About: I find that pets are much more than just cute animals. They have their own stories to tell and are such beautiful and loving creatures. And that's why I love pets and always take great care of them. I am available most afternoons after 4 pm, evenings and weekends to help with pet sitting, walking and drop in visits to feed your pet if needed. I am new to this app. I have taken care of friend and family pets and are now looking to help others in the community.
“Danielle is such a wonderful cat sitter. Not only did she come in and feed our cat but she spent time with her playing with her and giving her affection. We know when we call her in she will do a fine job enabling us to be worry free while we are away. I would highly recommend Danielle to anyone looking for a pet sitter in the Parksville area.”

“Janean was Amazing!!! She took excellent care of our Mr. Meowzers! She was professional and responsive. She came for a meet and greet beforehand. Our cat loved her company and was excited to see her everyday. Excellent care !! Highly recommended!!”

About: While I'm new to Rover, I bring decades of real-life experience caring for both animals and homes. I'm committed to providing personalized, dependable care while building lasting relationships with the families I serve. I provide professional pet care services on Vancouver Island, BC, in the Okotoks/Calgary area and in communities along my travel route between British Columbia and Alberta throughout the year. If you're looking for a trusted sitter for one-time or recurring care while I'm in your area, I'd love the opportunity to connect. As a lifelong pet owner, I understand that every pet has their own unique personality—from playful and social to shy, independent, anxious or sensitive. I create a calm, predictable environment where pets feel safe, respected and cared for, taking the time to read their cues and build trust at their own pace. I'm experienced caring for puppies, adult and senior pets, as well as pets with special care needs. This includes administering medications, supporting pets with mobility challenges, and providing calm, patient care for anxious, fearful or reactive pets while maintaining the routines that help them feel secure in their own familiar environment. My calm, observant nature allows me to notice subtle changes in behaviour, appetite or energy and I'll always keep you informed so you can enjoy peace of mind while you're away. I understand the trust involved in leaving your beloved pet—and your home—in someone else's care. I bring a reliable, respectful and detail-oriented approach to every booking. For overnight stays, I travel fully equipped with my own portable bed, bedding, towels and cooler, allowing me to settle in comfortably while keeping your home tidy and minimizing disruption. My goal is for both you and your furry family members to feel relaxed, comfortable and confident while you're away, knowing they're receiving compassionate, attentive care every step of the way. Additional Care Needs Please note: My Puppy Rate also applies to pets requiring additional time, attention or specialized care. This may include: 🐾 Puppies requiring frequent potty breaks, training reinforcement or close supervision. 🐾 Senior pets needing extra assistance with mobility, more frequent outings or medication administration. 🐾 Special-needs pets requiring medication, mobility support or individualized care. 🐾 Pets experiencing high anxiety, fearfulness or reactivity who benefit from a calm, patient approach and extra time to build trust. Every pet is unique, and I'm always happy to discuss your pet's specific needs before booking to ensure they receive the level of care they deserve. As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Certified Natural Supplement Advisor, Energy Therapist and Certified Pet First Aid Provider, with ongoing education in Pet Wellness, I bring a unique blend of professional knowledge, practical experience and compassionate, heart-led care—treating every pet as if they were my own. As someone who is location-independent and runs a remote Wholistic Wellness business. I have the flexibility to travel and spend meaningful time with animals in their home. I create a calm, safe environment by following your pet’s routine, offering attentive care and helping them feel secure, settled and supported in your home.

“Rhaya did a fantastic job looking after my little girl Lucy while I was away for a week. She was punctual on her visits and followed my instructions to the letter with feeding times, fresh water changes and litter box cleaning. She played with Lucy and kept her company twice a day which I was so grateful for. Rhaya went out of her way to ensure Lucy was safe, healthy and entertained so as to not feel lonely. She was quick to send photos and updates to ease my mind and always briefed me daily on how she was doing ie.feeding, bathroom and her overall moods. I am very pleased with Rhaya, she was professional and very caring. I would recommend Rhaya to anyone looking for a sitter for their family member while away, they would be in good hands.”

“Jillian is such a sweetheart, and my girl Roxy really seems to like her. She stayed with Roxy while my partner and I went out for dinner as Roxy has separation anxiety and Roxy was chill and slept while we were gone! Would recommend Jillian to anyone!”
“This was our first time using a dog sitter...ever. I was very nervous about leaving our babies with a stranger. I was very glad to do a meet and greet before hand and knew right away that Jilly would be perfect. I felt confident that they were with some who would take really good care of them. We were able to chat, check in. She sent me some photos. I know for sure I will use her again.”

About: Hi love pets, and all kinds not just dogs, I have no problem checking in on any other pets in your house, (fish, lizards, mice, rats, etc!) I’ve always had animals in my life. My main goal is to make sure your pets are happy and healthy. Making sure your pets have what they need and are safe is the top priority for me and I’ll do what I can to achieve that. I am currently working a full-time job 8hrs a day, Friday-Tuesday. This means potty breaks every 8+ hours. While I'm off I have full availability for all adventures needed to keep your pets satisfied! Coming into someone else's home my priorities are to make sure I'm following any house rules, and keeping to the schedule for your pets to stay happy and comfortable while your away.
About: I’m a past pet owner. I've recently looked after my sisters two small dogs for long weekends or a week at a time in BC while they were away. I’ve even looked after a relatives house, 2 Great Danes, 1 med sized dog and a few cats for a couple weeks when I was a kid with my elderly grandmother. Big responsibility! I’ve also looked after a neighbours cat for a couple weeks twice a day for feeds, daily cat litter cleaning, and music turned on and off with cuddle time. I’m bondable! I’ve volunteered and work for police forces over the years so no record etc. I believe animals have souls and need love and to be cared for. I’m willing to go to your home and water, feed and take your fur baby out for bathroom breaks and a cuddle. This will take a load off your mind as well as physically for your fur babies. I may not have years of getting paid and labelled as “professional” but I’m experienced when loving animals and using common sense to look after them and your home. Any questions, just ask. Cheers. I am a mortgage broker and can work from home. This gives me the flexibility to be with your pets mostly around the clock. Taking pets for walks and out door breaks when required. I will obliviously, learn and note what is needed as per the owner of the pet. I will make sure the pet feels loved and not alone while the owner is away. I will look after the residents as well. Pets are fed and watered in a timely manner and working with the owners schedule as required.
About: I am a huge dog lover! I have had dogs my whole life and am super comfortable around them. I've walked dogs on and off for the past 10 years, and I have had my own rescue pooch for 8 years now. I would be more than happy to walk/board your dog when I am available too :) I have a part time job working as a birth and postpartum doula. Needless to say, I am passionate about supporting families; and your furry friend is part of that family. I would love to fill my free time taking care of your pooch. My days can be inconsistent, but if it works with your needs, then count me in! I have a more gentle approach when taking care of dogs. With my dog being a rescue, I learned the importance of building trust and using a calm voice when training. I like to train using positive reinforcement with good treats.
“Hannah took excellent care of my cat Timmy and my new kitten Sylvie. They were calm and happy on our return thanks to her daily visits! Hannah does a great job and is always easy to work with.”

Everything went great with Rana. She was very reliable and took excellent care of my cats while I was away. I was a little nervous to leave my boys only a few months after our big move to the Island, but Rana was very communicative with me and went the extra mile to ensure my cats were well looked after. This gave me great peace of mind. I would highly recommend Rana!

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Parksville stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Parksville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
