“Katy and Rachelle took such great care of Jet with short notice, and their dog Tater graciously shared the space! Jet was happy and healthy when I picked him up 🙂”

“Shravistha and her husband were very warm and welcoming from the moment I dropped off my puppy. I explained that this was my puppy’s first time staying with a dog sitter, and they were both very understanding, patient, and caring. They kept me updated throughout the day with messages and photos, which gave me peace of mind knowing my puppy was safe and comfortable. It was clear that they genuinely cared and went above and beyond to make him feel at home. My puppy received lots of attention, affection, and excellent care. I truly appreciated the regular updates and communication. I highly recommend Shravistha to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and compassionate pet sitter. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of my puppy! 🐾❤️”

“Andrea took such good care of my girl Piper. Piper can be quite anxious (and as a result I get anxious to leave her with anyone!) and Andrea was so understanding and patient with her. She sent me several updates about how Piper was doing throughout the day which I really appreciate. Would definitely recommend!”

“Bianca kindly took Pickford for the day on short notice. Communication was great and I appreciated the photos throughout the day. He seems to have settled in very quickly and we came back to a happy, rested dog. Would definitely recommend.”

“Rojin took wonderful care of our little dog, Paulo. She was reliable, kind, and clearly very caring with him. We really appreciated the updates and the peace of mind knowing he was in such good hands.”
“Finn and Kai were great with my reactive dog. It’s always tricky finding the right people to take on that challenge. They are conveniently located near a very pet-friendly hotel (Hotel Zed) so it worked super-well for our weekend trip to Victoria.”

“Melissa took great care of our little Luna! This was our first time using Rover and we were very nervous to leave our heart and soul with someone we didn’t know but Melissa was very reassuring and communicative to ease our worries and sent lots of pictures and updates! We would definitely use her again and recommend to anyone else looking for good care for their pup. :)”

“Romeo came back happy and we received a couple of updates during the day which was lovely I appreciated the quick communication and ability to book the next day as well as Mackenzie's willingness to introduce her cat slowly and keep an eye on them. Now we know Romeo is OK with them 😊 Will book with her again”

About: I have over 10 years of hands-on animal care experience across Japan and Canada. I’ve worked as a dog bather, a veterinary nurse, a zookeeper, and even led sled dog expeditions with 300+ dogs in the Arctic. I’m comfortable with all sizes and breeds, and I genuinely love dogs walking them is one of my favorite things to do. I attend a professional dog grooming program five days a week on weekday mornings, so I’m available for pet care in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. I’m flexible within those hours and happy to work out a schedule that fits your routine. I treat every pet as an individual and always prioritize their comfort and stress levels. I’m also a cat owner myself, so I understand how important it is to keep a calm, safe environment. My veterinary nursing background means I can recognize signs of illness or anxiety early and respond appropriately.
“We’re so happy we found Priya and Sandeep. They were kind, professional, and really considerate of us and our pup. We felt comfortable leaving our boy with them immediately. Thank you again! We’ll see you soon! Colin misses you!”

“We were so happy we found Neil when we visited the Island for a hockey tournament. Our little Boston spent 3 days with him and each day we dropped her off she was so excited to see him! Neil is a very kind and caring human and his place looked very neat and tidy. Neil is a 10/10. I would highly recommend his services and we’d go back to him in a heart beat.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Victoria
Alana was amazing with our 5 month old puppy! She sent us photos throughout the day, which we really appreciated, and it was so nice to see how happy and comfortable he was. He settled in right away and seemed completely at home with her. She also lives in a great location near a beautiful park, so he got lots of outdoor time and exercise. We picked up a happy, tired pup at the end of the day and wouldn’t hesitate to leave Ollie with Alana again. Highly recommend her!

Kristina was wonderful! Our pup warmed to her instantly and spent the whole evening snoozing at her feet. She sent us regular updates and made sure Billie had time for potty breaks. Looking forward to being back in Victoria so Billie can hang out with Kristina and Herman again!

Romeo came back happy and we received a couple of updates during the day which was lovely I appreciated the quick communication and ability to book the next day as well as Mackenzie's willingness to introduce her cat slowly and keep an eye on them. Now we know Romeo is OK with them 😊 Will book with her again

April was very kind and asked for a meet and greet to make sure our pup and her dog would get along. In the end April's dog was booked on a daycare walk and was out of the house on the day we dropped our dog off. Regardless, it was good of her to see if the dogs were a good fit together before we dropped ours off. Our dog had a nice, relaxing day at home alone with April - she sent us pictures! Thank you!

- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions

- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Victoria commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
