“My husky was so well taken care of by Kelsey and her family! She came back to me happy and tired 🥰 Kelsey was so good about sending pictures and updates too, which I loved. Will definitely be dropping aloo off again when I return to Victoria”

“Andrea was very responsive and took great care of our pup. Ou dog got lots of cuddles and was even allowed to sleep in her room despite being a snoring machine. I would certainly recommend her. Thanks Andrea and family!”

“Daisy and her family looked after our little rascal Toby and he had a wonderful time. He is still wandering around looking for Nina and Sonia! A lovely family home very amenable to dogs - Toby had lots of good walks, play time and cuddles. Perfect in every way 🐶”

“This was our second time booking with Bianca and it was another great experience. Our dog was well cared for, we got regular updates, and it was clear she was comfortable and happy. Highly recommend and will book again!”

“Kevin and Kayla are awesome! They are very accommodating with our dog Moose. They made sure she had everything she needed and also took extra attention to make her routine as similar to what she is used to at home. We will happily rebook with them in the future!”

“Alisa did me a huge favour by watching my dog, Mylo overnight so that my partner and I could attend our friend’s going away party. She provided excellent care for my dog, took him on nice walks, and sent very cute photos and text updates so I knew my pet was in good hands. I highly recommend Alisa to care for your dog if you are in search of pet care now or in the future.”

“Shravistha was incredibly responsive, kind, and flexible during a stressful moment in our trip to Victoria. As travelers with a dog, we suddenly found ourselves in a difficult situation late at night, and her quick communication and willingness to help gave us real peace of mind. Even though our plans changed afterward, we truly appreciated her understanding and support. Highly recommend!”

“My dog has been left with strangers during day and friends at night and seems to do fine. But strangers overnight was rough for him and gave him a nervous stomach. Marlisa was very gracious and helped him feel more settled. She also paid careful attention to his medical notes. Would highly recommend as someone that will care well for your pet.”

“Kaori was excellent with my dog. She was very communicative, sending me photos and videos, and made my dog feel comfortable and welcome. I will definitely use Kaori again in the future.”

“Michelle was absolutely wonderful with my high-energy working dog! She was communicative, send awesome pictures throughout the stay, and was just wonderful in general. Thank you Michelle!”

“Amazing! Highly recommended, was in a pinch for safe boarding for my Dane and after four days Hendrix came home and slinked upstairs to our bed to pass out for 5hrs. Will be making this our primary for additional care. Highly recommended!!”

“Ada and Nick took such great care of George! It was apparent they both were very attentive to George’s needs and are very warm people, which made me feel at ease! We will definitely be booking with them again! Thanks for treating our pup like your own!”

“Chris and Amy have looked after Naia twice now and have been very caring and attentive dog sitters. They kept in regular contact with us on how Naia was doing and sent us pictures and videos. Naia loves being outdoors and they were great to take her on long walks and have playtime in the backyard. We would definitely have Naia stay with them again and recommend them to our friends. Thank you Chris and Amy!”

About: I grew up with at minimum 4 dogs at all times, ranging from Border collies, to Shepard mixes, to Jack Russell and fox terriers. I learned from a young age the best way to train dogs specific to their breeds and personalities and I have lots of experience caring for pups from the day they were born into old age. I understand the importance of exercise, routine and play for our furry friends. I say I have 7 years of experience caring for pets, but really it is 30+ years at this point, the 7 years comes from a boom in friends getting dogs and the beginning of me taking care of their pets when they go on vacation, have family/medical emergencies etc. I live less than a block from a park that is off-leash-optional (the park has a cute communal dog toy box also) and I live in a quiet neighbourhood where I can stroll with your pup on-leash for exercise if that is preferred. I also carry my own pups to designated off leash areas where they can run forest trails with me, or just hike around. Depending on your pups needs and what you and I discuss, play/exercise time for your pup may involve all three. My home has a fenced in back yard which is great for toilet breaks and serves as a play area also, if your pup is so inclined :) I have two pups of my own, a Border Collie and a Wire Haired Griffon, both friendly gals, the Border Collie is becoming a senior gal and generally pays no attention to other dogs past an introductory sniff, the Griffon is 4 years old and loves to play if your pup is willing, if not, no issues, she is not forceful in anyway. I can say with confidence that your pups will be in safe hands, well taken care of and loved while I am looking after them. I work a flexible schedule from my home office. My doggy caring day typically starts with at least a 30 - 40 min neighbour hood walk before 8:00 am. Backyard toilet and exercise breaks around 10:00. 30 - 40 min neighbourhood/park lunch walk around noon. More toilet/stretch the legs breaks around 2:00. Off-leash Forest walk around 4:30/5:00 (Or on-leash depending on the pup, and if a forest walk doesn't suit, then more time in the beautiful neighbourhood often heading to a larger fenced in municipal park about 10 mins walk away) Obviously, meals are given as per your pups schedule and lots of treats throughout the day (unless you tell me not to) I have a fully fenced in back yard, with two friendly pups for company for your pup. The house itself is very dog friendly, pups are allowed onto the couch, but not the beds or other furniture. There are many dog beds in various rooms for pooches to sleep in as they wish. When walking/exercising your dog, I will only walk your dog on-leash in the neighborhood and in any area that is not well fenced in. If your dog is reactive, timid, has any health concerns we can discuss and I will be sure to adjust my routine around those needs. I will do exactly what you ask of me when it comes to feeding, play, keeping your pup on-leash, treats etc. Should the unlikely happen and I need to bring your dog to a vet unexpectedly, I will have your contact details, your vets contact details and I live within 5 mins drive of the emergency vet hospital. Your pup will be well looked after.
“Sandeep and his wife were lovely with our Boston Terrier, Henlee. They were respectful and accommodating for all my care guidelines which could be perceived as a little over the top for some, but important to me. He sent at least one update and picture/video each day which was really appreciated. They even bought him a new toy to take home which he loves. I’d definitely recommend Sandeep and will certainly book Henlee in with him next time we travel!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Bay
My wife and I recently left our Obi with Lucas for a long weekend. It was our first foray into the world of Rover and we were not disappointed. Lucas was extremely professional from start to finish. He clearly loves animals of all types and we wouldn't hesitate using his services again.

Stacey is our go-to sitter for our corgi Valkyrie. Val has been enough times that at the most recent drop-off, she didn't even look back at us when we left haha. She always has a really good time, and my spouse and I have peace of mind knowing our dog is getting great care from someone we trust.

We had a wonderful experience with Suzanne while we were away for 10 days. She sent us plenty of photos and updates, which gave us great peace of mind and let us follow along with all of our dog’s fun adventures. Our dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. We would happily book with her again!

We could tell Millie had a great time with McKenna! Millie can be indifferent at best and anxious at worst with new people, and McKenna, with her experience with reactive dogs, was patient and calm with her. Great communication and frequent updates too. We were so comfortable with McKenna looking after Millie that we rebooked her immediately before her current stay was over.

Kori and Lola took great care of Bleu while we were out of town for 4 days. Bleu bonded with them immediately and seemed to settle right in from the start. Kori provided frequent updates and photos showing Bleu enjoying great walks and hikes. We are so pleased we found Kori.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
