“Maryanne and her husband took very good care of my young energetic dog Twinkle, an Irish Water Spaniel. My dog was with them for more than 3 weeks and when she came back home she was relaxed and totally herself. Maryanne was extremely responsive to my communication which made the transaction easy and my vacation stress-free. The cherry on top of the cake: 2 days prior to leaving, Twinkle started her period. I was afraid they would not take her but they were up for the challenge. Its a lot of additional care and hassle so I told Maryanne I would compensate her for the extra work it would give her : she requested a reasonable amount for compensation. I received a couple of photos during our trip and they highlighted Twinkle second birthday party with extra treats and a birthday hat. Maryanne is for sure staying on my contact list of trusted dog sitter.”

“Ting and her family took wonderful care of Lewis. I received regular videos and photos to show me how much fun Lewis was having with her dog Cookie. It was easy to see how happy Lewis was! Lewis had lots of walks, a hike, and lots of play. He looked very much at home! I highly recommend Ting and her family and I am grateful to find a family I can trust to host Lewis with such care. Thank you, Ting!”

About: I have had cats or dogs my whole life. I’d love to make your travel easier by caring for your beloved fur babies while you are away from home. I work from home and can rearrange my schedule during the day to stop in and take your pets out for potty breaks or a quick walk or cuddles. I don’t currently have pets in my home, so if your pets overnight here, they will have my full attention. I live in Sidney very close to walking paths and parks for walks and playtime.
“We are very impressed with the care that Heather provided for our boy Duncan. Our dog is on a lot of different medications given at different times of the day and the schedule was followed to a T. Will be keeping Heather in mind for the future. Thanks for treating our boy like the Prince he is!”

“Sheila was amazing! She bravely agreed to care for our 80lbs 7-month puppy for over two weeks. We were so hesitant to leave him for such a long period while he is so young but meeting Sheila put our concerns to rest. She is a very calm and confident animal person and provided a nice loving home to our Toby. She also went the extra mile and dropped him at ferry terminal to help us with our travel connections home after a long trip. I highly recommend Sheila.”

“Tiana was excellent with Finn! He had so much fun with her dogs and she has a great outdoor space for them to play and run around! She was constantly updating us with photos which made us feel great about being away as we knew he was so well taken care of! Will definitely use her again and Finn will be so excited to return 😁”

“Our senior dog, Indy, had an amazing time with Kelsey and her family. From the photos we got she fit right in with the family, and we appreciate how well they took care of her.”

“Amazing! Highly recommended, was in a pinch for safe boarding for my Dane and after four days Hendrix came home and slinked upstairs to our bed to pass out for 5hrs. Will be making this our primary for additional care. Highly recommended!!”

“Monica is a very compassionate and capable pet sitter. I love receiving the frequent updates and know that Koa is getting lots of exercise and is in great hands. It sure takes the worry out of leaving your pet when you know that they are in a safe, loving and nurturing home.”

“I am so happy I found Sue. It was my puppy’s first time away overnight and I was nervous and feeling guilty. Sue is such a lovely person and loves dogs. She cared so well for Charlie and loved him up while we were away. She sent me photos and updates while we were gone and a video montage of his time after the stay! I am sooooooo happy i found Sue and have already rebooked her for 9 days in April. I will have no hesitation leaving Charlie for his own mini holiday this time!”

“We are grateful to have found Andrea to take care of Charlie, our pomchi. She put us at ease from our first meeting and was a wonderful communicator for the entire time we were away. Through pictures, emails and a happy dog when we returned, everything went well. We recommend Andrea and will be in contact with her next time!”

“For the second time, we feel incredibly satisfied and happy with Linda’s service. We never have to worry while we’re away because we know that our dog, Tobii, is being well taken care of. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing he’s in such good hands. Highly recommended!”

“Devyn was amazing and took very good care of Jax. She was very responsive and flexible which made everything very easy. I didn’t have to worry about him at all and knew he was in good hands.”

“Bianca cared for our pup Roots for 5-sleeps over the holidays! It was a big deal for us as we hadn’t ever left him that long before. Bianca is a great communicator and put us at ease knowing that he was being well loved and cared for. She is very responsible and conscientious in every way. We appreciated her attention to detail & big heart. A big thank you from all of us :)”

“Kelsey is a great sitter, my Lucky is super happy to stay with her. Even after she often checks in with me about my dog. Seeing someone love a dog as much as she did is so lovely.”

“So grateful that Shelley was available for me to fly out for my mom's funeral, I didn't have to worry about anything. It was our first time together, I'm sure kitties will see her again. She gave the "problem child" the extra attention he needed.”

“Helen is amazing! She really helped us out with pet-sitting our cat when in a tight spot and on short notice. I definitely felt confident Koi was in good hands while we were gone. I almost think Koi was a little disappointed when we returned home, hoping we were Helen instead 😅 thanks so much again!”

About: Hey cute dogs and responsible dog owners! I am a german dog trainer and I miss working with dogs so much! Since I am here in Canada, I work part-time from home and unfortunately I am not allowed to have an own dog, where I live. For the past 8 years I worked with more than 45 dogs and I fostered more than 30 dogs in my own home in Germany (mostly rescues). I used to worked with three german animal protection associations as well. My specialties are: - leash pulling issues - creating a better bond and relationship between dog and owner - behavior in general - issues at home I can´t wait to meet you and your dog! I work part-time in my own business at home, so I am able to organize my own times, when I work. But ideal is after 11:30 am. I know, how to read dogs. I work with dogs all my life, even as a kid, I worked with dogs at german dog parks. I was the youngest trainer in my town, who ever worked with dogs. And mostly, I often like dogs better than humans - to be honest. Dogs are just amazing. I will always take care about the safety of the animal, that - for me - is job one. Also I won´t give anything to the pet (treats, toys), that I haven´t talked through with the owner beforehand.

I focus on keeping pets comfortable by sticking as closely as possible to their normal routine. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions carefully—feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications—while also giving plenty of attention and affection. About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and just rescued my own about a year and a half ago. He is my world:). I know how stressful it can be to leave your animal with someone so I understand how hard it can be! I take my dog daily to dog parks, open fields, and on the occasional walk, so spending time with dogs is already a big part of my everyday life! I recently graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a double major in Psychology and Criminology and have moved back home to Brentwood Bay, BC after playing NCAA Division I hockey in Minnesota for the past several years. While living in Duluth, I rescued my dog Loki from a local humane society, and he quickly became one of the best parts of my life. That experience only strengthened my love for animals and the importance I place on providing them with a safe, happy, and active environment. Now that I'm back home, I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability during both weekdays and weekends, allowing me to provide the attention, care, and exercise your dog deserves. I would love the opportunity to care for your dog as if they were my own! Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. In my home, pets are treated like family and are always supervised when outside. I have a fairly large, fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely run and play, and I also live just down the road from a large elementary school field that is perfect for walks, exercise, and playtime. My family also has a white Boxer, so there are already two dog-friendly dogs in the home who are used to being around other pets. I follow each owner's instructions closely regarding feeding, medications, routines, and any special needs to help pets feel comfortable and maintain consistency. Whether I am caring for your pet in my home or yours, I will provide plenty of attention, exercise, affection, and regular updates so you can feel confident that they are in good hands.

About: My place has been a revolving door of visiting pets of friends and family for the past 6 years. I live with my wife and cocker spaniel, Vincent, and we keep him active with walks play which he loves to have other dogs join I am currently completing a degree in kinesiology at camosun college, which keeps me busy but also has plenty of time at home for pet care. I can easily be available for visits and visitors I like to take my dog out for walks around the property several times a day. There is a nice field far from roads that I allow him off leash to run, play and chase smells. There is a large dog park which is about a 10 minute drive away and a mountain hike that is 5 minutes to walk to (about an hour to complete the hike and get home). We play with his toys inside and Vincent is always happy to play with visitors and other dogs at the park.

“Criofan was great, we were travelling from Edmonton and decided to do a last minute Whale Watching Tour. Within 5 minutes Criofan responded and we had Luna booked in to play for the day. We really appreciated the late night pick up at 10pm, was flexible for us to enjoy our time in Victoria without feeling rushed. The drive was only 20 mins, but was definitely worth the drive, huge space for Luna to run with Albert. Really appreciated the messages after dropping Luna off, put my mind at ease that she was behaving. Highly recommend, we got back a happy tired pooch!”

“I can’t say enough about how great Rachel is. I highly recommend her. My dog Kai loved spending time with with her and be a farm dog for two days. If you need a dog daycare please use Rachel, she’s fabulous”

“Anisha is great! She is very professional and communicative. Even before daycare, she let us know there would be another pup in her care and made sure our pups would be compatible before booking :) We left our 6 month old puppy in her care, and he came home tired and happy-- he had lots of play time! She was attentive to the notes in his profile and we were provided a debrief of his day. She is so good at understanding and managing puppy behaviors! We would really like to book her services again if we can find time in her calendar.”

“Monica was just wonderful. I loved all the pictures and videos she sent of Angel during her stayed. It’s obvious that Angel had a great time. Will definitely be returning. I highly recommend Monica!”

“Devyn did a great job with our very anxious husky for the day. Although she was a bit nervous at first, Devyn made her feel comfortable and she eventually made herself right at home, which we saw from the pictures Devyn sent through the day. We would not hesitate to use Devyn again when we’re back in the area!”
“My 2 year old black lab had a wonderful day with Robin and Luc hanging out in their home. Oscar was happy and relaxed to go into their house for his first visit and was happy and relaxed when I picked him up a few hours later. Updates were sent to me throughout the day, including photos. I feel very good about utilizing Robin and Luc's services and I highly recommend them. I give them a 5 star rating and 2 thumbs up :-)”

“Nick and Chialin were amazing with Frankie. Nick took special care insuring our girl had a relaxed, comfortable afternoon at their place. Took her for a nice walk and hung out with her while being kind and attentive. She came home relaxed and happy. Thanks for taking great care of our girl!”

“Amy is magnificent! I was a bit hesitant to put in a review as I want her available for my mutt! ;-) She is very calm and zen, loving, open and warm which was evidenced by our first meet and greet where she got on the floor and my girl just cuddled into her arms. She sent photos and updates without me asking and was flexible with last minute changes keeping Lily overnight. It is my Lily (the white French Bull Dog) that you will see on her sitter profile, and you can see for yourself how wonderful Amy is.”
About: Hello dog lovers! My name is Kelsey and I am an animal lover and youth & family counsellor with the vancouver island YMCA in a variety of neurodiverse settings. I have always felt a closeness and sincere love for all animals :) I am a responsible individual and am so excited to love and care for your furry friend! I have raised my own pup for 15 years and now have a sweet, gentle border collie named Takaya who recently turned 4! Takaya loves all dogs - but can also very easily be separated from your pup as we have a relatively large property, as I know all dogs have differing levels of comfortability around other dogs. In addition to dogs, I also have experience caring for rabbits, guinea pigs, and cats. As my work is currently flexible & often remote - I will be available the vast majority of each day to spend time caring for your loved one. Travelling frequently over the past few years, I am truly able to empathise with other pet owners as they hope for peace of mind in regards to their pets well-being and comfort while they're away. It is my goal to offer you this sense of peace and to love your furry family member as I would my own. I can also provide pick up and drop off! I can't wait to hear from you! Kelsey I'm extremely fortunate to work flexibly and often remotely for the YMCA so that I may truly focus on caring for and comforting your pet while they are missing you. My husband and I have a large, fenced in yard, with tonnes of outdoor and indoor space. If your furry loved one is not comfortable around other dogs, it is very easy to separate my border collie while still providing each animal with close connection and care.

I follow care instructions closely, keep environments safe and structured, and pay attention to behaviour or health changes. You can expect reliable communication, thoughtful updates, and care that prioritizes your dog’s wellbeing while you’re away. Although I work full time, I have flexibility to work from home when needed, which allows me to build pet care smoothly into my daily routine. When working in the office I commute to Nanaimo, which means I can provide home care to pets from Shawnigan Lake to Nanaimo. I focus on creating a safe, calm environment for pets, both in my home and in clients’ homes. I stick to routines, follow instructions carefully, and pay close attention to safety on walks and at home. I’m respectful of clients’ spaces and keep things clean and secure. “Bianca was great with our little guy Bruno, she was very accommodating when we had some issues with our building and had to change the schedule. She is responsive and we will not hesitate to bring our dog to her care next time we require it.”

About: Originally from California, I spent 4 years consistently volunteering at the Animal Rescue Foundation (an organization that saves dogs and cats from inhumane public shelters). My responsibilities began with basic shelter essential chores, and as the months progressed I undertook training to specialize in Dog Care. I helped rescues become comfortable with human interaction by reading books to them. I learned how to monitor their body language, making adjustments to my approach so that the dogs feel more relaxed during their temporary time at the shelter. To be appointed this position I underwent a series of training, as well as written and hands-on examinations. In the summer of 2021, I was hired as a professional dog walker — taking up to 8 dogs at a time! Through this role, I learned crucial skills of safe dog walking. I have over five years of experience on Rover as well, and have built trusting relationships with my pup clients and their owners. I have an incredibly strong fondness for animals, and treat each one as my own. While I am unable to care for dogs at my own residence, I am available to come to you! I do dog walks, house drop-ins, and house sitting. It would be an honor to become a friend and caretaker to your beloved pet! Safety and happiness are my top priorities. I have a 1 year old miniature dachshund named Baguette, who loves other dogs and is very friendly. Please feel free to reach out with any questions — I’m a quick responder. Schedule: I work remotely and have a flexible schedule at the moment, especially for house sitting where I can just work remotely with your pup and give them love all day! House Drop-Ins: During my house drop-ins, a list of food portions and any important info is greatly appreciated. For dogs that require medication, detailed instructions and dosage are necessary to ensure safety. It’s also great to know your dog’s favorite toys or exercise activities! In the past I have done house drop-ins for senior dogs who can’t necessarily handle a regular walk, and prefer a play in the yard or a stroll around the block.

“Aylin is reliable and kind. She is patient, especially waiting for an overly excited dog to calm down before a walk. Holly was very happy to see her for all of her daily walks! I definitely recommend hiring Aylin.”

About: I have experience with both cats and dogs! I’ve had dogs ever since I can remember. Currently have a 13 year old special needs (missing a leg) kitty and a 7 month old absolutely crazy husky hound! I have experience looking after senior dogs and puppies! Also have experience with various kinds of oral medicines for both cats and dogs. Can walk your dog by themselves, or with my pup too! I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate consistent time and attention to pet care throughout the day. Walks, check-ins, and visits easily fit into my daily routine, and I’m able to be reliable and responsive to each pet’s needs. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by sticking as closely as possible to their normal routine. In a client’s home, I follow all care instructions carefully—feeding, walks, playtime, and any medications—while also giving plenty of attention and affection. I make sure they feel safe and relaxed while you’re away, and I keep you updated with photos and messages. In my home, I provide a calm, clean, and pet-safe environment with lots of supervision, structured walks, and playtime tailored to your dog’s energy level and personality. I have a 7 month old fur baby to keep your dog company! On walks I can bring her with me or I can focus on your fur baby!

I began dog sitting as a favour to friends and family and have enjoyed it so much that I want to continue doing it as much as I possibly can. My love for animals will never stop growing and I would love to add your pet to my list of animals to love! Please message me if you have any questions or corncerns, I am very flexible and available whenever needed. I am working towards becoming a full time pet caretaker. About: Hi There! I'm Amber and I am a fur mama to two Chihuahuas. I love all animals (more than people). I have babysat my friends and families pets for years (puppies too!). I would love to watch over your fur baby. I am available 7 days a week for dog walking for almost any time of day. I am an athletic person so long walks (2 hours) are no trouble for me. I am also available to come for potty breaks multiple times a day. My chihuahuas are my babies. They are part of the family. We go on 2-3 walks a day, play fetch in the yard, and lots of snuggling. They have full range of the house and of course sleep in the bed. I make them healthy home cooked meals.
“Sara- thank you so much for your time with Stanley. He was a happy pup and I was so happy to know he was having a good time and was well cared for. Sara was very professional, respectful, I would very highly recommend Sara.”

About: I have a lifetime worth of experience with dogs/cats as I have always had both in my home. I also have experience with dog/house sitting for multiple days with one or more dogs at a time. This includes daily walks, feeding, and playing. As someone who had a very reactive dog for 10 years, I understand the stress when having someone else look after them. I am here to make sure your animal feels safe and loved! I currently have availability Monday-Friday and weekends upon request. My daily routines consist of CrossFit, hikes/walks, and running. It would be a bonus adding your dog into my schedule. Having had 3 different dogs throughout my life alongside cats takes a lot of responsibility so I am familiar with how to take care of a full house. Whether that includes walking, hiking, or just stopping in to say hi, I am fully confident in caring for your pets.

Fantastic animal person.”

“Amelia and Thomas were great guardians for my border collie Seeka! They watched him for a few nights and gave me regular updates and pictures, which I really appreciated. I hope to have them sit Seeka again this summer while on the island”
