“Laura was fabulous! Our kitties were very well cared for and we received lots of pics and daily updates on them. Thank you Laura, we’ll definitely be in touch for our next trip ???”

“Carrie came through for me when I was in a pinch (my other sitter failed to show up), and accepted the booking very last minute. She was an absolute dream, and all three of my cats warmed up to her (even the shy one!) Her communication was exceptional and open (lots of pictures!), she immediately put my mind at ease when I was away from home and worried about my fur babies, and she went above and beyond to ensure my cats were well cared for and loved. I can't recommend her enough!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was young. I’ve always loved pets and have raised a couple puppies as well. I will be your pets new best friend! Im currently working part time so I will have lots of time to check in on your pets. I’m available most days in the morning and evening. I would prefer to watch your pets in your own home where your pets are most comfortable. I will be respectful towards your pet and your home equally.
“Kurtis is excellent! Mikey is an elder old man Sheltie and Kurtis is so patient and good with him! He also went above and beyond cleaning up dishes, spending extra time with Mikey and ensuring he was comfortable.”

“Emily was amazing! I felt super confident knowing she was coming to check in on my kitty. I got lots of photos and updates, and always got a reply within the hour. Will def be booking with her again and highly recommend!”

About: I have always wanted to look after animals since I was a kid. My husband and I fostered rescue dogs in Alberta to help get adopted. I have also cared for a variety of small caged animals over the years. As your house sitter, I will be present in your home for the entire duration of the stay. This is great if your pup does not like to be left alone. I am able to administer simple medications if needed. I am also able to care for small caged animals in my own home and we can discuss this arrangement if you are needing this service. House/pet sitting is my priority. When you hire me, I will not need to leave your residence for other employment. This is great if your pup does not like to be left alone. I will care for your pets following the daily routine that you have already established for them. If the pets are used to a morning walk then I will take them on a morning walk if that is preferred. If your pets are happy to simply play in their yard while you are away I would be happy to do that as well. I usually like to arrange a short meet and greet prior to the first overnight stay to familiarize myself with your pets and their home.
About: I am a young professional who loves the outdoors. I spend most of my time being very active outside. I enjoy hiking, running or long walks on the beach in all types of weather! I have always loved dogs and have spent many years being around them and caring for them. Growing up, I had dogs, cats, turtles, hamsters and guinea pigs, mice, frogs etc. I often volunteer to take friend's and familie's dogs for walks in my spare time or pet sit over longer periods of time. I genuinely enjoy the company and energy that dogs bring. I have a life long ambition to care for animals who have been neglected or poorly treated. Apart from being active, I also enjoy downtime/ snuggle time with older/less energetic animals. I have a gentle touch and a lot of love to share for 4 legged friends, no matter the size or temperament! I am currently taking the Summer off so my schedule is wide open for all your furry friend's needs! Please feel free to reach out regarding any availability questions/concerns. I have a large property (a dogs paradise!) but I am also happy to go on as many or as little dog walks/fetch dates as needed for whatever length is best suited for your dog. I have lots of experience with anxious animals or unsocialized pets so therefore I am confident I can keep your fur baby safe.
About: I have had animals both cats and dogs my entire life. I am able to do some manners and follow normal sit stay heel guidelines and medicate. I have experience with subcutaneous injections as well( insulin and vitamins). I will love your animals as my own. I work afternoons between 4-8 and weekends 1-8. I will have plenty of time to spend with them walking playing and feeding ensuring they have been taken care of. They will be walked, played with and cuddled. I will follow your directions and am able to medicate and follow complex care plans. I have had both large and small dogs. In addition I have had reactive dogs so can understand and manage there needs safely.
About: I grew up with dogs and have always been a huge animal lover. I’ve also pet sat many times over the years, so I’m comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities, routines, and energy levels. I love getting to know each dog individually and figuring out what makes them happiest, whether that’s long walks and playtime, lots of attention, or just having someone around to keep them company. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, cleaning up messes, following specific routines, and giving lots of love and attention. I know how important it is to trust the person looking after your pet, so I’ll treat your dog like they’re my own and keep you updated while you’re away. 🐾 I’m currently a nursing student and don’t work outside of school, so I have lots of flexibility for pet care! I’m in class Monday through Friday from about 1:00–5:30 PM, but I’m available before and after school for walks, feeding, drop-ins, playtime, and lots of attention. My evenings and weekends are also flexible, and I’m happy to work around your pet’s usual routine as much as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my priority. I’m a nursing student and also have basic animal first-aid knowledge, so safety and paying attention to changes in behaviour or wellbeing come naturally to me. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medications, routines, and any special needs or boundaries. I’m respectful of your home, careful with doors, gates and leashes, and I always pay attention to an animal’s body language. I’ll never force interaction and will give your pet the time, space, and attention they need to feel safe and comfortable with me.
“So I was very hesitant to get my fur pup a sitter. I have never left him alone especially in the hands of stranger in a strange place. But I never been so delighted to get Etienne. He was amazing with my baby. He knew this was a first for me and I was so nervous about leaving him. He sent me many updates and plenty of photos. I was so happy to see Finn having fun especially with other dogs and I was so thrilled with his service I booked him again for another night that week. I and the staff Pacific Sand Resort highly recommend Etienne for you next dog sitting needs. You and you fur baby will not regret it!”

About: Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve cared for and raised animals of all kinds, from puppies and rescue dogs to farm animals and small pets. My own rescue dog, Indigo, taught me so much about patience, compassion, and attentive care as I supported her through both IVDD and cancer. Through that experience, I became very comfortable with medication routines, mobility support, changing needs, and providing calm, loving care through every stage of an animal’s life. I’ve also raised puppies and lived on a farm where I regularly cared for large farm dogs and cats. Over the years, I’ve had experience caring for many different animals, including parrots, snakes, hamsters, fish, rabbits, and other small pets. I genuinely love getting to know each animal’s unique personality and needs, and I always strive to make them feel safe, understood, and cared for while their owners are away. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets lots of attention, consistency, and care throughout the day. I’m also a very active person and usually spend hours outside walking every day, so I’d genuinely love some furry companionship along the way - whether your dog prefers long adventures, slower sniff walks, or lots of playtime and attention. I live in a detached home with a fully fenced backyard and no other animals in the home, creating a calm and safe environment for your pet. I take animal care very seriously and have always treated every pet - whether my own or someone else’s - with patience, attentiveness, and genuine love. I cared for my sweet dog Indigo through both IVDD and cancer, which gave me firsthand experience supporting animals with medical needs, mobility limitations, medication routines, and changing comfort levels. That experience taught me that every animal is unique, and I’m happy to adapt to their individual routines, personalities, and care needs to help them feel safe and comfortable.
About: * A little note and update. Unfortunately my mom passed away last year and I have moved to Langford BC for a new beginning. So to any previous clients from Burlington that I haven’t spoken to before my move - I’m unfortunately no longer living there. It was a pleasure to work with you ! Everything else below holds true. Please read my profile carefully before booking to make sure I’m a good fit for your dog. I have over 18 years experience caring for animals. I’m an intuitive energy ( Reiki Master ) healer which allows me to connect and understand your dog’s needs at a deeper level. If your dog is nervous or afraid of new people and/ or surroundings, i’m able to calm them with a little energy treatment. I also have many years of teaching and practicing first aid under my belt, as well as 11years of caring for my first dog Charlie. Over all, I have a tremendous love and understanding of animals, which I believe makes me a great choice for caring for your beloved fur babies. I know how incredibly precious they are to you, and will ensure they are loved and cared for as if they were my own. I am writing a film, doing pack walks and running my energy healing business from home - which allows me a flexible schedule to give your animals the care they need. For overnight / daycare : we live in a coach house in Langford BC - a close drive to Royal Oak Beach. It’s such a beautiful, safe neighbourhood to explore and go for walks. Sooke Hills Wilderness Park is just 3mins away. Note there is a set of stairs leading up to my living space so for those dogs that can’t do stairs I might not be a good fit. I am available to sit at your home though if it’s easier. I’m currently working from home writing my film. My schedule is flexible, so I have plenty of time for play and walks. Your pet is always my first priority though and I will customize my days around their schedule and care. Dogs are always leashed and well cared for when out for walks. I don’t have a yard or anywhere they can escape from. Their safety will always be my first priority.
About: As an interior designer, I spend my days creating spaces that feel calm, comfortable, and welcoming, and I’ve always taken the same thoughtful approach with the animals I spend time with. I’ve loved animals my whole life, and spending time with them has always brought me a genuine sense of happiness. Over the years, I’ve volunteered at animal shelters and veterinary clinics, as well as cared for dogs and cats for family, friends, and through referrals. I love getting outside for walks and hikes, and there’s nothing better than having a four-legged companion along for the adventure. Whether your dog loves to explore or prefers a slower pace, I’ll take the time to get to know their personality and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after while you’re away. I have experience caring for pets of all ages, from playful puppies and kittens to senior pets who may need a little extra patience and attention. I own my own interior design business and primarily work from home, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the pets in my care. I treat every home and every pet with the same care and respect I would my own. I’ll follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible, meeting their needs and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well looked after until you’re home again.
About: I have been caring for animals in general since I was 10 years old. I love petting them and taking care of them. I also love teaching them different ways to respond to calls and, above all, taking care of them as if they were another member of the family. I’m working Monday to Friday 7-4PM, so I’d be available after this day time during week & full weekend. Most of the time we will be chillin’ o just hiking/walking around. 🌳🐕🦺 I’d do both if necessary. I’d rather to have them in their own space for avoiding stressful situations ofc. I’m currently living in Langford 📍BC

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Sooke stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sooke choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
