About: Hello! My name is Emily and I am an animal lover living in beautiful Sooke. I've lived in Greater Victoria for most of my life and grew up with cats and dogs. I own two black cats, and live with four of them in total! While my experience is mostly with cats and dogs, I like (almost) all animals, except for arachnids. I am comfortable doing basic grooming (brushing, nail trims) on both cats and dogs as well as driving pets for appointments or adventures. I am available for walks, drop in visits, overnight care in your home, and more. Rates are flexible and I am also open to trades for goods or services. My schedule is currently fairly open. On Wednesdays I take my grandmother out to do her errands. I currently have three dogs in my walk rotation that I take out a couple days a week. Pets are one of my favourite parts of life. My cats are what get me out of bed most mornings, and not just because they are screaming for breakfast!

About: I’ve had cats my entire life and have always been passionate about understanding and caring for them. I’ve cared for friends’ and loved ones’ cats and dogs, as well as my cleaning clients’ pets, and genuinely love getting to spend time with animals. I’m especially attentive to feline body language and adjust my approach based on signs of anxiety, fear, overstimulation, or discomfort. My approach is gentle and cat led. I follow a consent based approach to interaction, allowing cats to decide when they’re ready for touch, and building trust at their pace. I’m also very detail oriented and genuinely appreciate thorough care instructions. I’m happy to provide photos and updates and will treat your home with the same care and respect I would my own. As a longtime entrepreneur first with a house cleaning business to now being in private practice as a counsellor, I’m responsible, dependable, and have a flexible schedule. I’d love the opportunity to spend more time with cats and provide them with thoughtful, individualized care while their pet parents are away. I currently work in private practice as a counsellor, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to build pet care naturally into my week. I’m able to plan my schedule around the needs of the pets I’m caring for and enjoy having the opportunity to spend time with them throughout the day. I’m comfortable working with individual care routines and am happy to discuss specific timing, visit frequency, and care needs with each pet parent. My goal is to make pet care a consistent and enjoyable part of my routine while ensuring each cat or dog receives the attention and care they’re used to. I like to make drop in visits feel like more than just checking the essentials. I’ll greet your pet first, take care of their food, medication and litter, then spend time playing, grooming, and giving them the attention they enjoy. I love learning each animal's favourite toys, quirks, and routines, and I’m happy to stay a little longer for extra companionship when needed. I’ll also make sure their environment is comfortable before I leave, whether that means making a cozy spot, putting on some Cat TV with a sleep timer, or taking care of plants and fish if requested. My goal is for you to come home feeling that your pets were cared for with the same thoughtfulness you would have given them yourself.

About: I have been looking after dogs (and many other animals including cats and horses) for 15+ years as favours to friends and family, so I have a massive love for all furry creatures! I have grown up with dogs and can detect body language changes, and know how to defuse situations if they do escalate. I have worked with dogs who are other-dog reactive, and know how to cater our walks to suit their needs without additional stress. Whether you are looking to have you pup join Atlas and I at our enclosed acreage, or would like me to simply drop in to visit and break up your pup's day with a play in the yard, I'm happy to do it all. Currently on a very open schedule due to the nature of casual work, and am looking to continue building up my experience here on Rover! :) I am a casually employed person, so have multiple weeks of time off in which I can dedicate to pet-sitting! Whether you're looking for just a few days, or something more extended, I can accommodate both needs. I have a fully enclosed rural acreage with automatic button-controlled gates, and reinforced wiring along the bottom two panels of fencing. We live on a quiet street with a few school children that commute in the morning/afternoon, but otherwise, not very busy. A lovely, safe, interesting space for them to explore and enjoy.

About: I have not owned a cat in many years but always enjoy their company. Even the most unsocial cats seek out affection and attention for me. I have been involved with farming and farm sitting since I was a child. I work a couple of part time jobs in healthcare. My schedule for meeting with clients is flexible and can easily be worked around pet care commitments. I have walking trails and a fenced dog park in my neighbourhood. I have a spacious home and areas of my home can be closed off in order to assure a safe environment when I am not able to be around to observe the pets in my care directly.

About: I have always wanted to look after animals since I was a kid. My husband and I fostered rescue dogs in Alberta to help get adopted. I have also cared for a variety of small caged animals over the years. As your house sitter, I will be present in your home for the entire duration of the stay. This is great if your pup does not like to be left alone. I am able to administer simple medications if needed. I am also able to care for small caged animals in my own home and we can discuss this arrangement if you are needing this service. House/pet sitting is my priority. When you hire me, I will not need to leave your residence for other employment. This is great if your pup does not like to be left alone. I will care for your pets following the daily routine that you have already established for them. If the pets are used to a morning walk then I will take them on a morning walk if that is preferred. If your pets are happy to simply play in their yard while you are away I would be happy to do that as well. I usually like to arrange a short meet and greet prior to the first overnight stay to familiarize myself with your pets and their home.

About: I am a young professional who loves the outdoors. I spend most of my time being very active outside. I enjoy hiking, running or long walks on the beach in all types of weather! I have always loved dogs and have spent many years being around them and caring for them. Growing up, I had dogs, cats, turtles, hamsters and guinea pigs, mice, frogs etc. I often volunteer to take friend's and familie's dogs for walks in my spare time or pet sit over longer periods of time. I genuinely enjoy the company and energy that dogs bring. I have a life long ambition to care for animals who have been neglected or poorly treated. Apart from being active, I also enjoy downtime/ snuggle time with older/less energetic animals. I have a gentle touch and a lot of love to share for 4 legged friends, no matter the size or temperament! I have a large property (a dogs paradise!) but I am also happy to go on as many or as little dog walks/fetch dates as needed for whatever length is best suited for your dog. I have lots of experience with anxious animals or unsocialized pets so therefore I am confident I can keep your fur baby safe.
