“Linn was super accommodating, friendly, and caring towards both my cat Oreo and myself! I could tell my cat Oreo felt safe with her. I would definitely book with her again!”

“Iris is an absolutely incredible and highly responsible pet sitter! I booked her to take care of my cat, Orange, while I was out of town, and I couldn't be happier with her service. Orange usually takes time to warm up to people, but he absolutely adores Iris. Every time she left, Orange would stand by the door for a long time, waiting for her to come back. During her visits, Iris went above and beyond—she meticulously cleaned the litter box, refreshed his water, and spent quality time playing with him. What touched me the most was how she handled an unexpected situation: Orange threw up once while I was away. Iris managed it beautifully and took such amazing care of him that he fully recovered and didn't throw up again. She sent me wonderful photos and videos during every single visit, which gave me complete peace of mind and allowed me to fully enjoy my vacation. Iris is reliable, professional, and genuinely loves animals. I will definitely look for Iris to take care of Orange again whenever I travel in the future. Highly, highly recommended!”

About: Having grown up surrounded by dogs, my love for animals has been a constant in my life. From a young age, I actively participated in fostering pets, which deepened my understanding of their needs and behaviors. Over the years, I've become a trusted resource for neighbors, family, and friends when it comes to pet care, providing them with peace of mind knowing their furry companions are in capable hands. When your pup stays with me, they'll enjoy the company of my friendly 2.5 year old female and spayed golden retriever/border collie mix. My dog is well-socialized and loves making new friends, ensuring a playful and welcoming environment. I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing space where your dog can feel at home, receive plenty of exercise, and enjoy lots of attention. Rest assured, your pup will be treated like a member of the family during their stay. I look forward to creating a fun and comfortable experience for both of us! I work from home 9am-5pm with a 1 hour break in between. With my current dog, our day usually starts with a quick walk, walk during lunch and walk/park after work. I live in a one bedroom apartment with my partner and dog. Your dog will always be in view while I work during the day. Not to mention a friendly dog to keep them company.

About: I have had dogs on and off my entire life. I adopted an older dog in my twenties who had severe arthritis and cared for him until his final days. This gave me hands-on experience with senior care and medication administration. I have house sat for my family and friend’s dogs throughout the years and given the dogs medication whenever it was needed. I have also been on many walks, runs and hikes with dogs and am able to handle high-energy dogs. My partner and I currently own a dog who is anxious and has some separation anxiety, and so I have a lot of patience and can handle more nervous/anxious dogs. Because of his anxiousness we are almost always with him and have a very homebody lifestyles with tons of positive reinforcement and desensitization techniques. I work as a flight attendant Monday to Wednesday's, and the rest of the time I am home. Whenever I am home I am fully available for pet sitting, dog walking and house drop ins. I mostly spend my days off going for long walks along the seawall, running, camping and enjoying time at home with my dog. I have a very flexible schedule with a lot of time off so it allows me to be fully present for any dog care. I currently live in an apartment in Fairview with easy access to the outdoors. There is a dog park about 10 minutes away from my place along with the seawall for walks. I live in a quiet neighbourhood that is very dog friendly. There is a vet at a 10 minute walk if ever it was needed.
“Priscilla was fantastic! She did drop-in visits at my home for Bluey and Star, and everything went perfectly. Communication was easy and I felt completely at ease while I was away. When I returned, both cats were content and happy, which says a lot. Priscilla ensured they got their wet food and checked that everything was okay in the apartment. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring cat sitter!”

“Marta is so good with our many furry friends! She is thorough and caring. Even our very anxious cat is comfortable with her visits. We appreciate her expertise in caring for rabbits as well!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for 18 years and have owned and loved cats my entire life. I’m patient, reliable, communicative, and genuinely love animals. I also have experience fostering cats and supporting feral cat TNR efforts. Every pet is unique, and I’ll treat your fur baby with the personalized care, attention, and love they deserve. I’m a writer who works from home, so I have maximum flexibility for your schedule and pet. From walks, to feedings, to playing and snuggling, my lifestyle is perfect for pet sitting, pet care, and dog walking. I have one very chill sweet cat of my own at home. At others’ homes, I am respectful of their space and expectations. I am always available to check in with you. At this time, I only offer cat boarding and my own home and do not offer dog boarding.
“Klara pet sat my cat goose for a couple days. Our trip even got cut short and she was on standby just incase I was delayed. From the moment we met her we knew she was the one for the job. She was caring, thoughtful and had excellent communication. The daily reports were detailed with photo and videos to accompany. It was so great to know and see how happy my fur ball was during their visits. Highly recommend!”

“Nataliia took great care of our cat Abbey, she has a calm demeanour and gave our cat the company she needed while we were away. Will definitely have Nataliia back again!”

“Really appreciate Madison’s care for our puppy. Communication was clear and easy, and Orson was clearly in experienced, caring hands. I have no reservations recommending Madison!”

“Tanvi takes great care of my cat, giving her all the cuddles and pets she wants. She makes sure to include adorable photos everyday. I’m sure Peaches is in good hands when I leave on work trips.”

“Carol has looked after our shy, senior cat twice this year and has done an outstanding job both times! Carol is considerate, kind, communicative and clearly loves animals dearly. She managed to win over our apprehensive boy who is typically quite wary around strangers, which is no small feat. Carol always spent extra time with our sweet boy, going to show how much she cares about her feline clients. Carol was very competent with giving our cat multiple oral meds each day, which we ourselves struggle with from time to time. Picking Carol to look after your animals is a fantastic idea and you’ll be sure to hire her again and again after seeing her excellent work!”

“Kazuko took care of my cat, Teddy, for just over a week, and I couldn't be happier with her care of him! She was flexible and quick to set up time to come visit the home and consistently went above and beyond to ensure Teddy was cared for and the home remained clean. She was kind, and gave tons of daily photos and updates, also being proactive in suggesting and thinking about how she could make sure Teddy was having an even better time while I was away. I would certainly recommend her and will definitely be rebooking for my next trip! Thank you Kazuko!”

“Lyvnia was amazing with our two energetic dogs! You could tell right away that our dogs liked her and from the pictures it seemed like they had a great time! She was also respectful of our house and showed up on time! We will definitely look to rebook with her again :)”

About: Nurturing a Pet Haven: My Journey in Animal Care From the wagging tails of ten dogs—three of whom have crossed the rainbow bridge—to the gentle flutter of bird wings and the serene swims of turtles and fish, my home has been a sanctuary for diverse pets. Each day, I craft nutritious home-cooked meals, tailored to their needs, while meticulously managing their medications and grooming routines. This daily ritual is more than a task; it’s a labor of love, ensuring that every creature in my care thrives and feels cherished. I am currently working part time, so I have plenty of time to take sittings on weekdays as I work on weekends. I can sometimes contribute on weekends too. I will be doing the duties at client’s home with complete secure sitting. I can provide valid background check and profile info and with few references.

I’m very happy I have finally found a wonderful sitter I can trust and rely on to care for my two cats. Instructions were followed to the tee and she was extremely responsive and sent lots of photos - the cats were very happy playing with her. I would absolutely book again and recommend them.

We hired Amanda to watch our dogs for one night while we attended a wedding. We’re not from Vancouver, so it was obviously nerve racking hiring someone without having the opportunity to meet her ahead of time. Amanda was great, though, and accommodated our schedule, which hadn’t been finalized. She followed up with me before our trip and met us at our hotel the day before we needed her. Our dogs took to her very well. She was also incredibly flexible because we weren’t sure exactly what time we would be back from the wedding. We ended up being about 20 minutes late, and her flexibility reduced so much stress for us. It was very much appreciated and allowed us to enjoy the evening. She also provided lots of updates and took the dogs for a killer long walk!

Arushi took such good care of my cat, Naz! It was the first time I've seen her being out and playful from day one with someone she's just met. I felt so in ease during my trip since Arushi updated me with all the details that I would like to know and I can tell that she genuinely loves cats! I believe my cat also felt this so she was comfortable and playful despite normally being shy. I'd recommend Arushi to any pet parent who is as concerned as I am without a doubt! On top of that, I came back to a clean place which I also appreciate a lot! I would definitely book her services again when needed.

Keyan was an ideal cat sitter for us! She was wonderful with our kitten, and she also communicated clearly, showed up right when she said she would, and sent us detailed reports. She is also a very nice person. I can’t think of anything Keyan could have done better!

Daphne has been our trusted sitter for years now and always takes such great care of our fluffy guy whenever we are gone. Lots of picture and video updates are always much appreciated and we always get home to a happy cat! Thanks Daphne for your wonderful care.

Junyan was a fantastic pet sitter! She took such great care of my cat, and sent me lots of photos and videos to update me while I was away - I looked forward to them every day! I was so much more comfortable being away from my cat knowing that Junyan was taking care of her

Thank you Nicholas for taking such good care of our cat Spud! We really appreciate all the extra details whether it be playing with him, brushing him, feeding and keeping his and our space clean! It was wonderful getting the updates and photos every day, it made it a little easier being away from him. We really appreciate you and will gladly use your services again when needed!

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Vancouver choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
