“Carol has been walking and visiting my 5 month old pup Murphy for about 1 month now. Murphy is always so excited to see her and Carol is very reliable and friendly to connect with through the app and in person. I highly recommend her!”

“Priscilla was fantastic! She did drop-in visits at my home for Bluey and Star, and everything went perfectly. Communication was easy and I felt completely at ease while I was away. When I returned, both cats were content and happy, which says a lot. Priscilla ensured they got their wet food and checked that everything was okay in the apartment. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter!”

“Linn was super accommodating, friendly, and caring towards both my cat Oreo and myself! I could tell my cat Oreo felt safe with her. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Melissa went above and beyond. I could tell from the Meet and Greet and photos of the first visit that my dog adores her. I’ll be booking another visit soon and I wouldn’t hesitate to book her for house sitting too. Thanks Melissa! It’s comforting to know my dog is in good hands!”

“So appreciative of Mila’s drop in visit with our puppy! She is a great communicator and kept me updated. She is clearly an animal lover. When we had our meet and greet I knew instantly Orson would be well taken care of :)”

“Thank you, Danica! From the start, Danica was responsive and easy to communicate with. She set up a meet and greet to meet my animals ahead of time and ensure things would be a good fit. Danica has a calming, safe presence and my animals felt at ease around her. She is highly reliable, kind, considerate and truly made me feel like my animals were with a family member. I will absolutely reach out to her as my first choice should I require animal care in the future :-)”

“Klara pet sat my cat goose for a couple days. Our trip even got cut short and she was on standby just incase I was delayed. From the moment we met her we knew she was the one for the job. She was caring, thoughtful and had excellent communication. The daily reports were detailed with photo and videos to accompany. It was so great to know and see how happy my fur ball was during their visits. Highly recommend!”

“Really appreciate Madison’s care for our puppy. Communication was clear and easy, and Orson was clearly in experienced, caring hands. I have no reservations recommending Madison!”

“Amazing service as always. My one cat was a a bit of a handful, but Daphne dealt with it wonderfully. I will continue to come back to Daphne as I don’t think literally anyone could care for my girls like her. Thank you so so much! Means the world to know my babies are in the best hands.”

About: I have had dogs on and off my entire life. I adopted an older dog in my twenties who had severe arthritis and cared for him until his final days. This gave me hands-on experience with senior care and medication administration. I have house sat for my family and friend’s dogs throughout the years and given the dogs medication whenever it was needed. I have also been on many walks, runs and hikes with dogs and am able to handle high-energy dogs. My partner and I currently own a dog who is anxious and has some separation anxiety, and so I have a lot of patience and can handle more nervous/anxious dogs. Because of his anxiousness we are almost always with him and have a very homebody lifestyles with tons of positive reinforcement and desensitization techniques. I work as a flight attendant Monday to Wednesday's, and the rest of the time I am home. Whenever I am home I am fully available for pet sitting, dog walking and house drop ins. I mostly spend my days off going for long walks along the seawall, running, camping and enjoying time at home with my dog. I have a very flexible schedule with a lot of time off so it allows me to be fully present for any dog care. I currently live in an apartment in Fairview with easy access to the outdoors. There is a dog park about 10 minutes away from my place along with the seawall for walks. I live in a quiet neighbourhood that is very dog friendly. There is a vet at a 10 minute walk if ever it was needed.
About: I’ve cared for dogs and animals for over 20 years and have experience with puppies, senior dogs, high-energy breeds, and shy or anxious pets. Along with personal pet care experience, I’ve also volunteered with the VOKRA (Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association) as a foster navigator and socializer, helping animals become comfortable, confident, and well-adjusted around people. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, supervise, and care for their pets as if they were my own. I’m patient, attentive, active, and genuinely passionate about animals, and I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and happiness while in my care. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine since I already spend a lot of time around animals and regularly go on walks and outdoor activities. I’m active, reliable, and flexible with scheduling, and I make sure pets get plenty of exercise, attention, playtime, and care throughout the day. I’m also experienced with maintaining routines, feeding schedules, and making pets feel comfortable and relaxed while their owners are away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I’m attentive, patient, and experienced with reading animal behavior and making pets feel safe and secure in new environments. Through my volunteer experience with VOKRA as a foster navigator and socializer, I’ve worked with animals that require extra patience, supervision, and trust-building. I’m very aware of roads, other dogs, other animals, and environmental factors during walks and outings, and I always prioritize safe, controlled, and positive experiences for every pet in my care. I follow owner instructions carefully, maintain a clean and calm environment, and treat every pet like family.
About: My dad was a dog trainer so I’ve been around and taken care of dog my whole life. I also have taken care of and walked many of my family and neighbours dogs. I’m available full-time, Monday-Friday. I’m just finishing up a summer job, then going back to school online so I have a lot of free time. I have a large fence field in front of my house, and there are two dogs parks near by. So there is lots of space to run and play. I find walks and getting outside no matter the weather to be important for keep all dogs and other pets happy and healthy.

“Kazuko is an amazing cat caregiver. She genuinely loves cats and took care of mine with great patience. Our cats were quite shy at first, but by the end, they were really excited for Kazuko’s visits. Thank you so much, Kazuko!”

“Anna was amazing ! We booked her last minute and some how my old address came up so Anna travelled out of her way for a wrong address - not only was she super understanding, she went back on the bus to get To my dogs (I’m sure a lot of people would be very upset at the mistake). She was extremely understanding which helped a very stressful situation we were dealing with. She communicated above and beyond. My pups loved her - we got lots of pictures and updates. We will be using her again for sure. Thanks again Anna”
About: My wife and I have years of experience taking care of dogs. We love them. But we ensure that we love dogs in the ways that they receive love. Structure, exercise, cuddles, and calm, consistent leadership. I am well experienced in dog training, canine behaviour, and am confident working with dogs of varying sizes, breeds, and temperaments. My wife has worked for Global Pet Foods, and thus is experienced in dog nutrition and care. Together, we have raised & trained a beautiful female Vizsla named Sage. Our work schedule is quite flexible, so we are able to go out for walks or drop in for home visits. Rain or shine we love a good walk! We adhere to the guidelines given to us by the owners, as they know their dogs best. Upon that, we give dogs in our care plenty of structure, exercise, training, and attention. We also ensure the dogs stay well-nourished and protected while they are under our care. Responsibility & love is what we strive to provide.

“It is a special treat for Smokey when Kami visits, Smokey clearly loves her so much! I love the photos that Kami sends of the two of them cuddling. It makes me happy to see my kitty so happy and well cared for!”

This is our second time booking with Cassie and like before she was thorough and responsive, kept our place tidy and of course - made sure our two girls were fed on time and comfortable. It gives us a peace of mind knowing that we don't have to worry about the basics being met while we are away, which is invaluable.

Wanting is amazing - so accomodating and responsive. She took the best care of our cat Gilbert, who also fell in love with her 💜 You can tell she loves cats and is so kind and patient. I will 100% be asking her to look after Gilbert again in the future. Thank you, Wanting! 💜 10/10

Viktoriia was great with Amaya and would definitely book her again! She made sure to play with and entertain Amaya and the kitty was happy to come out to see her (not always the case as she is rather shy). Viktoriia was overall very nice and professional, followed instructions as asked, and with plenty of pictures and videos I could easily tell Amaya is in very good hands!

Keyan is a gem! This is our second time booking her to look after our cats, and it’s clear she truly adores animals. She is reliable, responsive, and always super friendly and upbeat. What really stood out this time is that our cats remembered her right away from her last visit a few months ago. That made a huge difference, especially since our calico is very shy and reserved. Keyan was so patient and gentle—she even managed to coax her out from under the bed for dinner and some companionship. We felt completely at ease knowing our cats were in such caring and capable hands. I would highly recommend Keyan to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.

Kazuko was amazing as usual! She went out of her way to maintain Cleo’s routines while I was away, even taking her on her little walks in the park (which can be intimidating if you’ve never walked a cat before)! She sent lots of photos and great updates and made me feel like Cleo was totally safe in her hands :)

We felt so at ease leaving our little guy knowing Grace was going to be stopping by to check on him! She made key pickup easy and kept us updated while away. Ollie was a little shy but we know he liked her too since he ventured out to say hi. Thank you so much Grace!!!

Yuliya is an amazing pet sitter - her communication is top notch and she really cares about the pets she looks after. This is evident in the way she asks questions and how she shows her interest in the pets she looks after. My cat was very relaxed when I came home and I really appreciated her attention to details throughout the process. Thanks Yuliya!!

Andres took exceptional care of Freddie and Roger. I felt completely at ease while I was away because he did much more than just take care of their litter boxes, food, and water. He spent quality time with them, played with them, and made sure they were happy and comfortable. He kept me informed throughout the entire stay and regularly sent photos and videos, which I appreciated. Both cats clearly loved their time with Andres, and I would absolutely trust him to care for them again whenever I need a pet sitter.

Ana has been amazing! I'm always a little nervous when I need someone to look after my dog because she requires a little extra patience and care but Ana always puts me at ease. She's not only great with dogs but she genuinely cares for their well-being and goes above and beyond to provide an excellent service. Thank you Ana!

Another great experience with Beth making sure Barlow was able to stretch his legs, eat, and play. It’s so reassuring that as a young puppy Barlow is able to trust Beth when we are away. As new dog owners, this time is so valuable and appreciated. Beth provided updates when she arrived, how he was doing, and when she left.

Lyvnia was amazing with our two energetic dogs! You could tell right away that our dogs liked her and from the pictures it seemed like they had a great time! She was also respectful of our house and showed up on time! We will definitely look to rebook with her again :)

There are 4,520 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Vancouver. About 85% of Vancouver sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Vancouver stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vancouver choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
