“Holly was seriously amazing! We booked her last minute due to a trip to Sweden and a last minute medical emergency with our cat, putting him on a few medications. She sent us updates everyday that were detailed and helped us so much. I am beyond grateful for what she did for us. Thank you so much Holly!”

About: I currently have a Sphynx (high maintenance cat breed with very specific needs) so I’m comfortable with tailored routines, diet restrictions, and reading an animal’s particular quirks.. I also grew up with dogs (multiple Border Collies) so I know the energy and exercise they need too. Whether your pet wants constant attention, space, or a specific routine, I adjust to what actually works for them :) I am currently working part time, so I have free time in my week and would love to drop in and take care of your animal(s). Typically I work Thursday-Saturday, but am happy to accommodate as best I can if you need support during those days. In your home, I stick closely to their feeding schedule, walks, and any specific instructions, staying attentive to their comfort in their own environment throughout each visit. *I have a cat in my home, (2 bd duplex house). I am happy to have your pet stay in my home if they’re patient/friendly towards cats and my cat gets along with them -would need to discuss/meet & greet prior to me hosting*
“Monet did an amazing job taking care of our two cats! She is very trustworthy, quick to respond, and sends lots of great photos. It was clear from the photos that she spent lots of time playing with them and swapping out toys. She even took the time to vacuum around the litter box. It’s clear she loves animals and is very responsible - we’d 100% recommend her!”

“Lucy was fantastic with my dog Perla! It was her first time with a sitter, and she can be nervous around new people but Lucy had the magic touch and immediately made Perla feel comfortable. She was very communicative and made me feel reassured that Perla was well taken care of. If you're looking for a trustworthy sitter that's great with pets, Lucy is your girl.”

“Robin took wonderful care of my cat (Moon) while I was out of town. She was responsive through Rover and checked in on the timings we had scheduled when the weather got really warm - she had Moon’s best interest at heart!”

“Melanie is great with our three pets two dogs and a cat, she gives them massages and they are always happier after seeing her. She is great at communicating and does a great job. I would recommend her to anyone who wants their pets cared for.”

“Ava was fantastic! She was so easy to book with and accommodating. Nala loved her, and it was clear Ava spent quality time with her. She kept us updated on how Nala was doing and sent some great pictures. Anyone would be lucky to hire Ava to take care of their pets; she deeply cares about animals, and our (grumpy senior cat) Nala can't wait to have her back. Thank you Ava!”

About: My family has welcomed many pups into our lives! Between the whole family there are 2 goldens, 2 frenchies, 1 whoodle, and 1 puggle. I am very responsible and understanding to the fact it can be hard to let others look after your fur baby, as well as the responsibilities when looking after dogs! (and cats). I take whichever pups are around on long walks each weekend I come home, rain or shine. I do have a car, so going to fun destinations is an option (if comfortable). I am open to playing fetch at a field to going on short flat walks to longer hikes or going on a beach walk! All depending on the pup(s) and what they need :) please feel free to send me a message if you have any further questions!
About: My assistant, Kevin (our dog), and I are happy to hangout with your dogs when you need a sitter. Good with all dogs from puppies in training to senior dogs needing extra love. Currently working from home full time so lots of time to spend with your pets. Have a 2 year old dog at home with me so your dog will have a friend to play with the whole time. Have a fenced backyard with lots of space for your dog with relax and explore. We live close to lots of parks and trails for walking and hiking adventures.
About: I love animals and spend a lot of time training, snuggling, brushing, playing with and spoiling my Aussiedoodle with treats. I come with a parent who has had animals her whole life and is very comfortable making sure your pup is well cared for. We have a flexible schedule with afternoon visits being the most convenient, but can be flexible. My 9 year old is keen to come as her first “job” however I work shift work and am available often during the day to fill in any gaps. We are mostly interested in visits to your home for cat or dog sitting. We are happy to provide what is needed based on your animals temperament and needs. Refilling food, snuggles, play, etc. as needed.
About: Ever since I was 5 we have had a dog or three in the house. I have learned from a young age how to care for, love, and properly discipline dogs to assure that they know they are loved and yet display the best behaviour possible! All while keeping them happy and healthy. I am a business owner and over the past year I have been able to step away from the front lines and do management. This gives me the time needed to spend with your dogs and make sure they are taken care of while you are away! As I cannot offer services at my home, I will assure that your home is taken care of as well as your dog. Your home will be treated as if it is mine and your dog aswell. There’s not much I love more in life than dogs.
About: I’ve cared for many pets since childhood, giving me decades of hands‑on experience with all kinds of personalities and needs. I offer calm, reliable care making pets feel safe, understood, and genuinely loved. And yes, dogs think I’m hilarious, while cats simply tolerate me — I respect the dynamic. I’m here for the zoomies and the drama! Calm, patient, and great with shy or anxious pets who need a soft, reassuring presence. I stick closely to feeding schedules, potty routines, medication instructions, and walk preferences so pets feel secure and comfortable. I always send warm, detailed updates with photos so you can feel connected and reassured. My goal is simple: to make your pet feel right at home, treated with the same patience, gentleness, and respect I give my own… plus a little extra, because I speak fluent “treat” and I’m an unlicensed but highly skilled cuddle dealer! Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I’m not working at the moment, so your pet basically becomes my coworker — and honestly, they’re way better company. I’m able to give pets my full attention. I keep a flexible schedule for drop‑ins, daycare, and walks, and I’m available to follow each pet’s specific routine, from feeding and potty breaks to playtime and calm companionship. Pets get consistent care, plenty of interaction, and a reliable presence throughout the day. Drop-ins at your home: I keep things consistent by following their established schedule, giving pets calm companionship, enrichment, and plenty of attention. Walks are safe, paced, and full of sniff‑approved adventures. Daycare is a mix of play, rest, and gentle supervision. When pets stay with me, they get a clean, cozy environment, a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor time, and whatever routine makes them feel most at ease — from free roaming to crating if that’s their comfort zone.
About: I’ve always loved animals, honestly probably more than humans! I have several years of hands on experience caring for cats, along with walking dogs for neighbours and colleagues. I also work in a dog friendly environment, so I’m very comfortable around dogs and love getting to know their different personalities. I’m reliable, attentive, and treat every pet as if they were my own. I always take the time to understand their routine, personality, and individual needs so they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. As long as I receive a request 2 to 3 days in advance, I can arrange my schedule around your pet’s needs. I’m flexible and happy to work with you to find a time that fits both of our schedules. While I deeply understand the importance of providing a comfortable and loving environment for pets, I must inform you that I cannot accommodate pets in my home due to my resident cat. However, I am more than happy to provide pet-sitting services in the comfort of your own home. Ensuring your pet remains in familiar surroundings can reduce stress and maintain their routine. Rest assured, whether it's at my place or yours, your pet will receive the utmost care, attention, and love they deserve.

Richelle always does such a great job. She did a stop in visit today for my cat and played with her and gave her lots of attention. She always follows instructions and is great at communication and sending the cutest pictures. Highly recommend, thank you! Very happy customer. Jenn and Lilly

I couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter! It gave me such peace of mind knowing my cat was so well cared for while I was away. Alynne was reliable, communicative, and clearly treated my cat with genuine love. She also sent me lots of pictures, which helped with the separation on my part! My cat had some unexpected tummy issues while I was away, and I still came home to a very happy, relaxed kitty. I would absolutely recommend Alynne to anyone looking for exceptional pet care!

Michelle is fantastic! We have used her multiple times. She provides detailed reports about how the cats were doing at each check in. Michelle had no problem administering medication and was fantastic with letting our cats out and making sure they had everything that they needed. It is clear that Michelle and her son Evan love cats and adore spending with with them. Michelle even managed to make friends with one of our cats who usually won’t take to anyone else! Highly recommend Michelle and we will be using her again.

Stacey is wonderful! My very elderly cat was very happy seeing Stacey twice a day and is happy and calm upon my return. Stacey sent me lovely pictures of my cat daily and I felt so confident with her care of my old girl. Stacey was so easy to talk to and her visits were just what was needed. I will definitely call on her again.
Lucy was fantastic with my dog Perla! It was her first time with a sitter, and she can be nervous around new people but Lucy had the magic touch and immediately made Perla feel comfortable. She was very communicative and made me feel reassured that Perla was well taken care of. If you're looking for a trustworthy sitter that's great with pets, Lucy is your girl.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Bay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
