeping your pets safe and comfortable at all times.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Bay
Stacey is our go-to sitter for our corgi Valkyrie. Val has been enough times that at the most recent drop-off, she didn't even look back at us when we left haha. She always has a really good time, and my spouse and I have peace of mind knowing our dog is getting great care from someone we trust.

We had a wonderful experience with Suzanne while we were away for 10 days. She sent us plenty of photos and updates, which gave us great peace of mind and let us follow along with all of our dog’s fun adventures. Our dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. We would happily book with her again!

We could tell Millie had a great time with McKenna! Millie can be indifferent at best and anxious at worst with new people, and McKenna, with her experience with reactive dogs, was patient and calm with her. Great communication and frequent updates too. We were so comfortable with McKenna looking after Millie that we rebooked her immediately before her current stay was over.

Kori and Lola took great care of Bleu while we were out of town for 4 days. Bleu bonded with them immediately and seemed to settle right in from the start. Kori provided frequent updates and photos showing Bleu enjoying great walks and hikes. We are so pleased we found Kori.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
