“Ollie was very well taken care of by Lindsey and her family. The kids are so sweet and told us that they didn’t want him to leave. Lindsey was very welcoming and had Ollie meet their friendly two dogs before we left. It’s good to be able to leave and not have to worry! Lindsey was very helpful with arrangements to drop him off earlier. We will book him with Lindsey again.”

“Shawneen and family were terrific with our Joey.He felt right at home there and we were kept updated as how he was doing. Definitely recommend Shawneen to look after your pet.Lots of love and attention...”
“We were a little concerned about leaving our boys as Haley and Mark, with our prior permission, had also agreed to take two other dogs at the same time and one of them didn’t like one of ours. But things went really well, and Haley and Mark made sure to keep us informed as how everyone was doing and put our fears to rest! We would certainly use them again, paws down! ☺️🐾”

“Lauren and Andy and their dog Zeus were very welcoming to my dog Robby. They were caring and diligent and very flexible. I would certainly recommend them to anyone, and look forward to using their services again.”

“Marcy is absolutely the best. She took excellent care of my dog for 4 weeks which I had never left her that long. This is a doggie daycare with love and affection. I received pictures and updated anytime I needed which made my time away from her stress free. She gets to know your dog and makes their stay comfortable. I will definitely see you again Marcy. With Love Chloe 💕💕”

“Maggie was with Terry for a week and I usually worry because she is anxious around new people and being left but what a time she had! She seemed like she didn’t want to come home when I went to pick her up. She had lots of walks and off leash park time and playing in the yard; lots of cuddle time it seems. She even took to Jim, Terry’s husband right away- not one bark. It was an awesome experience for both of us. Thank you Terry for taking such great care of our Maggie ❤️ we’ll be back soon!”

“My dog Odis was well taken care of. When we came back after 2 weeks he was very happy and healthy. He became part of their family and fit in very well. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him.”

“Amazing!!!! I could tell Charlie felt so welcomed and loved for his stay. I will definitely leave Charlie with Kelly and Natalie again. In fact he’s already booked!”

“Really happy with the dog care service . super friendly and clearly loves dogs. My pup comes back clean, happy, and tired (in a good way!). They even send little updates and pics, which I love. Definitely feels like my dog is in good hands.”

“Coraline & Valentin were extremely patient and kind towards my dog. He can be a lot to manage but they were very communicative and asked a lot of important questions to learn how to care for him. Would recommend!”

“Dorothy was very good. She kept me advised everyday of my dog and how he was doing. Very professional and caring. I definitely would use her services again. I highly recommend Dorothy.”

“Tyler is an extremely attentive and dedicated boarder. It was evident the effort he went to to ensure our dog was comfortable, loved, and well cared for. We felt so lucky to have him care for our senior dog!”

About: My partner and I travel often so we aren't ready for a dog of our own. But we love to dog sit for our friends. We've taken care of small and big dogs from Pomeranians to St. Bernese. My family dog growing up was a border collie. He joined us as a puppy when I was 11 years old, so caring for dogs, especially high energy breeds, is second nature. I work from home so I can keep a close eye on your dogs needs. It also means I have a flexible schedule for pick up and drop offs. At least two walks a day and I let them outside whenever they want so they can enjoy the fenced back yard. In the spring and summer I like to bring my laptop outside and join them.
“I can’t say enough about how amazing Moka’s visit was with Joanne. She quickly became friends with Joanne’s big pup and went on adventures every day! Joanne sent daily pictures to finish off each day and treated Moka like her own! I’m sure Moka cannot wait for her next stay with Joanne.”

“Susan and Robin had our old guy Porter for 2 weeks and they were absolutely fantastic! They were more than happy to take on the added work that comes with an older dog and were careful to understand his needs and limitations. Porter came back happy, healthy and even made a few new play buddies along the way!”

“Wow….Jadyn is by far the best puppy sitter we have ever had. She treated our guy like her own and he was spoiled with hikes and walks almost daily….he is probably wishing he could go back! We are so grateful and were so comfortable leaving Opie in her care. She made things easy with top notch communication as well as the daily photos opportunities. Thanks Jadyn…..we will be calling you again!”

I am very pleased with the care Dorothy provided my boy for a few days as I had to go to Vancouver for some personal needs. I got daily updates along with photos and my dog had a blast, enjoyed her yard and overall I think I was more anxious about the situation than my anxious dog was. Would highly recommend her for your fur babies and I will likely utilize Dorothy for future dog care as I'd like my boy to build a small on going relationship with his care giver while I am away. Thanks for everything Dorothy! We really appreciated it.

Tiffany was absolutely amazing! She accepted a rather long visit on very short notice and was so kind, understanding, and accommodating throughout the entire process. Finley had such a great time with her and came back happy and comfortable. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

Rebecca is amazing! Frankie stayed with Rebecca and her pack for 2 nights and she treated him like one of her own. Walks in the woods, lots of cuddles and he even got to sleep on the bed with her and her dogs Hunter and Todd. I had no worries that our Frankie was in good hands. He came home happy, tired and well cared for.

Our 11 year old, Jinx, boarded with Joanne shortly after losing her bonded brother. Within 24hrs, she was relaxed and having fun with her new routine. Joanne is clearly fabulous with dogs and we expect Jinx will 'go on vacation' many more times. Thank you Joanne! 💕

My dog Penny had an amazing stay with Kim! I received lots of updates to let me know how my dog was doing and Penny thrived in such a loving and warm environment. I will 1000% be booking Kim again for my next trip- it is so great to have such peace of mind while away!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
