About: I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and energy levels, and I’m comfortable adapting care to each dog’s routine and needs. I focus on calm, consistent handling and clear expectations, which helps dogs settle quickly. I’m attentive on walks, respectful of training cues, and comfortable supporting puppies as well as senior dogs. I follow care instructions closely, keep environments safe and structured, and pay attention to behaviour or health changes. You can expect reliable communication, thoughtful updates, and care that prioritizes your dog’s wellbeing while you’re away. Although I work full time, I have flexibility to work from home when needed, which allows me to build pet care smoothly into my daily routine. When working in the office I commute to Nanaimo, which means I can provide home care to pets from Shawnigan Lake to Nanaimo. I focus on creating a safe, calm environment for pets, both in my home and in clients’ homes. I stick to routines, follow instructions carefully, and pay close attention to safety on walks and at home. I’m respectful of clients’ spaces and keep things clean and secure. You’ll receive regular updates so you can feel confident your pet is well cared for.

Everyday she sent me pictures of him smiling ear to ear while doing his favourite things like off-leash walks, swimming, playing tug and keeping an eye on things from the front porch. Auggie is selective with other dogs (aren’t we all?) and Megan was so understanding, she took things nice and slow while introducing him to the other pups on the property. It went so well that I got a picture on the last day of Auggie and another pup having a swim together! It goes to show how comfortable and at ease Auggie was in Megan’s presence. About: We’ve always had dogs and currently have three rescue pups of our own. Over the years we’ve cared for dogs with all kinds of personalities, from confident social butterflies to dogs that need a little more time to warm up. We know every dog is different and do our best to make them feel comfortable, safe, and part of the family while they’re with us. One of us works from home during the week, and we’re both around most weekends. That means lots of company, potty breaks, outdoor time, play, and cuddles throughout the day. We live on a fully fenced half-acre property with plenty of space to run, play, sniff, and explore. Our home is kennel-free, and dogs are welcome to make themselves comfortable wherever they like. We treat every dog as if they were our own. We are certified in Level 1 Dog CPR and First Aid, and all dogs staying with us must be current on their vaccinations to help ensure a safe environment for everyone.

“Sheila was amazing! She bravely agreed to care for our 80lbs 7-month puppy for over two weeks. We were so hesitant to leave him for such a long period while he is so young but meeting Sheila put our concerns to rest. She is a very calm and confident animal person and provided a nice loving home to our Toby. She also went the extra mile and dropped him at ferry terminal to help us with our travel connections home after a long trip. I highly recommend Sheila.”
