“This was my first time using Rover and I had a great experience with Sarah. She was very thorough explaining to me her process during our meet and greet and I felt confident before I left that she would take good care of my cat Peach while I was away. Peach is shy with new people, and she was great with him; he warmed up to her quickly. She thoroughly documented her visits with lots of pictures and details which helped me feel at ease as a pet parent who is a bit anxious to leave their cat for even a weekend trip. Sarah definitely went above and beyond for me, and I would not hesitate to book her again.”

About: Ever since I was 5 we have had a dog or three in the house. I have learned from a young age how to care for, love, and properly discipline dogs to assure that they know they are loved and yet display the best behaviour possible! All while keeping them happy and healthy. I am a business owner and over the past year I have been able to step away from the front lines and do management. This gives me the time needed to spend with your dogs and make sure they are taken care of while you are away! As I cannot offer services at my home, I will assure that your home is taken care of as well as your dog. Your home will be treated as if it is mine and your dog aswell. There’s not much I love more in life than dogs.
“Diane is a pro! She went out of her way to meet Tiger before I left on my trip. She is confident around kitties, and Tiger was happy To see her immediately. She was a great communicator, asked the important questions and made me feel confident leaving Tiger in her capable hands. Diane sent fun photos and communicated when needed when I was gone. I returned to a happy and playful kitty. Thank you Diane.”

“Richelle is so patient with our shy chihuahua. She's done several drop-in visits for us and has been gaining his trust. She leaves very thorough visit notes and lots of pictures. :-)”

“Holly was great with our 2 cats. She kept us up to date with detailed pictures and closely followed all instructions that we left. Our cats were happy and healthy and we would definitely book her again.”

I am extremely reliable and easy going, with tons of references on my abilities on house and pet care. I can't wait to meet your furry family members! I currently work full time, but I have tons of time in the morning and evenings for dog-walking. I am also open to living in your home while you are away to take care of your pets. About: I’ve been a dog and cat sitter since high school, first sitting for family and friends and now doing it as a side job as well as while travelling. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, and cats of all temperaments. Open to most areas of Victoria, and have a reliable vehicle to get to and from sits, and take dogs out for nice walks in the parks or hiking trails of the area. Please feel free to reach out for any details or scheduling questions. I currently work full time 9-5, so am primarily available for stop in care or overnights with cats and other lower maintenance animals comfortably with being home for a work day. I am available for dogs and multiple walks a day on weekends only. I am only available for care in the pets/clients home as my building is pet-free. I am very trustworthy as I have plenty of past experience in others homes both as a pet sitter and house cleaner. And my current day job requires regular criminal record checks to come back clean.
“I had Lauren do some drop in visits with my 10 year-old Labradoodle. She was excellen and Charly warmed to her quickly. I would not hesitate to use her for drop in visits, walking or for in-house sitting.”

“Absolutely great! Darcie did exactly what we asked and showed she really cared. Great communication from Darcie with lots of details. We couldn't be happier with her service!”

“I was very happy with the care they provided! I could tell they were animal lovers by there profile. They were friendly at the first greet and gave my two bunnies care and attention. I felt at ease knowing the bunnies where well taken care of. I would definitely book Silva again!”

About: I have had dogs as pets my whole life and taken care of them for as long as I remember! As a kid I worked at the humane society for a summer and got to walk and take care of the dogs. My schedule is very flexible and open! While I have a few things planned throughout the summer I can always find time to care for your pets! I am available most days morning through night. I will always be whiling to take any dogs on longer walks in safe areas (to parks and on non busy roads). I know how to crate and am whiling to learn many new routines, weather with feeding or otherwise, to help your dog!
About: Hello! I absolutely love cats & dogs and have cared for animals since childhood, starting with my own family pets. Over the years, I’ve gained experience helping friends, neighbours, and clients with dog walking, pet sitting, and overnight care, including caring for a senior blind dog over the course of a summer. I understand that every pet has different needs, personalities, and energy levels. Some pets love long walks and playtime, while others simply want calm companionship and routine. I always try to make animals feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I currently have no pets in my home, so your pet would have a quiet environment and plenty of attention during overnight stays if needed. My schedule is flexible, and I’m typically home mornings and evenings and away for shorter periods during the afternoon. I also love keeping owners updated with photos and messages so you can feel relaxed knowing how your pet is doing throughout the day. I’m attentive, reliable, calm under pressure, and genuinely love building trust with both pets and their owners. My goal is always for your pet to feel happy, safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. If I am house sitting, you will return to a clean and happy home! I would love to build long-term relationships with regular clients in Victoria and the surrounding area. I am pretty flexible as my work schedule tends to vary. I live in the Oak Bay area but am happy to travel for your pet needs. I care for pets the same way their owners would with consistency, love, and attention to detail. For in home stays: pets receive affection, playtime, and comfort. Cats have daily litter cleaning and scheduled feedings at their usual times, while dogs get two walks per day, potty breaks, feeding, and plenty of pets and love. For dog walks: I make sure they’re happy and refreshed with potty breaks, light grooming if needed so they’re clean when they return, and treats or feedings as directed. My goal is always to keep pets comfortable, cared for, and loved just like they are with you.
About: Hi there! I’m Nick, and I am a lifelong animal lover. I believe every pet animal deserves a safe, fun, and engaging experience. Whether it’s a long walk in the neighborhood, a hike on the trails, or just some quality backyard playtime, I’m dedicated to keeping your pet happy and tired! I am reliable, punctual, and—most importantly—patient. I know how important it is to have peace of mind when you’re away, so I prioritize clear communication and frequent updates. I look forward to giving your pet the attention and exercise they need while you’re busy. I just moved to Victoria BC and have lots of free time, a flexible work schedule, and a bike to get around. I live alone and work from home as an instructor and researcher at a few universities. I wake up very early and love being outside as much as possible. I am keen to explore my surroundings, including parks! I have access to a vehicle too with advanced notice. I live in a small apartment in downtown Victoria with access to a rooftop pet care area and cleaning facilities. I am very mobile within a limited range that is accessible by bicycle. I have access to a vehicle if necessary with advanced notice.
“Madison was awesome with our cat, Birdie. She's an excellent communicator, sending detailed updates each day, with lots of photos. We would absolutely rebook her in the future. Thank you, Madison, for taking such good care of our cat!”

About: I currently have a Sphynx (high maintenance cat breed with very specific needs) so I’m comfortable with tailored routines, diet restrictions, and reading an animal’s particular quirks.. I also grew up with dogs (multiple Border Collies) so I know the energy and exercise they need too. Whether your pet wants constant attention, space, or a specific routine, I adjust to what actually works for them :) I am currently working part time, so I have free time in my week and would love to drop in and take care of your animal(s). Typically I work Thursday-Saturday or Sunday, but am happy to accommodate as best I can if you need support during those days. In your home, I stick closely to their feeding schedule, walks, and any specific instructions, staying attentive to their comfort in their own environment throughout each visit. *I have a cat in my home, (2 bd duplex house). I am happy to have your pet stay in my home if they’re patient/friendly towards cats and my cat gets along with them -would need to discuss/meet & greet prior to me hosting*

Excellent service and professionalism! Lauren took great care of my cat and made sure he got his meds while I was away, and included many pictures with every visit. It really put my mind at ease to know my lil guy was in such good hands, and I’ll absolutely be booking again!

I couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter! It gave me such peace of mind knowing my cat was so well cared for while I was away. Alynne was reliable, communicative, and clearly treated my cat with genuine love. She also sent me lots of pictures, which helped with the separation on my part! My cat had some unexpected tummy issues while I was away, and I still came home to a very happy, relaxed kitty. I would absolutely recommend Alynne to anyone looking for exceptional pet care!

Michelle is fantastic! We have used her multiple times. She provides detailed reports about how the cats were doing at each check in. Michelle had no problem administering medication and was fantastic with letting our cats out and making sure they had everything that they needed. It is clear that Michelle and her son Evan love cats and adore spending with with them. Michelle even managed to make friends with one of our cats who usually won’t take to anyone else! Highly recommend Michelle and we will be using her again.

Stacey is wonderful! My very elderly cat was very happy seeing Stacey twice a day and is happy and calm upon my return. Stacey sent me lovely pictures of my cat daily and I felt so confident with her care of my old girl. Stacey was so easy to talk to and her visits were just what was needed. I will definitely call on her again.
Lucy was fantastic with my dog Perla! It was her first time with a sitter, and she can be nervous around new people but Lucy had the magic touch and immediately made Perla feel comfortable. She was very communicative and made me feel reassured that Perla was well taken care of. If you're looking for a trustworthy sitter that's great with pets, Lucy is your girl.

Robin was great! Super communicative, great with my cat, and very willing to help out (ex. Cleaned litter without being asked, offered to water plants). Their availability was also super helpful/flexible. I will for sure be booking with Robin again and would definitely recommend them to a friend!

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Bay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
