About: I grew up with at minimum 4 dogs at all times, ranging from Border collies, to Shepard mixes, to Jack Russell and fox terriers. I learned from a young age the best way to train dogs specific to their breeds and personalities and I have lots of experience caring for pups from the day they were born into old age. I understand the importance of exercise, routine and play for our furry friends. I say I have 7 years of experience caring for pets, but really it is 30+ years at this point, the 7 years comes from a boom in friends getting dogs and the beginning of me taking care of their pets when they go on vacation, have family/medical emergencies etc. I live less than a block from a park that is off-leash-optional (the park has a cute communal dog toy box also) and I live in a quiet neighbourhood where I can stroll with your pup on-leash for exercise if that is preferred. I also carry my own pups to designated off leash areas where they can run forest trails with me, or just hike around. Depending on your pups needs and what you and I discuss, play/exercise time for your pup may involve all three. My home has a fenced in back yard which is great for toilet breaks and serves as a play area also, if your pup is so inclined :) I have two pups of my own, a Border Collie and a Wire Haired Griffon, both friendly gals, the Border Collie is becoming a senior gal and generally pays no attention to other dogs past an introductory sniff, the Griffon is 4 years old and loves to play if your pup is willing, if not, no issues, she is not forceful in anyway. I can say with confidence that your pups will be in safe hands, well taken care of and loved while I am looking after them. I work a flexible schedule from my home office. My doggy caring day typically starts with at least a 30 - 40 min neighbour hood walk before 8:00 am. Backyard toilet and exercise breaks around 10:00. 30 - 40 min neighbourhood/park lunch walk around noon. More toilet/stretch the legs breaks around 2:00. Off-leash Forest walk around 4:30/5:00 (Or on-leash depending on the pup, and if a forest walk doesn't suit, then more time in the beautiful neighbourhood often heading to a larger fenced in municipal park about 10 mins walk away) Obviously, meals are given as per your pups schedule and lots of treats throughout the day (unless you tell me not to) I have a fully fenced in back yard, with two friendly pups for company for your pup. The house itself is very dog friendly, pups are allowed onto the couch, but not the beds or other furniture. There are many dog beds in various rooms for pooches to sleep in as they wish. When walking/exercising your dog, I will only walk your dog on-leash in the neighborhood and in any area that is not well fenced in. If your dog is reactive, timid, has any health concerns we can discuss and I will be sure to adjust my routine around those needs. I will do exactly what you ask of me when it comes to feeding, play, keeping your pup on-leash, treats etc. Should the unlikely happen and I need to bring your dog to a vet unexpectedly, I will have your contact details, your vets contact details and I live within 5 mins drive of the emergency vet hospital. Your pup will be well looked after.
“Stephanie was amazing with my dog, Olive! Her two dogs were so well-behaved and got along great with Olive. She kept me updated throughout the stay, sent me adorable pictures, and made me feel completely at ease. I could tell Olive was happy and well cared for. We will definitely be using Stephanie again in the future. Thank you so much!”

“We were very happy to have been able to find Lisa during our trip to Vancouver Island. It is so great to have this service while visiting!! She took great care of our pups!”

“Allan takes great care of our dog, Tala. She seems to love her stays and is actually excited to get dropped off. Always feel confident leaving our girl with him; sooooo trustworthy”

“Rachel was amazing and so kind to take Milo on short notice but also soo patient with me as I scrambled to get him there and pick him up. I really appreciate her looking after him and he was so happy when I picked him up. He’s much more of a puppy than I realize but Rachel and her family were very kind and used to handling pups with the proper care. Thanks again !!”
About: I’ve grown up with just about every pet you can think of: dogs, cats, birds, hamsters, rabbits, frogs, fish, and even a little mouse. Being around animals has always been second nature to me, and I love giving them all the cuddles, playtime, and care they deserve. Since my apartment isn’t pet-friendly right now, I’d be thrilled to spend my time hanging out with some furry friends in the neighborhood—it’s the best of both worlds! I work for the school district from 8–3, and my office is pet-friendly—so if you have a social animal, they’re welcome to join me for an office day! Outside of those hours, my schedule is very flexible, which makes it easy for me to provide pet care when you need it. I love getting outdoors to explore new parts of the city, but I’m just as happy to spend time cuddled up with a furry friend and a good book. I offer pet visits, walks, and plenty of cuddles—all in the comfort of your pet’s own home. Being in their familiar space helps them feel safe and relaxed, which makes it easier for us to build trust and enjoy our time together.

About: What sets me apart is my hands-on experience with animals of all kinds. I worked with horses for five years and have spent the last three years working with and around dogs. I also raised and trained my own dog from puppyhood, who is now a government-certified service dog. That journey taught me patience, consistency, and how to understand each animal’s unique needs. I treat every pet as if they were my own, focusing on their safety, comfort, and happiness while you’re away. Pet care is part of my daily routine through walks, enrichment, training, and personalized care. I prioritize consistency, reliability, and giving every pet individual attention. I provide attentive, personalized care in every home. With parks, trails, and Beacon Hill nearby, pets enjoy safe walks, enrichment, playtime, and plenty of affection.
About: Hi! My name is Oobli! I am a 3 year old toy Australian Shepherd. My humans are Alex and Christina and they adore me! They tell me that they love all dogs, and grew up with pets but of course, they love me the most! We do everything together, they take me on car rides to some really cool places to run around and sniff (they call it hiking) We go to the beach and the park, they are excellent at throwing sticks and balls for me to chase! When we are home, I like to chase balls in our backyard, it’s a nice big backyard with a fence around it to keep me nice and safe! My favorite thing about our house, (besides the big comfy bed we sleep in and the comfy couches) is I have my very own door I can use! The only thing I don’t have are any brothers or sisters to play with! I love to play and get along with everyone! Well, not the cat across the street, I don’t really like cats. But I love other dogs! I am hoping to meet some friends and have some play dates and maybe even some sleepovers! We are business owners who have a flexible schedule allowing us the opportunity to work from home while caring for your fur babies. We can accommodate weekday daytime walks Our home is pet friendly with a large fenced backyard, a dog door for small dogs. Our furniture is pet friendly and we don’t mind extra cuddles at night in the bed.
“Bill and Gerrie are 2 lovely genuine people who in our absence have looked after our 2 furry family members in such a way that we are free to enjoy ourselves without worry or guilt. The personal and individual attention our dogs had during the home environment stay was great. Communication has been great throughout and we received regular updates and pictures of them both having a wonderful holiday of their own with Bill and Gerrie. We 100% recommend them both as wonderful sitters and have already booked another sitting with them going forward.”

About: I have been around and loving all animals for my whole life. I have had my cats and even over 40 chickens to care for. I have been working with dogs and training them for over a year. Caring for animals in general for 10 years. I give the animals in my care my full attention and love. Taking care of dogs is definitely a huge part of my love for life. I work from home so it fits perfectly. My 8 year old daughter loves all animals and helps out as well. When she is in school or when I take her to her fathers I will be out. Willing to have dogs in my car if they are okay in vehicles I live in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood. With this house we have a fenced in yard and no other pets in the home currently. My focus will be solely on the animals I care for.
“Alexa took super care of my cat Remi, she sent me pictures all the time and supplied a litter box as well as a bunch of other stuff. She made the process super easy and personable. I would highly recommend using her. Thanks again Alexa!”

“Our pup stayed with Chris and Amy for 5 days over Christmas while we were away visiting family and we couldn’t have imagined a more caring and sweet family for our dog to stay with. Thank you Chris and Amy from the bottom of ours hearts for having our pup and everything you did to make his stay so enjoyable and fun. We knew that he would be in the very best of hands with you and your loving family. Thank you for making his Christmas so special filled with love and care. ??❄️”

“Neil was absolutely amazing! Not only did our dog instantly fall in love with him (which is a HUGE deal if you know our dog) but throughout the sit, Neil was diligent, communicative, and kept our minds at ease with regular updates and pictures. We will definitely book with him again!”

“We left our little boy with them for a couple of days, and they did an excellent job. He made a new friend with their dog, looked really happy when we picked him up, and we had good communication throughout. Thank you so much”

“Stephanie was very kind in assisting us to sea plane while picking up our dog. She followed our wishes and was on time and dependable with our pet. Highly recommend!”

My Benny has a great time with Christy and her dog, Luna. Christy is amazing at communicating and has been super flexible with my drop off and pick up times. We have used her twice I’ll definitely reach out to her again next time we are in Victoria Thank you for making Benny feel at home with you 💙

I felt so comforted and safe leaving Tilly with Anqian, especially since Tilly had an unexpected surgery three weeks before Anqian took care of her. Anqian was very communicative, and sent pictures and updates. It was very evident from the pictures that Tilly was very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed her time.

Our beagle had a wonderful time with Ida! And with her beautiful dog. So grateful to find Ida last minute. She gave us regular updates, and photos. They went for lots of walks and Eli really had a good time. Ida was super attentive and easy to communicate with and is a lovely human! Would highly recommend her!

My wife and I recently left our Obi with Lucas for a long weekend. It was our first foray into the world of Rover and we were not disappointed. Lucas was extremely professional from start to finish. He clearly loves animals of all types and we wouldn't hesitate using his services again.

Stacey is our go-to sitter for our corgi Valkyrie. Val has been enough times that at the most recent drop-off, she didn't even look back at us when we left haha. She always has a really good time, and my spouse and I have peace of mind knowing our dog is getting great care from someone we trust.

Natalie was great! She took excellent care of our chocolate lab and kept our condo clean and plants alive. She communicated promptly and was easy to reach. You can see that Natalie has a great understanding of dog wellbeing and psychology. I would recommend Natalie without any hesitation!

Madison was an absolute pleasure to work with. She kept me updated throughout my trip with regular photos and messages, which gave me such peace of mind. Her comfort and awareness of my dog's needs and medication made me feel confident that my pet was in caring, capable hands. Thanks to her, I was able to enjoy my trip without worrying about my pet. I highly recommend Madison to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive pet sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
