“Lindsey is amazing and took incredible care of our boy. He played sooooooooo much! He fell asleep as soon as we walked in the door. 5 out of 5. Would like and subscribe if I could. Amazing.”

“Amy has taken excellent care of Arlo. He returned a very happy dog, because he received good attention from both Amy and her daughter. He was out at the dog park, which he loved!”

“Bentley had an excellent stay with Lauren and Andy with plenty of walks and no end of fun. It was easy to tell that he was enjoying himself because he got so tired and was ready to sleep at night without a problem. Lauren also sent us daily reports on what had happened together with photos and some videos and we were most happy to get the regular updates An excellent experience”

About: I have had a dog or taken care of dogs since I was a little girl. Family, neighbours and friends have all relied on me to help take care of their pets for many years. I am a huge animal lover and a health care worker and will always provide the best and safest care for your pup. Recently I have fostered some dogs through a local rescue and helped them find their new home. I have learned alot about behaviours and training with these pups. We love to play in the yard or go for walks, and have lots of snuggles on the couch :) I currently work part time so have lots of time available to spend with your dog! My flexible schedule allows me to board your pet overnight any day of the week, or drop in for visits/walks. I have a fenced back yard and two small dogs to keep your fur baby company! Your dog is welcome to treat our home as their own and I will give them lots of love and be devoted to their happiness and well being while you are away.
“Amazing! This was my first time leaving Lucca with a pet sitter and so I was fairly nervous. Haley and Mark were amazing. Lucca needs at least 3 or so good walks/runs each week to be at his best and Haley and Mark delivered! I received regular updates with pictures and Lucca looked so happy. I also worried that Lucca could come home with some undesirable new behaviour but Haley and Mark were respectful of the rules we have for him and Lucca came back to us just as we left him. Haley and Mark are great. I highly recommend them and I will certainly consider them.firat if I need a dog sitter again.”

“Sjako and his family took wonderful care of our little Emilio. His kids were so sweet and gentle with our dog and they took Emilio out for a hike as well. We appreciated the great communication and the photos of our dog while we were away. Thanks so much!”

“My dog Odis was well taken care of. When we came back after 2 weeks he was very happy and healthy. He became part of their family and fit in very well. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him.”

“Maggie was with Terry for a week and I usually worry because she is anxious around new people and being left but what a time she had! She seemed like she didn’t want to come home when I went to pick her up. She had lots of walks and off leash park time and playing in the yard; lots of cuddle time it seems. She even took to Jim, Terry’s husband right away- not one bark. It was an awesome experience for both of us. Thank you Terry for taking such great care of our Maggie ❤️ we’ll be back soon!”

“We left Kroshk in the care of Kelly and Natalie and were super happy. They have great strategies to introduce new dogs to their home and dogs and made our pup feel super comfortable. We received many updates of Kroshka having fun as well. I would rebook without hesitation, thank you!”

“Jessica was great with Kira! I felt confident in leaving her there, she was very quick in responding and Kira was happy after a couple of days with Jessica. Its great she has a fenced yard where dogs can roam around safely.”

“Yuet did a great job with my dog. We had regular updates on how he was doing with lots of pictures and videos. I would highly recommend Yuet for taking care of your furry friend.”

“Susan and Robin had our old guy Porter for 2 weeks and they were absolutely fantastic! They were more than happy to take on the added work that comes with an older dog and were careful to understand his needs and limitations. Porter came back happy, healthy and even made a few new play buddies along the way!”

“Mickey came home from his overnight stay with Janice and Bear completely exhausted. The dogs played nonstop so Mickey was in his glory. A tired dog is a happy dog! Thanks Janice and Bear!!”

“This was Leroy's first stay with Karin and her family. I am really impressed how warm and welcoming they were to both Leroy and I, and what good care they took of him. Karin sent messages and photos every day and he clearly enjoyed his stay. I highly recommend Karin.”

“A big shout out to Sylvie-Ann and Stephane for the wonderful care of Huxley. Huxley has a few little issues and they made sure he was comfortable and happy. Their little Yorkshire Lilou (4lbs) and my 95lb Pitty cross enjoyed each other’s company. Lol. Thank you so much for taking care and hope to see you soon.”
“Tyler was amazing. Kita loved her time with him, as evidenced by all the wonderful photos we received of her stay. Would highly recommend Tyler and Kita will be visiting him again soon.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ladysmith
Janice was wonderful with my small dog, Buko! I am nervous leaving him with dogsitters typically because he is an anxious and sensitive dog. Janice took great care of my pup and sharing lots of photos and videos of him during their adventures. She reassured me that Buko was doing well because a tired dog (returning from a long hike) is a well-behaved dog! Definitely recommend :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
