“Our pups just love Serena! I am a worry wort mom when away and Serena makes sure she stays in touch and sends pics so I know the dogs are being well taken care of. She is an excellent communicator, kind and trustworthy. I am very glad we found her and we all look forward to her visits”

“Moira was great with our elderly cat who required twice daily medication doses over a 10 day period. She is extremely reliable and very diligent. When she had a concern, she contacted us right away. She met our cat where she was at and was very respectful of her aloofness. Thanks Moira!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets for the last 10 years for friends, family and word of mouth. I had a dog throughout my childhood and now love to fill my time with furry friends. I would love to walk, board or stay at your home with your pets. I have walked and looked after any age and any size of pets. I currently am working very part time so I have lots of time to spend with your pets. I am available all days! I have lots of time in the mornings and afternoons to take your pets out for a long walk if that’s what they want! I have a large unfenced backyard but a large deck that is closed off. There is lots of space for your dog to explore around my yard though! And I am always with them outside so don’t worry about them. I also love to stay at your place to make your pets feel at home still.
“Thank you so much for taking care of Fanta. We had an unexpected family emergency to take care of on the mainland and knowing Fanta was in good hands took so much stress off of us.”

“Jillian is such a sweetheart, and my girl Roxy really seems to like her. She stayed with Roxy while my partner and I went out for dinner as Roxy has separation anxiety and Roxy was chill and slept while we were gone! Would recommend Jillian to anyone!”
About: I am a retired lady who loves to get out for nature walks. I adore dogs of any breed and would love them like they were my family. I’m retired so I’m able to take care of your pet Monday thru Sunday and almost any hours that work for you. Please let me know what you need. I am able to take care of your pet at your home or mine but they will need to be on a leash at my home as I don’t have a fenced area yet.
“I can't say enough about how professional and caring Shelby was during her visits with my two cats while I was away in England. It was such a relief knowing that someone who truly cares about animals was watching over my "little ones". Thank you Shelby.”

About: Your fur baby will enjoy plenty of exercise as we love hiking, running, and playing! I am dedicated to keeping your doggo happy, active, and so loved while you are away 💕 Caring for pets is an integral part of my daily and weekly routine. I understand that pets need routine and structure, and I ensure that they are well-cared for while their owners are away. I make sure to feed them on the schedule they are accustomed to, provide them with plenty of water, and give them regular exercise and playtime to keep them physically and mentally healthy. I also prioritize daily check-ins to track any potential signs of illness or discomfort and provide them with any needed attention. As a professional pet sitter, I maintain clear communication with pet owners, keeping them regularly informed about their pet's well-being through updates and photos. I make sure to adjust my schedule as necessary based on the needs of the pets in my care to provide them with the best possible care. When I take on the responsibility of a pet, I make sure they are given ample time, attention, and care, just like they are one of my own. I offer both in-home pet sitting services as well as caring for pets in my own home. Regardless of location, I provide a comfortable and nurturing environment where pets feel safe and secure. In my home, I have a designated space for pets that is cozy and stress-free, with ample space for exploring and playing. When caring for pets in my client's home, I make sure to familiarize myself with the pet's daily routine to ensure minimal disruption to their lives. I follow any specific instructions provided by the pet owner regarding feeding, medication, and exercise requirements, and provide additional playtime and attention to ensure that the pets feel loved and happy. I also ensure that their living space is clean, orderly, and hygienic, with fresh water and food available at all times. I keep spaces free from potential safety hazards, including cords, small objects, and any toxic substances. I am always considerate of any behavioral or medical needs that a pet may have, and can offer extra care and support if required. Overall, I prioritize the comfort, happiness, and safety of pets in my care, and work hard to provide them with the same love and attention that they receive from their owners.
“Kira was absolutely wonderful with my little girl Lucy. This was my first time using Rovers services with Kira for an extended period of time over the holidays. I was able to rest easy knowing Kira was there everyday at the same time spending quality time with her. Kira sent photos of Lucy daily keeping me updated on her well being and while sitting and playing with her. I came home to a very happy and well taken care of kitty. Lucy bonded so well with Kira! Kira was extraordinarily professional at all times throughout her time taking care of Lucy and I will absolutely consult with her again in the future.”

“Kelly was terrific and took very good care of our kitties. She went above and beyond when our power went out while we were away. She also kept in touch with us during the entire duration so we knew everything was good at home.”

Janice is very kind and our Stella pup was well cared for during the booked drop in visits. Janice provided many photos and update details for each visit. Janice communicated with us promptly when we had questions about our booking. We would definitely book with her again!

Moira did an excellent job taking care of our cats. She was punctual and reliable and from the pictures she sent it was obvious that the Oscar & Oliver easily connected to her. Our house was left in a pristine condition. I can recommend her services without a moment's hesitation.

There are 376 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Ladysmith. About 85% of Ladysmith sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Ladysmith stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ladysmith choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
