“This was my first time booking Rover and I was extremely nervous to have someone looked after our dog overnight. I picked Kelsey as her profile seemed a good fit for Boo. Kelsey was proactive and offered to have a video call with us before the actual onboarding date. Kelsey is very professional and caring and welcoming to Boo! Not to mention, her cute and friendly dog Frankie! They have a nice sized yard for Boo to run around and play. Kelsey kept us updated about Boo’s trips and activities. My anxiety and fear went away- we just want the best for our fur baby when it comes to proper care. Boo returned with a huge smile on his face and a wagging tail. I highly recommend Kelsey.”

“Very happy with the sleepover, will recommend! I had been worried due to my boy being bigger at 70lbs but we had a good greet and meet. Thank you for a wonderful stay”

We know he’s in good hands and we are so thankful for that. It truly is a vacation for him when he is with her! Lots of cuddles, walks, treats and attention. Thank you Kendall! You are the best!”

“Holly was wonderful with our cat who was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Our cat is leery of strangers and since being diagnosed, she is highly stressed and not easy to manage. Holly was extremely patient and never gave up on her. At the end of four days, our cat was affectionate with Holly and loved being petted. Holly even managed to administer insulin injections, and her no-nonsense approach and perseverance paid off. We received pictures and videos which kept us in the loop with everything that was going on. We are very happy with Holly’s care!”

“Ida took such great care of our girl - she went on so many fun adventures, even a trip out to a pet-friendly restaurant! Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Bay
Heather and her family were amazing with our maltipoo. Due to his recent neck injury, we were looking for someone who didn't have a pet in their home. We didn't want him to get into "rough play" with another furry peer. He had a great stay, and he got to go out and about with the family. We appreciated the photos that Heather sent and the specific details in her messages. We knew by what she said that she understood our little guy's temperament and personality. We feel our senior dog was truly loved and cared for, and we have made another booking with Heather for an upcoming trip. We found her to be flexible, and she was open to us dropping by before he boarded to meet with her and her family. This gave us a great sense of the home and Heather's philosophy of pet care.

Angela was super helpful and attentive even before I officially booked with her, which gave me a lot of confidence from the start. Both Angela and her partner were great with Rico, and he seemed to really enjoy his time with them too. I’d definitely recommend them and wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again!

We recently left our dog with Lauren for 2 whole weeks! We'd never left her this long with anyone and it was our first time using a Rover sitter for her. Lauren put us at ease by making time to meet with her long before we booked. We were invited into her home and shown her backyard, time to chat and ask questions. One of my main concerns in leaving our dog was that she has a gastro issue and therefore needs to eat multiple smaller meals throughout the day. The questions she had for us indicated a level of care, experience and dedication that I hadn’t seen in meeting previous Rover sitters. Anyone who has a fur baby knows its not easy to leave them with someone. It can cause a lot of anxiety for us humans, as well as our little ones. We were so happy with the care and love Lauren provided to her. She sent us multiple updates a day with amazing photos, which put our minds at ease. We were also in a different time zone, and Lauren still ensured we were kept up to date. Our pup enjoyed her own vacation, meeting new dog friends for walks and Lauren let her sleep in the bed! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lauren to anyone looking for someone to care for their animals and can't praise her enough! I think they developed a sweet bond and we are so grateful. Thank you so much again, Lauren!

We went to New Zealand for 6 weeks. Alisa looked after Lucy and sent us photos. Alisa communicated often and sent us photo’s of Lucy relaxing in the house, playing with Haiko and going on walks. If I asked any questions, Alisa responded quickly. I knew that Lucy was well looked after, and because of Alisa’s care we were never worried and could enjoy our time away. I will only use Alisa and family in future to look after Lucy. I recommend Alisa highly.

We could tell Millie had a great time with McKenna! Millie can be indifferent at best and anxious at worst with new people, and McKenna, with her experience with reactive dogs, was patient and calm with her. Great communication and frequent updates too. We were so comfortable with McKenna looking after Millie that we rebooked her immediately before her current stay was over.

Kori and Lola took great care of Bleu while we were out of town for 4 days. Bleu bonded with them immediately and seemed to settle right in from the start. Kori provided frequent updates and photos showing Bleu enjoying great walks and hikes. We are so pleased we found Kori.

Callum was amazing with our dog. She boarded with him for a week over Christmas and she had the best time! He was patient with her when she on guard for the first few days and she didn't want to leave by the end of the week. We will definitely be using Callum for everything moving forward. Thank you Callum!!!

Millie had her first longer-term (3ish weeks) stay with Hazelle and we could tell it went really well! Hazelle is calm and patient and Millie had a comfortable and enjoyable stay with her. Really quick and good communication too, we had no worries while we were away for so long. Would definitely recommend Hazelle!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
