“Carolyn and her family have been an ultra amazing experience for me and Maui. With regular updates and photos, I was able to have days away without any worries. My furbabe was picked up looking so happy and content! Carolyn was great with communication leading up to and after pickup. I hope to rebook in the future! 💝”

About: Hello, My name is Amy! I’m a huge dog lover and have been fostering rescue dogs for many years. Over the years, I’ve cared for several rescues from South Korean dog meat farms and high-kill shelters, as well as local rescues here on the island. With that experience, I have a pretty good sense for dogs with all different kinds of background/behaviors; some of my rescue dogs had severe trauma from where they came from, I love when we open up in time and they feel safe with me. I truly treat every dog as if they were my own, and I promise your fur babies will be cared for with patience, love, and plenty of attention. :) Schedule: I’ll be home with your pets throughout the day, so they’ll have plenty of companionship, attention, and regular potty breaks to keep them comfortable and well cared for. :) Safety, trust & Environment: I live in a very quiet and safe neighbourhood and place with a 1/2 acre beautiful fully fenced yard; where I can play and keep safe.
“Yuet continues to be amazing every time she sits for me. I think the highest praise I can provide is the fact that my dog Odin gets super excited when he realizes he is going to stay with Yuet.”

“Jessica was great. Her and Bruno got along awesome right away during the meet and greet and he didnt want to leave. I got updates and pics everyday. Bruno looked like he a great time playing with other fury friends and lots of walks. Very caring professional and Id highly recommend.”

“Marcel with his wife, have been amazing in caring for Joey. I get regular updates and photos that show Joey enjoying the ‘good life’ in their home. I was impressed with their meticulously cared for home complete with a sun shaded dog run. I completely trust their knowledge and experience leaving Joey in their care.”

“Cat was absolutely amazing with Forrest, she took such good care of him and kept us updated the whole way. He was right at home there, and got lots of TLC. Will definitely be bringing him back.”
About: Animals have been my passion and career for over 10 years. As a stay-at-home mom, I'm home throughout the day and can provide plenty of attention, supervision, and care. I've welcomed many dogs into my home over the years and treat every pet like family. I currently have one dog and three cats, so my only requirement is that visiting dogs are social and comfortable around other animals. I look forward to giving your pet a safe, loving home away from home! As a stay-at-home mom to one child, I have a flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home. This allows me to provide plenty of supervision, attention, potty breaks, and companionship throughout the day, ensuring your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you're away. Your pet will be treated like part of the family while in my care. As a stay-at-home mom, I am home most of the day and can provide regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, feeding, medication administration if needed, and lots of attention. Dogs will have access to a safe, comfortable home environment and plenty of supervised interaction. I have one dog and three cats, so I only accept dogs that are social and comfortable around other animals. My goal is to make your pet feel relaxed, loved, and at home while you're away.
About: I have been passionate about dogs ever since I was a kid. I have been around dogs from the day I was born and trained my first working dog for the sportsman show when I was 10 years old. I have worked with all breeds from Pomeranians to Great Danes and everything in between. I also have 8 years of equine experience so no dog is too much for me to handle. I am currently available full time as I am trying to turn my canine services business into a career so my schedule is very flexible. I am here to help you and your pup with whatever you need. I provide attentive, personalized care based on each pet’s routine and comfort level. In my home, dogs have a safe and secure environment with plenty of space to roam and relax. They’re welcome to join my two friendly dogs for playtime or enjoy quiet time if they prefer their own space. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their environment and follow all instructions closely — ensuring they feel comfortable, cared for, and safe in their familiar surroundings. My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible for both you and your pets.
“Montana is a great pup sitter!! She is extremely detail oriented and I could tell she truly cared about my dogs' safety and happiness. Her dog Rune is such a sweetheart. My dog Cinnamon and her got along splendidly. Cinnamon thoroughly loved their large fenced yard, so much so that she ended up rolling around in their garden. Montana even washed Cinnamon's dirty harness for me!! I definitely recommend Montana!!”

“My doggo had a fabulous time with Robert & family! Tons of playtime with Fido and with the humans too! I received multiple updates with pics and videos to ease my mind during the very first stay away from home.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Tyler as a dog-sitter. This was my third time leaving Ellie with him and she was immediately comfortable in his home, and happy to see him. It is so wonderful to see that she really is her quirky, hilarious self while staying with him - signs that Tyler has created a completely comfortable and happy environment for her. He goes out of his way to take her to new spots for walks every day, is very communicative with me throughout Ellie’s stay with him, and is flexible with my (sometimes frustrating) changing work schedule. He is and will continue to be my first choice whenever I need to hire an Ellie-sitter. Thank you Tyler! 🦘”

“Lorena and Michael took fantastic care of my husky, Nova! She’s a rescue and has some quirks, but they were great with all her needs and very communicative while we were away. Their dog Leia was very sweet and receptive to Nova’s boundaries, and Michael was very knowledgeable with dog cues and behaviour which gave me great confidence in leaving my pup with them. I would leave Nova with them again in a heartbeat! Thanks again.”

“Courtenay and her family were amazing hosts for our 13 month old golden retriever. Even though it was his first time staying with strangers, they quickly helped him feel like part of the family and showered him with attention. Courtenay’s experience and knowledge helped ensure our fur baby was safe and well cared for. We also appreciated her excellent communication and video updates.”

“Was excellent with my anxious dog, took him in last minute when my usual sitter canceled. Goose hates the car and I had just drove with him for 4 hours in the car before I handed him off, which he was also anxious about, but he ended up chilling out and snuggling with Karuna at night. I super recommend Karuna”

About: My Experience I have spent over 25 years caring for pets of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. I have advanced canine husbandy, behavioral and training skills. I learned early on how to read animal body language and provide the love and structure they need. Managing everything from high-energy puppies to gentle senior animals. What I Can Handle Special Needs & Medical Care: I am fully comfortable administering oral medications, topical treatments, and adhering to strict dietary or feeding schedules. I hold Level 2 canine first aid. Puppies & Seniors: I understand the patience required for potty-training puppies, as well as the gentle, slow-paced care needed for senior dogs with arthritis or cognitive decline. All sizes welcome, and all ages from 8 weeks to 18 years. I also handle intact dogs in a multi sexed household. It is difficult to find care for unneutered dogs and that is not a problem here. I personally have owned 4 lb chihuahuas all the way to 90lb powerful breeds. Dogs that may be deemed unsuitable for doggie daycare or kenneling due to neuter status or not coping well in those environments will thrive at my home. I do not take any other animals during the time for these clients, they have individualized needs and I have options for integration or keeping all dogs separate. I typically only take 1 client's dog (s) at a time to ensure safety and to make sure your pup has a wonderful time here. Behavioral Nuances: I have experience with anxious, rescue, or reactive dogs. I know how to maintain a calm environment, avoid triggers on walks, and give them space to build trust at their own pace. My Routine When your pet is with me, their safety and happiness are my top priorities. A typical day includes structured potty breaks every 2-3 hours (for adult dogs), engaging playtime, and daily walks tailored to your dog's energy level. I strictly follow your home rules—whether that means keeping them off the couch or reinforcing their current training commands. You can expect photos and text updates so you never have to worry about how they are doing. I work from home and your pets will receive constant supervision & cozy couch for cuddle time. If I do leave it is for an errand or an appointment. Never gone more than 1-3 hours. We live on a 1/2 acre fully fenced (6ft) yard. Dogs who can handle free roam will be able to do so as the doors are left open in warm weather to come and go. Free to relax on a huge ground level deck in the sun beams or find a shady spot to nap. Play time is party time! We monitor play with our dogs 100% to ensure everyone gets along. I have decades of experience integrating dogs properly to a multi-dog situation by closely observing what is and isn't working for each individual and the dynamic changes required for success! My dogs are well socialized and stable.
“Lisa and David went above and beyond during Indy’s stay over Christmas!! It was our first time leaving our puppy and we felt so comfortable knowing she was in their hands. They sent amazing updates on how Indy was adjusting, and photos / videos of her running around their beautiful fenced in property with their two lovely boarder collies, snoozing on the couch, and getting lots of cuddles from all. We will definitely be booking again and Indy already cant wait to go back ❣️”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Parksville
Paula is terrific. She is a lovely person who has a real connection to dogs. She sat for our dog Truffles for the first time this week. We were a bit worried about how things would go because Truffles is a rehomed dog that can be very timid around people and has issues going inside. However, Paula has a huge fenced yard and indicated that she would stay outside with Truffles if she would not come in. Remarkably Paula got her into her home in just 15 minutes. And she seemed relaxed and content when we picked her up. We will definitely go back to Paula in the future. Matthew and Gillian

Thank you to Alexia and her family for making Sonny's stay such a great experience. We felt at ease from the moment Sonny stepped into your yard and knew she was with a dog family who understood the one-on-one needs of a senior pet. She really looked like one of the family with all the photos, and extended our holiday with the comfort of knowing she was in good hands. It's a really special place for dogs and would highly recommend Alexia and her family for creating such a welcoming environment. I jokingly call it "Sonny's country club" as that's what it felt like. Thank you so much!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
