I have owned small animals (rats and hamsters) in the past and am comfortable with daily care routines including feeding, cage cleaning, enrichment, and health monitoring. While Rover does not list small animals as a separate service category, I’m happy to discuss drop-in visits for small pets with owners to see if I’m a good fit. I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available for daytime, evening, and weekend drop-in visits. I can accommodate pets who need mid-day check-ins, consistent routines, or extra attention :) I update my Rover calendar regularly and am happy to discuss scheduling needs in advance. I follow your instructions closely and stick to your pet’s routine. I make sure doors and windows are secure, food and water are fresh, litter boxes or habitats are clean, and the environment is safe before and after each visit. I always double-check locks when entering and leaving. With cats, I respect their boundaries and take time to observe behaviour, appetite, and litter box habits. I provide playtime or quiet companionship depending on the cat’s personality and keep stress to a minimum by maintaining their normal routine. For dogs, I make sure leashes, collars, and harnesses are properly fitted before walks, avoid unsafe areas, and never allow off-leash time unless explicitly approved by the owner. I monitor energy levels and weather conditions to keep walks safe and comfortable. For small animals (such as rats, hamsters, or chinchillas), I focus on proper feeding, clean habitats, gentle handling when appropriate, and checking that enclosures are secure. I offer playtime if approved by you. I keep owners updated with messages and photos after each visit and will contact them immediately if I notice anything unusual. About: I have had animals my entire life and have been extremely involved in training and ensuring they get the best care possible! I have done a lot of dog training in reactivity, separation anxiety, and use positive reinforcement to ensure that the relationship between me and my pet(s) is built on love and trust. With every new pet, I let them approach me and I build a foundation of trust so that obedience is not something forced but given! I work part time but I have blocked out those days so that it won’t interfere, but other wise I work 7 hour shifts so if your pet is staying when I am working, they would have to be comfortable being home alone for those hours I care for my pets by using positive reinforcement and consistency. Consistency is key and is very beneficial for ensuring my pets can succeed in all aspects of their lives. I understand dog body language and know when to approach, let them be, or let them come to me. It’s about listening to boundaries, just like with us humans!

About: I have 15 years caring for my own dogs, 10 years working in a pet store, and hands-on experience with agility puppy training. I’m confident handling high-energy breeds, enrichment, routines, and safety-focused care. I’ve previously had an Icelandic sheepdog and border collie mix, each with their own special needs such as extreme allergies, behavioural triggers and high prey drive. About: Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve cared for and raised animals of all kinds, from puppies and rescue dogs to farm animals and small pets. My own rescue dog, Indigo, taught me so much about patience, compassion, and attentive care as I supported her through both IVDD and cancer. Through that experience, I became very comfortable with medication routines, mobility support, changing needs, and providing calm, loving care through every stage of an animal’s life. I’ve also raised puppies and lived on a farm where I regularly cared for large farm dogs and cats. Over the years, I’ve had experience caring for many different animals, including parrots, snakes, hamsters, fish, rabbits, and other small pets. I genuinely love getting to know each animal’s unique personality and needs, and I always strive to make them feel safe, understood, and cared for while their owners are away. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets lots of attention, consistency, and care throughout the day. I’m also a very active person and usually spend hours outside walking every day, so I’d genuinely love some furry companionship along the way - whether your dog prefers long adventures, slower sniff walks, or lots of playtime and attention. I live in a detached home with a fully fenced backyard and no other animals in the home, creating a calm and safe environment for your pet.
