Hope has been great with Charlie! He's an older guy and needs someone who is incredibly patient with his old man moods and days when he just wants to be slow. On days when Hope walks him, he is extra excited when we get home from work and I can tell he loves the added attention mid-day. We love having Hope walk Charlie, and I think Charlie would agree.

About: My journey with dogs started early. I have loved and cared for my very own dog since I was 10 years old. This lifelong experience taught me how to read dog body language. I truly understand their routines, signals, and emotional needs. As I grew older, I naturally began pet sitting for my friends. I have successfully managed everything from high-energy outdoor walks to quiet, cozy evenings at home. I know exactly how to adapt to each unique pet's personality. I am currently working part-time and I am available Wednesday and thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, as well as on Saturdays from 11:00 PM to 6:00 PM When caring for pets at my home, I provide a safe, fully supervised, and loving environment with plenty of playtime and attention. For services at your home, I strictly follow your pet's regular routine, ensure your property is completely secure, and send regular photo updates so you can have total peace of mind.

About: Hello, we’re Karly and Brent. We offer a safe and welcoming home environment for dogs, in our ground-level suite with direct, walk-out access to a fully fenced backyard, which allows us to have exclusive door-to-yard access for seamless potty breaks and supervised playtime. We are conveniently located just five minutes from Thetis Lake and Mill Hill, providing excellent opportunities for outdoor activity and exploration. Animals have always been an important part of our lives. Karly grew up with a loyal yellow Labrador, and Brent was raised in a home filled with beloved family pets. Today, we share our home with Ace, our beautiful five-year-old Goldendoodle. We have dedicated significant time to his training and development. Ace is a well-behaved and very social. He loves all other dogs and animals. We both work from home Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., which allows us to provide consistent supervision and companionship. Each morning we go for a 30 to 45 minute walk and in the evenings we prioritize walking ace for 1 to 2 hours. On weekends, we spend much of our time exploring the mountains and trails of Vancouver Island, often seeking out new local hikes. We truly enjoy welcoming other dogs into our home. Socialization, regular exercise, and individualized care are priorities for us. Our goal is to ensure that every dog in our care feels safe, relaxed, well-exercised, and completely at home. I am currently working full time 8:15 to 4:30pm with a flex day every other Monday. I am available in the mornings before work or the evenings after work as well as on Flex-Mondays, and Saturday and Sunday all day. We live in a beautiful 2 bedroom garden suite in the lower half of a home we own with our family. Our home has full walk out access to a fenced backyard. We are also a 5 minute walk to the Thetis lake and Mill Hill, and a 5 minute drive to a dog a park.

About: Hello Pet Parents! My name is Kassie and I have been caring for animals ranging from hamsters to cats and dogs since I was a young child. My love for all animals has taken me into a career specializing in preventing cruelty to animals; through the BC SPCA. I've had dogs and cats throughout my life and if you choose me to watch your babies, they will be well taken care of! I work from home so my schedule is flexible! I love long walks and can throw a ball for hours! If I am boarding your pet, I do have a 1 year old tuxedo cat in the home. He is incredible. He loves dogs and cats and has been the best foster dad in the past! I look forward to hearing about your fur babies! I work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. I would walk your pets or come to your home to check on/feed them before work and after work if I were attending to them at your home. If they’re at my home, I have the flexibility to play with them at any point in the day & take them out In my home, your pet’s safety and comfort come first. I create a calm, pet-friendly environment free of hazards, with cozy resting spots, secure outdoor access (if needed), and plenty of stimulation to keep them happy and relaxed. I have been using Alyssa for months now and I cannot recommend her enough. She has been absolutely fantastic with my pup. She’s reliable, caring and very attentive. Her communication is excellent and she provides lots of photos and updates. She’s been very flexible and accommodation on scheduling. I know my dog lights up when she arrives. Her genuine love for animals is very obvious. One evening I was unable to answer my phone at work to let her into my building and after waiting for a while she left but came back at a later time to make sure he still got out. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Langford choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 93% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
