About: I adore all animals and bring a sense of care and energy to every animal I look after. I love walking and love to check out all the local trails with your pup! I look forward to meeting your four legged friend :) I am a recent graduate looking for employment. I have a very flexible schedule and would be available for any pet care needs! From walking to house sitting, I will be there. I have house sat for past clients and maintained a tidy environment. I leave everything the way I found it and if anything is off limits, I simply do not touch. I do not have the means to care for an animal at my own home but am very able to come to a clients home.
About: Hi there! I am a lover of all dogs and enjoy getting to play Auntie to your best friend so you can travel worry-free. Growing up, we had dogs, cats, hamsters, and fish. I've looked after horses, sheep and dogs, including red heelers, labs, chihuahuas, Manchester terriers, Rottweilers, dachshunds, huskies, doodles and mixed breeds of all ages and sizes. I've provided specialized care to dogs with epilepsy, anxiety, and aging dogs requiring medication. I understand the trust involved in caring for a loved one and hope to meet you soon! I am currently working flexible hours so I have plenty of time to walk your dogs and care for them. I am available during the day or evenings. Call or message me with any questions! I’m here to help set your mind at ease and know your dog is well cared for while you’re away. Reach out with any questions.
“Miriam was amazing with our fur-baby cat! I immediately felt comfortable and confident in having her check-in on Nala while we were away. I received lots of updates and pictures and Nala got lots of love! I will definitely be contacting Miriam for any future care :)”
About: Hey folks, I'm Dani and being around animals brings me the greatest joy! Growing I was always surrounded by a diverse array of pets, from rescues pets, dogs, rabbits, cats, and birds- I've developed a deep understanding and love for all creatures. With over three years of dedicated pet sitting for friends, family, and local clients, I offer the kind of reliable, compassionate care that gives you peace of mind. My goal is to treat your pets like family while in my care. My availability is fairly open during the week and during weekends besides Saturday during the day as I often have school for a few hours. Don't hesitate to reach out to see if we can make things work! I provide personalized care for each pet by discussing their specific needs with every client to the best of my abilities. I have experience in caring for senior dogs and cats and will look to feed and administering medication at the times you've specified. You can trust me to offer attentive and reliable care for your beloved pets. I can't wait to meet your pet(s)!
About: My partner Alex and I have taken care of fluffy friends for over 2 years now. Without advertising ourselves, people genuinely go around and tell others how good their experiences were with us. As a young couple, we have always known that our travelling plans doesn’t allow us to have our own pets, but our experiences with friends’ pets gave us confidence to try taking care of others’ pets. We are more than ready to learn more about this journey too! Here is a bonus ($20 off) for our first time customer: code ANQIAW39001, on https://www.rover.com/sit/anqiaw39001. I work as an educational assistant in a secondary school and my partner is a physics PhD student at UVic. My work is 9-3 everyday and his schedule is flexible. For dogs we used to split the walks into morning walk (him) and evening walk (myself or us both). For cats it will be flexible because our schedules make it at least one of us will be at home for most of the time of the day (18-24 hours) Our apartment building is located next to several parks and a quiet residential neighbourhood where we like to walk with pets. Our apartment courtyard also has a private and secure dog run where pets can play off leash. Our apartment has multiple windows so it provides amazing view for your pets to look out and say hi to any animals passing by.
About: I have raised 2 dogs of my own, ranging from puppy to senior, both of whom fell on the high-maintenance side of the spectrum whether that be health issues, separation anxiety, or behaviour issues. I have honed my dog-mom skills over the years to a point where I feel confident I could look after just about any four legged friend with care and attentiveness. I work from home most days and walking is one of my all time favourite pass-times, so a dog fits into my lifestyle seamlessly. I can provide any level of communication during my rover window -- whether that be frequent photos and check-ins or a more hands-off approach. I'm flexible around logistics and specific needs so let's chat :) I'm available for boarding any time (aside from 8am to 5pm on Tuesdays). I just need an internet connection. I will make sure to abide by perimeters around maximum time left alone on weekends. I take safety extremely seriously. I'll make sure to match whatever the safety climate your pet is accustomed to (e.g. not leave any food out that could be ninja-ed off the counters etc)
About: I’ve been looking after and interacting with animals of all types, furred & otherwise, since I was able to stand up say hi! Well versed in sitting, walking (or jogging), playing, and providing care in general for dogs, cats & rabbits (well maybe not walking the latter two as much) for both friends and family, I'm sure I can provide the care and attention you desire for your animals as well. My most current long-term care experience is with a rescue rabbit I share a home with. I've learned a lot about animal care, respect, and boundaries by carefully observing body language and learning his needs. I enjoy learning more about his quirks and teaching him new tricks. In addition to the bunny, I currently reside with a few creepy-crawlies! Part-time hours during my weekdays currently often leaves me quite flexible, especially afternoons, for walks, check-ins or play-time! I am mainly involved in contract gig-work, which does fill some of my weekends, so I’m not always available Mon, or Th-Su, but happy to fit it in when available! Please check my calendar or ask about availability! I regularly enjoy going for walks (long, or short) around Victoria, so I'm regularly available for, and interested in, bringing a four-legged friend along for the adventure! I’m a firm believer in getting down to an animal’s level when interacting with them, especially with new introductions and being in an animal's home space, and would do everything possible to make an animal feel comfortable with new human interactions. I take animals' trust seriously and do my utmost to keep eyes open and respond to their needs to maintain those relationships. Making animals as comfortable as possible is my goal, and I'll do my best to keep you up-to-date on your furred friend's experiences while I'm looking after them on your behalf. I'm also happy to maintain, to the best of my ability, your pet's routines and expectations, and will touch base with you to learn as much as I can about your pet to set myself up for success! Let's chat and work together to meet you and your pet's needs!
About: I grew up with dogs (golden retrievers and a papillon) for 23 years, I love every dog I see, so dog care is definitely my thing. I am very accustomed to all types of dog behaviour, walking, feeding, giving medication, itchy paw care, and all other pet care associated with dogs. I'm a well seasoned dog caretaker and am very familiar with many types of challenges and hyper puppies. I currently do not have a day job, so I am very able to be a hands-on caretaker to your pet. Walking, feeding, and attentiveness are my main priority. The best way to make sure your pets feel safe, trusting, and comfortable is for me to continue on the daily routine they tend to follow. I'm very familiar with having to separate animals in different rooms, gates, stairs, feeding schedules and walking times. The best way I can give the utmost care for your companion is if you tell me exactly what you'd appreciate in terms of caretaking from me and I will make sure I do it exactly how you'd like in a way that is comfortable for you and you pet!
About: I take pride in being a very compassionate care giver. I am an educator and animal lover by day and night. My bunny Luna and I travelled from Winnipeg to Victoria to explore the outdoors, so would love to take your dog out for adventures! Over the years I have loved taking care of animals including chickens, cats, budgies, hamsters, gerbils, rats, lizards and dogs. I have taken care of multiple puppies, and bunnies through behavioural and bathroom training as well as many rounds of tug a war. It would be wonderful to meet you and your furry (or not so furry) friends. I will supply high quality care, love, snuggles and plenty of photos of our day to share. I am currently working part time while working on my Master's in counselling. Most of my days are quite flexible so am happy to work the hours that work well for you and your pets! If I am welcomed into your home, I will always ensure your pets needs are my top priority. Whether that be setting up snuffle mats, being ready to cuddle, or even give a brush I'm just happy to spend time with your pet.
“Michele did a great job looking after my kitty! When Michele came over to meet her before my trip, I could tell my cat would be comfortable with her. I felt so at ease knowing she was there to look after her, and it was wonderful to get updates throughout her visits. Michele did everything I needed her to do, and will definitely use her again! Thanks Michele !”

“Ava was fantastic! She was so easy to book with and accommodating. Nala loved her, and it was clear Ava spent quality time with her. She kept us updated on how Nala was doing and sent some great pictures. Anyone would be lucky to hire Ava to take care of their pets; she deeply cares about animals, and our (grumpy senior cat) Nala can't wait to have her back. Thank you Ava!”

Really great experience. Angela and Gabriel were wonderful with our 1.5-year-old dog, Jarvis! He is incredibly affectionate and full of energy, and they did an amazing job handling his excitement while making him feel comfortable and cared for. They were patient, attentive, and clearly experienced with energetic dogs. We felt confident leaving Jarvis with them and would absolutely trust them to watch him again. We highly recommend Angela and Gabriel to anyone looking for kind, reliable dog sitters!

This review is for the series of 'get-to-know-you' drop-ins Gwynn and I scheduled before I was away for a week that they helped with. My pup is very barky right now and it can be intimidating for some people, but Gwynn and I managed to move through this phase with intention and ease. My little Luga quickly warmed to Gwynn, and after only a couple of brief visits together Luga quickly learned that it is in fact a very HAPPY occasion to see Gwynn ;) This phase of the relationship-building between Gwynn and Luga was a bit anxiety-inducing for me, but Gwynn is so professional and experienced and compassionate and in command of energies that everything went according to plan, and I could not be more grateful for it. Thank you, Gwynn!!!!! <3

Thomas was great with Vesper! He was very timely with his visits and I appreciated that he sent some pictures and kept me up to date on what our pup was up to! He even came over to meet her and get a feel for the routine the day before! Will definitely be booking again.

We had a last minute request for drop-in sessions for my brother’s Big Bully Baby, Benny. My brother was away snowboarding and Benny was staying with my father, but was just too much dog for my father to exercise as he is having health problems. I’m on the mainland and couldn’t help out but luckily found Emma here, and she was able to go out and walk Benny and play with him two days in a row to get Benny out in the fresh air and get some energy out of him. She really saved the day and Benny loved his time with her. I wasn’t sure if I would find someone comfortable with Benny’s size and breed (even though he’s a big softie) so to have her come play and be comfortable with him was an extra blessing. Thank you so much!!

Not only was Allan GREAT with my dogs, he was flexible on Christmas Day! Today was our second walk and I loved seeing the dogs get excited to see him. I came back to find them loving all over him. Highly recommend. Would certainly go to Allan first if I was back here and needing a walker again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
