“Kelsey was fantastic and so accommodating. We brought Charlee over to meet her ahead of time. Her dog Franky is so sweet and a perfect companion for other dogs. Kelsey sent pictures and videos. Charlee looked so happy. We will definitely plan our next vacation around Kelsey's availability”

“Huxley had a great time at Andrea's. Andrea doesn't over treat which in Huxley's case very good. Daily walks morning, afternoon and evening. The pictured shoed Huxley resting and laid back. I know he was well looked after to him Andrea's home felt like home.”

“I needed a boarder last minute for a trip and I’m so happy Daisy took Mijo in, he had an awesome time! He went for walks and played his heart out. I can tell mijo was lovingly cared for while I was away and I would definitely board mijo again with Daisy. 10/10 would recommend.”

“Finding the right caretaker for my girl Rosie - who can be very shy and nervous around new places and spaces, and experience stress while we are apart. I wanted to ensure she would be with the best caretaker, and this was particularly important as I planned to be away for an extended period over the holidays. Thankfully, I came across Heather’s reviews and was able to connect with them before boarding Rosie. This provided me with a sense of relief and assurance to know she would be in a loving home. Rosie experienced an exceptional level of care and love and grew comfortable and content under Heather’s care. From daily walks and adventures to routine brushing, and homemade broth; Rosie was such a happy girl! Her sweet, loving, and active personality got to shine including her beautiful coat! Beyond grateful I had connected with Heather - I highly recommend her services. We will certainly be repeat customers.”

“It was my dog’s first stay away from home and we were both a bit nervous. Marlisa has a calm and gentle manner and a lovely older dog so my dog gradually settled in. I’m pleased with the care and attention she received from Marlisa.”

“Guinness really enjoyed his stay with Kevin and Kayla. He was comfortable with them from the first meet and greet, which made me feel confident in choosing them to care for him while I was away. Communication was great and made my booking super easy. I’ll definitely book again!”

“Bianca was great. Sent tons of updates while I was away, took a max out on a bunch of adventures with her other dogs and had he had a happy and healthy stay. Can’t ask for more. Would definitely book with Bianca again.”

“We boarded our shy rescue dog Russer with Kendall for two weeks, and she is the absolute best. We had sent Russer to do a trial sleepover with Kendall a couple weeks prior, which was very beneficial as it takes time for Russer to trust new people. Kendall was very patient with him and she was so proud of the progress he made each day. Kendall gave us the perfect amount of updates on Russer along with pictures/videos, and made sure to always follow our care instructions. It was easy to relax and enjoy our vacation knowing Russer was in good hands. Kendall’s love and passion for animals is clear in the care she provides. I highly recommend Kendall, and our future vacations will be planned around her availability.”

“Alisa was great! We felt out dog was very well cared for and looked like he had a great time, fron the photos that were shared. We recommend Alisa and she would be our first thought when needing someone to care for our dog in the future.”

“Lauren was super helpful with our anxious dog. She allowed us to visit prior to our vacation, to help get Roo more comfortable, and provided lots of updates during Roo's stay. We are very thankful to Lauren for looking after our pup so kindly. Roo can't wait for her next visit!”

“Great experience with Alex and Scarlett. They were very easy to communicate with and our pup was very well cared for. They sent lots of pictures and updates while we were out of town.”

“Stephanie was amazing with my dog, Olive! Her two dogs were so well-behaved and got along great with Olive. She kept me updated throughout the stay, sent me adorable pictures, and made me feel completely at ease. I could tell Olive was happy and well cared for. We will definitely be using Stephanie again in the future. Thank you so much!”

“Criofan took excellent care of Handsome! He had a lot of fun, and her well-trained delightful dog is H's new bestie. She was responsive, intuitive, and attentive, ensuring that H fit in, and that he remembered to eat! He came home from his adventure tired but happy. The dream! Thank you!”

“Shravistha was incredibly responsive, kind, and flexible during a stressful moment in our trip to Victoria. As travelers with a dog, we suddenly found ourselves in a difficult situation late at night, and her quick communication and willingness to help gave us real peace of mind. Even though our plans changed afterward, we truly appreciated her understanding and support. Highly recommend!”

“Our pup stayed with Chris and Amy for 5 days over Christmas while we were away visiting family and we couldn’t have imagined a more caring and sweet family for our dog to stay with. Thank you Chris and Amy from the bottom of ours hearts for having our pup and everything you did to make his stay so enjoyable and fun. We knew that he would be in the very best of hands with you and your loving family. Thank you for making his Christmas so special filled with love and care. ??❄️”

“This was my first time using Rover and I'm so thankful for this service. Sandeep is so lovely and accommodating. It is obvious he loves dogs. I left my dog Harlow with him for an overnight stay. My travel plans caused me to be late picking her up and Sandeep made it work. He sent me several updates and photos. I had no stress and knew my little buddy was in caring hands. When I picked her up, she wanted to be held by Sandeep until we left. I highly recommend Sandeep, but most importantly, so does Harlow.”

“Michelle was absolutely wonderful with my high-energy working dog! She was communicative, send awesome pictures throughout the stay, and was just wonderful in general. Thank you Michelle!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Oak Bay
We had a wonderful experience with Suzanne while we were away for 10 days. She sent us plenty of photos and updates, which gave us great peace of mind and let us follow along with all of our dog’s fun adventures. Our dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. We would happily book with her again!

Stacey was wonderful with our pups! She communicated well throughout the stay, sent regular updates and photos, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely be happy to trust her with our babes again and highly recommend her to other pet parents.

Lauren’s extensive experience with pet care (including experience working in a vet hospital) set my mind at ease when I needed to find a somewhat last minute sitter for my dog Ollie, who’s in his senior years and has a sensitive little system. She was amazing with Ollie and sent lots of updates and adorable photos during their time together. I would absolutely book with Lauren again!

Heather and her family were amazing with our maltipoo. Due to his recent neck injury, we were looking for someone who didn't have a pet in their home. We didn't want him to get into "rough play" with another furry peer. He had a great stay, and he got to go out and about with the family. We appreciated the photos that Heather sent and the specific details in her messages. We knew by what she said that she understood our little guy's temperament and personality. We feel our senior dog was truly loved and cared for, and we have made another booking with Heather for an upcoming trip. We found her to be flexible, and she was open to us dropping by before he boarded to meet with her and her family. This gave us a great sense of the home and Heather's philosophy of pet care.

Angela was super helpful and attentive even before I officially booked with her, which gave me a lot of confidence from the start. Both Angela and her partner were great with Rico, and he seemed to really enjoy his time with them too. I’d definitely recommend them and wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again!

We went to New Zealand for 6 weeks. Alisa looked after Lucy and sent us photos. Alisa communicated often and sent us photo’s of Lucy relaxing in the house, playing with Haiko and going on walks. If I asked any questions, Alisa responded quickly. I knew that Lucy was well looked after, and because of Alisa’s care we were never worried and could enjoy our time away. I will only use Alisa and family in future to look after Lucy. I recommend Alisa highly.

We could tell Millie had a great time with McKenna! Millie can be indifferent at best and anxious at worst with new people, and McKenna, with her experience with reactive dogs, was patient and calm with her. Great communication and frequent updates too. We were so comfortable with McKenna looking after Millie that we rebooked her immediately before her current stay was over.

Kori and Lola took great care of Bleu while we were out of town for 4 days. Bleu bonded with them immediately and seemed to settle right in from the start. Kori provided frequent updates and photos showing Bleu enjoying great walks and hikes. We are so pleased we found Kori.

Callum was amazing with our dog. She boarded with him for a week over Christmas and she had the best time! He was patient with her when she on guard for the first few days and she didn't want to leave by the end of the week. We will definitely be using Callum for everything moving forward. Thank you Callum!!!

Millie had her first longer-term (3ish weeks) stay with Hazelle and we could tell it went really well! Hazelle is calm and patient and Millie had a comfortable and enjoyable stay with her. Really quick and good communication too, we had no worries while we were away for so long. Would definitely recommend Hazelle!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
