“Criofan was great, we were travelling from Edmonton and decided to do a last minute Whale Watching Tour. Within 5 minutes Criofan responded and we had Luna booked in to play for the day. We really appreciated the late night pick up at 10pm, was flexible for us to enjoy our time in Victoria without feeling rushed. The drive was only 20 mins, but was definitely worth the drive, huge space for Luna to run with Albert. Really appreciated the messages after dropping Luna off, put my mind at ease that she was behaving. Highly recommend, we got back a happy tired pooch!”

“Jonathan has become a real staple sitter for us! My dog Luna has an absolute blast and the level of care is great. She gets lots of walks, cuddles and play time with their lovely dog Indy. Jonathan is very communicative and I always look forward to the photo updates. Would definitely recommend as a sitter.”

“I felt very lucky to find a sitter that would take my pup and Tannis (and her patient family) spent quality time with my girl. Her location was perfect for me, I picked up a very happy puppy, and I could not feel more confident leaving my sweet girl in her care. Thank you Tannis!”

“Andrea has been so patient with our new puppy, she treats her as if she was a part of the family. I have no doubt Nyx is already looking forward to her next visit!”

“I can’t say enough about how great Rachel is. I highly recommend her. My dog Kai loved spending time with with her and be a farm dog for two days. If you need a dog daycare please use Rachel, she’s fabulous”

“Tippy loved his stay with Heather. He's an active puppy and she was so good and patient with him. We appreciated the updates and pictures showing Tippy looking completely contented in her beautiful home and we felt very comfortable leaving him in her care. Thanks Heather and we will definitely be using your services again.”

“really happy with the care my pups recieved. both are young and full of energy but came home tired amd happy. my youngest has seperation anxiety and always howls and cries when i return but she was pretty calm this time. i recieved pictures and grace even paid enough attention to notice harlow was a bit dehydrated and let me know. they were also able to book me in fairly last minute which i was greatful for. if i ever need a sitter in victoria again i will be contacting these folks first. :)”

“If I had a 100 stars I would have given those to Bianca. Champ had a great time and Bianca was gracious enough to take his request last minute due to a medical emergency. Thanks so much for everything”

About: I have had cats or dogs my whole life. I’d love to make your travel easier by caring for your beloved fur babies while you are away from home. I work from home and can rearrange my schedule during the day to stop in and take your pets out for potty breaks or a quick walk or cuddles. I don’t currently have pets in my home, so if your pets overnight here, they will have my full attention. I live in Sidney very close to walking paths and parks for walks and playtime.
“Our 2 year-old dog stayed with Danielle while we visited family and we knew she was in great hands. Danielle has a great fenced area for them to run and play and she is clearly very experienced with dogs and we will readily look her up again if we need sitting in the area again in the future.”

About: I have lifelong experience with pets, and somehow they always end up choosing me as their “favorite” person in the house. I genuinely understand their personalities and form deep connections with them. I can safely administer medication, give endless belly rubs to dogs, and I know all the classic favorite spots that make cats purr. I currently work full time from home and have a flexible schedule and a Friday off every two weeks and weekends are usually available as well. I live in a pet friendly condo with a fenced dog run area and easy access to Portage Park (pet friendly park). We own two very friendly pets, a dog and cat. Our dog has diabetes so we already do many potty breaks with him a day and administer insulin shots twice a day plus a mix of home made and prescribed food as well.
“Chris and Amy were great with Leo he seemed happy and exhausted when he came home. They were good at communication, sent lots of photos and asked good questions. They were very tolerant of our high energy puppy! Thanks!”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and currently care for 4 cats and a dog of my own, so I understand the daily needs, routines, and personalities of different pets. I genuinely love animals and treat every pet like family. I’m experienced with feeding, walking, playtime, and giving pets the attention and care they deserve, whether they’re energetic or more relaxed. I also offer boarding in a safe, comfortable, and pet-friendly home where your pets will get plenty of attention and care while you’re away. I work part time for myself from home, so I’m able to give pets lots of attention throughout the day. My flexible schedule allows me to stay on top of feeding times, walks, playtime, and check-ins, making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I have 5 acres of space for dogs to explore and play, along with a fenced play area for safe outdoor time. I also have a friendly 2 year old lab to keep your dog company. I’m able to crate dogs if needed, depending on their routine, to make sure they feel safe and comfortable while in my care.
“Bee was absolutely great with Takaya! He and Vec had the run of the yard, were well-matched in energy levels, and Bee sent me lots of cute pics and videos of them playing and adoring each other.”

“Jena was great to work with. She arranged a meet up the weekend before I left Piper for the day which was comforting and made for an easy transition on my first day back to the office. Her doggies are super cute as well and Piper had a great time! We will definitely use Jena again in the future to watch our little monkey:)”

About: I currently have a Sphynx (high maintenance cat breed with very specific needs) so I’m comfortable with tailored routines, diet restrictions, and reading an animal’s particular quirks.. I also grew up with dogs (multiple Border Collies) so I know the energy and exercise they need too. Whether your pet wants constant attention, space, or a specific routine, I adjust to what actually works for them :) I am currently working part time, so I have free time in my week and would love to drop in and take care of your animal(s). Typically I work Thursday-Saturday or Sunday, but am happy to accommodate as best I can if you need support during those days. In your home, I stick closely to their feeding schedule, walks, and any specific instructions, staying attentive to their comfort in their own environment throughout each visit. *I have a cat in my home, (2 bd duplex house). I am happy to have your pet stay in my home if they’re patient/friendly towards cats and my cat gets along with them -would need to discuss/meet & greet prior to me hosting*
“Kristine was so accommodating… on a last minute booking. She welcomed Ruby with lots of love and enthusiasm. She sent us photos and updates which we we loved. Ruby was well cared for.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - North Saanich
We were in Victoria on short notice and needed someone to look after our dog, Balu, after our plans changed unexpectedly. From the moment we reached out, you were incredibly accommodating and made the whole process completely stress-free. It was clear that Balu was well cared for, and we really appreciated the updates and the genuine attention you gave him throughout the day. Knowing he was in such good hands allowed us to enjoy our plans without worrying. Thank you for being so kind, reliable, and flexible, especially with a last-minute booking. We truly appreciate everything you did for Balu and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter. We’d happily book with you again if we’re ever back in Victoria!

Sasha had a great day with Heather and Ivan. Not only did they make their home welcoming to her, they also made sure she got out for some exercise and fun! It’s much easier to walk away when you pooch walks straight into their home and starts checking things out and we were greeted warmly. I would for sure reach out To Heather again. Thanks for the positive experience and caring for Sasha.

Sheila took such excellent care of our senior Westie who requires extra attention because of his age. She kept us well informed all day long about how our boy was doing. She spoiled him with attention and lots of short walks. We are deeply grateful for her caring and professional service and look forward to having our dog visit Sheila again.
Paul has such a calm and kind personality and although our pup is quite anxious, it didn't take Paul much time at all to get Milo all settled and comfortable. Paul send photos of Milo and it was a great experience! I would highly recommend Paul and we would definitely use him again in the future! Thanks again, Paul!

Tiana is the best dog sitter I have ever known. On Rover, or anywhere! Recent events had us looking for a temporary sitter for our almost one year old Katie. There's always the stress of leaving her win someone new. I'm a courier so my days are always different, and I was in communication with Tiana the entire time - she always replied right away. Not only that, but I was distracted all day from all the photos she sent me! When Katie spends her days at Tiana's she's also with Paisley and Casey, going for daily walks to the beach, hanging out in the beautiful yard with the apple trees, or inside in the big house. Our time of needing someone new to watch Katie is up but we're going to make sure she still gets to visit with Tiana, Casey, and Paisley (we hope) a couple times a month.

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your North Saanich commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
