Shelley is wonderful! Easy communication and you can tell how kind she is on first meeting. She was prompt for her drop in visits and we came home after a four day weekend to a very content kitty. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Shelley and will definitely book with her again. Thank you so much, Shelley!!

This was our first time using Rover. Connecting with Carys to provide care for our two cats was a great experience for us. We found her to be very communicative, kind and punctual. We really appreciated the pictures and updates that she sent us to let us know how things were going. We would highly recommend Carys for anybody looking for care for their animals.

About: Hey cute dogs and responsible dog owners! I am a german dog trainer and I miss working with dogs so much! Since I am here in Canada, I work part-time from home and unfortunately I am not allowed to have an own dog, where I live. For the past 8 years I worked with more than 45 dogs and I fostered more than 30 dogs in my own home in Germany (mostly rescues). I used to worked with three german animal protection associations as well. My specialties are: - leash pulling issues - creating a better bond and relationship between dog and owner - behavior in general - issues at home I can´t wait to meet you and your dog! I work part-time in my own business at home, so I am able to organize my own times, when I work. But ideal is after 11:30 am. I know, how to read dogs. I work with dogs all my life, even as a kid, I worked with dogs at german dog parks. I was the youngest trainer in my town, who ever worked with dogs. And mostly, I often like dogs better than humans - to be honest. Dogs are just amazing. I will always take care about the safety of the animal, that - for me - is job one. Also I won´t give anything to the pet (treats, toys), that I haven´t talked through with the owner beforehand.

Helen is amazing! She really helped us out with pet-sitting our cat when in a tight spot and on short notice. I definitely felt confident Koi was in good hands while we were gone. I almost think Koi was a little disappointed when we returned home, hoping we were Helen instead 😅 thanks so much again!

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and just rescued my own about a year and a half ago. He is my world:). I know how stressful it can be to leave your animal with someone so I understand how hard it can be! I take my dog daily to dog parks, open fields, and on the occasional walk, so spending time with dogs is already a big part of my everyday life! I recently graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a double major in Psychology and Criminology and have moved back home to Brentwood Bay, BC after playing NCAA Division I hockey in Minnesota for the past several years. While living in Duluth, I rescued my dog Loki from a local humane society, and he quickly became one of the best parts of my life. That experience only strengthened my love for animals and the importance I place on providing them with a safe, happy, and active environment. Now that I'm back home, I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability during both weekdays and weekends, allowing me to provide the attention, care, and exercise your dog deserves. I would love the opportunity to care for your dog as if they were my own! Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. In my home, pets are treated like family and are always supervised when outside. I have a fairly large, fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely run and play, and I also live just down the road from a large elementary school field that is perfect for walks, exercise, and playtime. My family also has a white Boxer, so there are already two dog-friendly dogs in the home who are used to being around other pets. I follow each owner's instructions closely regarding feeding, medications, routines, and any special needs to help pets feel comfortable and maintain consistency. Whether I am caring for your pet in my home or yours, I will provide plenty of attention, exercise, affection, and regular updates so you can feel confident that they are in good hands.

About: Hello! Canada is my 37nd country:) Although I am an engineer, currently I am giving online English lessons. p.s. I don`t have a car. Your furry kid will receive lots of bum pats while he/she is with me:) Please communicate if your furry child/ren have any medical conditions (vomiting every day etc.) before I accept your invitation. Make sure they are vaccinated on time and be given flea pills etc. Boarding/Housesitting: I have lived alone for many years so I am not bad at house chores and I am a tidy person. I had some plants at home (avocado, qumquat, calonche, cactuses etc.) Also, I have experiences on couchsurfing/airbnb/workaway and have many references there (~30 references/reviews in total). I can share my profile links with you if you wish. You can check my profile for further details:) Please leave a clean and tidy house for me with clean bedding. I do not expect hotel-like cleaning and I understand that there are cultural differences in terms of hygiene but I really don`t like breathing dust or seeing spider nets above my bed or stains in my bed/urine on the toilet etc. For me to leave your home clean before I leave, make sure that you leave cleaning products/cloths/paper towels/cloths etc., please. Also, please let me know if there is no hot water/no heating/unusual stairs/ladders that I have to use at your home. Warm wishes & looking forward to meeting you soon, Aylin I am currently unemployed and flexible. The only thing is that I don't have a car and cannot travel long distances to look after your pets. I have references in another volunteer pet sitting application. I can share the details with you if you like. I am not allowed to have a pet at my home but I can visit your home. You can talk to my previous pet parents to confirm my reliability.

About: Hi! I’m Makenna. I’m spending the summer in Brentwood Bay after finishing my first year in the Veterinary Technology program at Thompson Rivers University. I love working with animals and have experience from both a doggy daycare and the veterinary field. I also have my Dog First Aid certification. I have a rescue dog named Renfrew, so I know every dog is different and has their own personality and needs. Whether your pup loves to play, go for walks, or just relax and get cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable and well cared for while you’re away. I’d love to get to know your dog and provide them with a safe, fun, and loving environment. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions! Since I'm not working right now, I can easily fit pet care into my daily and weekly routine. I have plenty of time to make sure pets get all the attention, exercise, and care they need. My day usually includes feeding, playtime, and walks with my dog Renfrew. I also set aside time for grooming and any necessary medical care. This way, I can provide consistent and high-quality care for pets every day of the week. I ensure pets are safe by creating a secure environment and providing regular supervision, proper nutrition, and lots of love. My experience working at dog daycares and in the veterinary field has equipped me with the knowledge and skills needed to offer exceptional care. I have ample space for regular walks, ensuring that pets get the exercise and attention they need to stay happy and healthy.

About: My place has been a revolving door of visiting pets of friends and family for the past 6 years. I live with my wife and cocker spaniel, Vincent, and we keep him active with walks play which he loves to have other dogs join I am currently completing a degree in kinesiology at camosun college, which keeps me busy but also has plenty of time at home for pet care. I can easily be available for visits and visitors I like to take my dog out for walks around the property several times a day. There is a nice field far from roads that I allow him off leash to run, play and chase smells. There is a large dog park which is about a 10 minute drive away and a mountain hike that is 5 minutes to walk to (about an hour to complete the hike and get home). We play with his toys inside and Vincent is always happy to play with visitors and other dogs at the park.

About: Three years working at the BC SPCA has given me the best education I could have asked for when approaching anxious and reactive dogs with fear-free methods. From undersocialized puppies to dog-reactive Great Pyrenees, there is likely not much I haven't seen. I am also passionate about assisting dogs with high medical needs. I am trained in Animal Kind and Fear Free methods and approach every dog with patience and empathy. I have a flexible work schedule to meet your dogs needs. I am located in Central Saanich and can offer my services on the Saanich peninsula and the greater Victoria area. When on walks, I will always have two points of contact with your dog to minimize any chance of equipment failure. If your dog is being walked on my farm, I will use long leads to ensure it will always stay within my reach while having the freedom to run, sniff, and roam. I love high levels of communication and can provide pick-up, check-in, walk, and drop-off updates as you like. I will use dog-friendly seatbelts when transporting in my climate controlled SUV.

FAQs for Drop-In Visits - North Saanich

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Sitting in North Saanich on Rover is $22.2 per visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 853 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in North Saanich. About 85% of North Saanich sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a North Saanich stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Saanich choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
