“SHES ABSOLUTELY AWESOME Promoptly replied back to my dog walking cry for help. Was able to bust a wheel in her whip down to my crib. She kicked in my door stole my dog and she said to me " run run as fast as you can fat man, you won't catch me cuz I'm the ginger bread man. And then she grabbed my dog by the tail with her huge super hero hands jumped off my patio head first. Then in an hour after the door was repaired and back on the hinges she kicked my door back in. She threw my dog across my living room then jumped off the patio head first again. My dog is happier then two pigs in.........shut the front door.”

“Kirk was absolutely wonderful with our dog Henri. This was our first time booking with him and we honestly couldn’t have felt better about it. He took such great care of Henri, kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was clear from the start that Henri bonded right away with him. What really stood out was how attentive he was - when Henri seemed a little off one day, Kirk checked in right away, adjusted the walk, and even offered to come back later just to make sure he was okay. That kind of care gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear that Kirk truly cares about the fur babies he works with. We came home to a happy pup, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book him again. Highly recommend!”

“We can’t say enough good things about our experience. Our dog is a rescue and can be a bit cautious, but you took the time to build trust and made her feel so comfortable. She gets the perfect mix of exercise, attention, and care. Truly exceptional and highly recommended!”

About: Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile! My name is Kate, and I've been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. Whether your companion is energetic, shy, playful, or prefers their own space, my goal is to provide thoughtful, dependable care that keeps them comfortable while you're away. I believe every animal is an individual. I take the time to learn their routines, respect their boundaries, and build trust at their own pace. I'm attentive to changes in behaviour, committed to following your care instructions closely, and happy to provide companionship, playtime, walks, feeding, fresh water, and plenty of affection tailored to your pet's personality. I've shared my life with cats since childhood and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs as well. I know how much trust it takes to leave a beloved pet in someone else's care. I'll treat your animals with the same patience, kindness, and respect that I would want for my own, and I'll do my best to ensure you return to happy, well-cared-for companions. My schedule is currently very flexible, allowing me to accommodate a wide range of booking times. I'm generally available on weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and I'll always do my best to work around your schedule whenever possible. When caring for pets in your home, I believe consistency is key. I'll follow your pet's usual routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter box cleaning, medications (if discussed in advance), and plenty of attention suited to their personality. During visits, I'll make sure your home is left secure, your pet is safe and comfortable, and I'll keep an eye out for any changes in behaviour, appetite, or wellbeing. For dogs, I'm happy to provide short walks tailored to their age, energy level, and any health considerations. I'll always use the equipment you provide, avoid unnecessary risks, and respect any instructions you have regarding routines, triggers, or training. My goal is to provide dependable, low-stress care so both you and your pet can feel comfortable while you're apart.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and love them with all my heart! I’ve walked dogs of all different size and am comfortable with big and strong pups. I can also handle dogs of any age, and cater to their needs! I’m a university student, just wanting to walk dogs in my spare time. I’m currently looking for a part time job, and am pretty flexible in between that. I would never harm an animal in any way, I always want to give them the best treatment possible. Of course while also not letting them misbehave too badly. My way of disciplining animals involves withholding treats or getting a time out and a talking to. I really love animals and just enjoy spending time with them!
About: The most important part of understanding an animal is reading their body language and observing their behavior. They tell us very clearly what they're feeling/needing. Once they feel understood, safe and sense the loving vibe, everything is calm. I have been an animal lover all my life, with both cats and dogs in my home. I have a very friendly, playful 2 year old mixed-breed dog who gets along with every dog he's ever met. He's gentle with the little ones and seniors and adores finding a dog friend with similar energy to wrestle and run with. If your dog is social, mine will make yours feel right at home. I do not have a fixed schedule, so I am flexible and have time to watch and ensure that everyone is happy and getting along. I have a large fenced yard and am close to several good trails and beaches. Every day will be filled with a fun dog adventure.
About: Grew up with three very stubborn terriers that required lots of structure and enrichment. Helped my family take care of them through all ages, from puppy to senior, including special caare such as medications I generally am able to work remotely with internet access as I am a graduatae student at UVIC. I have to be on campus Thursday & Friday 8-4 but I am able to return home to take for walks or bring to campus if pets are comfortable with that. I strive to provide the best environment for your pet and will do everything possible to ensure their comfort. I am unable to take pets into my own home, but I can provide outdoor time or make their own space as familiar as possible.
About: I love to be outside and constantly active, and would love a doggy companion to bound around town with. I have had dogs and cats growing up and spent weeks at a time babysitting multiple dogs at once with varying needs and health concerns. I am looking to support families who have attention loving dogs, but can't always provide them with the time and care they deserve. Our dogs are like our children and I value the relationship that owners have with their fur babies and will continually love and respect them as my own. I work best with small-medium sized dogs or gentle giants. Please reach out if you have any further questions and I look forward to meeting you and you! Thank you!
“Abigail was wonderful with my dog! She adjusted the walk time to accommodate the weather and made sure she didn’t get overheated or dehydrated. She kept me updated and brought her back happy, with plenty of water and potty breaks. Excellent communication throughout — would definitely recommend her!”

Was super responsive when booking. I really appreciated how she was able to do a last minute walk booking. My dog can be very reserved with strangers to a fault and it seems she warmed right up to her despite their first meeting not even having us there! She took extra care to get introduced and I can tell by the photos my doggo had a good time. Thanks again!

So great meeting with Callum for the first time. We need to leave our pup over Christmas and never having left her with strangers before I was super nervous. Callum offered to meet with us to put our minds at ease before committing to a long term stay and I feel so relaxed about leaving her now. Thanks Callum!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Bay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
