“Lucy was fantastic with my dog Perla! It was her first time with a sitter, and she can be nervous around new people but Lucy had the magic touch and immediately made Perla feel comfortable. She was very communicative and made me feel reassured that Perla was well taken care of. If you're looking for a trustworthy sitter that's great with pets, Lucy is your girl.”

About: 💜 I am a kind and affectionate individual who treasures spending time with furry friends 💛 I adore spending quality time with pups and kitties of all breeds and sizes 🩵 I have a great amount of experience, having spent the last 18 months pet-sitting across Western Canada: across the Okanagan Valley, in and around Calgary, and now in beautiful Victoria My daily and weekly schedule is based around the kitties and pups that I care for 🐾 Whether I am pet-sitting in your home, dropping into your home for a visit, or collecting a pooch for their dog walk, my commitment to you and your fur baby is my top priority 💚 For me, following the instructions each pet parent provides is paramount 📝 Each four-legged friend (and their home) is different, so I will always tailor everything accordingly 🧡 Whether that's a more relaxed schedule for a senior feline or doggo, or a more active schedule for an energetic pooch 🐶😺
“5 stars isn’t enough. Diane’s fantastic. She’s communicative, and even sends a photo of my cat eating his food. I wouldn’t have asked, but the peace of mind is sooo nice. Will have her over again.”

About: Updated SUMMER 2026 SCHEDULE: Pet Sitting for all types of animals in YOUR own home 🐶😸 Pet Sitting in YOUR home Available 7 days/week 🐕😸🦎 Drop-Ins & Walks Available Mon-Fri after 5pm & anytime weekends. Please note, I offer services primarily in the Oakbay/Fernwood/Oaklands/Hillside/Downtown area. Pet Sitting requests outside this area may be declined or require extra fees. MY SUMMER 2026 SCHEDULE has been updated! Pet Sitting happens in YOUR animals own home to reduce stress and maintain your furry friend's regular feeding and bathroom routine. Animals can get dysregulated by change, just like humans! So this option allows your pet to skip the high energy and stress of kennels as I will be staying in your home and providing love and care for your pet day and night as requested. **Please note I work remotely from my laptop during the day. This means I will be multi tasking between computer work and phone calls, while also ensuring your animals are loved and cared for like they were my own by providing them care, feeding, walks, and bathroom breaks. Please provide parking and a WIFI password on the counter as I require internet access to work from home. Thank you! :) Drop Ins and Walks only offerred Mon-Fri after 5pm, and Weekends anytime. **Not offering care in my home at this time. About Me: I have two dogs of my own, as well as two bunnies, 6 chickens, a pig and two domestic pigeons. Therefore I am very familiar with animal needs and behaviors! I encourage any specific care needs be written down or messaged to me through Rover to ensure high quality care and detail can be given. Please note: ALL services are conducted WITHOUT my dogs or pets. Additionally, for safety purposes I do not interact animals from different houses. House sitting and walks are done for ONE household at a time, for safety purposes. Feel free to reach out with questions! :) I provide care in your own home, by taking them out for walks, to the bathroom, refilling food/water as needed. Since care is provided in your own home I will be home during the day and can be receptive to your pets needs and any specific care plans they may have. This ensures that while you are away your animals recieve consistent care and you recieve peace of mind. Feel free to ask me questions! ☺️
“Richelle was an exceptional sitter for my two cats! Both have anxiety in their own way and she knew exactly what they needed to feel as good as possible in my absence. She was super responsive, asked lots of questions to get to know them, and provided detailed summaries of her visits with lots of photos. Highly recommend for anxious pets and pet parents alike!”

“Lauren did a great job walking our energetic & ball-loving 3 year old chocolate Lab over the Christmas holidays. She was very flexible with her schedule, which helped a lot on our end and did a great job communicating with us. I would recommend Lauren in a heartbeat!”

About: I have hands on pet care experience through regularly house sitting over the past three years, where I cared for two cats during weekend stays. This included following detailed care instructions, feeding schedules, and providing companionship to keep them comfortable while their owners were away. I also have experience caring for a three-legged dog on and off since 2024, including feeding, walking, and ensuring she stayed happy and comfortable. Through these experiences, I’ve learned the importance of routine, patience, and attention to each pet’s individual needs. I currently have a flexible schedule while completing online school, which allows me to provide plenty of attention and care for the pets I’m looking after. Since my coursework can be done remotely, I’m able to spend lots of time at home with pets, follow their routines, and make sure they receive regular walks, companionship, and care throughout the day. I treat every client’s home and pets with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I make sure pets feel safe and comfortable by following their usual routines, keeping their environment clean, and paying attention to their individual needs and behaviours. I’m mindful of doors, gates, and surroundings to help prevent accidents, and I always take the time to make pets feel comfortable at their own pace.
“Marcia was so wonderful. She took good care of Fawn while I was away and left some cute Polaroids of their time together. I’ll be contacting her again next time 😻”

“Robin took wonderful care of my cat (Moon) while I was out of town. She was responsive through Rover and checked in on the timings we had scheduled when the weather got really warm - she had Moon’s best interest at heart!”

“Alexa was awesome! Very accommodating and easy to communicate with. She took great care of our dog and cat. Appreciated her consideration when accommodating changes in our schedule. Very professional and highly recommended.”

About: I’ve been caring for neighbors’ pets for over 6 years and grew up with family dogs that I routinely care for. I’m reliable, experienced, and truly love animals. I’m comfortable with walks, feedings, playtime, and giving pets the attention and care they deserve—just like family. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I’m a nursing student with a flexible schedule, so I can accommodate walks, feedings, and playtime throughout the day. I prioritize giving pets consistent attention and care, whether it’s early mornings, afternoons, or evenings. I always follow the pet owner’s instructions carefully and make sure pets are in a safe, clean, and calm environment. In your home, I respect your space and routines. I’m gentle, responsible, and make sure pets feel secure, whether I’m walking them or just keeping them company.
About: I love animals and spend a lot of time training, snuggling, brushing, playing with and spoiling my Aussiedoodle with treats. I come with a parent who has had animals her whole life and is very comfortable making sure your pup is well cared for. We have a flexible schedule with afternoon visits being the most convenient, but can be flexible. My 9 year old is keen to come as her first “job” however I work shift work and am available often during the day to fill in any gaps. We are mostly interested in visits to your home for cat or dog sitting. We are happy to provide what is needed based on your animals temperament and needs. Refilling food, snuggles, play, etc. as needed.
“Melanie is great with our three pets two dogs and a cat, she gives them massages and they are always happier after seeing her. She is great at communicating and does a great job. I would recommend her to anyone who wants their pets cared for.”

“Ava was fantastic! She was so easy to book with and accommodating. Nala loved her, and it was clear Ava spent quality time with her. She kept us updated on how Nala was doing and sent some great pictures. Anyone would be lucky to hire Ava to take care of their pets; she deeply cares about animals, and our (grumpy senior cat) Nala can't wait to have her back. Thank you Ava!”

Richelle was a terrific cat-sitter for our cat Chester. He has a few issues and not the easiest food to prepare and Richelle did everything we asked and more. She was professional and friendly and made sure to give us detailed notes on her visits, how Chester was feeling/doing, etc. Would heartily recommend Richelle anytime and will certainly ask her to come back if she's available in the future! Thank you Richelle :)

Lauren takes excellent care of our cat Basil, and always includes daily photos. We are anxious pet parents so we love seeing these photos every day while we’re away. Lauren leaves our place today and neat, and always takes out the litter garbage as an added bonus. Thanks Lauren!!

Michelle is fantastic! We have used her multiple times. She provides detailed reports about how the cats were doing at each check in. Michelle had no problem administering medication and was fantastic with letting our cats out and making sure they had everything that they needed. It is clear that Michelle and her son Evan love cats and adore spending with with them. Michelle even managed to make friends with one of our cats who usually won’t take to anyone else! Highly recommend Michelle and we will be using her again.

Really great experience. Angela and Gabriel were wonderful with our 1.5-year-old dog, Jarvis! He is incredibly affectionate and full of energy, and they did an amazing job handling his excitement while making him feel comfortable and cared for. They were patient, attentive, and clearly experienced with energetic dogs. We felt confident leaving Jarvis with them and would absolutely trust them to watch him again. We highly recommend Angela and Gabriel to anyone looking for kind, reliable dog sitters!

Stacey is wonderful! My very elderly cat was very happy seeing Stacey twice a day and is happy and calm upon my return. Stacey sent me lovely pictures of my cat daily and I felt so confident with her care of my old girl. Stacey was so easy to talk to and her visits were just what was needed. I will definitely call on her again.
Lucy was fantastic with my dog Perla! It was her first time with a sitter, and she can be nervous around new people but Lucy had the magic touch and immediately made Perla feel comfortable. She was very communicative and made me feel reassured that Perla was well taken care of. If you're looking for a trustworthy sitter that's great with pets, Lucy is your girl.

Robin was great! Super communicative, great with my cat, and very willing to help out (ex. Cleaned litter without being asked, offered to water plants). Their availability was also super helpful/flexible. I will for sure be booking with Robin again and would definitely recommend them to a friend!

Heather was lovely! She came before I left to meet my cat and check out the routine. She loved my cat (obviously because my cat is the cutest cat who ever lived)😏. She made sure to follow all the instructions and sent me pictures each time. Thank you for caring for my fur baby!

We recently got a new puppy and Kendall has been wonderful to work with! Crate training was new to us and she provided helpful guidance that made the process easier. Her communication has been excellent throughout, it's clear she genuinely cares about both pets and their people. We’re incredibly grateful for all she’s done for us and our puppy, Ruby. We would highly recommend Kendall to anyone looking for knowledgeable, supportive help with their dog!

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oak Bay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
