“Carolyn and her family have been an ultra amazing experience for me and Maui. With regular updates and photos, I was able to have days away without any worries. My furbabe was picked up looking so happy and content! Carolyn was great with communication leading up to and after pickup. I hope to rebook in the future! 💝”

“Cat did a wonderful job caring for Dale! She has a lovely home and property with lots of room to run and play. Excellent communication throughout stay and her dogs were very welcoming to ours. Would highly recommend getting in contact with Cat for any caregiving. Thanks so much Cat, look forward to bringing Dale over again sometime!”

“Amazing!!!! I could tell Charlie felt so welcomed and loved for his stay. I will definitely leave Charlie with Kelly and Natalie again. In fact he’s already booked!”

“Tyler is an extremely attentive and dedicated boarder. It was evident the effort he went to to ensure our dog was comfortable, loved, and well cared for. We felt so lucky to have him care for our senior dog!”

About: Mature and reliable pet care at your home or my home. Large fenced yard - daily walks and lots of cuddles. Have cared for various dogs and other pets for over 30 years. I’m currently working from home so am available to care for and walk your pet and can either care for them in your home or in my home. I have two friendly dogs who are used to sharing. I have a fenced yard and large house to care for your fur baby. If you require dog walking or care in your own home I can accommodate your preferences.
“This was the first time I left my insecure little dog with a stranger. Her regular sitter was away so I entrusted her with Marcel and although I was apprehensive at first, I am so glad she got to experience a little “holiday” away from me. She played lots with their dog and went on daily walks (which I was also worried about because of her reactivity) but she apparently did well and is actually better now than she was before. I think it was a very positive experience for both me and my dog.”

“Emma took wonderful care of Tisha! She kept us updated, sent photos, and was very attentive to his needs and routine. Tisha seemed happy and comfortable with her and her family. We really appreciated how caring and responsible Emma was. Thank you so much for taking such good care of Tisha! We would definitely be happy to have Tisha stay with Emma again. 😊🐶”

“Yuet continues to be amazing every time she sits for me. I think the highest praise I can provide is the fact that my dog Odin gets super excited when he realizes he is going to stay with Yuet.”

“Coraline and Valentin were wonderful! Friendly, flexible, compassionate, and obviously Robby was very comfortable with them. Thank you! Hopefully we'll see you again!”

“Montana provided loving care to our pup, like it was her own. He was exercised, loved, groomed and feeling like a king during his stay with Montana. We were instantly placed at ease with her friendly and caring personality. We were showered with daily pictures which all demonstrated how happy he was during his stay away from home. Our pup was instant best buddies with Montana's lovely dog. She was flexible with meet and greets and the changes in our trip plans influencing pick up. We will definitely keep Montana as the valuable second home for Jett, our border collie.”

“Our 11 year old, Jinx, boarded with Joanne shortly after losing her bonded brother. Within 24hrs, she was relaxed and having fun with her new routine. Joanne is clearly fabulous with dogs and we expect Jinx will 'go on vacation' many more times. Thank you Joanne! 💕”

“Millie loved staying with Jody and the fur gang! Jody took such loving care and they had loads of fun! We got videos of walks and play and hangout time. We felt very assured that Millie was in great loving care with Jody!”

“Was excellent with my anxious dog, took him in last minute when my usual sitter canceled. Goose hates the car and I had just drove with him for 4 hours in the car before I handed him off, which he was also anxious about, but he ended up chilling out and snuggling with Karuna at night. I super recommend Karuna”

“Lorena and Michael took fantastic care of my husky, Nova! She’s a rescue and has some quirks, but they were great with all her needs and very communicative while we were away. Their dog Leia was very sweet and receptive to Nova’s boundaries, and Michael was very knowledgeable with dog cues and behaviour which gave me great confidence in leaving my pup with them. I would leave Nova with them again in a heartbeat! Thanks again.”

About: I have been actively petsitting for 2 years and looking after pets is my true passion! I have experience caring for pets in their own homes, where they can stay comfortable and relaxed in their familiar surroundings while you’re away. I’m newly accepting clients on a limited basis for petsitting in my own home, I can accept 1 dog at a time and they must be friendly with other dog, and cats. I have 1 dog and 2 cats. I have a fenced yard & lots of areas for walks. For overnights in your home, I am choosing to only do a few per month now, so spots will be a limited and based on what is the most compatible, so please give information about your pet, expectations & any medications when requesting a booking. 😊 My overnight stays are evening-to-morning, meaning I typically arrive around 5–6 PM and stay overnight until the morning. Some days I may arrive a bit after 2 pm, depending on my schedule! During the daytime, I am generally away for approximately 6–8 hours, working at my job, so this service is best suited for pets who are comfortable being home alone during the day/used to working pawrents!🐾 Once I am there in the evening, I’m happy to give them their dinner, potty breaks, yard playtime, companionship, and whatever care is needed as part of their normal routine. Dog walking is not something I offer at this time, so having a yard for your dog is a requirement for overnight care. If this sounds like a good fit for you, feel welcome to reach out! 🐾❤️ During the day, I am either doing check ins or working at my job. I am always around in the evenings & overnight when I’m doing in your home petsitting. Please take note that I am unable to accommodate pets that require someone at their home 24/7. Whether it’s multiple daytime check ins, or an overnight petsit, I’ll treat your pets like family, with patience, kindness, and lots of love. I’d be honored to be part of their routine and help give you peace of mind when you’re away. 🐾
About: ❇️ I pay close attention to animals in my care, I'm always looking out for their safety and well-being. I only host one or two dogs at a time so things stay calm and comfortable. “Rebecca and her family were absolutely amazing with Scout, and we would highly recommend them! Rebecca took wonderful care of Scout while we were traveling in the area. She kept us updated with regular messages and photos of all their outdoor adventures, which gave us such peace of mind knowing he was having a great time. Scout came home happy, healthy, and clearly very well cared for. We’re so grateful to Rebecca and her family for treating him like one of their own. Thank you so much, Rebecca! We would absolutely love to rebook with you in the future and would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and loving sitter for their dog!”

“A big shout out to Sylvie-Ann and Stephane for the wonderful care of Huxley. Huxley has a few little issues and they made sure he was comfortable and happy. Their little Yorkshire Lilou (4lbs) and my 95lb Pitty cross enjoyed each other’s company. Lol. Thank you so much for taking care and hope to see you soon.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Parksville
Mike and Natasha took such good care of our pup, Maple. They are experienced with all breeds and ages of dogs. I was especially happy with their communication. We received photos and updates of Maple while we were away, which left me feeling at ease, knowing she was comfortable and happy.

Paula is terrific. She is a lovely person who has a real connection to dogs. She sat for our dog Truffles for the first time this week. We were a bit worried about how things would go because Truffles is a rehomed dog that can be very timid around people and has issues going inside. However, Paula has a huge fenced yard and indicated that she would stay outside with Truffles if she would not come in. Remarkably Paula got her into her home in just 15 minutes. And she seemed relaxed and content when we picked her up. We will definitely go back to Paula in the future. Matthew and Gillian

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
