About: I’m a lifelong dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages and energy levels. I have experience with puppies and basic training, as well as supporting senior dogs with more complex care such as feeding routines, supplements and medication schedules. Dogs have always been part of my life, and today our own dog is a cherished member of our family and my son’s best friend. I understand how much your dog means to you, and I treat every pup in my care as if they were my own. I’m active and love spending time outdoors, so daily walks are something I genuinely enjoy, rain or shine. I offer walks ranging from 15 to 60 minutes and tailor each outing to suit your dog’s breed, age, and energy level, ensuring they get the exercise and attention they need. I provide dependable drop-in visits for potty breaks, feeding, and playtime, perfect for busy workdays or when you’re away. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. Services are available both weekdays and weekends. I take your dog's safety, comfort, and well being very seriously. During walks and visits, I closely monitor their behaviour, energy levels, and surroundings to ensure they are safe, happy, and stress-free. For your peace of mind, I’m happy to send photos and text updates during our time together. I also welcome a meet-and-greet beforehand so you and your dog can feel completely comfortable and confident in my care.
About: I am a dog lover! I’ll care for your dog like my own. Over the years I have been trusted to care for the pets of many family and friends. I am currently self-employed part-time in my own home, so my days are open and flexible to enjoy caring for, walking and playing with dogs. I live on a partially fenced property in a rural area with plenty of space to roam and close to an abundance of amazing trails. I can crate your fur baby if preferred but dogs are welcome in all areas of my home.
About: I have experience caring for dogs and cats of various ages and personalities, including puppies and seniors. I help with feeding, walking, playtime, and daily routines while ensuring pets feel safe and loved. I currently work from home Monday to Friday, which allows me to be present and attentive throughout the day. I can provide regular potty breaks, playtime, feeding, and companionship during working hours. I’m also fully available on weekends and can be flexible to meet your dog’s routine and needs. I make sure dogs are never left alone for long periods and always receive plenty of attention, care, and supervision throughout their stay with us.
“Cristina and Maria were amazing walkers for Skye. I appreciated the questions they asked and they were on time and my parents (where Skye was staying) had nothing but wonderful things to say when they picked up/dropped off Skye.”

About: Phia is a trustworthy, attentive team, ensuring your pets receive consistent care, love, and supervision while you’re away. If Phia's calender is busy please check Jody's profile https://www.rover.com/members/jody-r-because-every-pet-deserves-cuddles/ Phia - I am a 20 year old, responsible animal lover. I was raised around animals and has spent many years assisting with pet care, fostering, and daily training routines. I spent many years working on a local hobby farm, working with dogs, cats, goats, horses and chickens. Through my work on the farm, with the CatNap Society and our own household pets, I have developed a calm, compassionate approach—especially with dogs, cats, horses, shy animals, and senior pets who benefit from gentle handling and quiet companionship. What sets me apart is hands-on training experience, a deep respect for animals, and a calm, confident presence that helps pets feel safe, comfortable, and truly cared for in their own home. Our 24-hour house sitting rate includes potty breaks and playtime. Walks are available at an additional charge per 30 minutes. Phia is a 20 year old adult who is very responsible with her own pet care and works mostly evenings (typically between 4pm-10pm). I can devote the time, attention, and love to caring for pets whenever needed. The activities I do depend on each pet, the weather, and the space available. If there’s a fenced yard and the dog is healthy, we might play fetch or run around outside. On hot or cold days, we’ll enjoy indoor play with toys, practising training commands, or simply relaxing with lots of cuddles if that’s what they prefer. Our goal is always to provide a mix of physical activity and mental stimulation, tailored to each pet’s personality and needs.

About: We have had pets our entire life. Now retired and travel a few months a year, so currently without a pet because of our travels. Missing the love of our own pets (Scruffy lived to 17 and Cedes lived to 16). So we have decided that the love of your pets, would be lovely and would benefit all involved. We live 2 blocks from the beach, which gives the dogs a great run and or swim permitting of course :) My wife and I are both retired and walk to the beach everyday, would be nice to have a dog to walk with us. For the evenings it would be nice to cuddle up to a dog or cat. We live on the bottom floor of a pet friendly building, with access to a yard. We do have a wrap around deck with a 2 foot brick wall/planter that is gated to large partially fenced yard. Pics attached. We both have knowledge of caring for both dogs and cats.

About: Hi love pets, and all kinds not just dogs, I have no problem checking in on any other pets in your house, (fish, lizards, mice, rats, etc!) I’ve always had animals in my life. My main goal is to make sure your pets are happy and healthy. Making sure your pets have what they need and are safe is the top priority for me and I’ll do what I can to achieve that. I am currently working a full-time job 8hrs a day, Friday-Tuesday. This means potty breaks every 8+ hours. While I'm off I have full availability for all adventures needed to keep your pets satisfied! Coming into someone else's home my priorities are to make sure I'm following any house rules, and keeping to the schedule for your pets to stay happy and comfortable while your away.
About: I’m a past pet owner. I've recently looked after my sisters two small dogs for long weekends or a week at a time in BC while they were away. I’ve even looked after a relatives house, 2 Great Danes, 1 med sized dog and a few cats for a couple weeks when I was a kid with my elderly grandmother. Big responsibility! I’ve also looked after a neighbours cat for a couple weeks twice a day for feeds, daily cat litter cleaning, and music turned on and off with cuddle time. I’m bondable! I’ve volunteered and work for police forces over the years so no record etc. I believe animals have souls and need love and to be cared for. I’m willing to go to your home and water, feed and take your fur baby out for bathroom breaks and a cuddle. This will take a load off your mind as well as physically for your fur babies. I may not have years of getting paid and labelled as “professional” but I’m experienced when loving animals and using common sense to look after them and your home. Any questions, just ask. Cheers. I am a mortgage broker and can work from home. This gives me the flexibility to be with your pets mostly around the clock. Taking pets for walks and out door breaks when required. I will obliviously, learn and note what is needed as per the owner of the pet. I will make sure the pet feels loved and not alone while the owner is away. I will look after the residents as well. Pets are fed and watered in a timely manner and working with the owners schedule as required.

I am happy to come to your home to care for your pup, or take her for her walks. My yard is fenced, but my cats are territorial so I couldn't invite your pups over.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Parksville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
