“Monica is a very compassionate and capable pet sitter. I love receiving the frequent updates and know that Koa is getting lots of exercise and is in great hands. It sure takes the worry out of leaving your pet when you know that they are in a safe, loving and nurturing home.”

“Alex was amazing with Charlie. He took great care of him, sent regular updates, and I could tell Charlie was happy and comfortable. Highly recommend and will definitely book again.”

“Lisa, Craig and their daughter were great with our Pom Roxy for the two night stay! They gave her all her meds and lots of love and attention while we were away. We would recommend them to anyone, they clearly love dogs and take great care to incorporate them into their family.”

“Suzanne is a terrific dog care giver. I really can’t thank her enough for caring for Cooper. Many walks, lots of play and love. She is marvelous. I will make her my go to sitter. ❤️”

“My first Rover experience and a very positive one! Anqian and Alexandre sent sweet updates of my cat Ham and really gave me peace of mind that he was in good hands! Thank you!”

“I am so appreciative of Neil — he took such good care of TUKA! She has some special needs (separation stress/prey drive) and Neil was super attentive! She warmed up to him right away and they were best buds instantly. I am very happy to have someone I can trust to take care of her who also sends little updates along the way so I know she’s getting all of her needs met. I will absolutely be booking him again!”

“Amelia was very phenomenal taking care of my dog Tails. She was also very accommodating and understanding when I couldn't make it on time for pick up due to flight disruption. Strongly recommended to everyone for her outstanding service.”

“We were very happy to have been able to find Lisa during our trip to Vancouver Island. It is so great to have this service while visiting!! She took great care of our pups!”

“Allan is amazing. Every day our dog was with Allan, Allan took him for walks and he would send us photos. Our dog looked so happy. When we picked up our dog he was happy to see us but wouldn't get in our car to go home until he said goodbye to Allan.”

“Ada and her husband Nick are amazing, they cared for my cat while I was away. They are extremely responsive and took wonderful care of her. The pictures they sent were beautiful and showed how relaxed Zazu was staying with them.”

“Stephanie is awesome! She got Hank in last minute, was very flexible with excellent communication beforehand. And with her large dog experience and extensive knowledge with training, Hank had the best time! He made lots of new friends and was nice and tired when he got home. I totally recommend Stephanie. :)”

“Kirsten & family had our happy & energetic 9 month shephard/husky pup for 5 days, and I couldn't speak more highly of the experience. They were very welcoming, our puppy and their Lab got along fantastically, and we received lots of wonderful updates. I'm super grateful they were happy to have her crate in their room, so she could sleep nearby, and we picked up a very happy and tired dog :) Thank you!”

“After months of stressing and trying to find the perfect sitter for our 12 yr old baby boy, we found Amanda 5 days before our 12 day vacation. The minute Sam stepped into her home, he was ready to stay with her. It was the perfect meet and greet. I got updates everyday and Sammy was smiling in every picture. Amanda treated Sammy like family, making our vacation so care free. We are so happy to have found Amanda, her sweet son and lil pup. Sammy came home a very happy boy. Thank you, Amanda. We adore you and are excited to leave Sammy in your care again.”

“Shravistha was incredibly responsive, kind, and flexible during a stressful moment in our trip to Victoria. As travelers with a dog, we suddenly found ourselves in a difficult situation late at night, and her quick communication and willingness to help gave us real peace of mind. Even though our plans changed afterward, we truly appreciated her understanding and support. Highly recommend!”

“Susan was wonderful introducing Rio to her dog and the two of them reportedly got along wonderfully. With a nice secure yard for Rio to run around in, a BFF to play with, and a nurturing environment, Rio seemed to enjoy her stay, and I'd happily recommend Susan.”

Heather and her family were amazing with our maltipoo. Due to his recent neck injury, we were looking for someone who didn't have a pet in their home. We didn't want him to get into "rough play" with another furry peer. He had a great stay, and he got to go out and about with the family. We appreciated the photos that Heather sent and the specific details in her messages. We knew by what she said that she understood our little guy's temperament and personality. We feel our senior dog was truly loved and cared for, and we have made another booking with Heather for an upcoming trip. We found her to be flexible, and she was open to us dropping by before he boarded to meet with her and her family. This gave us a great sense of the home and Heather's philosophy of pet care.

Angela was super helpful and attentive even before I officially booked with her, which gave me a lot of confidence from the start. Both Angela and her partner were great with Rico, and he seemed to really enjoy his time with them too. I’d definitely recommend them and wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again!

We recently left our dog with Lauren for 2 whole weeks! We'd never left her this long with anyone and it was our first time using a Rover sitter for her. Lauren put us at ease by making time to meet with her long before we booked. We were invited into her home and shown her backyard, time to chat and ask questions. One of my main concerns in leaving our dog was that she has a gastro issue and therefore needs to eat multiple smaller meals throughout the day. The questions she had for us indicated a level of care, experience and dedication that I hadn’t seen in meeting previous Rover sitters. Anyone who has a fur baby knows its not easy to leave them with someone. It can cause a lot of anxiety for us humans, as well as our little ones. We were so happy with the care and love Lauren provided to her. She sent us multiple updates a day with amazing photos, which put our minds at ease. We were also in a different time zone, and Lauren still ensured we were kept up to date. Our pup enjoyed her own vacation, meeting new dog friends for walks and Lauren let her sleep in the bed! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lauren to anyone looking for someone to care for their animals and can't praise her enough! I think they developed a sweet bond and we are so grateful. Thank you so much again, Lauren!

We went to New Zealand for 6 weeks. Alisa looked after Lucy and sent us photos. Alisa communicated often and sent us photo’s of Lucy relaxing in the house, playing with Haiko and going on walks. If I asked any questions, Alisa responded quickly. I knew that Lucy was well looked after, and because of Alisa’s care we were never worried and could enjoy our time away. I will only use Alisa and family in future to look after Lucy. I recommend Alisa highly.

We could tell Millie had a great time with McKenna! Millie can be indifferent at best and anxious at worst with new people, and McKenna, with her experience with reactive dogs, was patient and calm with her. Great communication and frequent updates too. We were so comfortable with McKenna looking after Millie that we rebooked her immediately before her current stay was over.

Kori and Lola took great care of Bleu while we were out of town for 4 days. Bleu bonded with them immediately and seemed to settle right in from the start. Kori provided frequent updates and photos showing Bleu enjoying great walks and hikes. We are so pleased we found Kori.

Callum was amazing with our dog. She boarded with him for a week over Christmas and she had the best time! He was patient with her when she on guard for the first few days and she didn't want to leave by the end of the week. We will definitely be using Callum for everything moving forward. Thank you Callum!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
