“Loki and we are so grateful to have Linn. Linn is so amazing and she carefully followed all of Loki’s routines. She genuinely spent quality time with Loki and kept him company, which means a lot to us. Linn shared lots of photos and videos, and provided detailed updates after each visit. We always knew how Loki was doing. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Linn, and we would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring cat sitter!”

“Priscilla was fantastic! She did drop-in visits at my home for Bluey and Star, and everything went perfectly. Communication was easy and I felt completely at ease while I was away. When I returned, both cats were content and happy, which says a lot. Priscilla ensured they got their wet food and checked that everything was okay in the apartment. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter!”

“Thank you, Marta! Super conscientious and responsive, lots of love and care for our kitty, very highly recommended!! Thank you again so much for taking care of Edie while we were away!”

“Nataliia took great care of our cat Abbey, she has a calm demeanour and gave our cat the company she needed while we were away. Will definitely have Nataliia back again!”

“Really appreciate Madison’s care for our puppy. Communication was clear and easy, and Orson was clearly in experienced, caring hands. I have no reservations recommending Madison!”

“Lyvnia was amazing with our two energetic dogs! You could tell right away that our dogs liked her and from the pictures it seemed like they had a great time! She was also respectful of our house and showed up on time! We will definitely look to rebook with her again :)”

“We needed someone very last minute to come check in on our two cats and Iris came to our rescue! She was amazing at keeping us updated with pics which was so reassuring. She is a natural cat sitter and I know Coco and Fluffy will miss seeing her!! Highly recommend Iris!! Very trustworthy and responsible- couldn’t ask for anything more.”

“Yin was looking after our pet Chinchilla for two weeks. Chinchillas are exotic pets and quite a height maintenance ones. Yin was so great! Not only she followed all the necessary care routines carefully. She really invested her time and soul into building relationships with our little fluff. Yin’s reports and photos were so sweet, brightening our days away from home. And when we come back, our little Pushinka was so well taken care of. We are very grateful to Yin and are looking forward to having her back again soon!”

“Thank you, Danica! From the start, Danica was responsive and easy to communicate with. She set up a meet and greet to meet my animals ahead of time and ensure things would be a good fit. Danica has a calming, safe presence and my animals felt at ease around her. She is highly reliable, kind, considerate and truly made me feel like my animals were with a family member. I will absolutely reach out to her as my first choice should I require animal care in the future :-)”

“Melissa went above and beyond. I could tell from the Meet and Greet and photos of the first visit that my dog adores her. I’ll be booking another visit soon and I wouldn’t hesitate to book her for house sitting too. Thanks Melissa! It’s comforting to know my dog is in good hands!”

“Klara did a wonderful job dropping in to look after my 13yo cat. She sent thorough descriptions of her her visits, along with pictures, and tried her best to get my skeptical cat to come out for attention. I'd happily ask Klara to look after Kerm again!”

“Kazuko was amazing as usual! She went out of her way to maintain Cleo’s routines while I was away, even taking her on her little walks in the park (which can be intimidating if you’ve never walked a cat before)! She sent lots of photos and great updates and made me feel like Cleo was totally safe in her hands :)”

About: I've lived with pets since I was born. As soon as I could walk, I was eager to help take care of them: clean the cats’ litter boxes, walk the dog, feed them, change the water, and of course, play with them. As I grew older, so did our dog. In his old age, Archie needed slower, more frequent walks, more attention, different diet and feeding schedule - I was always there for him. That’s how I first learned to care for old dogs as well. I miss him dearly. Nowadays, I live with a cat! He's a very sweet boy, even though a little bit shy. It's my roommate’s first cat, and I’m happy to guide him through this wonderful adventure with my experience. If you’re looking for a gentle attentive caregiver for your furry baby, I got you! I'm working full-time next month, but in August I'll be back to my part-time schedule. I am usually free from Monday to Thursday, but for now only Mondays work. From previous experience hosting small dogs here, we designed a system of spatial separation, not to stress either your pet or house cat. It will have half of the house to explore. We already keep everything edible out of the cat's reach, and there's strict "shut doors, shut windows" policy for our escape artist, so yours also won't have a chance. In others' home, I follow their requirements. If there's no instructions given, I'll look out for following: - no human food eaten - no paws on the table, kitchen counter, etc. - no pushing fragile things from surfaces, no fighting heavy things (that may fall on them) - if there's toys, offer to play every once in a while - if they're comfortable, pet and cuddle Outside: - no picking from the ground - interactions controlled - no off-leash walks, playing off-leash only in the fenced yard or in a dog park - I usually let them to pick the route, but try to walk for at least 20-30 minutes.

About: I have had dogs on and off my entire life. I adopted an older dog in my twenties who had severe arthritis and cared for him until his final days. This gave me hands-on experience with senior care and medication administration. I have house sat for my family and friend’s dogs throughout the years and given the dogs medication whenever it was needed. I have also been on many walks, runs and hikes with dogs and am able to handle high-energy dogs. My partner and I currently own a dog who is anxious and has some separation anxiety, and so I have a lot of patience and can handle more nervous/anxious dogs. Because of his anxiousness we are almost always with him and have a very homebody lifestyles with tons of positive reinforcement and desensitization techniques. I work as a flight attendant Monday to Wednesday's, and the rest of the time I am home. Whenever I am home I am fully available for pet sitting, dog walking and house drop ins. I mostly spend my days off going for long walks along the seawall, running, camping and enjoying time at home with my dog. I have a very flexible schedule with a lot of time off so it allows me to be fully present for any dog care. I currently live in an apartment in Fairview with easy access to the outdoors. There is a dog park about 10 minutes away from my place along with the seawall for walks. I live in a quiet neighbourhood that is very dog friendly. There is a vet at a 10 minute walk if ever it was needed.
“So appreciative of Mila’s drop in visit with our puppy! She is a great communicator and kept me updated. She is clearly an animal lover. When we had our meet and greet I knew instantly Orson would be well taken care of :)”

About: I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care, and I’ll treat your pup like family. I first started caring for a family dog 10 years ago, and I currently have a German Shepherd, so I’m comfortable with energetic dogs, strong breeds, daily routines, walks, playtime, and giving them the attention they need. I also work in a veterinary clinic, which has helped me become calm, observant, and confident around animals. I’m comfortable giving medication and watching for small changes in behavior, appetite, energy level, bathroom habits, or other symptoms that may need attention. If anything unusual happens, I know how to stay calm, communicate clearly, and respond quickly. Whether your dog needs a walk, feeding, medication, playtime, cuddles, or a calm companion, I’ll follow your instructions carefully and keep you updated so you can feel at ease while you’re away. I have a flexible work schedule, which allows me to fit pet care into my daily routine easily. I’m available to care for pets before or after work depending on the booking, and I always make sure I have enough time to follow each pet’s routine carefully. After work, I’m happy to provide feeding, fresh water, walks, litter cleaning, playtime, medication if needed, and updates for pet parents. I understand how important consistency is, so I’ll do my best to keep your pet’s schedule as close to normal as possible. Safety and trust are always my top priorities. In a client’s home, I carefully follow all instructions for feeding, fresh water, medication, walks, litter cleaning, playtime, and house rules. I make sure doors, windows, gates, and leashes are secure, and I always pay attention to each pet’s comfort level, routine, and personality. Because I work in a veterinary clinic, I’m very observant with pets and comfortable noticing small changes in behavior, appetite, energy level, bathroom habits, or other symptoms. If anything seems unusual, I will stay calm, contact the owner, and respond quickly if care is needed. I respect every client’s home and treat each pet like my own. I’m patient with shy pets, careful with energetic pets, and happy to provide updates so pet parents know their pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Daphne was incredible in every way. Her communication and availability made coordinating key drop-off and a greeting super easy. Our cat loved her, immediately had a connection with Daphne and we loved all the update videos and photos while we were gone. Thank you so much for watching our Jo.

Nataliia is amazing! She’s helped us twice already since the end of June and is our cat, Ellie’s, new favorite person! She is kind and really does the best job at putting our mind at ease knowing she’s going an incredible job! Can’t wait to hire her again and know everything will go perfectly!

Junyan took such good care of my cats while I was gone. She was accountable, respectful, caring and in tune with what my cats were needing. By the end of the five day trip she had my anxious kitty playing with her ! She had great on time communication and would call if anything arose that needed my attention quickly. She is such a calm constant attentive pet sitter which helped put my mind at ease. Both me and my cats love her so much and we will be rebooking in the future !

Marta is our go-to pet sitter. She gives each of our pets the attention and care they need. Even our highly anxious cat comes out of hiding for Marta’s drop in visits. Marta takes great care in meeting each pet’s unique needs. It is clear how much she loves animals!

Kazuko was perfect - we have a super senior cat that requires medications with every meal and Kazuko handled everything perfectly. She was communicative and provided consistent updates with every drop-in visit so we could just relax during our trip. She also left our apartment so clean and overall provided above and beyond what we expected.

We really loved Kenyan she is very professional and punctual. My pet Luna really loved her attention and care. Every visit from Kenyan was amazing and in details with photos and records of everything that she did to Luna. We really recommend her as a pet sitter. For sure we will book her again. Thank you so much for thanking such a great care of our baby Luna. 🐱

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vancouver choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
