It was very clean, cozy, and full of things for the cats to climb and perches to look out the window. My chihuahua was spoiled with walks and cuddles and spent time sun tanning outside (his favorite pastime). Susan sent daily photo updates and was amazing when it came to communication before and during their stay. At one point we thought our flight home would be canceled due to a pending airline strike and Susan was totally ok with us extending the animals stay which relieved a lot of stress for us. “Alexia and her mom Shelley were absolutely amazing! My partner and I were visiting the island and wanted to do a whale watching trip. We knew we didn’t want to leave our dogs in the RV and decided to try to find someone to watch them. We thought it would be a long shot with such short notice and it being on a Sunday but began calling around. After reaching out to quite a few daycares in Nanaimo and Parksville and being told they were full I decided to try using Rover for the first time. I was super nervous but found Alexia and read the reviews and decided to message her. Alexia responded almost immediately and agreed to take both of our dogs for the following day. I asked Alexia a million questions and was worried about the heat wave and she answered everything with no issues and made me feel confident that the dogs would be in good hands. We dropped the dogs off the next day and were greeted by Shelley who was very kind. Shelley showed us where the dogs would be staying and we shared a few details with her as both our dogs had minor ailments at the time. After we left and were on the tour we received many pictures of our dogs from Alexia that were absolutely stunning and she provided us updates on their well being. We enjoyed our tour and weren’t worried at all. When we picked the dogs up you could tell they had a great time and despite the heat they didn’t seem too hot at all. Shelley even let us know that our one dog might have a bladder infection which helped confirm our suspicions we had as well. If we ever return to the island we would definitely reach out to Alexia again if we needed to have our dogs looked after.”

About: We have had pets our entire life. Now retired and travel a few months a year, so currently without a pet because of our travels. Missing the love of our own pets (Scruffy lived to 17 and Cedes lived to 16). So we have decided that the love of your pets, would be lovely and would benefit all involved. We live 2 blocks from the beach, which gives the dogs a great run and or swim permitting of course :) My wife and I are both retired and walk to the beach everyday, would be nice to have a dog to walk with us. About: I’m a past pet owner. I've recently looked after my sisters two small dogs for long weekends or a week at a time in BC while they were away. I’ve even looked after a relatives house, 2 Great Danes, 1 med sized dog and a few cats for a couple weeks when I was a kid with my elderly grandmother. Big responsibility! I’ve also looked after a neighbours cat for a couple weeks twice a day for feeds, daily cat litter cleaning, and music turned on and off with cuddle time. I’m bondable! I’ve volunteered and work for police forces over the years so no record etc. I believe animals have souls and need love and to be cared for. I’m willing to go to your home and water, feed and take your fur baby out for bathroom breaks and a cuddle. This will take a load off your mind as well as physically for your fur babies. I may not have years of getting paid and labelled as “professional” but I’m experienced when loving animals and using common sense to look after them and your home. Any questions, just ask. Cheers. I will obliviously, learn and note what is needed as per the owner of the pet. I will make sure the pet feels loved and not alone while the owner is away. I will look after the residents as well. Pets are fed and watered in a timely manner and working with the owners schedule as required.
About: I have previously lived with 4 large dogs! And loved every minute of it. During this time I helped raise two puppies and took all 4 for frequent walks. I am available on Saturday and Sunday full time. Otherwise for week days I am available from the morning until 4 pm as I work evenings.
