“It was a joy to have Amanda care for our two cats over Christmas. After meeting with her before our trip, my partner and I both felt as though our pets were in very capable, responsible, and caring hands. Recieving updates during her drop-in visits was wonderful and our cats took to her very quickly (something they don't typically do!). Amanda will absolutely be our first choice to care for our cats in the future!”

“We were very lucky to find Liudmila and Igor when we needed a sitter for our foster dog last minute. They were quick to respond and easy to communicate with. Most importantly, they took great care of our foster dog (who is high needs) and clearly have a lot of experience with and love for dogs. We would be happy to have them care for our dog again!”
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Rover Review for Alexis Alexis has been absolutely wonderful with my Korean Jindo, who is a nervous rescue and takes time to warm up to new people. From the very beginning, she showed so much patience, kindness, and understanding of his needs. Her gentle approach helped him feel safe and comfortable, which means the world to me. Alexis communicates clearly after every visit with thoughtful updates and pictures, so I always know how he’s doing. She’s also incredibly reliable and consistent—someone I feel completely confident trusting with my dog. I highly recommend Alexis to anyone looking for a compassionate, patient, and dependable dog walker. She’s truly been a blessing for us!”

“Ashely was wonderful! We left a ton of instructions for our need cat and she did such a great job listening and following, but also adapting where needed. We would recommend Ashley to anyone in need of a cat sitter!”

“Jessica was trustworthy and took good care to feed my cats on time and play with them. However, one of my cats’ litter box wasn’t cleaned in what looked like 2-3 days at least. Despite having discussed that it was to be done daily. Luckily my cat is fine but this was a hygiene and safety issue that could’ve made her sick and stressed. Overall a good experience but this litter issue was not acceptable.”

About: Some of my earliest experiences with dogs apart from my own puppers, were as a child and into my teens my dad trained Guard/Security dogs. So the house was always filled with dogs newly being trained. Currently the only dogs in my life are my moms specially trained service dog that can detect MS attacks and my Boy Achilles who will soon be working with me to train other dogs for basic obedience. I also cared for my 19 year old cat named Tigger who now lives with my Grandparents. Tigger while in my care needed regular oral medication along side continual and constant monitoring of day to day activity. My schedule is open 7 days a week from 6:00-22:00 for Drop ins and Walks. Private sessions must be scheduled in advance. Group Hikes are not yet scheduled When in my care, I treat every dog and cat as my own. Similarly I respect your home by ensuring clean up of your dog or cat. No muddy paws on your sofa or wet dogs running through your house I am available for Drop-in visits and Walks from 6am to 10pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. 9am to 5pm Sundays. Outside hours service can be requested with advanced notice. I care for each Dog and Cat as my own and ensure the safety of your pets as much as I ensure their enjoyment and comfortablilty in my home or yours!
“Amazing cat sitter! I had her come in every day in the mornings for an hour to clean my cats litter box, brush, play and cuddle with him. I came home to a relaxed and well cared for kitty. 10/10 would recommend to anyone wanting a thoughtful and relaxed care taker for their pet😊”

“Another great Rover experience with Justine, she did a great job taking care of my kitties while I was away. I felt confident that they were safe and happy during her visits. I appreciate her reliability and good communication. I definitely recommend booking her to take care of your pets.”

“Amazing with my senior golden, Bruna really knows how to work with dogs, especially those dogs with special needs like reactivity… She has attention to detail and genuine care for the dog”

“Sheila was a wonderful sitter for our cat Kiki! We appreciated her attention to detail and her dedication to providing personalized care for Kiki. We also really loved the photos and videos she sent each day. She was very responsive to messages and was quick to inform us of any concerns. Her and Kiki had great rapport by the end of our booking :) We would highly recommend her!”

I've had dogs my entire life, and I've lived with family members' & roommates' cats for most of my life too. Specific dog experience includes: -Service dogs, rescue dogs, dogs with anxiety, dogs with significant medical conditions, seniors, puppies, healthy adults. -Breeds: Formosan Mountain Dogs, Shepherd-husky mixes, Labs, Scotties, Westies, and mixed breeds. I work as an RMT, mostly on weekday afternoons and evenings. I'm available 9am-12pm on Thursday and Friday, and often all day on Wednesdays. I am sometimes available for weekends as well. When I pet sit at the owner's home (such as on of my friends or family members), I follow their instructions and keep their pet company as if they were my own.
“Jody was absolutely wonderful, and I couldn't recommend her more. After needing to find a cat sitter at the last minute, I was nervous, but she exceeded every expectation. She sent lots of photos and videos during every visit, and it was obvious how quickly Murphy trusted her. She went above and beyond by grooming him, trimming his nails at no extra charge, bringing in a package, even repairing my broken key fob, and leaving everything just so. Her communication was thoughtful and detailed, and I came home to a very happy cat. It's rare to find someone who cares this much. I'll definitely be booking Jody again and would recommend her without hesitation.”

About: I've had dogs my entire life and have also had the opportunity to work in animal welfare in the past, so you can rest assured that your dog is in good hands. I have plenty of experience handling dogs of any age, including those with specialized care requirements. Whether you have a dog who enjoys adventure, car rides, or the comforts of home, I'm happy to accomodate the specific needs of your pet. Previously, I worked for 18 years in healthcare, so in the absolutely rare event of an emergency, you can count on me to remain calm and act quickly. While in my care, the majority of my time will be structured around caring for your dog(s). Special note regarding Sept 14 to 25: I will be taking an online course from Monday to Friday. Between these dates I will be able to do my full course from your home, and I will be able to take several breaks during the day to spend time with, and do potty breaks for your dogs. Extended walks will take place both before and after my course time. Outside of these dates, I will be free to devote my full attention to your dogs. My goal is to continue the routines that exist in your dogs lives to ensure that they are comfortable and secure, as if you never left. I do not hit or strike; learning opportunities are handled through positive reinforcement (if you allow), and a leash will always be used when leaving the home.

“I had an amazing experience with Sichen while I was away. She took such great care of my cat, Cleo, and made the entire experience completely stress free for me. It was clear from the updates and attention she gave that Cleo was in very good hands. She was reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while traveling. I truly appreciated the effort she put into making sure Cleo was comfortable and well looked after. I would absolutely use Sichen again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.”

“We booked Annelise on short notice to take care of our 2 cats. She made the entire process easy and efficient. Her communication was particularly good, which made it easy to get the updates we needed and ease our concerns. We would highly recommend her services.”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was 10, when my father took home a puppy rottweiler. I live with my family who love pets as well, but we do not have one of our own. We are able to feed and walk dogs. We lived for 8 months with a dog whose mommy went visit her home country. We treat her and love her as our own, just until her mom came back. Sheila took wonderful care of my cat while I was away. She was reliable, caring, and kept me updated throughout the booking. She was also incredibly flexible when my trip was unexpectedly extended, which gave me so much peace of mind. I’d happily book her again—highly recommend!

Jan is an amazing sitter who is caring, considerate and communicative! She was consistent with the scheduling and sent us daily updates with lovely pictures and videos. It makes us feel assured that our cat is well taken care of. Thank you for going above and beyond and we’d love to have you again (Sophie too)!

We were really grateful Jouvanni took our request at such short notice, and he did an excellent job taking care of our two cats for a week. I had left an essay's worth of instructions and where is what and he took it with grace and seemed to have no (or very little) issue finding things. Our boys were a little shy during the meet and greet but seemed to warm up to him quickly and enact their usual shenanigans during the week! Our building also has some rules around bikes, parking and guest etiquette and there were no issues on that end either! We will definitely keep Jouvanni in mind the next time we are away.

This was our first time leaving our cat alone for a vacation with a pet sitter so we were initially anxious, but we had a great experience with Erin! She was communicative, clear, and followed all our instructions very well. She did a wonderful job taking care of our cat, who seems to really like her. She was also very clean and respectful of our home, leaving everything tidy and did not leave any mess behind. Knowing that our cat was well cared for made being away much easier. We also really appreciated the daily photos and updates. :) Thank you so much!

We were so glad we chose Stella to care for our cat while we were on vacation. She truly went above and beyond, sending us regular pictures and videos and giving us peace of mind that he was well cared for. It was clear from the updates that our cat was happy and comfortable in her care. Stella is very trustworthy and responsive, and we wouldn’t hesitate to use her services again. Highly recommended!

Another great Rover experience with Justine, she did a great job taking care of my kitties while I was away. I felt confident that they were safe and happy during her visits. I appreciate her reliability and good communication. I definitely recommend booking her to take care of your pets.

I couldn't be happier with Joey's service! She was punctual, attentive, and genuinely cared about my dog. She followed all my instructions, sent thoughtful updates with photos, and made sure Mikie was comfortable and happy. It's obvious she loves animals, and I felt completely confident leaving my pets in her care. I highly recommend Joey and will absolutely be booking her again.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a New Westminster stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New Westminster choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
