About: My current dog is an anxious senior rescue-dog with a growing list of medical conditions. Loving her has taught me so much, and I hope that I can earn the trust of you and your dog just as I earned hers! My most recent pet care experience revolves around aging & disabled dogs and cats, but I've also cared for plenty of healthy & energetic adults and seniors too. I've had dogs my entire life, and I've lived with family members' & roommates' cats for most of my life too. Specific dog experience includes: -Service dogs, rescue dogs, dogs with anxiety, dogs with significant medical conditions, seniors, puppies, healthy adults. -Breeds: Formosan Mountain Dogs, Shepherd-husky mixes, Labs, Scotties, Westies, and mixed breeds. I work as an RMT, mostly on weekday afternoons and evenings. I'm available 9am-12pm on Thursday and Friday, and often all day on Wednesdays. I am sometimes available for weekends as well. My dog and I live in an apartment building. We take a few walks per day and make sure to do enriching activities and play time. When I pet sit at the owner's home (such as on of my friends or family members), I follow their instructions and keep their pet company as if they were my own.

About: I grew up with a variety of animals including cats, horses and dogs. I have two dogs of my own - Cinnamon & Alfie. We love to cuddle, go for walks and adventures throughout the city. I regularly go for hikes & long walks and would love to have your dog join me. I have worked with both human and dog reactive dogs including my own dog, Cinnamon so I'm well versed in how to ensure they're safe and comfortable on walks. I have worked with a few dogs through training courses using positive reinforcement and would be happy to work with you and your best friend to continue to build their training while you're away. I'm comfortable administering medication as needed and feeding both raw and kibble foods to ensure your pet continues with their routine while you're away. I love to send regular updates & pictures to assure that you know everything that your pet is getting up to! I understand how important your pet is to you and want to make sure that both you and your dog get the best out of your time away. I'm currently taking a step back from my career in marketing and have an open schedule to take care of your pets outside of ensuring my dogs are still able to be taken care of which is why I offer drop in visits or walks but no longer offer house sitting services. I like to have a comprehensive understanding of your dogs regular routine, any allergies and what you're currently working on together so that I can continue with that training and care while you're away.

Having grown up with dogs my entire life, I understand that pets are family, and I treat them with the same love and respect I'd want for my own. I also have experience caring for pets with special needs. Two of my family dogs were diabetic, so I'm familiar with maintaining consistent routines, monitoring their well-being, and understanding the importance of following care instructions carefully. I've also cared for a cat with digestive issues, ensuring they received the proper food and routine to keep them comfortable and healthy. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work part-time from home, which gives me the flexibility to provide consistent care, regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of companionship throughout the day. My schedule allows me to adapt to your pet's routine, whether that means early morning walks, midday check-ins, evening cuddles, or overnight care. I'm an early riser as well. I provide fresh food and water, regular walks and playtime, lots of affection, and I'm happy to administer medications or follow specific feeding routines if needed. Having cared for diabetic dogs and a cat with digestive issues, I understand the importance of consistency and paying close attention to a pet's health and behavior.

“Kai is very responsible, kind, and they pay attention to detail. Hana loves their presence and trusts their energy almost immediately, even if she’s always a little shy. This time when I travelled, Hana didn’t adapt to the separation very well and had FLUTD, Kai followed the instructions to words and took Hana to the ER. They waited the entire time there and helped me go through the vet consultation with video calls. Afterwards they also helped with feeding medication for Hana. It was going to be extremely difficult situation, but with Kai’s patience, everything was handled with care, and that eased my concerns so much while I was away. I would absolutely recommend Kai as a sitter.”

About: I've helped train multiple different breeds of dogs from puppies to the older ones. I have always loved being with and spending time with all different animals. I love having the animals socialize on play dates as much as the owners allow even in small doses. I believe it's good for them but I also respect any anxiety they can have. However you would like your pet to interact is how ill treat them given the chance. I have many family and friends who are in the vet field who are very open with communication with any questions I have, who I have also pet sat for, so I have resources at my disposal should they be needed. I currently work full time but different days throughout the week, generally either mornings until 4pm or evenings from mid afternoon till just before midnight. I work relatively close to the skytrain station so transit isn't an issue for me. I don't mind taking night walks if that's something their accustomed to or generally don't mind. I'm used to crate sleeping or if you allow them on furniture I don't mind cuddling the fur baby as needed. I'm firm with discipline if that's how you've trained your animal, however I can also be lenient. I'm strict on only feeding them how you've left instructions for as I'm used to begging.

About: I’ve had my cat - Olive the past two years. He genuinely brings so much joy into my life. He comes camping, is leash trained, knows tricks and loves to chat! I started cat sitting for friends and began to fall in love with getting to know different cat’s personalities. I always want to make sure they are comfortable and properly cared for. I understand how nerve wrecking it can be to leave your cat. That’s why I’ll always treat them as my own! I’ve completed tasks including: - scheduled feedings/water changes - administering medications - litter box cleaning - play time and enrichment - cuddles and scratches - provide detailed updates with photos and videos - set up of pet cameras (if needed) I work Monday - Friday from either my home, office, or in the field. My work is relatively flexible as I can make my own schedule most days. I generally can visit in the early mornings or after work. I have a vehicle so it’s easy for me to get around the Lower Mainland. Pet care fits into my daily routine with my own cat. He receives three feedings per day with periodic dry kibble. He has tv time, play time (30 min - 1 hr), tricks and treats, cat shelves/trees/scratchers, and daily quality time. He goes on weekly leashed walks and occasional camping trips. This is with the help of my partner. I ensure your cat feels comfortable before entering. I understand body language and when a cat wants to be approached or pet. I make sure to follow guidance provided for feedings and medications. I have a deep understanding of what cats are allergic to and will conduct a hazard assessment during visits. I always provide photos, videos, and detailed messages.

“Emily did an amazing job caring for my two cats! She had a separate room just for my cats so they don’t stress out as much. She checked in on them regularly and monitored them through a pet camera. She did everything I asked for, involving cleaning their eyes/teeth. It was really easy to communicate with her, and I could tell she really cares for them.
