About: Hello, My name is Amy! I’m a huge dog lover and have been fostering rescue dogs for many years. Over the years, I’ve cared for several rescues from South Korean dog meat farms and high-kill shelters, as well as local rescues here on the island. With that experience, I have a pretty good sense for dogs with all different kinds of background/behaviors; some of my rescue dogs had severe trauma from where they came from, I love when we open up in time and they feel safe with me. “Our dog Flake stayed with Cat for almost two weeks and we were very pleased with the service Cat provided. We received regular updates on how Flake was doing, as well as photos and videos, and I found communicating with Cat very easy. Flake had some issues settling at night but Cat was very patient with him. Our flight home was delayed by one day and Cat was very flexible with the pick up. Cat is an experienced dog groomer and Flake received a bath and brush -- his fur is still looking lush and shiny a few weeks after his stay! Flake loves other dogs so I knew being in a household with other dogs would be perfect for him, but on picking him up I could tell he had bonded with Cat and her husband and felt very much at home. I would definitely recommend Cat and we would be happy to have her look after our dog again in the future.”

What I Can Handle Special Needs & Medical Care: I am fully comfortable administering oral medications, topical treatments, and adhering to strict dietary or feeding schedules. I hold Level 2 canine first aid. Puppies & Seniors: I understand the patience required for potty-training puppies, as well as the gentle, slow-paced care needed for senior dogs with arthritis or cognitive decline. All sizes welcome, and all ages from 8 weeks to 18 years. I also handle intact dogs in a multi sexed household. It is difficult to find care for unneutered dogs and that is not a problem here. I personally have owned 4 lb chihuahuas all the way to 90lb powerful breeds. Dogs that may be deemed unsuitable for doggie daycare or kenneling due to neuter status or not coping well in those environments will thrive at my home. I do not take any other animals during the time for these clients, they have individualized needs and I have options for integration or keeping all dogs separate. I typically only take 1 client's dog (s) at a time to ensure safety and to make sure your pup has a wonderful time here. Behavioral Nuances: I have experience with anxious, rescue, or reactive dogs. I know how to maintain a calm environment, avoid triggers on walks, and give them space to build trust at their own pace. My Routine When your pet is with me, their safety and happiness are my top priorities. A typical day includes structured potty breaks every 2-3 hours (for adult dogs), engaging playtime, and daily walks tailored to your dog's energy level. I strictly follow your home rules—whether that means keeping them off the couch or reinforcing their current training commands. You can expect photos and text updates so you never have to worry about how they are doing. I work from home and your pets will receive constant supervision & cozy couch for cuddle time. If I do leave it is for an errand or an appointment. Never gone more than 1-3 hours. We live on a 1/2 acre fully fenced (6ft) yard. Dogs who can handle free roam will be able to do so as the doors are left open in warm weather to come and go. Free to relax on a huge ground level deck in the sun beams or find a shady spot to nap. Play time is party time! We monitor play with our dogs 100% to ensure everyone gets along. I have decades of experience integrating dogs properly to a multi-dog situation by closely observing what is and isn't working for each individual and the dynamic changes required for success! My dogs are well socialized and stable.
“Shay, Matt and Chacho were so accommodating to Nala at their home. Nala went away with Shay happily excited to play with Chacho. Although she didn’t play so much with Chacho, we learnt that she got super comfy with all of them with a lot of cuddle time. Shay and Matt took Nala and Chacho on 2 great hikes in 2 days. She came home a tired pup which is a sign of all the fun and exercise she got with them. Shay was very responsive and kept us updated with photos throughout. We would trust them to take care of Nala anytime.”

Paula is terrific. She is a lovely person who has a real connection to dogs. She sat for our dog Truffles for the first time this week. We were a bit worried about how things would go because Truffles is a rehomed dog that can be very timid around people and has issues going inside. However, Paula has a huge fenced yard and indicated that she would stay outside with Truffles if she would not come in. Remarkably Paula got her into her home in just 15 minutes.
