About: My experience over the years with dogs has been with a variety of different breeds, ages and behaviors. I volunteered fostering dogs at the Victoria Humane Society 2 yrs ago (2022) where I gained a lot of experience with different temperaments and ages/mixed breeds. The highlight of my experience was working for Island Miniature Schnauzers outside of Sooke in 2016 for 8 months. My duties were: Home Life training for adopted puppies. This provided the new owners one week of me training the puppy at my home. This included walking on leash for the first time, crate training, schedule for house training, socializing with other dogs and people to name a few.. I provided video and pictures to the new owners to keep them up to date on progress. I also took older Shnauzers who were used to farm life and adapted them to urban life by going on leashed walks, greeting new dogs and people. I also learned to groom puppies and older dogs as well. You can see in all my photo's with the Schnauzer puppies and dogs that I trained while working for IMS. Over the years I have taken care of friends/family dogs and cats at their home. I treat all animals like my very own. I massage them, comfort them them and just love them up! I have a nice sized fenced in backyard for play. There are many trails, beaches and lakes that we go on each day. Depending on your dogs level of care, adjusting the cost is a flexibility I offer. We walk once or 2x a day and I have a nice sized backyard. Games and training time are incorporated into our day. I aim to make it as balanced and fun as possible. I offer 2 walks a day. There are many places to walk close to my house & the galloping goose trail is behind my gate. My backyard is a good size for wrestling, running and playing. I am currently revamping my yard to make it more dog friendly. Naps and downtime are a must for a happy healthy dog. The dogs sleep with me unless they need to be in a crate.

I have experience with subcutaneous injections as well( insulin and vitamins). I will love your animals as my own. I work afternoons between 4-8 and weekends 1-8. I will have plenty of time to spend with them walking playing and feeding ensuring they have been taken care of. They will be walked, played with and cuddled. I will follow your directions and am able to medicate and follow complex care plans. I have had both large and small dogs. Animals have always been an important part of our lives. Karly grew up with a loyal yellow Labrador, and Brent was raised in a home filled with beloved family pets. Today, we share our home with Ace, our beautiful five-year-old Goldendoodle. We have dedicated significant time to his training and development. Ace is a well-behaved and very social. He loves all other dogs and animals. We both work from home Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., which allows us to provide consistent supervision and companionship. Each morning we go for a 30 to 45 minute walk and in the evenings we prioritize walking ace for 1 to 2 hours. On weekends, we spend much of our time exploring the mountains and trails of Vancouver Island, often seeking out new local hikes. We truly enjoy welcoming other dogs into our home. Socialization, regular exercise, and individualized care are priorities for us. Our goal is to ensure that every dog in our care feels safe, relaxed, well-exercised, and completely at home. I am currently working full time 8:15 to 4:30pm with a flex day every other Monday. I am available in the mornings before work or the evenings after work as well as on Flex-Mondays, and Saturday and Sunday all day. We live in a beautiful 2 bedroom garden suite in the lower half of a home we own with our family. Our home has full walk out access to a fenced backyard. We are also a 5 minute walk to the Thetis lake and Mill Hill, and a 5 minute drive to a dog a park.
About: Have had dogs and cats all my life, helped others with their pet care. A relative is a professional dog trainer and I have learned from her about disciplining dogs in a loving way. I am semi-retired and am not working at the moment so I have a lot of flexibility with my time. I am physically active and like to go for walks. My home is available for pets and besides myself the only people here are gentle with all pets. I am also available to go to client’s homes.
