Kelly was terrific and took very good care of our kitties. She went above and beyond when our power went out while we were away. She also kept in touch with us during the entire duration so we knew everything was good at home.

About: I grew up with dogs and cats as a child. As soon as I moved out to Canada, I got my own dog. My kids grew up with all kinds of animals in the house, the animals helped make my house a home. I’ve looked after friends and family pets most of my life and occasionally got paid for it. I took semi retirement early to enjoy life more and work less. I don’t consider caring for a pet a job. I work less the 30 hrs a week so lots of time to care for your pets in your home Lots of exercise, stick to the routine already set up by the owner. Lots of patience as the animal gets to know me and plenty of cuddles along the way. I have experience with seizures and epilepsy

About: I've always loved animals. I have a psych degree, and learning about positive re-enforcement and and training pets to do tricks is my favourite thing. I'm self employed so my schedule is flexible. I am also nomadic, so I'm happy to travel to a new place to care for a pet, and be somewhere new I take time to get to know each animal, their wants and needs, and most importantly, their personalities. My goal is to make any separation from their persons as easy as possible

About: Animals have been my passion and career for over 10 years. My background includes working in dog daycares, veterinary medicine, and animal control, giving me experience with pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. As a stay-at-home mom, I'm home throughout the day and can provide plenty of attention, supervision, and care. I've welcomed many dogs into my home over the years and treat every pet like family. I currently have one dog and three cats, so my only requirement is that visiting dogs are social and comfortable around other animals. I look forward to giving your pet a safe, loving home away from home! As a stay-at-home mom to one child, I have a flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home. This allows me to provide plenty of supervision, attention, potty breaks, and companionship throughout the day, ensuring your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. Your pet will be treated like part of the family while in my care. As a stay-at-home mom, I am home most of the day and can provide regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, feeding, medication administration if needed, and lots of attention. Dogs will have access to a safe, comfortable home environment and plenty of supervised interaction. I have one dog and three cats, so I only accept dogs that are social and comfortable around other animals. My goal is to make your pet feel relaxed, loved, and at home while you're away.

About: Caring for animals has been a meaningful part of my life for many years, and I approach pet sitting with the same attentiveness and responsibility I would want for my own pets. I was a devoted dog owner for 14 years to my beloved beagle, caring for her through every stage of life — from daily exercise and enrichment to senior care and comfort. That experience shaped my understanding of how important patience, consistency, and emotional awareness are when looking after animals. I’m experienced with small dogs and cats and comfortable managing feeding routines, walks, playtime, administering basic care, and providing companionship so pets feel secure while their owners are away. I pay close attention to each pet’s personality and needs, whether they’re energetic and playful or more relaxed and independent. My goal is always to create a calm, safe environment where pets can stick to their routines and feel at ease. I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and communicative, and I treat every home with respect and care. I work primarily from home on my laptop, so my schedule is flexible and I’m generally present for much of the day. This allows me to maintain your pet’s usual feeding, medication, walking, playtime, and bedtime routines while providing regular companionship. I do leave the home for errands, appointments, personal activities, and occasionally other scheduled pet-care visits. Before accepting a booking, I’ll confirm how long your pet can comfortably be left alone to ensure their needs are compatible with my schedule. My days are typically calm and structured, making my care especially suitable for pets that enjoy a relaxed environment and consistent routine. While I’m happy to accommodate reasonable care requirements, pets needing continuous supervision or who cannot be left alone should be discussed before booking. I provide house sitting in your pet’s own home, where they can remain comfortable in familiar surroundings. I work from home, so I’m generally present and attentive throughout the day while still coming and going for errands and appointments. For overnight stays, I require a clean, sanitary, and reasonably tidy home with a comfortable sleeping space prepared before my arrival. This includes freshly laundered bed linens, clean towels, and access to a clean bathroom and functional kitchen. Essential utilities and appliances must be working, and doors, windows, fences, and gates must be secure. Housekeeping or preparing the home for my stay is not included in the pet-sitting service. Please disclose any household concerns, maintenance issues, indoor cameras, or areas that are off-limits before the booking. I also require an honest and complete description of each pet’s health, temperament, routines, training, and behaviour. Pets should be reasonably clean, and the home must be free from fleas, bedbugs, or other infestations. Any history of aggression, biting, resource guarding, escape behaviour, separation anxiety, or indoor accidents must be disclosed before I accept the booking. Clear care instructions, emergency contacts, adequate food and supplies, and current veterinary information must be provided. My goal is to give your pets calm, consistent care while treating your home responsibly and respectfully.

Just ask! 💊 Medical & special needs welcome: medication, anxiety, rehab, we have cared for many dogs with special needs and welcome them with open arms. ⚠️ One limit: we have our own dog at home, and for both house sits and boarding, your pup will be sharing space with her so we're not able to take aggressive or reactive dogs. We're present, engaged, and genuinely happy to have the company! We're active, outdoorsy people who build daily walks and training into our own routine every single day. Our personal dog gets a minimum 1-hour training session and a 1-hour walk daily and your pup benefits from that same structured, enriching environment. A few things to note: 🔸️Frequent potty breaks available throughout the day as needed 🔸️Minimum 1 hour of exercise daily — weekends can reach up to 6 hours outdoors 🔸️🔸️ Bookings over 1 week require a trial daycare or boarding visit first to ensure a great fit for everyone 🚫 Please note we are not accepting reactive dogs at this time as we have our own gentle pup who we want to keep feeling safe and confident. We do have a loaner that fits medium breeds We provide a calm, structured, and loving space where your dog can truly settle in. We live in a house with a fully fenced yard plenty of room to run, sniff, and play. There's also a large open field nearby where we regularly play frisbee and enjoy off-leash style fun in a safe setting. Your dog's comfort and safety is always the priority: 🔸️Obedience training experience from puppy to senior, we understand dog behaviour deeply and practice it daily 🔸️Crate training experience available if your dog uses one at home 🔸️Dogs are welcome on the couch and bed if that's their thing we want them to feel at home 🔸️Toys, water bowls, food bowls, and an extra leash are all here waiting 🔸️Medication administration and special needs are no problem 📷 we provide updates and photos so you have piece of mind. 🚫 We never walk dogs off leash. This is a firm safety policy, no exceptions.

About: I have had pets my entire life: a German Shepard Husky growing up, and now I have a cat that I adopted from the SPCA (my second). I love pets and they love me. I also know the difficulty that comes with having to travel and leaving your pet and often your house in the care of another person. I am respectful, responsible, kind and considerate when it comes to animals and other peoples' homes. I currently am available any day for pet sitting, and am willing to stay overnight to also take care of your house and treat your pet and house with the same care that I take with my cat and my house. Unfortunately I do not have a fenced yard so cannot have pets in my house. I am happy to care for your pet in your home whether it means dropping by to feed and clean up and spend some quality time with them, or staying over night if needed if you are going on a longer trip.

About: Hey! I’m a Veterinary Assistant with 4 years of experience working in clinic. This has taught me many valuable skills including post surgical / wound care, administration of various medications, dietary needs, and many other pet caring skills. I also have spent a great deal of time caring for my own elderly doggy who recently passed from cancer. This in conjunction with my training has given me a great deal of experience working with high need pets who require complicated care. I’ve also done some casual cat and dog sitting for family, friends, and coworkers. Since my own doggie passed I have been missing my pet time and thought this would be the perfect way to get my fix! :) This September I’ll be going into full time school, as a student I will need to be on the VIU campus for 2-8 hours daily on weekdays. I’ll be available for pet care before and after class, and all day on weekends. :) As someone who has worked with pets of all kinds with varying medical and physical needs you can rest assured that I will have both the skills and knowledge to give your pet the absolute best care!

About: I’ve had dogs since I was a child. I treat animals with respect. I have little well train dog from Mexico. Learning to train her has given me more confidence to handle other dogs. I’ve foster dogs several times and loved it. Your dog will be loved well cared for ❤️ Walks are in the morning (7am-10:30) and after 3 pm. One hour long and with or without my dogs company. Depends of the preference of the other dog. I follow the instructions that the owners leave as each dog has its own routine and it’s important to keep them on that schedule. Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
