About: Lived on a farm, took care of a variety of pets from a young age. Cats, dogs, horses, pigs, chickens, etc. Previous rescue foster for dogs from puppy to senior care through BARS Animal rescue in Alberta. Have my own 6 year old rescue cat Puss Puss whom I recently built a catio for. Just finished doing 13 years in Healthcare, 8 of which were in EMS. Now semi-retired looking for opportunities to care for your fur babies :) Pretty open at the moment. Have reliable transportation to Qualicum, Parksville, Coombs Errington and Nanaimo. Can do mornings, afternoons, early evenings and weekends. For sitting, walks, car rides you name it. My beloved Puss Puss in an indoor kitty, however I built a catio for her so she can safely go outside. I won't be able to board pets, but will happily come to your home if you're going on vacation or need daily feeding and play time with your pets.

About: I have been caring for pets of family and friends since I was a child and always put in the extra time for exercise, mental stimulation, and affection. I have successfully helped puppies complete puppy training and offer caring support to elderly animals and those with special medical needs. I do contract work and have a lot of time off so can be with your pets for extended amounts of time. I live in the forest close to a provincial park I visit regularly and can provide long nature walks for your dogs. While I currently don't have any of my own pets at this time, I will enthusiastically cherish the time I get to spend with yours!

About: Hi, I’m Summer! I love getting dogs out for real walks — fresh air, movement, and a chance to explore. Whether your pup needs a long adventure, a steady-paced stroll, or just a reliable check-in during your busy day, I show up with care and attention every time. I’m easygoing, communicative, and great with all personalities — from shy cats to high-energy pups. Every visit comes with clear updates and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. Your pets deserve someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with them. I’m here to make their day better, and to give you peace of mind while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I work Monday–Wednesday, which gives me plenty of flexibility for weekday walks and drop-ins around my shifts, as well as full availability on Thursdays, Fridays, and sometimes weekends. I love building my days around getting outside, moving, and spending time with animals, so adding walks and check-ins is something I genuinely look forward to. I keep a consistent schedule and always make sure pets get the time and attention they need without rushing. I care for pets in my clients’ homes in a way that keeps their routine consistent, calm, and stress-free. During drop-ins, I follow your instructions exactly — feeding, fresh water, litter care, bathroom breaks, medications, and whatever your pet needs to feel comfortable. I always move at the pet’s pace, especially with shy cats, puppies, or seniors, and make sure they feel safe before interacting. For dog walks, I focus on giving them a good, structured walk with plenty of sniffing and stimulation. I’m attentive to their body language, energy, and comfort level, and I always keep safety as the top priority. I respect your home the same way I’d want someone to respect mine — clean, careful, and mindful. After every visit, you’ll receive a detailed update and photos so you always know how your pet is doing.

About: I grew up with dogs and cats as a child. As soon as I moved out to Canada, I got my own dog. My kids grew up with all kinds of animals in the house, the animals helped make my house a home. I’ve looked after friends and family pets most of my life and occasionally got paid for it. I took semi retirement early to enjoy life more and work less. I don’t consider caring for a pet a job. I work less the 30 hrs a week so lots of time to care for your pets in your home Lots of exercise, stick to the routine already set up by the owner. Lots of patience as the animal gets to know me and plenty of cuddles along the way. I have experience with seizures and epilepsy

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
