“Carrie was amazing with our anxious, reactive, and highly energetic gal. We were really impressed with the level of care she provided including being able to give Ivy her medication and take her on lots of nice hikes! Thank you, Carrie! We didn’t have to worry about leaving Ivy behind in your hands!”

“Andrea and family were fantastic. Our dog Stu seemed to love being there as soon as he arrived and we had no concerns about leaving him. They took him on a big adventure walk to a beach and musts have given him a bath as he came back soft and smelling cleaner then ever. Would definitely send Stu back there if we need a petsitter again!”

“Kelsey was wonderful overall! She gave daily updates, took my dog on walks, and was very flexible and easy to work with and clearly someone who truly loves animals. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup. Highly recommend! I would absolutely book with her again.”

“Absolutely cannot recommend Criofan enough. Her and her partner made an amazing home away from home for our pup. He has a forever best friend with her sweet pup Albert and was so well taken care of. Perfect experience for us”

“Amelia and Thomas were great. They gave thorough updates with photos so we knew Zoey was doing well and in great hands. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.”

“Stine took great care of our Fergus, sending lots and lots of photos and updates and taking him on lots of hikes. He was so happy to be there for the 5 days we left him and got to play non-stop with her dog Brodie. Her and her husband Walt obvious took care of Fergus as if he was their own. They were also very accommodating when our flight got re-routed and we arrived a couple of hours late. We would definitely book again with Stine without hesitation”

“Kim and her family took such amazing care of Parker while we were away for a couple of days. From the moment he arrived, they treated him like one of their own. He was included in family activities, enjoyed lots of walks, attended the kids' soccer games, and was showered with attention, treats, and plenty of belly rubs. It was clear from the photos and updates Kim sent that Parker was happy, comfortable, and having a great time. Knowing he was being so well cared for gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We are incredibly grateful for the love and kindness shown to Parker and would highly recommend Kim and her family to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and welcoming home for their furry family member. Parker can't wait for his next visit!”

“Megan and her partner Joe were phenomenal, I cannot express enough how above and beyond they went in taking care of my dog. To start, my dog Callie is very anxious and needed someone who understood how to act/treat fearful dogs. She knew how to be around Callie right away. I was really scared leaving Callie, but they were so understanding and were not afraid of taking on a dog with anxiety as they had one themselves. They would constantly update me while I was away and followed all the instructions I gave them. Unfortunately, to no fault of their own, Callie got scared and bolted. When I say they did everything in their power to get her back, I mean it. They treated Callie like their dog - they rallied the entire community and resources to get her back. And they did. If I could give them more stars I would!”

“We were so appreciative of the great care Rachel and her family gave our girl Holly while we were out of town. She sent us lots of photos while Holly was there and that really helped my kids see that Holly was safe and having fun. We would absolutely love to book with Rachel again!”

“Finding the right caretaker for my girl Rosie - who can be very shy and nervous around new places and spaces, and experience stress while we are apart. I wanted to ensure she would be with the best caretaker, and this was particularly important as I planned to be away for an extended period over the holidays. Thankfully, I came across Heather’s reviews and was able to connect with them before boarding Rosie. This provided me with a sense of relief and assurance to know she would be in a loving home. Rosie experienced an exceptional level of care and love and grew comfortable and content under Heather’s care. From daily walks and adventures to routine brushing, and homemade broth; Rosie was such a happy girl! Her sweet, loving, and active personality got to shine including her beautiful coat! Beyond grateful I had connected with Heather - I highly recommend her services. We will certainly be repeat customers.”

“Michelle was absolutely wonderful with my high-energy working dog! She was communicative, send awesome pictures throughout the stay, and was just wonderful in general. Thank you Michelle!”

“Bella always enjoys her time Remi and Marie-Julie. They make sure that she is loved and well exercised. Whenever I leave Bella with them I can enjoy myself without any worries as to how Bella is doing as they send pictures. She always looks so happy in the pictures. Will definitely use them in the future to care for my fur baby!”

“Max had the absolute most best time with Chinel, Christian and there little boy Benny! I got so many amazing pictures of them out on walks and cuddles at home. 10/10 would recommend them watching your fur baby!”

“Daisy and family were great with Lucas! Daisy offered time for a meet and greet beforehand which was helpful. Lucas seemed to have a great time and he was cared for well. We’d happily recommend Daisy. Thanks for taking great care of Lucas!”

Alanna and her family took wonderful care of my Ellie. It was very hard for me to leave her with someone, but they made me feel completely at ease. Alanna was very accommodating with meet and greets and kept great communication while Ellie was with her, always sending photos and updates. She truly went above and beyond, and I’m so grateful.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
