“Maia was great checking in on my cat and alleviated a lot of stress for him when I was out of town. Maia is a true animal lover and my cat was comfortable with her right away. She is reliable, communicates well, and follows all the instructions for your pet. I am looking forward to her caring for my cat again.”

“Kate did an amazing job taking care of our cat Sid while we were on vacation. She was very responsive and detailed every visit. He was fortunate to have Kate checking in on him. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again.”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats around me since I was a kid, and I’ve owned my own dogs since 2020. I’ve taken positive reinforcement puppy training courses as well as reactivity specific lessons, so I’m comfortable reading early warning signs in anxious or reactive dogs and know how to de-escalate rather than just react. I’m also experienced handling big, strong dogs confidently and safely on leash. Before having my own, I dog sat regularly for friends, so I’ve got a solid range of temperaments and routines under my belt. I work from home running my own business, which means I’m around during the day most weekdays and have flexible availability for drop-ins, walks, and house sitting. I can work around specific feeding or walk times rather than squeezing visits into a rigid window. While house sitting, I treat your home like a guest would; respecting your space, sticking to your pet’s normal routine, and keeping things exactly as I found them. For drop-ins and walks, I’m attentive to leash safety, comfortable handling multiple pets, and quick to notice if something seems off with appetite, energy, or behavior. I’m also comfortable with reptile care basics like enclosure checks and feeding schedules, if that’s ever relevant
About: I grew up with dogs in my family which has formed my love of pets. For the past several years, my family, friends and neighbors have trusted me to look after their dogs and cats while they are away. This ranges from a small pug, to a medium sized mixed breed dog. I have also looked after cats from kittens to older cats. I live in the Fairfield area and I have a 4 year old sweetheart golden retriever myself. My golden keeps me active going to parks and beaches in the Fairfield area so my preference is for pet sitting in this area as I am very familiar with good walking routes. I would be open to a meet and greet to see if I am a good fit for your furry family member! I'm currently going to school part time so my schedule is pretty flexible to care for your furry family member! I am available most mornings and anytime after 4pm. I am available for pet sitting Friday afternoon through to the weekend. I know its hard to leave your furry family member at home so I make it a priority to send plenty of photo and daily updates. Let's schedule a meet-and-greet to chat about your pet's perfect routine! I want to have fun with your pet so we can play games inside the house with treats (if allowed) and go for walking adventures around your neighborhood or local parks near by.
“We had a wonderful experience with Jasper! He looked after our three Ragdolls for a week, making sure they were well fed and spending time visiting and keeping them company each day. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our cats were being cared for so well while we were away. Jasper was reliable, attentive, and clearly loves animals. Our cats were happy and relaxed when we came home, which says everything. We’re very, very happy with the care they received and would absolutely recommend Jasper to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring cat sitter. We would happily book him again”

About: Lifelong Dog Experience: Raised around dogs for years, bringing deep familiarity with different breeds, temperaments, and routines. Cat & Dog Friendly Home: My two cat-friendly felines are well-adjusted to welcoming visiting pups into our space. Many close friends in the Dog walking/pet sitting/boarding world. I'm available 24/7, all day every day to give your fur baby all the attention, love and exercise they need. If its a walk, they will come home nice and tired, if its sitting - they will get all the love and attention while you are away to take away any of their anxiety. I treat every pet like family, prioritizing their established routine for meals and potty breaks, and giving them all the attention and love that every pet deserves
About: I’ve been looking after and interacting with animals of all types, furred & otherwise, since I was able to stand up say hi! Well versed in sitting, walking (or jogging), playing, and providing care in general for dogs, cats & rabbits (well maybe not walking the latter two as much) for both friends and family, I'm sure I can provide the care and attention you desire for your animals as well. My most current long-term care experience is with a rescue rabbit I share a home with. I've learned a lot about animal care, respect, and boundaries by carefully observing body language and learning his needs. I enjoy learning more about his quirks and teaching him new tricks. In addition to the bunny, I currently reside with a few creepy-crawlies! Part-time hours during my weekdays currently often leaves me quite flexible, especially afternoons, for walks, check-ins or play-time! I am mainly involved in contract gig-work, which does fill some of my weekends, so I’m not always available Mon, or Th-Su, but happy to fit it in when available! Please check my calendar or ask about availability! I regularly enjoy going for walks (long, or short) around Victoria, so I'm regularly available for, and interested in, bringing a four-legged friend along for the adventure! I’m a firm believer in getting down to an animal’s level when interacting with them, especially with new introductions and being in an animal's home space, and would do everything possible to make an animal feel comfortable with new human interactions. I take animals' trust seriously and do my utmost to keep eyes open and respond to their needs to maintain those relationships. Making animals as comfortable as possible is my goal, and I'll do my best to keep you up-to-date on your furred friend's experiences while I'm looking after them on your behalf. I'm also happy to maintain, to the best of my ability, your pet's routines and expectations, and will touch base with you to learn as much as I can about your pet to set myself up for success! Let's chat and work together to meet you and your pet's needs!
“Lauren did a great job walking our energetic & ball-loving 3 year old chocolate Lab over the Christmas holidays. She was very flexible with her schedule, which helped a lot on our end and did a great job communicating with us. I would recommend Lauren in a heartbeat!”

“Richelle is so patient with our shy chihuahua. She's done several drop-in visits for us and has been gaining his trust. She leaves very thorough visit notes and lots of pictures. :-)”

“Kaori was incredibly gentle and kind with my two nervous but sweet dogs! We booked her to watch them two nights in a row and the first night, they were their typical shy selves, but by the second night, they were truly excited to see her when she came in and barely noticed when we left! I would highly recommend anyone to trust Kaori with their beloved pets and will absolutely rebook with her in future when we visit Victoria!”
About: I currently have a Sphynx (high maintenance cat breed with very specific needs) so I’m comfortable with tailored routines, diet restrictions, and reading an animal’s particular quirks.. I also grew up with dogs (multiple Border Collies) so I know the energy and exercise they need too. Whether your pet wants constant attention, space, or a specific routine, I adjust to what actually works for them :) I am currently working part time, so I have free time in my week and would love to drop in and take care of your animal(s). Typically I work Thursday-Saturday, but am happy to accommodate as best I can if you need support during those days. In your home, I stick closely to their feeding schedule, walks, and any specific instructions, staying attentive to their comfort in their own environment throughout each visit. *I have a cat in my home, (2 bd duplex house). I am happy to have your pet stay in my home if they’re patient/friendly towards cats and my cat gets along with them -would need to discuss/meet & greet prior to me hosting*
About: I'm cat/dog sitting/walking for my friends a lot. Haven't had any issues with anyone so far. I used to have a cat of my own, too. 😸 Will be taking care of your pet just as good as you do! I work full-time 8:30 - 4:30. I have plenty of time after work, except Wednesdays, but I could shuffle around my schedule if needed 🤗 I can stay at your place and take care of the pet following your instructions. Once I had to look after a sick cat and give him meds under a set time schedule.
About: Hello there, my name is Cass! I am a huge animal lover looking to help you take care of your animals! I currently separated from my kitty due to not having a pet friendly home so I would love to spend some time with your pets in your home! I can provide evening dog walking, and stay overnights. I have an early morning job but am usually available after 3pm and also available on my off days all day long! I have been caring for different animals for over 15 years including cats, dogs, hedgehogs, hamsters, and lizards. I am extremely reliable and easy going, with tons of references on my abilities on house and pet care. I can't wait to meet your furry family members! I currently work full time, but I have tons of time in the morning and evenings for dog-walking. I am also open to living in your home while you are away to take care of your pets. Or even drop in check-ins to ease your mind while you are away I am a very trustworthy, attentive care-giver. You will have nothing to worry about if I am taking care of your pets in your home. I have strong attention to detail and will always make sure everything is safe and protected while in my hands
About: Use code JOET22865 if new to Rover! I’m an experienced and reliable pet caregiver who loves spending time with animals. I’m comfortable with walks, feeding, playtime, and sticking to your pet’s routine. My goal is always to make sure your pet feels happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. I am a soccer coach, who has lots of free time during the day. I genuinely love dogs and really enjoy walking so would be available to walk your dogs for as long as they need. I live near the beach so can take dogs down to the water if they enjoy swimming. I have my own vehicle so am able to travel also. There is a large dog wash facility in the building complex that I live in, as well as an outside area. The building is very dog friendly and many tenants own dogs in the complex.

“Agnes did an amazing job checking in on my 3 cats while we were away on holidays. Reliable, responsible and caring. Provided daily updates so I would know all was well. Would definitely have Agnes care for my cats again. Thanks Agnes!”

About: I've always loved dogs. I grew up with a small dog. I have over a decade of experience taking care of dogs. The dogs I know are always so happy to see me and I'm even happier to see them. I work remotely part time and I get to set my own schedule for the most part so I'm very flexible and able to fit your dog's needs. I am very attentive and empathetic with dogs, I pay close attention to their behaviour and body language. I love giving them attention, playing with them, and massaging them. Dogs are usually very comfortable around me. My home is on the ground floor, there is one step up to enter, and no stairs inside. There is a small fenced side yard (about 115 feet squared) and a large front yard (unfenced). My street is quiet with very little car traffic.
“Within 1 minute of meeting Cassidy I knew I had met the perfect person to care for my cat. Cassidy asked detailed questioned on what my cat prefers, what I recommend and showed immediate comfort and care for Tiger. She was prepared, comfortable and knowledgeable about the needs of a cat. During my time away she connected with me, updated me on my cats well being and shared stories, multi media and showed great judgement for how to care for someone’s pet. She mentioned how it’s like being trusted with someone’s family member and she showed my cat and home incredible respect. Thank you Cassidy. I recommend Cassidy to anyone looking to have their pet cared for and I will definitely request her help every time I am away.”

About: Flexible work schedule (I write my own), so plenty of time to walk and play with your pooch. I live in Vic West steps from the Galloping Goose and Banfield Park, a favourite spot of to walk along year-round. I also have a vehicle, which is great for trips to hiking trails or dog parks as well! I love dogs of all sizes, ages and energy levels. I've had beagles, Sheppard mixes, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, and just recently lost the love of my life a (relatively) small, 125lb Great Dane, who was extremely well travelled and very used to meeting new dogs. I would love to give your dog some of the love and care that I had for mine! I have a flexible work schedule and am able to do morning walks, mid-day potty breaks, and do evening walks or hikes along the Galloping Goose, Dallas Road, Thetis Lake, or any of the other local favourites. I own a unit in a pet-friendly condo, right in the Railyards neighbourhood. It's been an ideal area for my own dog, and a great daily walking route right by the water

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Victoria
We recently moved to the area and needed a new pet sitter for occasional travel. Danielle took care of our 2 cats and 2 dogs while we were out of town for the weekend. She is friendly, prompt, communicative, and sent nice photos during each drop-in visit. Thanks, Danielle!

Sarah is so good with my large dog Walter. He can be reactive. Sarah handles his anxieties so well with ease. I am always confident that Walter will have a great time and be able to remain calm with positive redirection from Sarah! She’s my go to sitter/walker! I can’t say enough positive things.

Really great experience. Angela and Gabriel were wonderful with our 1.5-year-old dog, Jarvis! He is incredibly affectionate and full of energy, and they did an amazing job handling his excitement while making him feel comfortable and cared for. They were patient, attentive, and clearly experienced with energetic dogs. We felt confident leaving Jarvis with them and would absolutely trust them to watch him again. We highly recommend Angela and Gabriel to anyone looking for kind, reliable dog sitters!

This review is for the series of 'get-to-know-you' drop-ins Gwynn and I scheduled before I was away for a week that they helped with. My pup is very barky right now and it can be intimidating for some people, but Gwynn and I managed to move through this phase with intention and ease. My little Luga quickly warmed to Gwynn, and after only a couple of brief visits together Luga quickly learned that it is in fact a very HAPPY occasion to see Gwynn ;) This phase of the relationship-building between Gwynn and Luga was a bit anxiety-inducing for me, but Gwynn is so professional and experienced and compassionate and in command of energies that everything went according to plan, and I could not be more grateful for it. Thank you, Gwynn!!!!! <3

Thomas was great with Vesper! He was very timely with his visits and I appreciated that he sent some pictures and kept me up to date on what our pup was up to! He even came over to meet her and get a feel for the routine the day before! Will definitely be booking again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
