“Marci is fabulous with my dogs. Completely spoiled. I got pictures and videos of them and they had a great time. Highly recommend her for you dog sitter. We will definitely use her again.”

“As always, Lauren is amazing with Milanesa. She is so happy staying with her and her family. Milanesa has so much fun and feels very loved every time she stays with Lauren. We will definitely repeat next time.”

“Adam was so amazing with our two dogs on a last minute boarding request! One of our dogs is a younger rescue who is a bit more reserved and has never been boarded, and he was so great with both of them. Hikes, playing, car rides and they both came home exhausted and happy, which is always great! Highly recommend, will book again.”

“Maggie was with Terry for a week and I usually worry because she is anxious around new people and being left but what a time she had! She seemed like she didn’t want to come home when I went to pick her up. She had lots of walks and off leash park time and playing in the yard; lots of cuddle time it seems. She even took to Jim, Terry’s husband right away- not one bark. It was an awesome experience for both of us. Thank you Terry for taking such great care of our Maggie ❤️ we’ll be back soon!”

“Robert looked after our two dogs and did an amazing job. He communicated while we were gone and when the dogs returned home they were happy and tired from exercise…and clean! We really appreciate the excellent care.”

“Jaydyn was awesome, so warm and friendly and did a great job of sending pics and updates. She was also very flexible and accommodating as we had some uncertainty in our drop off and pick up times. Our dog came back happy and healthy. Thanks so much Jaydyn! 😁”

“I could not have asked for a better sitter for my little Ally, than Dorothy. She was kind and caring to Ally. She updated me daily as to how Ally was doing and how well she was adjusting. I highly recommend Dorothy and will definitely use her services again in the future.”

“Rainbow stayed with Amy and her family for a week. We can tell rainbow enjoyed her stay. Would recommend. Also the daily pictures were a nice touch. Will definitely e re booking in the near future.”

“Tyler is an extremely attentive and dedicated boarder. It was evident the effort he went to to ensure our dog was comfortable, loved, and well cared for. We felt so lucky to have him care for our senior dog!”

“Joanne was amazing she took care of my dog for a week and he was spoiled. She went above and beyond and is very accommodating. You couldn't find a better sitter for my dog.”

“Really happy with Sharons wonderful care of my dog Lenny. She sent me multiple updates each day and photos of his walks and naps. He seemed very happy when I picked him up and she was genuinely invested in his needs and care. I hope to use her again and would absolutely recommend her to other people in need of pet care.”
“Ollie was very well taken care of by Lindsey and her family. The kids are so sweet and told us that they didn’t want him to leave. Lindsey was very welcoming and had Ollie meet their friendly two dogs before we left. It’s good to be able to leave and not have to worry! Lindsey was very helpful with arrangements to drop him off earlier. We will book him with Lindsey again.”

“Jessica was able to watch Fat Boi on short notice. She was amazing for keeping us posted while we traveled and his being so well taken care of made the trip less stressful. Would highly recommend.”

“Lily loved spending the day with Rebecca and her two pups! Rebecca asked all the questions and sent me updates through the day and was super flexible with my booking. I would book with Rebecca again!”

“My dog Odis was well taken care of. When we came back after 2 weeks he was very happy and healthy. He became part of their family and fit in very well. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him.”

“Clover had the best time while we were away for 10 days. Montana took her on lots of off leash hikes, swimming in the river, and sent us photo and video updates everyday. Clover and Rune got along really well and looked like best buds playing chase. This was the perfect situation for our pup and we couldn't be happier. Will definitely be looking to have Clover stay with Montana again.”

“Lexi stayed with Susan and Robin for four nights whilst we were at a family wedding in Vancouver. She was very well cared for and I would not hesitate to leave her in their capable hands in the future. Thank you so much! Alex & Ian”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Nanaimo
We knew our Chips was safe and well cared for with Diana so we could leave him over night without worry to go out of town - she sent us a picture of him all snuggled in so we knew he was safe and secure and not anxious even though he is a little anxious all the time :)

We had a wonderful experience leaving our dogs with Karuna for the week! She was incredibly sweet, friendly and made us feel comfortable from the moment we dropped them off at her home. Her apartment is thoughtfully set up for pets and it was clear they were in a safe and caring environment. She did a great job managing our dogs’ medications, communicated with us throughout their stay and sent lots of photos and updates. We especially loved seeing pictures of them out on regular walks, which gave us peace of mind that they were getting plenty of exercise and attention. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter!

Tiffany was absolutely amazing! She accepted a rather long visit on very short notice and was so kind, understanding, and accommodating throughout the entire process. Finley had such a great time with her and came back happy and comfortable. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the animals she looks after. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

My dog Penny had an amazing stay with Kim! I received lots of updates to let me know how my dog was doing and Penny thrived in such a loving and warm environment. I will 1000% be booking Kim again for my next trip- it is so great to have such peace of mind while away!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
