“Marcy was the best! Not only did she watch our Moose but she also gave him all the love he could ask for! Marcy kept us up to date on their adventures and made sure to send over lots of pictures. We will definitely be dropping moose off with Marcy again! Thanks again!”

“As always, Lauren is amazing with Milanesa. She is so happy staying with her and her family. Milanesa has so much fun and feels very loved every time she stays with Lauren. We will definitely repeat next time.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life. We had Golden Retrievers and a Shepard growing up and now I have my own fur baby who is a Chocolate Lab named Arthur. I’ve worked in the pet industry for many years from retail, assisting in a Vet clinic and a Sales Rep for a pet product company. I have a lot of free weekends and what better way to spend that extra time than to spend it with dogs! Please keep in mind I do have a dog that would also be in the home so your dog must be okay with other dogs. I believe in a healthy balance of exercise and down time. I will typically do 1-2 walks a day, play in the back yard and down time with lots of cuddles. I would also like to mention, that If you have a shy or senior dog that likes a calm environment then this is your place!
“Kelly and Natalie are just fantastic dog sitters! They took excellent care of both our dogs, including regular fun walks, with the pictures to prove it. We were actually concerned our dogs wouldn’t want to come home again!”

“Lindsey was amazing, Bumper loved being there and was happy and a good tired coming home.. was so flexible on short notice too! Will definitely recommend and will definitely use Lindsey again :)”

“Maggie was with Terry for a week and I usually worry because she is anxious around new people and being left but what a time she had! She seemed like she didn’t want to come home when I went to pick her up. She had lots of walks and off leash park time and playing in the yard; lots of cuddle time it seems. She even took to Jim, Terry’s husband right away- not one bark. It was an awesome experience for both of us. Thank you Terry for taking such great care of our Maggie ❤️ we’ll be back soon!”

“Tyler is a wonderful human being and the dog whisperer for sure - he’s caring, professional, a great communicator- it was the first time I had ever left my little dog, Elton John. Tyler made it a seamless process from drop off to pick up. And he was accommodating- I took the later ferry and he stayed up, gave me a detailed account of Elton’s experience- I appreciated all of it. I will definitely book with him again- I don’t think Elton wanted to leave! Thank you Tyler- you’re the best! 🐶”

“Joanne watched our two golden retrievers (12 years and 7 months) for 10 days and took fabulous care of them. She was a pro with their feeding and medical needs and was very patient with a trouble making puppy that had some trouble sleeping at night. She kept in constant contact and sent pictures of their daily adventures. I appreciate all the love she gave our boys, they did not want to get in the van when we picked them up as they had so much fun. Highly recommended Joanne!”

“I would happily recommend Montana to anyone who is looking for a dog sitter. She sent us videos and pictures that showed our dog having a great time. She took our dog out for wonderful nature walks and our dog got along with hers very well.”

“Douglas and Janice are a kind and caring couple. They took great care of Sam and I do not hesitate in recommending them and I will definitely leave Sam in their tender care in the future.”

“Susan was great! She took such great care of Hazel! I try to take Hazel with us when we travel but when I can’t I feel comfortable leaving her with Susan and plan to again in the future. Susan is very accommodating and takes such good care of your dog it’s like they are at home and you don’t need to worry about them.”

“My wife and I were facing a health emergency and needed a dog sitter on short notice. Paula was very accommodating in helping us make a booking for our dog Auggie through Rover.com. Paula's professionalism allowed me to attend to my wife's medical issue without any additional worries about Auggie, who is like another family member to us. When I dropped off Auggie, Paula gave me a tour of the large, fenced-in backyard where Auggie could roam without fear of escaping. Despite the sudden change in her surroundings, Auggie appeared quite happy and contented when I picked her up after the three-day visit. I would not hesitate to book Paula again if we need a Dog Sitter in the future.”

“I have a badly behaved cat and an old cat—and Yuet Pao took perfect care of both of them! I don’t think they wanted to come home. Both seem to have fallen in love with her. I am a very happy Cat Mom!”

“Lily loved spending the day with Rebecca and her two pups! Rebecca asked all the questions and sent me updates through the day and was super flexible with my booking. I would book with Rebecca again!”

“Truffle had such a wonderful experience and was so well cared for! He came back in such a good mood and definitely picked up some wisdom from the two elderly doggos! Thank you Amy and Ellie! :)”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Nanaimo
Jenn and Adam were great! Our very active lab came home tired and very happy. They worked with our dog’s (sometimes intense) prey drive and got her out for lots of exercise and adventures. They are very knowledgeable about dogs and took such good care of our girl. Would highly recommend!

I'm soo happy that Ariel was able to watch my dog Cinnamon for a few days on pretty short notice. He kept me up to date on how it was going and provided pictures. Ariel also let me know that he was concerned that she wasn't eating much, but I said not to worry (it was hot those days and she isn't the biggest eater anyways). He has a lovely backyard to run and play!! Thank you 😊

We knew our Chips was safe and well cared for with Diana so we could leave him over night without worry to go out of town - she sent us a picture of him all snuggled in so we knew he was safe and secure and not anxious even though he is a little anxious all the time :)

We had a wonderful experience leaving our dogs with Karuna for the week! She was incredibly sweet, friendly and made us feel comfortable from the moment we dropped them off at her home. Her apartment is thoughtfully set up for pets and it was clear they were in a safe and caring environment. She did a great job managing our dogs’ medications, communicated with us throughout their stay and sent lots of photos and updates. We especially loved seeing pictures of them out on regular walks, which gave us peace of mind that they were getting plenty of exercise and attention. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter!

Tiffany was absolutely amazing! She accepted a rather long visit on very short notice and was so kind, understanding, and accommodating throughout the entire process. Finley had such a great time with her and came back happy and comfortable. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

My dog Penny had an amazing stay with Kim! I received lots of updates to let me know how my dog was doing and Penny thrived in such a loving and warm environment. I will 1000% be booking Kim again for my next trip- it is so great to have such peace of mind while away!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
