“Ryan was great with Bato, taking him for a walk and keeping me up to date with their progress and confirming that he’d put out the bowl of food I left when they got back. I felt confident with Ryan and will use him again for future walks!”

“They were so amazing, can not say good enough things! They took Ellie for two walks. And saved us from being in a tough spot last minute. They were incredible and Ellie loved them! We will definitely use Tania and David again!”

About: I’ve been a dog lover and owner my entire life. Since moving out to Squamish I have been without my pups and I miss having those little balls of joy running around me all the time. I would love to care for your pups like they’re my own and give them all the love and attention they deserve. I am very comfortable with dogs of all kinds and have done multiple training sessions with my own dogs so I am aware of how to handle different situations. I have also previously participated in a dog enrichment program with the Edmonton Humane Society which was so fulfilling and educational. I hope to take all my knowledge and experience and use it towards helping you and your dogs live happy and healthy lives. I currently work full time from home Monday-Friday so getting outside for a walk during the day is a nice refreshment for me. Working from home also gives me the flexibility to watch your dog in the comfort of your home if you require longer duration dog sitting. I am happy to come into your home to spend time with your pup so that they are most comfortable and follow any house rules that you have set. I am also happy to just play with them in your backyard or take them out for a walk, whatever you prefer!
“I called Christina very last minute and she arranged a meet and greet right away and then came the next day for a walk. I was so grateful to have her come and Gus seemed calm and happy when I got home. I would definitely ask her back”

“Deborah was great with my puppy! She spent extra time getting to know my puppy as it was their first meet up. She was punctual, great at communicating and responding quickly, and followed instructions perfectly. I felt very comfortable leaving my puppy in her care and will be requesting her services in the future!”

About: Hey fur friends, I am an animal lover through and through! As an experienced dog trainer & rehabilitation specialist your pets well being is my #1 priority! Growing up I was lucky to always be surrounded by a zoo of animals and started dog walking/ pet sitting at a young age. My schedule is flexible since I work from home with a flex schedule and the rail trail is around the corner from our home with a great dog friendly low traffic swim area just 10 minutes down the trail. Local dogs here are friendly! I rescued my dog from Guatemala. I spent a lot of time rehabilitating/ training him so you would never guess he used to be a street dog! I have many years of experience offering dog training, rehabilitation, boarding and grooming. I foster/rehabilitate animals in need when they find their way to me and spent years volunteering at the SPCA. *Note that when I have a rehab animal I will be marked away from the site. Due to my experience with rehabilitation I am comfortable accepting: • Special needs animals • Rescue animals • Nervous/shy animals (my dog is respectful of space) • Animals who are on meds • Untrained puppies/ kittens • Quirky pets * Let’s chat about your pets unique needs! I offer quality care and often go above and beyond for my clients in order to build trust, safety and community in the fur family club! Im looking forward to hearing from you and your pets! Warm regards, Alyssa I run a private online counselling practice from home so my schedule is flexible. Currently I’m on maternity leave with my baby so we have lots of time for fur friends! My 10 year old dog is gentle and friendly and loves all other animals! I have treat puzzles to share and love teaching old dogs new tricks! :)
“I had an emergency that required me to quickly find someone who could walk my semi-reactive dog while I was visiting the Sunshine Coast. Someone I respected referred me to Cindy's Rover profile. In my initial contact with Cindy she was clearly a mature, confident and experienced dog person who I could trust letting into my place and to care for my dog. She did a great job caring for Tater and when I actually got to meet her it was clear she had the skills to quickly developed a positive, trusting bond with him in a short period of time. I was lucky to find her and she made a stressful situation much less stressful. Thank you, Cindy! Highly recommended!”

“Olivia was wonderful! You could really tell she loves animals! She was patient and kind with my timid dog Bunny and really took the time to get to know both dogs before taking them out. I will most definitely be using her services again!! ?”

About: Responsible, compassionate, middle-aged- chill vibe. I have done temp. care for ponies, horses and cared for my own cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits and tropical fish! Currently I'm very open, time-wise. I'm a student and working part time so lots of flexibility. Looking forward to discussing your and fur baby needs. I like clear instructions of what pets are used to and expect. I also like to know how they are used to interacting outside of the home. (on leash, off leash, good with others). Most pets like routine and I like to help maintain that sense of safety for them. :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sechelt choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

- 87% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
