“Andrea took my dog in last minute and freed up some days to watch her longer. I was able to bring macie to her house beforehand to see if Macie was comfortable and could trust her giving all of Macie’s medications. She also sent me photos everyday which I really appreciated !”

About: I had a large dog for 12 plus years. I love how active and different all dogs are. Their fun personality speaks volumes about each breed! I have a very flexible work day. I also work a 5 minute walk from home so it is easy to check in with pets. I'm off on weekends and early on Fridays for outdoor adventures. I have a fenced yard for day time play. I live I'm a beautiful walkable neighborhood for more adventures. There are no Pets here to make your pet feel more comfortable

“Bianca kindly took Pickford for the day on short notice. Communication was great and I appreciated the photos throughout the day. He seems to have settled in very quickly and we came back to a happy, rested dog. Would definitely recommend.”

About: I've loved and cared for animals for over 15 years. Growing up, I had both cats and dogs, and caring for them has always been a big part of my life. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their pets while they were away. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, so I always take the time to make them feel safe, loved, and comfortable. Whether your dog enjoys long walks, playing fetch, or simply relaxing with company, I'll make sure they receive the attention and care they deserve. As a mom, I'm patient, responsible, and attentive to details. I treat every pet as if they were my own and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you're away. I work from home, which allows me to spend plenty of quality time with the pets in my care. If your pet enjoys companionship, they're welcome to relax beside me in my home office while I work. Throughout the day, I take regular breaks for walks, potty breaks, playtime, feeding, and lots of affection. My flexible schedule allows me to provide consistent attention, making sure your pet feels safe, loved, and never left alone for long periods. I enjoy having pets around, and I treat every one of them as part of the family while they're with me. My home offers a safe and pet-friendly environment with a fully fenced backyard for supervised outdoor time, as well as a large open green space directly in front of the house that's perfect for walks, sniffing, and exercise. Every pet has different needs, so I always follow the owner's instructions regarding routines, feeding, exercise, sleeping arrangements, and any special care requirements. If your dog is crate-trained or you prefer them to be crated during certain times, I'm happy to accommodate that. My goal is to make your pet feel as comfortable as possible by maintaining their normal routine. I also have two young boys, ages 10 and 3, so I ask that pets staying in our home are comfortable around respectful children. We believe in creating a calm, loving environment where every pet feels safe, welcome, and part of the family.
About: My experience over the years with dogs has been with a variety of different breeds, ages and behaviors. I volunteered fostering dogs at the Victoria Humane Society 2 yrs ago (2022) where I gained a lot of experience with different temperaments and ages/mixed breeds. When they were adopted, it broke my heart so I adopted a beagle, Copper, in 2023. The highlight of my experience was working for Island Miniature Schnauzers outside of Sooke in 2016 for 8 months. My duties were: Home Life training for adopted puppies. This provided the new owners one week of me training the puppy at my home. This included walking on leash for the first time, crate training, schedule for house training, socializing with other dogs and people to name a few.. I provided video and pictures to the new owners to keep them up to date on progress. I also took older Shnauzers who were used to farm life and adapted them to urban life by going on leashed walks, greeting new dogs and people. I also learned to groom puppies and older dogs as well. You can see in all my photo's with the Schnauzer puppies and dogs that I trained while working for IMS. Over the years I have taken care of friends/family dogs and cats at their home. I treat all animals like my very own. I massage them, comfort them them and just love them up! I have a nice sized fenced in backyard for play. There are many trails, beaches and lakes that we go on each day. I'd like to meet first to see if Copper and I are a good fit for you and your fur baby. Please see my IG account for most of the dogs in my care starting in 2016. (copper_the_beagle_trofimuk) Depending on your dogs level of care, adjusting the cost is a flexibility I offer. We walk once or 2x a day and I have a nice sized backyard. Games and training time are incorporated into our day. I aim to make it as balanced and fun as possible. I offer 2 walks a day. There are many places to walk close to my house & the galloping goose trail is behind my gate. My backyard is a good size for wrestling, running and playing. I am currently revamping my yard to make it more dog friendly. Naps and downtime are a must for a happy healthy dog. The dogs sleep with me unless they need to be in a crate.

About: Your pup will never get bored at our house! We know that a TIRED dog is a HAPPY dog. That's why we make it a priority to exercise and stimulate our furry friends first thing, and throughout the day, every day. There is nothing more satisfying than a calm, tired dog! We are a dog loving family with two sons, ages 11 and 14, with many years of experience with dogs of all breeds and sizes. I am a stay at home mom and Travis works from home 3 out 5 days, so your pup will never be lonely. I love the excuse to get out for early morning hikes and the opportunity to walk as a family after school and in the evenings. We have a large property with lots of space to run and play and multiple beaches, including a dog park, within walking distance. And there will be no shortage of cuddles and stimulation at our house - the kids love to play and engage with all dogs. Who knows? Your pooch may even come home with some new tricks! We are comfortable with all ages, breeds and sizes and we are confident and experienced dog handlers. We truly care about providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for every dog who stays with us. When your dog is with us, they are part of the family. When you're on vacation, they'll be on vacation too! Our family is available to care for your dog 24/7! Pup care is my main gig and I have a flexible schedule. Being home with your pup or keeping them by my side is my priority. Because we only take a maximum of 2 dogs at a time, you can leave your pup knowing they are getting highly individualized care. Please note, if our calendar is showing availability, there is a chance we have 1 other dog booked who has been pre-screened to socialize well with other dogs. Our big yard has lots of space to play, however it is not fenced so we will never leave your dog outside unattended. In our home your dog will be loved and cared for as our own and we will do everything we can to make them feel comfortable. We are happy to accommodate your dog's regular routine to help make the transition as easeful as possible. Our cat, R2D2, generally ignores dogs and spends his nights outside but if your dog has a strong prey drive or tendency to chase cats, they might not be the best fit.
“Montana was very communicative and great with our very shy guy! I think Marvin is bummed to come home with us after all the fun and cuddles he had all afternoon. Thanks so much! - Marvin and family”

“Olivia was an amazing dog sitter! She took such great care of Bullet and kept me constantly updated with messages and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. Her puppy Adonis was the perfect companion for Bullet — they had an absolute blast together! It’s clear Olivia truly loves animals and treats them like her own. I’ll definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Our dog Olly had a great day at daycare with Christian, Chinel and Benny! Olly can be a bit nervous but he had no issues spending the day with them. They sent us lots of updates with pictures and were super responsive.”

Jason is awesome, and Reggie absolutely loves him! I really needed help and he accepted our request at the very last minute. Reggie was sick, Jason did an amazing job looking after him while I was at work. He kept me updated throughout the day and was very responsive. I will definitely use his services again in the future

Remi & Marie-Julie are amazing! They took great care of our Hank while we were moving. They sent along some fabulous photos of him and he was more than happy when we picked him up. 110% recommend them and we will definitely reach out to them again in the future should we need someone to look after Hank and know we don’t have to worry about him for a second!

Valerie and Thomas are amazing people who both exceeded all expectations for our pup. They eased all worries and stress and continuosly updated us throughout the day. They are both incredibly calm, understanding and kind people who provided the utmost care for our pup. They understood the means necessary to ease our dogs anxiety and shyness and made him feel the most comfortable he could ever be in a new environment. I would highly recommend Valerie and Thomas, I have never been so pleased with a service anywhere. I am incredibly thankful to have found them and couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Langford commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
