“Tiana is great!! She is one of the best Rover caregivers I’ve ever worked with. We are in Sidney for just a couple of months, and I’m so glad I found her. She is very quick to respond and very easy to work with. She has a great fenced yard and friendly pups. Ben played all weekend. Tiana also sends lots of pics. We were never left wondering how Ben was doing because pics showed up multiple times a day. We look forward to working with her in the near future.”

“Heather was great about getting back to me in a timely manner for planning last minute, and sent lots of photos of my pup for me. It looked like Dolly had a great time there and appeared to be very comfortable when i arrived to pick her up, really appreciate the help and will be using Heather again in the future!”

“Sheila was amazing! She bravely agreed to care for our 80lbs 7-month puppy for over two weeks. We were so hesitant to leave him for such a long period while he is so young but meeting Sheila put our concerns to rest. She is a very calm and confident animal person and provided a nice loving home to our Toby. She also went the extra mile and dropped him at ferry terminal to help us with our travel connections home after a long trip. I highly recommend Sheila.”

“Amazing! Highly recommended, was in a pinch for safe boarding for my Dane and after four days Hendrix came home and slinked upstairs to our bed to pass out for 5hrs. Will be making this our primary for additional care. Highly recommended!!”

“My husky was so well taken care of by Kelsey and her family! She came back to me happy and tired 🥰 Kelsey was so good about sending pictures and updates too, which I loved. Will definitely be dropping aloo off again when I return to Victoria”

“Phenomenal experience. Prompt responses, amazing communication, my pup absolutely adored her and was exhausted once I brought her home. Highly recommend and will be using again”

“Quill loved his stay with Joanne and Adam. And I was so appreciative of how accommodating they were and with sending regular updates on my boy! I am so grateful to have found them on Rover - they are the perfect dog sitters and showed Quill so much love! Thank you Joanne and Adam!!!”

“It was such a treat to find someone we could leave our pup with. It was the first time we've left her with someone and she's 5.5 years old! I felt very comfortable leaving her after reading the reviews and also because Bill and Gerie came for a walk with us and saw how I handled her fear reactivity. We had the best staycation while we did a trial weekend. We did get updates which helped with our worries. Our dog was happy to see us but would have been very happy to stay as well. 🙂”

“Andrea was very responsive and took great care of our pup. Ou dog got lots of cuddles and was even allowed to sleep in her room despite being a snoring machine. I would certainly recommend her. Thanks Andrea and family!”

“This was our second time booking with Bianca and it was another great experience. Our dog was well cared for, we got regular updates, and it was clear she was comfortable and happy. Highly recommend and will book again!”

“I am so happy I found Sue. It was my puppy’s first time away overnight and I was nervous and feeling guilty. Sue is such a lovely person and loves dogs. She cared so well for Charlie and loved him up while we were away. She sent me photos and updates while we were gone and a video montage of his time after the stay! I am sooooooo happy i found Sue and have already rebooked her for 9 days in April. I will have no hesitation leaving Charlie for his own mini holiday this time!”

About: We’ve always had dogs and currently have three rescue pups of our own. Over the years we’ve cared for dogs with all kinds of personalities, from confident social butterflies to dogs that need a little more time to warm up. We know every dog is different and do our best to make them feel comfortable, safe, and part of the family while they’re with us. One of us works from home during the week, and we’re both around most weekends. That means lots of company, potty breaks, outdoor time, play, and cuddles throughout the day. We live on a fully fenced half-acre property with plenty of space to run, play, sniff, and explore. Our home is kennel-free, and dogs are welcome to make themselves comfortable wherever they like. We treat every dog as if they were our own. We are certified in Level 1 Dog CPR and First Aid, and all dogs staying with us must be current on their vaccinations to help ensure a safe environment for everyone.
“Wonderful space for doggos to enjoy nature and frolic in the forest. Megan is calm and kind and was very attentive to Odins needs. Great communicator as well. Thank you Megan!”

“Ada and Nick took such great care of George! It was apparent they both were very attentive to George’s needs and are very warm people, which made me feel at ease! We will definitely be booking with them again! Thanks for treating our pup like your own!”

“Rachel was fantastic! My dog had such a lovely time and I think it felt like a vacation for him. He enjoyed all the activities, and Rachel was thoughtful and provided amazing updates and communication throughout the time. This was our first time leaving our dog, and it was a very positive experience for all of us. Highly recommend her for any and all animal care needs.”

“Dakoda was wonderful with Ella, sent great photos and Ella was always happy in them. Good communication, prompt responses and very accommodating with pick up and drop off times. Thank you again for taking such great care of Ella”

“Kelsey is a great sitter, my Lucky is super happy to stay with her. Even after she often checks in with me about my dog. Seeing someone love a dog as much as she did is so lovely.”
“Kevin and Kayla are awesome! They are very accommodating with our dog Moose. They made sure she had everything she needed and also took extra attention to make her routine as similar to what she is used to at home. We will happily rebook with them in the future!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - North Saanich
Maryanne has been my dog’s sitter twice now and both times she kept me informed with pictures and msgs which are very comforting ! But most important my girl came home happy, relaxed and content ! The real proof of an amazing sitter is how happy and excited my little girl was to see Maryanne on the second visit … now that says it all !!!

Heather was awesome! Easy to communicate with and booking was smooth. Our dog is a little timid at first but Heather handled it well and sent us updates. Pam settled in and enjoyed the soft blankets on her couch, fenced-in backyard and going for walks in Sidney by the Sea. It's such peace of mind to know your dog is being cared for while you're away. We will definitely use Heather again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
