“We had such a wonderful experience! Shravistha was incredibly flexible with scheduling and always so accommodating. Both she and her husband took amazing care of Alfie and treated her like she was part of their own family. Communication was excellent throughout the entire stay. She always replied to my messages promptly and kept me updated with photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was obvious that Alfie was happy, comfortable, and truly well cared for. She is warm, kind, and genuinely loves dogs. Knowing Alfie was with her allowed us to completely relax while we were away. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”

“Christy was great with Steiner, our one year-old puppy, who is still learning how to behave. Christy lives very close to all the activities in Victoria, B. C., so dropping Steiner off was so easy. Thank you for taking care of our puppy, Christy.”
“Cassidy is an absolute gem. Booking with her was easy, she was responsive and kind. When we had our meet and greet we immediately felt comfortable and Leo also took to her right away. She sent us pictures and updates during his visit. It was a real peace of mind to know that he was in such good hands. We would definitely book Leo in with Cassidy again and again.”

“Bianca was wonderful! She had great communication and sent regular photo updates, which we really appreciated. My dog is very shy and timid, but Bianca did an amazing job and made her feel comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.”

About: I grew up with at minimum 4 dogs at all times, ranging from Border collies, to Shepard mixes, to Jack Russell and fox terriers. I learned from a young age the best way to train dogs specific to their breeds and personalities and I have lots of experience caring for pups from the day they were born into old age. I understand the importance of exercise, routine and play for our furry friends. I say I have 7 years of experience caring for pets, but really it is 30+ years at this point, the 7 years comes from a boom in friends getting dogs and the beginning of me taking care of their pets when they go on vacation, have family/medical emergencies etc. I live less than a block from a park that is off-leash-optional (the park has a cute communal dog toy box also) and I live in a quiet neighbourhood where I can stroll with your pup on-leash for exercise if that is preferred. I also carry my own pups to designated off leash areas where they can run forest trails with me, or just hike around. Depending on your pups needs and what you and I discuss, play/exercise time for your pup may involve all three. My home has a fenced in back yard which is great for toilet breaks and serves as a play area also, if your pup is so inclined :) I have two pups of my own, a Border Collie and a Wire Haired Griffon, both friendly gals, the Border Collie is becoming a senior gal and generally pays no attention to other dogs past an introductory sniff, the Griffon is 4 years old and loves to play if your pup is willing, if not, no issues, she is not forceful in anyway. I can say with confidence that your pups will be in safe hands, well taken care of and loved while I am looking after them. I work a flexible schedule from my home office. My doggy caring day typically starts with at least a 30 - 40 min neighbour hood walk before 8:00 am. Backyard toilet and exercise breaks around 10:00. 30 - 40 min neighbourhood/park lunch walk around noon. More toilet/stretch the legs breaks around 2:00. Off-leash Forest walk around 4:30/5:00 (Or on-leash depending on the pup, and if a forest walk doesn't suit, then more time in the beautiful neighbourhood often heading to a larger fenced in municipal park about 10 mins walk away) Obviously, meals are given as per your pups schedule and lots of treats throughout the day (unless you tell me not to) I have a fully fenced in back yard, with two friendly pups for company for your pup. The house itself is very dog friendly, pups are allowed onto the couch, but not the beds or other furniture. There are many dog beds in various rooms for pooches to sleep in as they wish. When walking/exercising your dog, I will only walk your dog on-leash in the neighborhood and in any area that is not well fenced in. If your dog is reactive, timid, has any health concerns we can discuss and I will be sure to adjust my routine around those needs. I will do exactly what you ask of me when it comes to feeding, play, keeping your pup on-leash, treats etc. Should the unlikely happen and I need to bring your dog to a vet unexpectedly, I will have your contact details, your vets contact details and I live within 5 mins drive of the emergency vet hospital. Your pup will be well looked after.
“Andrea has been so patient with our new puppy, she treats her as if she was a part of the family. I have no doubt Nyx is already looking forward to her next visit!”

About: I currently have a Sphynx (high maintenance cat breed with very specific needs) so I’m comfortable with tailored routines, diet restrictions, and reading an animal’s particular quirks.. I also grew up with dogs (multiple Border Collies) so I know the energy and exercise they need too. Whether your pet wants constant attention, space, or a specific routine, I adjust to what actually works for them :) I am currently working part time, so I have free time in my week and would love to drop in and take care of your animal(s). Typically I work Thursday-Saturday or Sunday, but am happy to accommodate as best I can if you need support during those days. In your home, I stick closely to their feeding schedule, walks, and any specific instructions, staying attentive to their comfort in their own environment throughout each visit. *I have a cat in my home, (2 bd duplex house). I am happy to have your pet stay in my home if they’re patient/friendly towards cats and my cat gets along with them -would need to discuss/meet & greet prior to me hosting*

About: What sets me apart is my hands-on experience with animals of all kinds. I worked with horses for five years and have spent the last three years working with and around dogs. I also raised and trained my own dog from puppyhood, who is now a government-certified service dog. That journey taught me patience, consistency, and how to understand each animal’s unique needs. I treat every pet as if they were my own, focusing on their safety, comfort, and happiness while you’re away. Pet care is part of my daily routine through walks, enrichment, training, and personalized care. I prioritize consistency, reliability, and giving every pet individual attention. I provide attentive, personalized care in every home. With parks, trails, and Beacon Hill nearby, pets enjoy safe walks, enrichment, playtime, and plenty of affection.
“Rojin took wonderful care of my senior Boston Terrier and I would definitely book her again. She is kind, thoughtful and patient and was available at short notice as well. Thanks again Rojin!”

“I felt very lucky to find a sitter that would take my pup and Tannis (and her patient family) spent quality time with my girl. Her location was perfect for me, I picked up a very happy puppy, and I could not feel more confident leaving my sweet girl in her care. Thank you Tannis!”

“Finn and Kai were available for a same-day request to dogsit my Alaskan Malamute, and he came home happy as ever to have gotten to spend time with some lovely new friends! Finn and Kai were very receptive to my worries about my dog being an escape artist and somewhat reactive with other dogs. I would 110% request them to have my dog come hang out with them again should we need another sitter for him in the future :)”

“It’s actually Ollie’s very first daycare in 8 years. I’m glad I found Sandeep on rover to look after my fur baby while his pawrents can enjoy a round of golf on the island. Highly recommend and thank you!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Victoria
Ramesh and Lauren (and their sweet cats) were wonderful with our senior dog. They accommodated us on short notice and took fantastic care of her. On both stays she came home happy and relaxed, and we felt completely confident leaving her in their safe, trustworthy hands. We’d happily book with them again!

Allison and Tarun were very kind and attentive to our little dog’s needs. He was just after dental surgery and he was a last minute booking too. We felt they listened to what Scotty’s character and mannerisms were and they adhered to our wishes for his care. I liked that they also had a baby gate to ensure that he didn’t do a Houdini act! We would definitely book with them again for Scotty. Thank you Allison and Tarun.

We are so thankful for Katy and Rachelle! They really helped us out in a distressing situation when we were scrambling on short notice to find a sitter.. We live in Kelowna and we needed daycare for our 4.5 month old aussie shepherd so we could spend the day with family and friends to celebrate the life of our son who recently passed. When dropping Roxi off, she didn’t even care that we were leaving her, which speaks volumes to the gentle vibe that Roxi could sense immediately. Katy and Rachelle gave Roxi the care and love she needed. If we ever need a sitter while traveling to Victoria we know who we’ll book!

Finn and Kai were available for a same-day request to dogsit my Alaskan Malamute, and he came home happy as ever to have gotten to spend time with some lovely new friends! Finn and Kai were very receptive to my worries about my dog being an escape artist and somewhat reactive with other dogs. I would 110% request them to have my dog come hang out with them again should we need another sitter for him in the future :)

Suzanne was exceptionally patient and kind with our dog, and it was clear she genuinely cared about him and attended to his needs. She kept us updated with photos during his stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. Our dog looked happy, relaxed, and really seemed to enjoy his time with her. We will definitely ask her to take care of him again when we come back to Victoria!

Kirsten and Guy are the kindest truest animal people and we know Poppy was in good hands. Their adorable and enthusiastic pup, Rory, was the perfect pal for the day, too. They were available for check-ins and sent pictures, we were very happy with our experience. Thanks guys!

Alana was amazing with our 5 month old puppy! She sent us photos throughout the day, which we really appreciated, and it was so nice to see how happy and comfortable he was. He settled in right away and seemed completely at home with her. She also lives in a great location near a beautiful park, so he got lots of outdoor time and exercise. We picked up a happy, tired pup at the end of the day and wouldn’t hesitate to leave Ollie with Alana again. Highly recommend her!

Kristina was wonderful! Our pup warmed to her instantly and spent the whole evening snoozing at her feet. She sent us regular updates and made sure Billie had time for potty breaks. Looking forward to being back in Victoria so Billie can hang out with Kristina and Herman again!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Victoria commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
