“Jessica was incredibly caring, patient, and understanding with our shy dog, Sawyer. She knew exactly how to help him feel comfortable and at home during his overnight stay. Sawyer got lots of exercise, had a great time playing, and came home happy and relaxed. Jessica also sent us photos and updates throughout his stay, which we really appreciated and made us feel at ease. I would highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for someone trustworthy to care for their furry family member!”

“Rainbow stayed with Amy and her family for a week. We can tell rainbow enjoyed her stay. Would recommend. Also the daily pictures were a nice touch. Will definitely e re booking in the near future.”

“Maggie was with Terry for a week and I usually worry because she is anxious around new people and being left but what a time she had! She seemed like she didn’t want to come home when I went to pick her up. She had lots of walks and off leash park time and playing in the yard; lots of cuddle time it seems. She even took to Jim, Terry’s husband right away- not one bark. It was an awesome experience for both of us. Thank you Terry for taking such great care of our Maggie ❤️ we’ll be back soon!”

“As always, Lauren is amazing with Milanesa. She is so happy staying with her and her family. Milanesa has so much fun and feels very loved every time she stays with Lauren. We will definitely repeat next time.”

“Vinny is very attached to me and it’s difficult sometimes to leave him, but I can tell he absolutely loved staying with Susan and Robin. He was very comfortable and relaxed when I picked him up. I 100% recommend booking with them if you need a sitter. Amazing people with amazing energy!”

“Marcy sent lots of videos and pictures during an overnight stay which was great to see our dogs interacting and having fun with other dogs. They had a great time and Marcy clearly had a passion for dogs of all kinds. She has a great location and nice space set up as well. Thanks so much Marcy!”

“We had a fantastic experience with Lindsey! Her communication was great and Raymond was immediately comfortable and excited to be at her home. He came home very happy and tired out from lots of play.”

“Doug and Janice fortunately were able to take Bailey, our Maltese Bailey, on short notice for day time sitting at their home allowing us to attend the 3 day Beachfest concert at Parksville. Bailey is anxious to be away from home but they were very warm and loving to him and he relaxed and was walked and played with by two people who really know their stuff and love dogs like if they were their own. Well definitely will be booking Bailey with them again.”

“Tazzy had a great time staying with Jessica and I felt confident that she was being well cared for. Lots of texts, pics and videos sent to keep me updated on how things were going so I could relax, enjoy my trip and not worry about my fur baby.”

“My dog Odis was well taken care of. When we came back after 2 weeks he was very happy and healthy. He became part of their family and fit in very well. Thank you so much for taking such good care of him.”

“Paula kept in touch with me as requested so I could hear and see how Lucy was. Lucy came back happy and healthy from her stay. Paula provides a safe and quiet environment which I really appreciate. I would highly recommend Paula as a sitter for your dog.”

“Emma took wonderful care of Tisha! She kept us updated, sent photos, and was very attentive to his needs and routine. Tisha seemed happy and comfortable with her and her family. We really appreciated how caring and responsible Emma was. Thank you so much for taking such good care of Tisha! We would definitely be happy to have Tisha stay with Emma again. 😊🐶”

“I'm soo happy that Ariel was able to watch my dog Cinnamon for a few days on pretty short notice. He kept me up to date on how it was going and provided pictures. Ariel also let me know that he was concerned that she wasn't eating much, but I said not to worry (it was hot those days and she isn't the biggest eater anyways). He has a lovely backyard to run and play!! Thank you 😊”

“Yuet Pao took such great care of our little Kibou. This was our first time leaving our kitten and we couldn't be happier to have found someone so attentive to our girl. We have never used this service before and I highly recommend Yuet Pao to any other fur parent looking for someone to watch their animal. We received regular messages with updates and pictures during her stay and we will make sure to book again next time we are out of town. Thanks again!”

“Coraline and Valentin were wonderful! Friendly, flexible, compassionate, and obviously Robby was very comfortable with them. Thank you! Hopefully we'll see you again!”

“We left Kroshk in the care of Kelly and Natalie and were super happy. They have great strategies to introduce new dogs to their home and dogs and made our pup feel super comfortable. We received many updates of Kroshka having fun as well. I would rebook without hesitation, thank you!”

“We left our two large senior dogs with Joanne for three weeks and were so pleased with the wonderful care Joanne and her daughter Jessica gave the old pups. Both dogs have their age-related infirmities and meds (14 year old Lab and 10 year old Bernese) and we worried about putting them into care whilst we travelled overseas. We needn’t have worried. Regular updates and photos of walks and evening cuddles from Joanne and her family set our minds at ease. When we picked the pups up they had obviously settled in and were comfortable there. Joanne was very tolerant with our old Lab who has a wide range of health issues. We can’t thank Joanne enough for making our trip possible!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
