“Adria was absolutely hands down amazing with my boy Cedar! He loved the walk so much and was a very sleepy boy afterwards. She was quick and efficient and eager to help me out, as I’m currently out of commission with a terrible flu. Her prompt response and service makes her an excellent candidate to walk your furry companion. Thank you so much Adria!!”

“Kate is an amazing walker with perfect communication, takes lots of pictures and I have nothing but full confidence my pup is so happy and loved on his walks with her. Thanks Kate! Highly recommend this 10/10 dog walker 🥰”

“SHES ABSOLUTELY AWESOME Promoptly replied back to my dog walking cry for help. Was able to bust a wheel in her whip down to my crib. She kicked in my door stole my dog and she said to me " run run as fast as you can fat man, you won't catch me cuz I'm the ginger bread man. And then she grabbed my dog by the tail with her huge super hero hands jumped off my patio head first. Then in an hour after the door was repaired and back on the hinges she kicked my door back in. She threw my dog across my living room then jumped off the patio head first again. My dog is happier then two pigs in.........shut the front door.”

“Holly was great. Our dog suffered from some anxiety when Holly tried to take her for a walk. Holly sat with her a settled her down she was very kind and caring through the whole time.”

“Sumiah was a tremendous help to us by walking our headstrong dog for five days. She is a delightful young woman, very responsible, punctual, confident and friendly. We would love to use her again.”

“We can’t say enough good things about our experience. Our dog is a rescue and can be a bit cautious, but you took the time to build trust and made her feel so comfortable. She gets the perfect mix of exercise, attention, and care. Truly exceptional and highly recommended!”

About: New clients on Rover can use my coupon code “ ARISAF94292” for $20 discount. I’ve had quite a bit of experience dog sitting and cat sitting for friends and my boss, often caring for multiple pets at the same time. I genuinely love being around animals and enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality and routine. I also have a 7-year-old Toy Poodle of my own, so I’m very familiar with the day-to-day responsibility of caring for a pet. He has a very strict diet, and I always need to keep a close eye on him to make sure he doesn’t pick up or eat anything he shouldn’t. Because of this, I’m used to staying attentive and keeping an eye on pets throughout the day. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive to the little things, and I always want the pets in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and well loved. 🐾 I currently work part-time online from 4–7 p.m., so I have a very flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home. This gives me plenty of time to care for, play with, and keep an eye on your pups throughout the day. There’s also a dog park nearby, so I can take them out for a walk and some playtime during the day. I’m available for boarding most days of the week, and even while I’m working, I’m able to stay home with the pets. I love having animals around and will make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and company throughout the day. I’m happy to care for pets in their own home, and this is actually my preference as my apartment is fairly small. I find that staying in their familiar environment can also help pets feel more comfortable and relaxed while their owners are away. When staying at a client’s home, I’ll follow their usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime, bathroom breaks, and any special care or medication they need. I have a 7-year-old Toy Poodle named Mickey who is very friendly. For overnight house sitting, I’m available if Mickey is able to come with me, or if your home is close enough to mine that I can easily go back and forth to feed and care for him. I would always discuss this with you beforehand to make sure the arrangement works well for everyone.
“Joseph is a natural with dogs and my pup very quickly knew that when she saw him, it was time for fun! Great communication and flexibility when things came up. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats around me since I was a kid, and I’ve owned my own dogs since 2020. I’ve taken positive reinforcement puppy training courses as well as reactivity specific lessons, so I’m comfortable reading early warning signs in anxious or reactive dogs and know how to de-escalate rather than just react. I’m also experienced handling big, strong dogs confidently and safely on leash. Before having my own, I dog sat regularly for friends, so I’ve got a solid range of temperaments and routines under my belt. I work from home running my own business, which means I’m around during the day most weekdays and have flexible availability for drop-ins, walks, and house sitting. I can work around specific feeding or walk times rather than squeezing visits into a rigid window. While house sitting, I treat your home like a guest would; respecting your space, sticking to your pet’s normal routine, and keeping things exactly as I found them. For drop-ins and walks, I’m attentive to leash safety, comfortable handling multiple pets, and quick to notice if something seems off with appetite, energy, or behavior. I’m also comfortable with reptile care basics like enclosure checks and feeding schedules, if that’s ever relevant

“Kaori was lovely!! Very communicative and flexible. Izzy had the best time going for walks with her, and she always provided a detailed summary with lots of photos. Will definitely rebook!”

About: I am a caring and loving pet sitter that is more than happy to adjust to the needs of your pet! I am very comfortable with both large and small breeds. I have trained many of my own large-breed dogs, including rescue pit bulls, and therefore have a calm temperament that animals enjoy. I am comfortable administering medicine to special needs pets and going for long walks with higher-energy breeds as well. I have owned many dogs and cats in my lifetime, including certain special need breeds like French bulldogs and pugs. I am well-aware of the digestive issues that some designer breeds have and how to prevent issues. Anyone that knows me, knows I have a passion for all furry friends - big or small! I’m currently working part-time so I have plenty of time to play with your pups! I’m available Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends to care for your pet, but I am off from work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 4pm and am happy to make drop-in visits on those days as well. I live in beautiful Victoria, BC and enjoy taking your pup for seaside walks, socialization can be provided at dog parks and I genuinely enjoy your dogs company!

“Justin is extremely kind and caring, and shows a genuine love of dogs. He is patient, positive and encouraging. Justin takes Mabel on a variety of routes and she always seems content and tired by the time we arrive home. He is reliable and responsible. We highly recommend Justin as a dog walker!”

About: Hello! I absolutely love cats & dogs and have cared for animals since childhood, starting with my own family pets. Over the years, I’ve gained experience helping friends, neighbours, and clients with dog walking, pet sitting, and overnight care, including caring for a senior blind dog over the course of a summer. I understand that every pet has different needs, personalities, and energy levels. Some pets love long walks and playtime, while others simply want calm companionship and routine. I always try to make animals feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I currently have no pets in my home, so your pet would have a quiet environment and plenty of attention during overnight stays if needed. My schedule is flexible, and I’m typically home mornings and evenings and away for shorter periods during the afternoon. I also love keeping owners updated with photos and messages so you can feel relaxed knowing how your pet is doing throughout the day. I’m attentive, reliable, calm under pressure, and genuinely love building trust with both pets and their owners. My goal is always for your pet to feel happy, safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. If I am house sitting, you will return to a clean and happy home! I would love to build long-term relationships with regular clients in Victoria and the surrounding area. I am pretty flexible as my work schedule tends to vary. I live in the Oak Bay area but am happy to travel for your pet needs. I care for pets the same way their owners would with consistency, love, and attention to detail. For in home stays: pets receive affection, playtime, and comfort. Cats have daily litter cleaning and scheduled feedings at their usual times, while dogs get two walks per day, potty breaks, feeding, and plenty of pets and love. For dog walks: I make sure they’re happy and refreshed with potty breaks, light grooming if needed so they’re clean when they return, and treats or feedings as directed. My goal is always to keep pets comfortable, cared for, and loved just like they are with you.
“Kate was a dream dog walker with my dog Xena. I had adopted her <5 weeks before Kate's walks and she is working through separation anxiety, recovering from a dog attack and learning new routines for walking, bathroom breaks and feeling safe. Kate's communication and organization is more than what you expect. She asked smart questions about commands, changes in training needs and comfort levels (mine and Xena's), and was able to help create a space where Xena had noticeable progress in just 2 visits! Kate was great helping Xena play with other dogs at the park, dealing with stubborn boundary testing leash behavious, letting me know of new behaviours like stick chewing, flagging Xena was ready for new toys / stimulation and giving (and receiving) cuddles. Kate's love for animals, intuitive and caring nature and grounded energy makes her a treat for any dog lover to rely on.”

Charlotte is amazing! We have a sweet lab who can be nervous with new people however she connected with Charlotte immediately. Charlotte is always on time, answers any questions quickly and professionally. Anyone would be lucky to have her take care of your pets! Highly recommend:)

Cole was honestly great to work with. He was calm, gentle, and really respectful of my dog's boundaries, which was especially important since she can be reactive with new people. He followed instructions really well, communicated consistently, and never seemed fazed by her behaviour. My dog warmed up to him really quickly, and I felt confident with the way he handled her on walks. I'd definitely recommend him, especially for anyone with a dog who needs a patient and understanding handler.

It is clear to see Karin has a genuine love for being with dogs. From the meet and greet, she made sure to make our puppy feel comfortable and take extra time to find out everything she needed to know. We have peace of mind knowing our puppy is happy and in great care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Victoria choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
