“Ryan didn’t outstanding job looking after my dog Duke. I came home to a very happy boy who is more behaved and better looking than when I left. Ryan was very punctual and I will definitely get him again anytime I go away if he’s available.”

“Deborah brought some great, positive energy with her! Luna seemed very happy upon our return home and was so happy to have been in 2 walks while we were away! Thank you Deborah, we hope to see you again soon! !”

“Tania & David were very friendly and caring with our dog Luna. We appreciated that they came over to meet her in advance, and arrived right on time! Luna had a great time hanging out with Tania and is looking forward to the next time! Highly recommend!”

About: I am Aunty Cindy to many animals. I adore animals and take their care very seriously. In fact it’s fair to say my entire life (and career!) revolves around them. I have a special ability to work with animals who are more challenging, special needs, reactive or sensitive, because I have years of experience caring for rescues of my own. I fully understand how hard it is as an owner to trust someone with these special cases and I'd love to be of help. I’ve spent most of my life around animals. I’ve worked with horses for nearly 40 years (I trained beginner riders at Southlands in Vancouver) and I currently own a horse in Roberts Creek, so I’m very comfortable reading body language, handling strong personalities, and staying calm in unpredictable situations. I also have hands-on experience with fearful and reactive dogs through my own rescue, Sweepy, who came completely wild and fearful from Thailand. That experience and all the research and training it led me to (countless courses and loads of work with different trainers and specialists) has taught me patience, respect for boundaries, a keen sense of body language, and the knowledge of how to build trust with animals who don’t feel safe right away. I also love cats and am very attentive to their unique personalities and needs. I have worked with numerous cat rescues as a photographer. In my 20s I worked at two dog daycare facilities downtown Vancouver and in Kitsilano as a dog walker, caring for dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. I’m confident with everything from high-energy dogs to seniors and more sensitive cases. In my 30s, I started a successful pet photography business (Muddy Love), which is still in business and has given me a strong ability to connect with animals quickly and make them feel at ease. Odds are you will get some bonus awesome photos of your pets if you choose me as a sitter! Overall, I’m calm, observant, and genuinely obsessed with animals. Ask anyone in my life who their most animal loving friend is, and there is no doubt they'd name me without giving it a second thought. I take each animal's care incredibly seriously and aim to make them feel safe, understood, and well looked after. I work part-time remote for an animal photojournalism organization, which gives me a very flexible schedule. I’m able to plan my days around animals, whether that’s walks, drop-ins, or spending quality time with animals in their own home. I have a reliable truck. Because I’m home-based, I’m also available for consistent routines, mid-day visits, and last-minute needs when possible. Pet care fits easily into my week, and I genuinely enjoy building my day around it. I prioritize calm, safe, and respectful care in whatever environment your pet is most comfortable in. In your home, I follow your routines closely to keep things consistent and low-stress. I’m very mindful of doors, gates, leashes, and surroundings, especially with reactive or sensitive animals. I pay close attention to behaviour and body language and adjust my approach so your pet feels safe and understood. I keep things clean, secure, and predictable, and I’m happy to provide updates and photos so you know how your pet is doing. Overall, I’m calm, attentive, and take responsibility seriously — your pet’s safety and comfort always come first.
“My cat was healthy and happy when I returned from my trip - in fact, I think he missed Allison. Allison was thoughtful and reliable, and helped with some small but important things around the house as well. Great job!”

About: Hey fur friends, I am an animal lover through and through! As an experienced dog trainer & rehabilitation specialist your pets well being is my #1 priority! Growing up I was lucky to always be surrounded by a zoo of animals and started dog walking/ pet sitting at a young age. My schedule is flexible since I work from home with a flex schedule and the rail trail is around the corner from our home with a great dog friendly low traffic swim area just 10 minutes down the trail. Local dogs here are friendly! I rescued my dog from Guatemala. I spent a lot of time rehabilitating/ training him so you would never guess he used to be a street dog! I have many years of experience offering dog training, rehabilitation, boarding and grooming. I foster/rehabilitate animals in need when they find their way to me and spent years volunteering at the SPCA. *Note that when I have a rehab animal I will be marked away from the site. Due to my experience with rehabilitation I am comfortable accepting: • Special needs animals • Rescue animals • Nervous/shy animals (my dog is respectful of space) • Animals who are on meds • Untrained puppies/ kittens • Quirky pets * Let’s chat about your pets unique needs! I offer quality care and often go above and beyond for my clients in order to build trust, safety and community in the fur family club! Im looking forward to hearing from you and your pets! Warm regards, Alyssa I run a private online counselling practice from home so my schedule is flexible. Currently I’m on maternity leave with my baby so we have lots of time for fur friends! My 10 year old dog is gentle and friendly and loves all other animals! I have treat puzzles to share and love teaching old dogs new tricks! :)
“Cassie took care of our cats for a week while we were gone for the holidays. We have one cat who requires daily meds which makes it a little more difficult, but she went above and beyond to take care of them. Came home to two happy cats! Cassie will be our go-to sitter :)”

About: Responsible, compassionate, middle-aged- chill vibe. I have done temp. care for ponies, horses and cared for my own cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits and tropical fish! Currently I'm very open, time-wise. I'm a student and working part time so lots of flexibility. Looking forward to discussing your and fur baby needs. I like clear instructions of what pets are used to and expect. I also like to know how they are used to interacting outside of the home. (on leash, off leash, good with others). Most pets like routine and I like to help maintain that sense of safety for them. :)
About: I have several years of experience caring for dogs and cats of different sizes and personalities. I’m patient, calm, and observant, and I always take time to learn each pet’s routines and preferences. I have experience with puppies, senior pets, and shy animals, and I can provide walks, feeding, litter box cleaning, playtime, and medication under owner instructions. I almost graduate. I only have one course in this semester. Therefore, I have enough time and patience to take care of the dog and cat. Safety is my top priority. I keep dogs on leash during walks unless in a secure enclosed area. I never introduce pets to other animals without permission. I follow all feeding and medication instructions, monitor behavior, and keep clean water available. In the client’s home, I make sure doors and windows are secure and respect house rules. I send regular updates so owners feel confident and informed.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sechelt
Tania and David are caring, diligent and thoughtful pet minders. We were away for three weeks and our cat was in great hands. Excellent daily check-ins provided us with peace of mind and a sense of connection. They traveled each day to our home meaning our cat could stay in her familiar environment. We recommend them highly.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Sechelt stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sechelt choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
