I follow your instructions closely and stick to your pet’s routine. I make sure doors and windows are secure, food and water are fresh, litter boxes or habitats are clean, and the environment is safe before and after each visit. I always double-check locks when entering and leaving. With cats, I respect their boundaries and take time to observe behaviour, appetite, and litter box habits. I provide playtime or quiet companionship depending on the cat’s personality and keep stress to a minimum by maintaining their normal routine. For dogs, I make sure leashes, collars, and harnesses are properly fitted before walks, avoid unsafe areas, and never allow off-leash time unless explicitly approved by the owner. I monitor energy levels and weather conditions to keep walks safe and comfortable. For small animals (such as rats, hamsters, or chinchillas), I focus on proper feeding, clean habitats, gentle handling when appropriate, and checking that enclosures are secure. I offer playtime if approved by you. I keep owners updated with messages and photos after each visit and will contact them immediately if I notice anything unusual. Building trust with you and your pet is very important to me, and I treat every pet and home with care and respect.

If possible, I prefer to do a meet-and-greet beforehand so I can get to know you and your pet 😊 It’s helpful for me to know how your pet reacts to strangers (shy, anxious, spicy, or very friendly) and whether there are any behaviors I should pay special attention to. I also appreciate knowing what kinds of play, toys, and activities your pet enjoys so I can make each visit engaging and comfortable. For cats and small animals especially, I’d love to know about their litter box or cage setup and any specific handling requirements. Lastly, please let me know where supplies are kept, how to enter the home, and who to contact in case of an emergency. Having this information helps me provide safe, personalized care for your pet while also safeguarding your home.
A typical day
With my day-to-day activities, I like to center everything around what each pet needs. During drop-in visits, I always ask owners in advance about their pet’s preferences, routines, and favorite activities. I understand that every pet has their own personality and play style. If needed, I can provide calming playtime or more stimulating, energetic play depending on the pet. For pets that are highly food-motivated (like my cat Youppi or my family’s dog 😊), I enjoy using food puzzles or practicing simple tricks. For pets that aren’t very food-motivated, I ask owners what types of toys or activities they enjoy and stick closely to what makes them most comfortable and happy. Because my schedule is very flexible, I’m able to provide attentive drop-in visits and adjust my time and care to meet your pet’s individual needs.

My family owned a Golden Retriever for several years while I was growing up. As an adult, I have also helped care for family members’ dogs, including walks, feeding, and maintaining routines while owners were away. What I’m comfortable with: • Feeding and keeping up with their routines • Leashed walks and outdoor potty breaks • Playtime and companionship • Caring for calm to moderately active dogs • Providing consistent updates and photos I am patient, calm, and attentive, and I always follow your instructions closely to help your dogs feel safe and secure in my care. Your dog’s comfort and well-being is my top priority. Small Animal Care (Drop-In Visits): I also have experience caring for small animals such as rats, hamsters, and chinchillas. I have owned small animals (rats and hamsters) in the past and am comfortable with daily care routines including feeding, cage cleaning, enrichment, and health monitoring. While Rover does not list small animals as a separate service category, I’m happy to discuss drop-in visits for small pets with owners to see if I’m a good fit.
