Loving & active pet sitter
For the past seven years, I worked at a dog-friendly brewpub in Calgary, where dogs were welcome both inside the taproom and on the patio. It wasn’t unusual to have 40 or more dogs on the premises at once. Part of my role was actively caring for the dogs and anticipating potential issues before they arose, which required closely observing behavior, understanding individual temperaments, and responding to dogs’ needs in a busy, public environment. I’ve grown up with animals my entire life bunnies, gerbils, cats, and dogs and caring for them has always come naturally to me. At any gathering, I’m usually the one sitting with the dogs or patiently winning over a shy cat (often with a Churu in hand). I currently have a cat named Griffin, a true diva who has taught me a great deal about patience, trust, and cat communication. Working with her quirks, I successfully leash trained her and gained a strong understanding of feline behavior and play styles. I know how difficult it can be to trust someone new with your furry family member, I’ve been there myself. If it helps everyone feel more comfortable, I’m always happy to do a few meet-and-greets at no charge before a first booking to make sure it’s a good fit for both you and your pet.

I cannot recommend Alanna enough! She looked after my 3.5 year old Lab/Cane Corso rescue, who is incredibly high energy and definitely a high-needs dog. It can be stressful finding someone who can confidently handle a strong, energetic dog, but Alanna was great with my pup and I didn't have to worry. Beyond taking care of my dog, she was flexible and accommodated a last-minute change to our schedule with really clear communication, plus handled an unexpected situation perfectly. And my dog was actually tired after, which is a serious feat. It is such a relief to find a reliable sitter who is highly capable with complex dogs. I will definitely be booking with them again!
Alanna has been so great with our pup! Really communicative and sending us lots of pictures and updates! I’m very grateful that she is so responsive and seems to have so much fun with our Vesper.
Ive known Alanna for many years and have witnessed on many occasions her very loving and caring interactions with not only my GSP, Louie, but all animals she comes into contact with. She has an incredibly calm and patient but firm demeanor that they respond very well to. When she looked after Louie, she took the time to go over our instructions, making sure she understood clearly and kept us updated with messages and pictures. She is reliable, trustworthy and very responsible and I highly recommend her for dog walking and extended animal care.

Schedule
I currently work part time and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to offer morning, afternoon, or evening visits. I have access to a vehicle for reliable transportation.
Where your pet will stay
Safety, trust & environment
Depending on the right fit, we may also be able to provide care in our home. We live in a house with a large fenced backyard and are located next to a fenced dog park. We do have one cat named Griffin, who is comfortable around dogs and has met several. I’m happy to discuss options to ensure a safe and comfortable fit for everyone. We are not able to host cats sadly, Griffin just wouldn’t have it!
