With a strong background in dog training, agility, and volunteer work at a farm animal sanctuary, I offer a comprehensive set of skills and experiences to ensure the safety and well-being of your furry friends. Currently, I reside with my family and share my home with one large breed dog and four cats, all of whom are rescues. Having been surrounded by animals throughout my life, I am well-acquainted with their needs and behaviors. Additionally, I have extensive experience in the pet food industry, having worked part-time at a couple Bosley's By Pet Valu stores, once owned by my family before their recent retirement. Throughout my pet sitting journey, I have cared for a wide variety of animals, ranging from dogs and cats to birds, rats, rabbits, goats, sheep, cows, donkeys, pigs, chickens, roosters, ducks, turkeys, and fish. I am comfortable handling any mess or challenge that may arise, and I am equipped with the skills to administer medications when necessary. Rest assured, I am well-prepared to handle any situation that comes my way. In terms of dog training, I have around four years of non-competitive Dog Agility Training experience. If your dog has specific training in place, I will diligently uphold those habits, ensuring consistency and avoiding any disruption to their routine. I firmly believe in positive reinforcement and will always treat your dog with gentleness and kindness. Unwanted behaviors will be redirected to more desirable ones, often accompanied by treats or play. I prioritize building a relationship of trust and understanding with each animal I care for. To provide peace of mind, I am available for a complimentary meet and greet prior to the pet-sit. This allows us to discuss your specific requirements and ensure a seamless transition for your pets. While I am based in the Fraser Valley, I am willing to travel to the island as well, provided transportation arrangements are made and ferry fees are covered. Pet sitting is not just a job for me; it involves my true passion. As an introverted individual, I dedicate my time to staying home and engaging in activities such as reading, embroidering, and editing photos on my computer. This means I can be fully present for your pets and accommodate their needs. I understand the importance of adhering to established routines to make your pets feel comfortable and secure in their environment. As a quiet and non-intrusive individual, I am respectful of your space and privacy. I do not smoke, drink, or engage in partying. If you prefer a serene and tranquil environment for your pets, rest assured that I will provide just that. For those that it is relevant to, I am Vegan and will not be eating meat/dairy/eggs in your home. Outside of pet sitting, I enjoy long walks or hikes and picnics in the park.
