“Ida took such great care of our girl - she went on so many fun adventures, even a trip out to a pet-friendly restaurant! Her time was full of play with her girl Nala, so she came home absolutely pooped. She sent many photo updates to keep us at ease at how our baby was doing. We’ll definitely book with her again!”

“We were very happy to have been able to find Lisa during our trip to Vancouver Island. It is so great to have this service while visiting!! She took great care of our pups!”

“We were so appreciative of the great care Rachel and her family gave our girl Holly while we were out of town. She sent us lots of photos while Holly was there and that really helped my kids see that Holly was safe and having fun. We would absolutely love to book with Rachel again!”

“Ada and Nick took such great care of George! It was apparent they both were very attentive to George’s needs and are very warm people, which made me feel at ease! We will definitely be booking with them again! Thanks for treating our pup like your own!”

“Neil is incredibly attentive to Tuna’s specific needs and a great dog sitter! He checked in with regular photos of different activities and I felt like she was safe and taken care of on my trip to Toronto. I didn’t worry about her once because I knew she was in very good hands! He has a very soft and caring demeanour about him that Tuna loves to be around. I’ll for sure be reaching out again for pet sitting services!”

“Amelia and Thomas were great guardians for my border collie Seeka! They watched him for a few nights and gave me regular updates and pictures, which I really appreciated. Seeka seemed to get along great with their pup Biscuit as well. Amelia and Thomas were easy to communicate with and they made the whole process seamless. I hope to have them sit Seeka again this summer while on the island”

“My first Rover experience and a very positive one! Anqian and Alexandre sent sweet updates of my cat Ham and really gave me peace of mind that he was in good hands! Thank you!”

“Our dogs love their holidays with Bill and Gerie. It is always such relief to spend time on holiday without worrying about your fur babies. We are repeat customers who thoroughly recommend Bill and Gerie.”

“Christy was wonderful with our dog. It was our first time leaving her with a dogsitter, and we were nervous because she has a lot of puppy energy still (she is one). But Christy was lovely, she sent regular updates and photos, and our dog came home so happy. I would absolutely recommend Christy! She is warm, quick to reply, and professional. Thank you so much!”

“We left our little boy with them for a couple of days, and they did an excellent job. He made a new friend with their dog, looked really happy when we picked him up, and we had good communication throughout. Thank you so much”

“Bryan is an expert and provided a high standard dog-home away from home! He sent us regular doggy updates and texted adorable pics (which we will be getting printed because they are adorable!) Our dog came home very happy and definitely was well looked after for our time away. Highly recommended for dogs!”

About: We have fostered close to 40 dogs mostly through the Victoria Humane Society. We also regularly dog sit for friends. Gemma, our 8 year old dog is used to having other dogs in the house as we have taken care of many dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and disabilities such as blind and deaf. We do two dog walks of about 30-45 minutes each day and longer ones on the weekends but this can be adjusted based on the needs of your dog. We also have a fully fenced yard. On most weekdays we leave the house around 8:30am and return around 4pm but we have some flexibility with our schedules and sometimes work from home. We have a fenced yard and our dog Gemma is very used to other dogs. She will engage if they want to play but keep her distance if they need space.
“Judging by the happy little girl we picked up Angela and Gabriel should be 6*! Actually our good feelings started when we 'interviewed' them a few months before our 5 day dogcation. I think they both have high EQ and high dog karma. Like others have said they communicate exceptionally well and put your mind at ease. Highly recommended. Ps was glad to hear Gabriel watched his team win his soccer division ❤️”

“Newton loved his stay with Rory and family. They took great care of him, and kept our minds at ease with frequent updates and photos. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave Newton with them again! Thanks for taking such great care of our boy.”

About: I have been working with dogs and training them for over a year. And animals in general for 10 years. My new love for life. I work from home so it fits perfectly. My 8 year old daughter loves all animals and helps out as well. When she is in school or when I take her to her fathers I will be out. Willing to have dogs in my car if they are okay in vehicles I have a fenced in yard and no other pets in the home currently. My focus will be solely on the animals I care for.
“Lauren’s extensive experience with pet care (including experience working in a vet hospital) set my mind at ease when I needed to find a somewhat last minute sitter for my dog Ollie, who’s in his senior years and has a sensitive little system. She was amazing with Ollie and sent lots of updates and adorable photos during their time together. I would absolutely book with Lauren again!”

“Amanda and her son were the best we could find for Simba when we want to vacation. My puppy had a blast and even missed them when he was back with us. Amanda kept in touch with us daily while we were away, giving us updates and sending us pictures. Amanda is highly recommended if you looking for a dog sitter.”

“This is our second time leaving our doodles with Dwight and again, are beyond happy with the care they received. Dwight sent us photos of the dogs on their walk and playing happily outside. Just like last time, both dogs were so tired when they got home and I am sure they were given great attention and fun and companionship by Dwight and his family. We are very happy to have found Dwight and will continue to leave our dogs with him for daycare every now and then when we are gone for a full day. Thank you again Dwight!! From Pondi and cherry”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Victoria
We had such a wonderful experience! Shravistha was incredibly flexible with scheduling and always so accommodating. Both she and her husband took amazing care of Alfie and treated her like she was part of their own family. Communication was excellent throughout the entire stay. She always replied to my messages promptly and kept me updated with photos and videos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was obvious that Alfie was happy, comfortable, and truly well cared for. Shravistha is warm, kind, and genuinely loves dogs. Knowing Alfie was with her allowed us to completely relax while we were away. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!

Could not recommend Alana enough! I have a hard time leaving my dog with people as she is high energy and can having a hard time settling in with sitters. All my concerns were eased after my dogs stay with Alana. Socks settled right in and had the best time! Alana was great at sending updates, she sent multiple pictures and videos throughout the stay. She also took my dog on lots of adventures- she came back home tired and happy. Socks will be coming back to her next time I need a sitter without a doubt!

Kathy was great with Moose! She clearly cares a lot about dogs and is very good with them. She introduced him to some new treats and took him on lots of outings with her other pooches. She sent lots of photos and it was clear Moose was having a great time. Highly recommended!

Lisa was fantastic with Artemis! She was on time, and clearly gave Artemis great care; regular walks kept her active and happy. What really stood out was Lisa noticing when we were running low on dog food and offering to pick up more in case we were running late. She also gave us multiple touchpoints throughout our trip, which we appreciated. We highly recommend Lisa to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog sitter!

Thanks Ida, for taking such great care of our dog Cedar! We received many lovely photos and updates, and Cedar came home happy and tired from all of her outdoor adventures with Ida and her pup Nala. We would highly recommend Ida to anyone looking for safe, dependable care.

Christy was wonderful with our dog. Thank you so much!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
