“Holly was great. Our dog suffered from some anxiety when Holly tried to take her for a walk. Holly sat with her a settled her down she was very kind and caring through the whole time.”

“Aisling provided walks and care for Mackie while we were away. Aisling was super dependable, knowledgeable and very caring, even providing updates and pic's of their daily walks. We would highly recommend Aisling.”

About: Growing up, we’ve always had dogs. I’ve always gotten to walk them (2 at a time), and now, I also love walking friends’ dogs with them! I always work from home, part time, with a flexible schedule, so apart from the occasional meeting here in or there, I’m almost always available. Every pet is unique, so I coordinate with the owner to see what the pet needs. When I meet a pet for the first time, I give them the space necessary for them to feel comfortable, and wait for them to reach out.
“Kaori was lovely!! Very communicative and flexible. Izzy had the best time going for walks with her, and she always provided a detailed summary with lots of photos. Will definitely rebook!”

“Kirk was absolutely wonderful with our dog Henri. This was our first time booking with him and we honestly couldn’t have felt better about it. He took such great care of Henri, kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was clear from the start that Henri bonded right away with him. What really stood out was how attentive he was - when Henri seemed a little off one day, Kirk checked in right away, adjusted the walk, and even offered to come back later just to make sure he was okay. That kind of care gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear that Kirk truly cares about the fur babies he works with. We came home to a happy pup, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book him again. Highly recommend!”

“Madelaine was so great with my dog! I’ll definitely be booking with her again. My dog Bridget is very anxious and timid to new people but I trusted her in Madelaine’s care and knew Bridget was in good hands. She was very patient with her and Madelaine is a very warm, kind person in general. :)”

About: Hello! My name is Isabella and I’m originally from Mexico. I’ve grown up in a home surrounded by dogs, which sparked my lifelong passion for caring for animals. I just graduated from Ecology at Thompson Rivers University and I’m also an active volunteer at local animal shelters. These experiences have deepened my understanding of animal behaviour and well being. I have over 7 years of experience as a dog walker and pet sitter, working with a wide range of breeds—from small, energetic pups to larger, strong dogs like Labradors. My top priority is always the well-being, safety, and happiness of your pet. I love going for long walks, playing, and making sure each pet feels loved and secure in my care. I am happy to look after your dog in your home to ensure the health and safety of all animals I look after. I’m excited to meet your furry friend and promise to keep you updated with photos and videos while you're away! Pet care fits perfectly into my routine as I have all weekdays and weekend free. As a recent graduate, I am currently looking for a job so I will be home all day taking care of your furry ones. My previous experience in my Mom's dog sitting company has given me the tools to provide the best possible care of the furry pets. I provide food, fresh water, and any medications needed at appropriate times, following the given schedule to optimise the pet’s wellbeing. I also personalise the care for each pet, taking into consideration their age, health conditions, energy levels, etc. I like to keep them entertained by playing with them and taking them on walks if agreed with you first. My walks always prioritise safety, providing the best experience possible for you and your pets. Letting them take their time while smelling plants and nature is crucial to ensure they enjoy the most. I offer on leash and off leash walks depending on your personal preference.
“Silvia and Andrea are angels. They walk our (very energetic and large) dog, Lamma, and take such amazing care of him. We are so much more comfortable being at work during the day. They consistently provide information, answer messages quickly, and are clearly kind hearted. We would confidently recommend Silvia and Andrea for anyone needing care for their animal!”

About: I have over 10 years of hands-on animal care experience across Japan and Canada. I’ve worked as a dog bather, a veterinary nurse, a zookeeper, and even led sled dog expeditions with 300+ dogs in the Arctic. I’m comfortable with all sizes and breeds, and I genuinely love dogs walking them is one of my favorite things to do. I attend a professional dog grooming program five days a week on weekday mornings, so I’m available for pet care in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. I’m flexible within those hours and happy to work out a schedule that fits your routine. I treat every pet as an individual and always prioritize their comfort and stress levels. I’m also a cat owner myself, so I understand how important it is to keep a calm, safe environment. My veterinary nursing background means I can recognize signs of illness or anxiety early and respond appropriately.
“Kate was a dream dog walker with my dog Xena. I had adopted her <5 weeks before Kate's walks and she is working through separation anxiety, recovering from a dog attack and learning new routines for walking, bathroom breaks and feeling safe. Kate's communication and organization is more than what you expect. She asked smart questions about commands, changes in training needs and comfort levels (mine and Xena's), and was able to help create a space where Xena had noticeable progress in just 2 visits! Kate was great helping Xena play with other dogs at the park, dealing with stubborn boundary testing leash behavious, letting me know of new behaviours like stick chewing, flagging Xena was ready for new toys / stimulation and giving (and receiving) cuddles. Kate's love for animals, intuitive and caring nature and grounded energy makes her a treat for any dog lover to rely on.”

“We can’t say enough good things about our experience. Our dog is a rescue and can be a bit cautious, but you took the time to build trust and made her feel so comfortable. She gets the perfect mix of exercise, attention, and care. Truly exceptional and highly recommended!”

About: I have had a dog my entire life and am familiar with training, walking, and safety. I have walked dogs via volunteering and am looking to make a little extra money on the side. I will happily talk about and share pictures of dogs for hours. I am a music teacher in SD61 so I am free on weekends and evenings! It’s important to make room in your schedule for things you love. I am very careful and aware in other people’s homes and especially with their beloved furry friends. I never take dogs off leash or let them in an unfenced area.
About: Hi! I’m Alma, and I feel really lucky to have grown up around dogs - from tiny Chihuahuas to Poodles and mixed breeds. I really enjoy spending time with dogs and getting to know their personalities. I’ve cared for different types of dogs, including high-energy and intelligent breeds like Border Collies, as well as smaller dogs and poodle mixes. One thing I've noticed is that energetic dogs tend to respond really well to me, and I find it interesting to learn what they enjoy the most. As a pet owner, I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone. That’s why I pay close attention to how they’re feeling and what they need - whether that’s a long, active walk or a calm, relaxed one, always respecting their pace and routine. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you know how they're doing. I treat every dog like they’re my own, and my goal is to make sure they feel relaxed, understood, and genuinely at ease in my care. Feel free to reach out if you think we’d be a paw-fect match. I’d love to meet your pup! I’m primarily available for morning walks during the week, and I try to keep a consistent schedule. I also have some flexibility, so feel free to reach out! I’m happy to accommodate when possible :) Your dog’s safety and well-being are always my top priorities. I carefully follow routines and instructions, and I stay fully attentive throughout every walk. I choose safe, dog-friendly routes, keep dogs securely leashed when needed, and remain aware of my surroundings at all times. I provide regular updates and photos so you always know how your dog is doing - giving you peace of mind while they’re in my care.
“Adria was absolutely hands down amazing with my boy Cedar! He loved the walk so much and was a very sleepy boy afterwards. She was quick and efficient and eager to help me out, as I’m currently out of commission with a terrible flu. Her prompt response and service makes her an excellent candidate to walk your furry companion. Thank you so much Adria!!”

Andie is such a great dog walker! She walked Mika for several months and was always on time and reliable. Mika always looked forward to her walks with Andie. She would cater to Mika’s princess whims of not wanting to walk around the neighbourhood and take her on adventure walks around Beaver Lake. Anyone would be lucky to have Andie take care of their animals. Mika will miss her walks with Andie very much!

SHES ABSOLUTELY AWESOME Promoptly replied back to my dog walking cry for help. Was able to bust a wheel in her whip down to my crib. She kicked in my door stole my dog and she said to me " run run as fast as you can fat man, you won't catch me cuz I'm the ginger bread man. And then she grabbed my dog by the tail with her huge super hero hands jumped off my patio head first. Then in an hour after the door was repaired and back on the hinges she kicked my door back in. She threw my dog across my living room then jumped off the patio head first again. My dog is happier then two pigs in.........shut the front door.

Gabriela is amazing, I am so happy that I found a dog walker who is very knowledgeable, reliable, and just an amazing human being! She works for a wonderful doggy daycare/training company, so I had a lot of confidence from the start, and she is truly great. My dog was struggling with certain things when Gabriela when on a first walk with her, but she didn’t refuse to come back again, found the best approach, and my girl is thriving! I want everyone in Victoria to know about her, but I also love how amazing her availability is haha, thank you!!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Victoria choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
