About: I have always wanted to look after animals since I was a kid. My husband and I fostered rescue dogs in Alberta to help get adopted. I have also cared for a variety of small caged animals over the years. As your house sitter, I will be present in your home for the entire duration of the stay. This is great if your pup does not like to be left alone. I am able to administer simple medications if needed. I am also able to care for small caged animals in my own home and we can discuss this arrangement if you are needing this service. House/pet sitting is my priority. When you hire me, I will not need to leave your residence for other employment. This is great if your pup does not like to be left alone. I will care for your pets following the daily routine that you have already established for them. If the pets are used to a morning walk then I will take them on a morning walk if that is preferred. If your pets are happy to simply play in their yard while you are away I would be happy to do that as well. I usually like to arrange a short meet and greet prior to the first overnight stay to familiarize myself with your pets and their home.

About: My experience over the years with dogs has been with a variety of different breeds, ages and behaviors. I volunteered fostering dogs at the Victoria Humane Society 2 yrs ago (2022) where I gained a lot of experience with different temperaments and ages/mixed breeds. When they were adopted, it broke my heart so I adopted a beagle, Copper, in 2023. The highlight of my experience was working for Island Miniature Schnauzers outside of Sooke in 2016 for 8 months. My duties were: Home Life training for adopted puppies. This provided the new owners one week of me training the puppy at my home. This included walking on leash for the first time, crate training, schedule for house training, socializing with other dogs and people to name a few.. I provided video and pictures to the new owners to keep them up to date on progress. I also took older Shnauzers who were used to farm life and adapted them to urban life by going on leashed walks, greeting new dogs and people. I also learned to groom puppies and older dogs as well. You can see in all my photo's with the Schnauzer puppies and dogs that I trained while working for IMS. Over the years I have taken care of friends/family dogs and cats at their home. I treat all animals like my very own. I massage them, comfort them them and just love them up! I have a nice sized fenced in backyard for play. There are many trails, beaches and lakes that we go on each day. I'd like to meet first to see if Copper and I are a good fit for you and your fur baby. Please see my IG account for most of the dogs in my care starting in 2016. (copper_the_beagle_trofimuk) Depending on your dogs level of care, adjusting the cost is a flexibility I offer. We walk once or 2x a day and I have a nice sized backyard. Games and training time are incorporated into our day. I aim to make it as balanced and fun as possible. I offer 2 walks a day. There are many places to walk close to my house & the galloping goose trail is behind my gate. My backyard is a good size for wrestling, running and playing. I am currently revamping my yard to make it more dog friendly. Naps and downtime are a must for a happy healthy dog. The dogs sleep with me unless they need to be in a crate.

About: Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve cared for and raised animals of all kinds, from puppies and rescue dogs to farm animals and small pets. My own rescue dog, Indigo, taught me so much about patience, compassion, and attentive care as I supported her through both IVDD and cancer. Through that experience, I became very comfortable with medication routines, mobility support, changing needs, and providing calm, loving care through every stage of an animal’s life. I’ve also raised puppies and lived on a farm where I regularly cared for large farm dogs and cats. About: I’ve been around dogs and cats my whole life. I grew up with 3 indoor cats and caring for my grandparents German Shepherds. I fostered many dogs and cats with my roommates in University, and worked at a Veterinary Hospital for 2+ years. I’ve rescued a senior dog from the SPCA (who since passed) and now have a 3.5yr Rottweiler. My schedule is extremely flexible and I can make myself available at anytime needed to provide care for your pets. A typical day with my dog consists morning potty, breakfast, long walk, indoor mental play time, supper, outside potty and more play time. It’s not uncommon to go for off-leash walks in a park. Another activity we enjoy is mental enrichment - either a mind game with treats or frozen kong. I have a condo in Westhills. There are many parks and trails nearby.
