About: I have taken care of many dogs, cats, rodents and reptiles since I was 10. Trusted by friends, family and neighbours to follow strict care plans and medication instructions I’m currently working part time so I have plenty of time to cuddle and care for your pets. My work schedule is often fluid so I can make sure I’m home whenever needed. I live in an apartment right on the Galloping Goose Trail that is perfect for long walks. I have a very social cat who loves playing with other cats and dogs, perfect if you are wanting to socialize your fur baby’s.

About: I grew up with lots of dogs, and bunnies too. I have cared for dogs my whole life as my mom took in strays. I am very attentive and personable with animals and they can sense that. I believe exercise is really important for an animals wellbeing. Also, dogs need lots of attention and social interaction so that they can thrive in their families and with other dogs. I'm in great shape so I can keep up with the gentle giants! I am also a proud mom so I am very nurturing and attentive to others needs. I'm really excited to meet some furry pals. Please do feel free to call me with any questions you may have, I'm happy to chat! Thanks. Cheers. Stephanie

About: I have a lot of hands on experience of all types of dogs. I have dog-sat before for family members and I know the importance of knowing your pet is safe and cared for in your absence. I work remotely, and love going on walks - I’ve got extra time since I’m not commuting and I’d love to spend it hanging out with dogs and getting some fresh air! I think it’s important to listen to a dog’s cues and get a sense of what they need. Safety is of the utmost importance, for both dogs and humans.

About: I have had animals my entire life and have been extremely involved in training and ensuring they get the best care possible! I have done a lot of dog training in reactivity, separation anxiety, and use positive reinforcement to ensure that the relationship between me and my pet(s) is built on love and trust. With every new pet, I let them approach me and I build a foundation of trust so that obedience is not something forced but given! I work part time but I have blocked out those days so that it won’t interfere, but other wise I work 7 hour shifts so if your pet is staying when I am working, they would have to be comfortable being home alone for those hours I care for my pets by using positive reinforcement and consistency. Consistency is key and is very beneficial for ensuring my pets can succeed in all aspects of their lives. I understand dog body language and know when to approach, let them be, or let them come to me. It’s about listening to boundaries, just like with us humans!

About: My family owned a Golden Retriever for several years while I was growing up. As an adult, I have also helped care for family members’ dogs, including walks, feeding, and maintaining routines while owners were away. What I’m comfortable with: • Feeding and keeping up with their routines • Leashed walks and outdoor potty breaks • Playtime and companionship • Caring for calm to moderately active dogs • Providing consistent updates and photos I am patient, calm, and attentive, and I always follow your instructions closely to help your dogs feel safe and secure in my care. Your dog’s comfort and well-being is my top priority. Small Animal Care (Drop-In Visits): I also have experience caring for small animals such as rats, hamsters, and chinchillas. I have owned small animals (rats and hamsters) in the past and am comfortable with daily care routines including feeding, cage cleaning, enrichment, and health monitoring. While Rover does not list small animals as a separate service category, I’m happy to discuss drop-in visits for small pets with owners to see if I’m a good fit. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available for daytime, evening, and weekend drop-in visits. I can accommodate pets who need mid-day check-ins, consistent routines, or extra attention :) I update my Rover calendar regularly and am happy to discuss scheduling needs in advance. I follow your instructions closely and stick to your pet’s routine. I make sure doors and windows are secure, food and water are fresh, litter boxes or habitats are clean, and the environment is safe before and after each visit. I always double-check locks when entering and leaving. With cats, I respect their boundaries and take time to observe behaviour, appetite, and litter box habits. I provide playtime or quiet companionship depending on the cat’s personality and keep stress to a minimum by maintaining their normal routine. For dogs, I make sure leashes, collars, and harnesses are properly fitted before walks, avoid unsafe areas, and never allow off-leash time unless explicitly approved by the owner. I monitor energy levels and weather conditions to keep walks safe and comfortable. For small animals (such as rats, hamsters, or chinchillas), I focus on proper feeding, clean habitats, gentle handling when appropriate, and checking that enclosures are secure. I offer playtime if approved by you. I keep owners updated with messages and photos after each visit and will contact them immediately if I notice anything unusual. Building trust with you and your pet is very important to me, and I treat every pet and home with care and respect.

About: Hello, we’re Karly and Brent. We offer a safe and welcoming home environment for dogs, in our ground-level suite with direct, walk-out access to a fully fenced backyard, which allows us to have exclusive door-to-yard access for seamless potty breaks and supervised playtime. We are conveniently located just five minutes from Thetis Lake and Mill Hill, providing excellent opportunities for outdoor activity and exploration. Animals have always been an important part of our lives. Karly grew up with a loyal yellow Labrador, and Brent was raised in a home filled with beloved family pets. Today, we share our home with Ace, our beautiful five-year-old Goldendoodle. We have dedicated significant time to his training and development. Ace is a well-behaved and very social. He loves all other dogs and animals. We both work from home Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., which allows us to provide consistent supervision and companionship. Each morning we go for a 30 to 45 minute walk and in the evenings we prioritize walking ace for 1 to 2 hours. On weekends, we spend much of our time exploring the mountains and trails of Vancouver Island, often seeking out new local hikes. We truly enjoy welcoming other dogs into our home. Socialization, regular exercise, and individualized care are priorities for us. Our goal is to ensure that every dog in our care feels safe, relaxed, well-exercised, and completely at home. I am currently working full time 8:15 to 4:30pm with a flex day every other Monday. I am available in the mornings before work or the evenings after work as well as on Flex-Mondays, and Saturday and Sunday all day. We live in a beautiful 2 bedroom garden suite in the lower half of a home we own with our family. Our home has full walk out access to a fenced backyard. We are also a 5 minute walk to the Thetis lake and Mill Hill, and a 5 minute drive to a dog a park.

About: As a dog parent myself, I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages and sizes and can help with walks, feeding, meds, and play. I treat every pup like my own—with love, patience, and lots of attention. Im currently working remotely so have plenty of time and flexibility to care for your pup! I have a black lab that loves to play and is always looking for a new buddy. I live close to a fenced dog park and lots of dog friendly walking trails. I have a dog of my own so I know how scary it can be to leave your fur baby but in my care they will have a furry friend as well as me.

About: I’m a lifelong animal lover who grew up with family dogs and cats and, until recently, shared my life with two incredible dogs of my own. I was a Rover client for years and always appreciated the peace of mind it brought me. I’m excited to give back and spend time with your animals. We live in a house with a fenced yard and a dog door that can be blocked or open. I love being outside and going for walks, and I especially enjoy building trust through positive reinforcement and trick training. I’m most comfortable with small to medium-sized dogs, particularly those who walk well on leash. I’m also a nurse, which gives me a strong comfort level with administering medications , whether it’s an easy pill pocket or a more challenging situation. I’ve had experience giving medications to both cooperative and more anxious dogs, and I always approach it with patience and gentleness. Whether your dog needs a fun walk, some cuddles, or a bit of extra care, I’d love the chance to be there for them. I am a nurse with flexibility with my schedule. I have lots of free time during the day for dog walking and pet care. My flexible schedule allows me to give your pets the attention, exercise, and care they deserve whether it’s a mid-morning walk, afternoon playtime or all day company. I understand that every dog has their own unique personality, quirks, and routines. I’m happy to follow any specific instructions you provide to make sure your pup feels comfortable, safe, and cared for and keeps their routine.

I have been using Alyssa for months now and I cannot recommend her enough. She has been absolutely fantastic with my pup. She’s reliable, caring and very attentive. Her communication is excellent and she provides lots of photos and updates. She’s been very flexible and accommodation on scheduling. I know my dog lights up when she arrives. Her genuine love for animals is very obvious. One evening I was unable to answer my phone at work to let her into my building and after waiting for a while she left but came back at a later time to make sure he still got out. She definitely goes above and beyond. You’d be hard to find better!

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Langford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 90% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
